"Sure," Brie replied with a grin. "Something on the rocks, because my icy heart needs to be refurbished." She slipped her arm around JustinB's waist as they headed back towards their table. "I really hate to bring this up, but when do we catch our shuttle back? As much as I'd love to miss that shuttle and end up having to stay here for the jump, somehow I don't think the Commander would be too happy about that."

Out of the corner of his eye "Holt" saw Whatshername from the reservations desk. He was tempted to leave Challa and dance one dance with Whatshername, but decided against it. Challa would have understood, he could have fibbed and said that a promised dance was what made the reservation possible, but he didn't want to chance Challa's jealousy. As much as he hated to admit it, for the time being he needed Challa. Because of her he didn't have to spend his nights in his small, assigned quarters, he had access to fleet's computers, and the sex wasn't all that bad either, she was so willing to please. Still, he looked forward to his rendezvous with Whatshername. He missed the days of the Secret Survival Society...so many woman at his beck and call. Patience he thought to himself. My day will come again. Then I'll be able to chose any woman I want, starting at the top. He smiled the thought of Sheba at his feet, making certain promises to him in exchange for her life.
"Why were you so sure that that was Major Brie?" Challa had snapped him out of his fantasy. "You always laugh at me for watching Roxzanna-Rizou."
"I watched a lot of IFB during my recovery," Holt lied. "Including a whole bunch of their back vids. My accident was right after the Agro Ship attempt, and I wanted to see what I had missed. I don't believe a whole lot of what the IFB news department says, but I didn't have much else to do, especially when General Sickbay was on." He waited for the reaction he hoped was coming, he didn't want to talk about Brie.
"Don’t get me started on General Sickbay!" Challa's voice showed some anger. "Did you hear what they did to poor Doctor Alan? They killed off his character! Fired, out of the blue! He's been on that show for 29 fracking yahrens, before the Cylons attacked, and they just kill him off! Twenty-nine fracking yahrens!"
Holt smiled. Challa must be upset, he had never heard her swear about anything else. "Stay with me, my pet. I'll make your life much more exciting than anything seen on General Sickbay." He kissed her forehead, then twirled her again. He wanted another glimpse of JustinB and the Widow. That disgusting couple was a picture that he wanted to keep in his head, a reminder of all that was wrong with the fleet.

"The shuttle is here now, but doesn't leave for another twenty centons. It is the same shuttle we came on. They were coming back here anyway, so with a smile and cubits in my hand they agreed. So lets finish this right then," I said then raised my glass. "To you Brie, the most beautiful woman in the entire fleet and to our new relationship."
We clinked our glasses together then sipped the beverage till it was gone. We placed our glasses on the bar and headed out towards the exit. As we were walking across we walked as one. I still had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Soon we would be back on the Callisto and there would be the challenge of making a relationship work. I had no doubts that even as squadron leaders we could maintain a healthy work ethic. All it would mean as once we were on duty, we were colleagues, but afterwards we were lovers. All I need to do now is relay that thought to Brie without sounding so male.

They took the same comfortable seats on the shuttle. It seemed like a lifetime ago that they were there before! The shuttle took off. As soon as it was announced that they could remove their restraints Brie moved over and cuddled up with JustinB. "I'd like to keep things quiet, at least for now," she said. "So much is going to change, with the announcement that Amy is my daughter, I think it would be best. Plus you're not the only one who likes some privacy, Mr. Cracken." She shifted slightly and held JustinB even closer. "Of course we'll have to tell the Commander, but she knows that we'll put our duty before any personal feelings." She paused again. "But we have plenty of time."

Snuggling up to Brie was a great feeling.
" I just hope the Commander doesn't hit the ceiling over our revelation. But as for the other bit, it would be wise to keep it to ourselves. Except of course, Amy should know cause I am sure you will get twenty questions from her once you get back. Brie, I don't know how you will react to this but you should know something," With that Brie sat upright. "Brie, I know we have just officially got together but I need you to know, I Love You."
'Good onya JustinB you fool, now Brie will be scared off', I thought to myself.

It had taken a while, but they had finally found the restaurant where a "Mr. Cracken" had dined with the unidentified, redheaded lady. They'd left quite some time earlier, so Roxzanna-Rizou followed. Under normal circumstances considering that a Warrior was involved, she suspected that the couple would have taken a room, but considering that a jump was scheduled in just a few centars, she guessed that the couple would either dance or gamble for a while before Major JustinB had to return to the Callisto and the mysterious Lady Red disappeared back into the Fleet.
"N'Rondar, do you think they'd go dance or go gamble?" she asked her vid-op.
N'Rondar thought for just a moment before replying, "Warriors gamble to impress the women, since nothing makes a chick hotter for a guy than for him to win her some money. Yeah, they'd gamble, for sure."
Roxzanna-Rizou, thinking back on her own extensive personal experiences, nodded. "I think your right under ordinary circumstances; however, Major JustinB is a bit more seasoned that your average young Warrior. For some reason, I suspect he'd go against the grain if he's either serious about Lady Red or serious about just getting her in bed. Therefore, they'd go dancing. Let's go! We've got to catch up with them before they head out."

"Holt" watched as the Widow left with JustinB. Noting the time, they probably weren't coming back.
"I, um, have to go use the Little Girls' Room," Challa told him.
"Take your time, my pet," Holt replied, grateful for the respite. He wandered over to the table that had been vacated. "Typical," he muttered to himself, noting that it had been left for others to clean up. There was a small box of the table, probably the one that the bracelet had been in. Holt picked it up and put the box in his pocket. He saw something on the floor, something made of black material. He glanced around, no one was paying any attention to him. He picked it up, it seemed to be a wrap. It was of the same material as Brie's dress, she must have forgotten it. Holt nonchalantly walked across the room and stashed it away in a janitorial closet. If Brie were to come back looking for it he wanted to make sure she had to stay as long as possible. Anything to make her life a little bit harder. He then walked to the bar and ordered two drinks as Challa joined him again. He handed one to her. "To a better future for the human race," he said, raising his glass.
Challa didn't quite understand the toast, but hearing the word "future" raised her hopes. She so badly wanted a future with Holt! "To the future," she said.

"Brie, I know we have just officially got together but I need you to know, I Love You."
Stunned, Brie just sat there. She thought back to the night that she had finally admitted that Turner had died, an evening spent drinking with Skyler. Brie realized that night that Skyler was in love with her but they both knew that there was no possibility of ever having a future. She had a deep respect for Skyler and did love him, but it wasn't a romantic love. Skyler was family, and Brie hoped for him more than anything that he would find someone who could make him as happy as he deserved to be, as happy as she was now. Brie had often wondered if Skyler had fallen for her because they could never be together. He had been hurt badly twice, it would be three times once he found out that she was now with someone else.
Her thoughts then turned to her first date with Turner, how deeply in love with him she had been by the end of the evening and how special he had made her feel. As special as she felt at that micron. She had loved Turner so much, but he was gone. When he died she felt as if she had died as well. It had taken yahrens but she had finally moved on, more than anything she wanted to feel alive again. After her evening with JustinB, she did. Looking deep into JustinB's eyes, Brie knew that she was where she was supposed to be, with the person that she was supposed to be with. Everything was so clear, lightning could strike twice. "I love you too."

Just a little bit earlier….
Having finally been able to contact her no-account producer, Roxzanna-Rizou was excited that she had a picture of Major JustinB, Black Squadron Leader, to use in her quest to track him down. As she approached the reception station in the Starliner Alpha’s main dance hall, she palmed the picture.
“Hello, I’m Roxzanna-Rizou of the IFB. I’m supposed to meet my friend, Major JustinB, here this evening. Have you seen him?” she asked, holding out the image.
Celebrity worship definitely had its place, a place that was often quite wonderful, in Roxzanna-Rizou’s mind, but sometimes it could be so…so…very annoying! This was one of those very annoying times! The clerk’s eyes widened at the presence of the IFB reporter, and her mouth dropped open in surprise as her hands bracketed her chin and mouth. “Roxzanna-Rizou! You’re Roxzanna-Rizou! I can’t believe it! I was just watching you on the vid earlier tonight. How can I help you? Lords of Kobol, I really can’t believe you’re here!”
This bubblehead must be a relatively new addition to the staff, thought Roxzanna-Rizou. “Yes, it is nice to be back, but now, I need help meeting my friend. Have you seen him?” she asked again, holding out the picture once more.
The clerk gave a knowing smile, but then tears almost welled up in her eyes as she said, “Oh, I’m so sorry, Ms. Roxzanna! You must be mistaken. That’s not Major Whatshisname, I’m pretty sure that’s Mr. Cracken. He and his lady friend left around five or ten centons ago.”
“Are you sure?” asked Roxzanna-Rizou as other people started approaching, with some calling out her name. One woman in particular in a gaudy colored dress with hideous sleeves was coming up, calling her name as she waved her arm up in the air, allowing the sleeve to flop grotesquely back and forth. Ignoring the woman and the rest of the crowd, Roxzanna-Rizou turned back to the clerk and said, “And do you know where they were going?”
“Yes, Ma’am, they left, but I don’t know where they went,” replied the clerk.
“Well, I think I might,” replied the reporter, who turned to escape from the crowd without even thanking the bubblehead. With N’Rondar trailing behind, she made pretty good time for a woman wearing fashion heels.

"Did you see that Holt?" Challa asked excitedly. "She looked right at me!"
"She's probably just jealous of your natural beauty," Holt replied. He leaned close. "I hear she..." Holt whispered something in Challa's ear.
Challa giggled. "Probably. You're so much fun, Holt. What did I ever do to deserve you?"
"On the contrary, my pet, it is I who need you." Holt smiled inwardly. For now.
