I had to stop myself laughing as Roxzanna-Rizou scoured my quarters for evidence of me having a female visitor. I was about to leave when I out of instinct decided to check for any left messages while I was away. There was only one and it was from Brie.
Major JustinB,
I would like to continue our discussion about squadron procedures sometime in the very near future. I’ve sent a message to Commander Sheba, since we need to discuss our ideas with her as well. Please let me know a good time to continue our conversation.
Major Brie Gold Squadron
I had to let Brie know, but I had to do it in person, because if I knew Roxzanna-Rizou's reputation, she probably left a listening device in my quarters. I deleted the message.
On my way out I made sure my door was secure. Wouldn't want to give good ol' Roxzanna a uninterrupted snoop of my quarters. I started my run around the Callisto. I took various routes this time, just in case I was being followed. At the first opportunity I would get someone to sweep my room for listening devices. Twenty centons later I arrived at my destination. Taking a few deep breaths I knocked on Bries's door, I only hoped to she was there cause I had to warn her about Roxzanna.

The mess had started to bother Brie. She was a neat-freak, always would be. Quietly she took what had been strewn around the office and placed everything back in the boxes. She placed them in the bedroom, Amy could unpack for real once she was up. Amy continued to sleep, Brie had a feeling that her daughter had waited up pretty late for her. The clothes that had been Trula's were still on Brie's bed, making it obvious that she hadn't slept there.
Back in her office, Brie wiped up the crumbs and swept. It wasn't perfect, but it was a whole lot better. There was a knock on her door. Brie expected it to be Persephone, but was pleasantly surprised to see her lover. He had obviously gone for a run and was slightly out of breath. "Major," she said, "it's nice to see you. Please come in." She closed the door behind him and got him a glass of water. JustinB had a worried look on his face. Brie felt as if her heart had stopped. He was going to tell her that things had happened too fast, that after having had time to think it over they should be just colleagues after all. She knew it. "What's wrong?"

Amy opened her eyes, but they were the solid black eyes of the demon. Using Amy, he rose her up and walked silently over to the doorway, cracking open the door enough to see out. He could see Brie there, talking with JustinB.
How he wanted to know more! He wanted badly to be in on the date, but his suggestion through Amy that they double date had been rejected. This kid was so adorable, he was stunned that her best sweet-and-sadeye look had been rejected by Brie. Why was it that gaining an alliance with Amy had been so easy, while his true target, Brie, remained so hard to get?
No matter. He had Amy, and since he did, in the end he'd have them both.
And as he was so fond of doing, he suddenly returned control back to Amy...
....She blinked, backing away from the doorway. What am I doing?, she thought. She looked through the crack, and smiled. Mom's back! But something seems wrong. Did something happen on the date? Mom so wanted the date to go well... Respecting their privacy, Amy closed the door.
She walked back to the bed and sat down. It wasn't the first time she'd suddenly found herself doing something she didn't remember starting in the first place. The demon? It made sense.
Hey, that's not funny, she thought.
Oh, yes it is, came a reply thought, but not in her voice.
Amy's eyes suddenly went black again for a split micron, and when they returned to normal, Amy yawned, stretching her arms. She got up, walked to the door, and opened it slowly when she heard voices in the other room.
Hey, mom's back! But something seems wrong...

"Brie, I love you and nothings wrong per say. First off, I want to thank you for a wonderful evening," Getting that said I gave her a kissing trying hard not to soil her uniform with my sweaty body. "I do on the other hand have to let you know that Roxzanna-Rizou is here on the Callisto and she is after some big story about me and the mystery woman I went to dinner with, even though she says she wants to interview me and about my rescue. The reason I know this is I paid Pedros a few extra cubits to keep an ear out for anyone looking for particular guests."
Brie didn't know what to say and was a little confused when I started to chuckle. "what's so funny?"
"The look on Roxzanna-Rizou's face when she searched my quarters and found nothing to prove I was with someone. Brie, any off duty moment I have I'd love to share with you and all this means for the moment we just have to be a little more careful. As it is I have to visit fleet security to get them to sweep my quarters for listening devices."

Brie sighed in relief. "When I saw the look on your face I thought that...never mind what I thought. Why Roxzanna-Rizou cares who you had dinner with is beyond me, although it's probably not the dinner that she wants to report about." She gave JustinB another kiss. "Did you get my message?" JustinB nodded. "I haven't heard back from the Commander yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do. I figure that we need to tell her as soon as possible, she's the one person who needs to know our business." Brie grinned playfully. "So you're telling me that at least until after the jump we have to carefully sneak around if we want to spend any time together? Sounds pretty exciting to me."

"Actually, it does sound kinda exciting. I might even have some fun with her sending her on wild goose chases and such. You know the old misinformation trick. Should be fun, but I have to get Fleet Security so they can check my room out for any listening devices Roxzanna might have placed in my quarters. Anyway, I was wondering whether you would join me for lunch later on?, in the O'Mess that is. That way we can allay suspicion from our friend the reporter and show others both squadrons don't have to be at war all the time."
"Sounds like a good idea Lover, but I will call you on your comm to confirm it Ok!"
"Great, I cannot wait sweetheart. Till the next time we get some privacy, I will leave you with this." Once said, I put my arms around her and kissed her tender lips. After a centon or so, I let her go , blew her a kiss then left.
My next stop was Fleet Security. After jogging to where they were located, I opened their door. I didn't want to admit to them I needed their help, but better to swallow my pride then finding me and Brie splashed all over IFB news. The officer at the desk was Sergeant Whitcher.
"Mornin' Sergeant," I said.
"Morning to you Major, what can I do for you?" he replied.
"I have a problem. I just had a IFB reporter in my quarters chasing a story. Roxzanna-Rizou from IFB news followed me from the Starliner Alpha for some reason. She tried to interview me and to get her off my back, I let her momentarily in my quarters. I was wondering whether I could have someone do a sweep of my quarters please?"
"Well first I gotta say it's the first time for a while I have come across a warrior without an attitude let alone one willing to trust Fleet Security to do a job for them. But sorry, I cannot help you Major."
"And why is th..."
"But I know who can. Go down the corridor here and the second door on the left. You need to speak to Captain Proteus. He's our very best electronic security guy on the Callisto's Fleet Security staff and one of the best in the entire Fleet."
"Thanks Sergeant," I replied.
I made my way down the corridor and to the second door on the left. I knocked on the door and waited to be invited in.

After JustinB left Brie realized that kissing him was just about her favorite thing to do in the universe. Having lunch together in the Officers' Mess would be interesting. To sit and talk business, pretending that they were still just competing squadron leaders...it would be difficult. But she knew that they could do it.
Brie began to plan her day. She checked the status of her squadron, Skyler was the only Gold Squadron member from the mission team that was still in sick bay, and his condition was listed as improving. There was a note that he would be released soon. Brie decided that she would visit him sometime, although looking him in the face would be difficult. Knowing that she would be hurting Skyler once he found out was her one regret. She made a note that Brik had been released and placed on light duty. She also noticed that the brass from the Galactica were scheduled to start their interrogation of the mission team. "You put your life on the line for a successful mission and are made to feel like felgercarb because of it, then you have to worry about IFB reporters snooping into your personal life...why does anyone want to enlist anymore?" she asked out loud.
That reminded Brie of something. Having sent the message to Persephone, she needed to prepare. She hoped the ensign wouldn't take too long to get there, the rest of her day needed to be planned around that, and her still unscheduled meeting with Commander Sheba. Quietly Brie tiptoed into the bedroom, only to find that Amy wasn't there. The turboflush room door was closed...self-explanatory. Brie picked up a few things and shoved them into a duffle bag, then returned to her office to wait for Persephone. She checked her messages, still nothing from the Commander. Brie figured that JustinB would probably be talking with Security at just about that moment. She grinned. She hoped that he made her quarters a daily stop on his run, he certainly looked sexy slightly out of breath and covered with sweat.

Walking along the corridor on her way to Major Brie's office, Persephone thought once more of Chiron. She almost saw his face flashing as clear as a Nubian Sun in her mind's eye for a split micron. Her eyes must have looked strangely enlivened for that moment. Other Gold Squadron's officers passed her and she probably was only imagining that they were staring at her.
She returned her thoughts to finding Brie's office, and looking less like she was on something. Her family often used to tell her her face could express things unintentionally, when she was deep in thought. She did not want to give away her personal disposition in that centon.
She needed to maintain professionalism in her poise.
As she glanced to the side of where a corridor turned off from the main thorough-fair, she thought she saw Triton far ahead. He had a certain style in his walk. He turned his head to the side as he seemed to be looking for a door too. His dark brown hair moved with his quick head turn. Persephone felt her legs come to a standstill, as she gazed at him from a distance. She put her finger tips to her mouth, as though touching the place where their lips met last night. She experienced the sweet and lingering touch of his kiss, in her imagination once again. Trtion disappeared into the room up ahead. The little day dream was broken. Looking up ahead of herself, she finally saw Brie's office door. Straightening her tunic, and ensign pin, she appraoched the door and pressed the entry buzzer outside to request persmission to enter.

Finally, it arrived. A reply from the commander of the Callisto. It was simple and to the point.
Major,
Stop by and see me sometime this afternoon. My schedule is flexible.
Commander Sheba
Brie could let JustinB know during lunch, and hopefully the two of them would be able to see her together.
Keeping the door to her office open, Brie went back into her bedroom. The turboflush room door was still closed. How long can Amy spend in there? Brie wonder to herself. She picked up some of Trula's old clothes, placed them back on hangers, and neatly hung them in the closet. Man, was it hot in there! She checked the thermostat, the setting was normal, but she turned it down anyway. She'd have to call maintenance and have someone take a look at it.
The buzzer sounded. Normally she left the door unlocked during the day but after hearing that Roxzanna-Rizou was snooping around the ship she thought she'd better lock it. Brie returned to her office, closing the bedroom door behind her, and answered. A nervous looking ensign with a slightly distant look in her eyes stood in front of her and saluted immediately. Brie saluted back. "At ease, ensign," she said. "Please come in and take a seat." She pointed to the chair by her desk before sitting in her own chair. "This is just an informal meeting, and trust me, I'm not half as bad as you've probably heard. Let me give you a little bit of background. In the 28 yahrens since the destruction of the colonies, Gold Squadron was the first totally new squadron formed. Colonial Charybdis was CO the first yahren, I've been its leader ever since. There is a great amount of pride and integrity amongst our members, and I expect each and every person to live up to a certain standard. If you're not willing to live up to my expectations and the expectations of the other members of Gold Squadron then you might as well leave now. Unless it's an absolute emergency I expect that orders will be followed without question, and you'd better be pretty darn sure that I would agree that it was an emergency. I've been doing this for a long time, remember that I know what I'm doing. You're a warrior first, everything else comes after that. I'm not saying that you can't have a personal life, but if it's something that will affect the squadron I want to know about it. For example, I don't discourage dating between members of the squadron, but if you are seeing someone else from Gold I need to know about it so that I won't make certain assignments. I don't discourage drinking either, I understand that everyone needs to unwind, but make sure you have time to get the alcohol out of your system before any scheduled patrols. If we're hit with an unexpected Cylon attack then there's sometimes a few people who are flying hung-over but there's not much I can do about the unexpected. But that's something to keep in mind if you are drinking. There is no illegal drug use allowed, and it's ship's policy to hold random drug testing. Anyone caught using drugs will be prosecuted, most likely convicted, and at the very least sentenced to community service, possibly the Prison Barge. But I'm sure that won't be a problem with you."
Brie paused, thinking. "I'm, of course, squadron CO. Captain Skyler is my Second In Command, Captain Amy is my Third Officer." And she certainly takes long enough in the turboflush room! "Skyler is on medical leave, so Amy is acting SIC and Captain Hawke, who is my aide, is acting Third Officer. If you have any questions about day to day things or viper assignments Hawke is the person to see. There are a couple more things I need to go over with you but before I do, do you have any questions? Feel free to ask whatever you want to or speak your mind. There are no stupid questions, and nothing you can say that I haven't heard before. It's just the two of us." Since Amy is taking forever in the turboflush room.

Amy came out of the turboflush room, refreshed from a shower and wearing nothing but a towel around her middle. She opened the bedroom door and wandered into the front room.
"Hey Maaaa-umm-major" she said, freezing when she noticed a visitor seated across the desk from Brie. "Meeting, huh? Ha. Uh, I'll just go back here again and dry off...." She U-turned, her towel suddenly coming loose as she did. She clutched at the ends of it and disappeared into the bedroom, closing the door quickly but quietly. A moment later a hair dryer could be heard faintly...
