In the war room, Sheba was talking with Apollo. "I know," Sheba said, "we just had a report that the garbage scow has just run out of fuel and one of the freighters has as well."
Apollo looked dour. "That's why we have to do this. We have no other choice or we'll be stuck here forever. At least it will give us enough fuel to make the jump out of this system and start looking for more wherever we go. Sheba, this is another risky mission, but it has to be successful. We have a decent amount of information about the baseship and where her fuel stores are and how to get to them. The problem will be isolating those areas so we can safely take the fuel and load it onto our fuel barges. Get your best people on it and we'll be in touch soon. Good luck!"
The image went dark.
Just then, I walked onto the bridge to see Sheba come out of the warroom. She called me in quickly. "Get Skyler and Major Jorlan in here quick, Colonel. And summon Cpt. Hector back in here as well. Apollo has just given us our directive and it's not going to be pretty."
The call went out for Skyler to report to the bridge, for Maj. Jorlan to return from his patrol duty and for Cpt. Hector, the infantry leader, to report to Sheba on the double...

Lt. Aegina spoke," Commander, two more ships have run out of fuel."
Sheba held up a hand for Aegina to quiet down. She didn't want word of how bad the situation was to begin making the rounds.
"I know. We're working on it," was all that Sheba said.

Skyler grabbed the records and plans and was heading towards the War room to lay it all out and start planning when he heard a tiny voice.
"Captain Skyler?" turning he saw a young girl, not more than 14.
"Yes, what can I do for you?" Skyler stopped and turned to face her. She looked him direct in the eye for a milli-centon then turned her eyes towards the floor and blushed.
"Major Brie sent me to find you. I have your Bronze Cluster and she said it was your good luck charm and that you might want it back and with all that has been going on I thought I should find you quick..."
Skyler cracked a slight smile and placed a hand on her shoulder, which stopped her mid sentence, and a long sentence it was turning out to be. "Whats your name?"
"My name is Sable sir." she shot a quick glance back at him and then back at the floor.
"Sable, thank you for finding me so quickly, but you are not in my squadron, or a Warrior, so you don't have to call me sir. If you like you can call me Skyler."
She blushed again, and even brighter shade of red and held out her hand, the Bronze Cluster hanging from the chain he had hung it on yarhens ago. "Sk...Sk...Skyler, sir." Sklyer smiled at her and took it from her.
"Now I have a problem, I have two good luck charms and thats bad luck. I will keep the bronze cluster, and I will get you to hold onto the other one until I see you again... Ok?"
Sable nodded her head and Skyler handed her a well worn rank insignia that had been in his jacket pocket. "Its my old infantry Sgt. pin. Its all that I got back from when I was wounded and released from the Life Station. The rest of my uniform, gear all of it was destroyed." He had found it a few cycles ago in some of his old stuff and had dropped it in his jacket until he could but it somewhere safe. He could think of no safer place at the micron.
SKYLER REPORT TO THE BRIDGE... SKYLER TO THE BRIDGE
"I have to run now, but thanks Sable for bringing my medal back" Skyler winked at her and she turned and almost ran off towards the life station. Skyler smiled and headed towards the bridge.

Skyler entered the war room and laid the files, layouts, drawings and other various collected data on the table and started spreading it out then a thought crossed his mind. He glanced at the Col. then spoke.....
"Commander, we need Astraea, she was in Cylon Captivity for yarhens. She might be helpful in the planning of this mission, or at the very least, the sucessful planning of this mission. Her knowledge of the workings of a Basestar could be helpful."
He waited to see how they would react..... How Charybdis would react, they had been close before she disappeared.

I looked over at Sheba. Skyler was right, Astraea could be a big help given her Cylon knowledge.
This time, I wouldn't have any qualms about her going, but would the rest of the warriors trust her?
"I think that's a good idea, Captain," I remarked.
Sheba nodded, "Very well. Colonel, get Lt. Astraea up here. Before we take a look at your plans, Captain, lets wait until Captain Hector and Major Jorlan arrive."
Reports had Jorlan landing in a micron's notice...

RPG note: I made up the facts about the fuel locations on a Basestar.... It makes sense to me that the hanger deck would have refueling ports to refuel raiders. If anyone knows of a different layout, let me know and I will change the post to match it....
"Before we take a look at your plans, Captain, lets wait until Captain Hector and Major Jorlan arrive."
'My Plans.. Great... Looking over the scattered mess of data, Skyler knew the best bet to keep his fellow Warriors alive would be to hit it here' his finger traced a spot on the outer hull of the basestar 'with that pulsar cannon we have, maybe a missle or two and send the thing to hades. But we need the fuel that thing is carring, so, we gotta put boots on the ground.... Thats something he hadn't heard in yarhens. His old Infantry Sgt used to say, the Flyboys can blow up hades all they want to, it isn't in Colonial hands until they put boots on the ground, and boys, that means my boots and your boots, not Flyboy boots.
Ok, landing deck to central core, down three levels main fuel storage. One level down fighter refueling on hanger deck. We could land assualt teams, secure the landing deck, use the Infantry Drop Ships, they got armor and external guns, then take the next deck down and start landing tankers. Then all we would have to do is seal off two decks and hold it till the sucked the tanks dry, then a few charges in the vapor rich, empty fuel tanks and instant fireball and the Callisto keeps it missle inventory intact and doesn't even have to heat up the big gun. '
At that moment Major Jorlan entered the bridge and Skylers thoughts were drawn away from the plans in front of him....

Skyler nodded towards Jorlan....
"Major, I wanted to let you know that I was the one that kept Ally with Gold durning the battle. With the distance between Gold and Bronze after the battle started I didn't want to send her striking off alone to rejoin you, especially with a shot up bird. "
"Captain, its ok, she's not in trouble. I would have done the same if it had been a member of Gold and the roles were reversed."
"Thanks, and she is one hell of a pilot."
"Thanks, coming from one of the legandary 'Gold' Squadron aces, it means alot.."
Before Skyler could reply, Sheba approached with Capt. Hector.....
