Zerra sat in the news studio on the main IFB Broadcasting Ship while a girl was touching up her makeup. She had once ruled the IFB news department, but that was 29 yahrens ago. She had relied on things like her friendship with Commander Apollo's late wife to keep her position, unfortunately she had made a grave error by blindsiding the Commander during their last interview with the rumor about Captain Amy being Major Brie's daughter. She had learned an important lesson that day, make sure you check all your facts. Since then Zerra had received less and less airtime, while that witch Roxzanna-Rizou received more and more. Zerra consoled herself with the knowledge that Roxzy's current big story, the love life of Major JustinB, was totally off-track. One simple peek at the Callisto's records showed that Lieutenant Logan had not left the Callisto the evening that JustinB had spent on the Starliner Alpha. Zerra didn't know why Logan was leading Roxzy in the wrong direction and she didn't care, she was just looking forward to seeing Roxzy try to get herself out of the crawlon's web that she was entangling herself in. "Thirty microns," someone called to Zerra. She straightened herself up in her chair. Yes, this probably should have been Roxzanna-Rizou's scoop, she was, after all, on one of the shuttles, but if she wasn't smart enough to have the camera running during the takeover, well, it was each reporter for herself. "Five, four, three, two..." "This is Zerra, coming to you with a live update on the prisoner transfer crisis. A quick bit of background for you, Major Brie of the Callisto's Gold Squadron is currently leading a mission to transport ten prisoners from the Callisto to the Prison Barge. All ten were involved with the rebellion, led by the late Major Pierce, on the Agro Ship a while back. Two shuttles have been transporting the prisoners, and anonymous sources tell me that both shuttles were taken over by the prisoners. The same sources report that the first shuttle, piloted by Major Brie, has been disabled and is waiting to be towed to the Prison Barge. There is an unconfirmed report of a fatality aboard that shuttle. The second shuttle seems to be in more dire circumstances. Lieutenant Logan is the pilot, and she herself sent the following message just a couple of centons ago." Zerra signaled for them to playback the footage. This is Lt. Logan, pilot of Gold Shuttle Two. We have regained control of the ship from the SSS prisoners and have secured them. We have minor injuries and one case of severe vapor allergy. One of the prisoners was able to jam our comms and nav panels before we regained control. We have not been able to establish manual control of the helm. The course they set in is locked in, but we are attempting to override. "The IFB's own Roxzanna-Rizou is aboard that shuttle, along with her vid-operator. No word yet on who is suffering from the severe vapor allergy." Something was passed to her, she paused. It was information that she already had, but a little bit of dramatic effect could go a long way. "I've just received word that the evacuation of the Rising Star has been cancelled, and all evacuees are being returned as I speak. The evacuation of the Starliner Alpha continues. My sources say that it is believed that the prisoners had intended to ram both ships. Stay tuned for further updates as we receive them, and I will have a special, one centar program this evening, recapping Pierce's mutiny attempt, with special focus on the prisoners that are causing this current emergency. Until then, this is Zerra, reporting live for the IFB."

Triton and Lysander
"Start organizing this first group of people as the first to be put onto our shuttle", Triton said as he pointed his finger to the front crowd to Lysander.
Lysander simply nodded at Triton, feeling like the young warrior was still throwing Cylon daggers at him for some inexplicable reason. Triton spoke with command in his voice, holding a "hard as nails" expression on his face.
Lysander followed orders and did as Triton asked. I'm going to get to the bottom of this guy's problem, Lysander thought to himself.
Meanwhile Quandri was busy directing the other side of the crowd where Io and Lyra stood.
He stepped in front of her and motioned to her , saying, "Ma'am if you and the others that are behind you would step this way and follow the first group of passengers, in a single file, quickly move into the docking bay, shuttle four is ready for embarking.
They did as they were directed to do. "Lyra whispered to Io, as they briskly walked through the exit door, "Hey, I've never been on a Battlestar. Do you think we might bump into some cute warriors while we're there?"
"Lyra, you're always the opportunist in the middle of a crisis", Io retorted with a shake of her head.
"Well, what do you think of that one up ahead? He's the REAL handsome!"
Io slightly stretched her head over the top of the people's heads to see who Lyra was talking about. Indeed he was handsome, with brown hair and blue eyes, tall and well built. Triton had gone up ahead to the shuttle ramp to monitor the passengers, while further directing the people.
"Say, where do you think we've seen him before?", Io said to her friend.
"Dunno, but he's even cuter than your sentry", Lyra raised her eyebrows cheekily.
Io thought for a micron before it dawned on her like a Nubian Sun.
"Commander Apollo! He looks almost the spitting image of him, don't you think, Lyra?"
"Hey, you're right. Why didn't I think of that?"
Io rolled her eyes at Lyra.
Lysander came up behind his group of civilians as they embarked the shuttle. After the last person of the second group Quandri shepherded had entered the shuttle, he approached Triton, saying as he put one hand on his hip, "I think that's all we can safely take, Lieutenant".
Triton nodded, "I think we can prepare to launch now. If you and Lieutenant Quandri, will take up your positions in the shuttle's seating area. Make sure all passengers are seated and buckled in", he said with a tone indicating he still felt kind of wary of him from the night before, even though Persephone convinced him that there was no reason for him to be threatened by the sentry.
"Yes sir", Lysander replied. But half hesitant, he added, "Lieutenant, ......if may have a quick word with you when we get back to the Callisto?".
Triton was just about to turn to step onto the ramp, but stopped, and mumbled under his breathe, "Where's a black hole when you need one?", before he looked back at the sentry, raised his eyes from the step, back up to Lysander's face, and replied, "What about?"
"Oh-ah..", he paused as he wondered what the warrior had just mumbled, then proceeded. "Alright, let me just come out and say it. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but Lieutenant, I think we've somehow gotten off on the wrong foot, right from the centon I saw you in the Officer's Club last night. Call me over sensitive, but I could have sworn you were glaring at me rather intimidatingly, for no apparent reason. And you're tone of voice here today just makes me think you're still holding something against me, though I can't think what about".
Triton stared at him for a few microns with one leg resting on the ramp and his hand on his holster with his other hand holding onto the guide rail, before he answered. " I assure you it is just your imagination, lieutenant. We have to launch now".
Triton entered the shuttle and quickly disappeared into his chair in the cockpit with Eridanus already warming up the shuttle and exchanging communications with the Rising Star's flight control officers.
"Are we all in?", Erid asked his co-pilot.
"Yes, let's go".
"Everything alright buddy"? Erid inquired.
Triton let out a sight as he put on his head piece and began pressing buttons on his console, "Just fine, Erid. I just want to get these civilians to safety."
"Okay, but if you want to talk about it...."
"No, Erid. I'm fine. I'm just worried about Pers." his eyes held a worrying look in them, as he turned to Erid.
THIS IS STARLINER ALPHA FLIGHT CAPTAIN, CALLISTO SHUTTLE FOUR -PASSENGER EVACUATION , YOU ARE CLEAR TO LAUNCH WHEN READY.
Erid heard the message from the Star Liner's flight control through his headpiece, "THIS IS FLIGHT CAPTAIN-CALLISTO SHUTTLE FOUR, - LAUNCH CLEARANCE ACKNOWLEDGED. LAUNCHING". Exchanging nods with Triton, Erid pulled the joystick as the shuttle lifted and began to kick in it's launching thrusters.
They were out of the docking bay and off the Starliner Alpha in two microns, the pilots pulled up the shuttle on an 30ยบ right angle as they flew away from the luxury liner, before leveling out the ship and heading back toward the Callisto, with a back drop of sparkling stars expanding everywhere the eye could see.

Brie asked Brik to check to make sure that all the prisoners were properly restrained... Checking carefully to see if the prisoners were indeed unconscious, the Lieutenant looked through the meager supplies of the shuttle and appropriated some extra wiring to add to the prisoners bonds. He had no desire to fight again, one riot suppression per shuttle ride was a strict limit! Well, okay, he really wouldn't mind allowing that evil woman Trula to have a free taste sample of the bottom of his boot. Then there was the body of Jorma to attend to. He had promised himself that she would pay for her treachery but had been quite surprised to see her debt paid so quickly and absolutely. After so many years of continuous war and combat, her death did not stun him or shock him, only the woman's foolishness, failure and eventual death gave him philosophical pause. If these people would put that same effort into helping instead of hurting... Oh well, no use worrying about their misguided intentions, there was work to be done. He gathered Jorma's body and wrapped her as well as he could with her Security jacket. He cleaned up what little blood he could and checked the prisoners again...still secure. As he came back to the cockpit he heard the rest of the "conversation" and Trula's vile statement and wicked laugh. For one of the very few instances in Brik's disciplined military life, the soldier allowed his desire to rule, quite consciously it had to be said, and kicked Trula sternly (sternly and in mid wicked laugh) right in the jaw. This time she was truly out and quickly bound once again. He used more restraints and improvised wiring on her than any of the other prisoners, smiling slightly as he did so. Who the frack laughed like that anyway?!?!? Looking at Brik and Janey, he spoke to the Major: "Prisoners all restrained as ordered, ma'am."

"Prisoners all restrained as ordered, ma'am." "We'll take turns keeping watch," Brie instructed. "Lieutenant Janey, the first shift is yours. No telling how long it will be until the shuttle arrives to tow us, and thinking that they'll all stay unconscious until we arrive at the Prison Barge is a little too optimistic. And there's something that I need to..." Brie got up, grabbed a flashlight, and made her way into the passenger area. She had had a lot of training in lighter gravity but never liked the sensation. Life support was functioning properly, although the air seemed thinner. Even in the dim lighting she was able to immediately see what she was looking for. An air duct hung open, it was obviously the place that Jorma had hidden the weapon. With less gravity Brie was easily able to lift herself up and through the opening. She shined the light around, there were no more hidden weapons. With Jorma dead she would never find out how or when the laser had been placed inside. It didn't really matter, Brie realized that life as she knew it would never be the same. She would never be rid of the New Secret Survival Society. Covered with dust and dirt, Brie lowered herself back down. She grabbed a container with emergency supplies brought it back to the cockpit. "Jorma had it hidden in the air duct," Brie said to Brik, assuming that he knew that she was talking about the laser, not the emergency supplies. She sat down again, took out a bottle of water and opened it. She was suddenly famished, wishing like crazy that there was a veggie burger in the supplies. She looked to see what was actually in there, but then decided that it probably wasn't a good idea to eat just yet. She took out another bottle of water and held it out towards Brik. "Do you want anything?" she asked him.

Comeek was seething. How could their plan have gone so wrong? He was blaming Chip, who seemed to be in charge, with not telling him anything. If only he had known, things may have gone differently.
And if he hadn't trusted Logan. Technically, he hadn't really trusted her. He just knew that The Master had promised her to him. It didn't matter to Comeek whether she cooperated or not. And it still didn't.
He was watching her, in the cockpit, leaning over that blonde lieutenant. His jaw twitched at the way the man looked at her, the way her shoulder brushed his as they worked at the control panel. Lies! All of it! The good-looking Lt. Hush was obviously involved with Logan somehow. Comeek made a mental note to choke the life from the man slowly while Logan watched, preferably bound. He hoped she would beg him for mercy for the lieutenant's life, that she would promise him anything to spare him. Of course, he wouldn't, but he would revel in her pleading.
His attention was diverted as Vreemer grunted. The reporter had evidently found a spot she had missed with her stilleto. Comeek didn't care. Vreemer and Sid were wastes of time. They didn't share a brain between them and it was obvious at the way they had let two women overcome them so easily. At lease Comeek felt he had put up a fight and made Logan earn her victory, even though it would be short-lived.
Logan stood up in the cockpit and attempted to tie her hair back. As she stood with her arms stretched over her head, Comeek watched her closely, noticing every ripple of movement of her muscles under the uniform. As if she felt his gaze, she turned and caught his eye. The pure loathing that was reflected in her green eyes only further stiffened his resolve. Before this is over, I'll have you.

Logan reached to tie her hair back and caught Comeek leering at her. She couldn't believe he still had that obsessive gleam in his eye after the beating she had given him. It had to be clear to him that she wasn't on his side. Just to make sure she returned his gaze with every ounce of revulsion she could manage. It didn't seem to bother him at all. In fact, he almost seemed happy about it.
Ignoring him and the bad feeling that was tickling at her subconscious, she turned back to Hush who was elbow deep in the control panel. "Anything?"
He blew the hair out of his eyes as he shook his head. "I can't access the secondary comm backup from here. But, the navigations are another story. It may take a few centons, but I think I can get minimal flight control back soon."
Persephone was trying everything she could think of to re-direct other systems to the navigation panel, with little success.
"I'm going to try to reroute comms through the secondary buffer panel." Logan had no idea if it would work, but she needed contact back with the Fleet. She had to know what to do if they couldn't regain control of the helm. And she wanted to know about the fate of the other shuttle and her friends there. Rizou's camera was good for letting them know they were alive, but without two-way communication Logan had no idea waht to expect. That lack of control bothered her more than anything.
Hush nodded and turned attention back to his work. Before Logan had even exited the cockpit she heard him call out, "Wait! Logan!"
"What? Do you have navigation?"
Hush's hands were still busy in the innards of the panel, but his face was turned towards her and his eyes twinkled with discovery. "If you're rerouting, use the IFB gear. There's a transponder in there."
Logan almost smacked herself on the forehead. Of course! It would mean crippling their only form of communication, but the transponder signal was universal in Fleet equipment. it was their only chance.
Steeling herself for a confrontation she knew was coming like a distant storm on the horizon, she marched out of the cockpit and towards Rozxanna-Rizou and N'Rondar.

Captain Stadia, Lieutenant Ben, Lieutenant Tracyb and Lieutenant Vulpa, report to the bridge, ready for assignment, immediately. Stadia jumped down from her viper and jogged out of the hanger. She jogged past people. Entering the bridge she noticed the lts. standing around waiting for her. Talking to Commander Sheba, Stadia got the details of the mission. They were to take a shuttle out , join up with Major Brie's shuttle and tow it to the prison barge. CaptStadia, once done getting the assignment, turns to the Lts., "Okay, you've heard the assignment. Lets get back to the hanger bay and begin prepping for launch. We launch within the hour. Lt. Vulpa, make sure the towing equipment is running correctly." "Yes sir!" "Lt Ben and TracyB make sure we have weapons up and running. I fear we may have need of weapons on this mission. I also want the shuttle ready for anything. Dismissed." They all turned and headed out to return to the hanger. Stadia paused a moment to watch them leave before she stepped off the bridge to return to the hanger.

Brie took out another bottle of water and held it out towards Brik. "Do you want anything?" she asked him. "Major, it would be my honor to share in the drinking of water with you." He gave her the casual but sincere half-salute that was familiar to combat warriors in the field (throughout the universe perhaps) as he reached for the offered bottle.
Brik silently inspected the Major's wounds and found that they looked more painful than serious. And if she was saying nothing about her own wounds he would abide by her implied wishes in the matter for the time being.
He knew the time would come when he would have to process everything that had just happened as well as the unresolved issue with finding Ally for she was still very much in his thoughts. But he also knew that now was not the time and it was his duty (and pleasure at this point) to get some rest while there was time and before his watch came 'round.
So he laid down with his jacket rolled up for a field-pillow and interlocked his hands on his deep chest. And as he closed his eyes he smiled just a little and spoke: "By the way...you seem to have developed a rather vicious jab, Major Brie."

"By the way...you seem to have developed a rather vicious jab, Major Brie." Brie grinned before taking a sip of water. She was really enjoying working with Brik, and made a mental note to assign him to missions with her more often. She understood why Skyler thought so highly of him. "Yahrens of practice," she replied. "Hand to hand combat is something that has always come easily to me. Mind over matter. In fact..." she paused, partly for dramatic effect and partly to take another sip of water, "I bet that if we were both at full strength, I could take even you." She grinned again, and drank more of her water. "We should set that up sometime. It would be fun. And I promise, I won't throw up on you like I did to Trula." She put her head back and closed her eyes, wondering if the big man had taken her seriously.
