Status check....
I'm not trying to lay a guilt trip on anyone (well, maybe a little one lol), but where is everyone? I know that our story suffers from lulls on ocassion as they all do, with real life and other responsibilites keeping us from writing and playing. Heck, it happens to me too.
BUT, I think we have all lost sight of how unique our little family is here. Ever since Brie and Amy decided to take a well-deserved break, the momentum on the Callisto has vanished along with them. This is really frustrating. We have a very talented group of people here who share their creativity with us and inspire us to create ourselves.
Are we just going to sit back and let all that positive energy fly out the airlock because Brie isn't here to save our butts anymore? I, for one, want to show Brie and Amy how much they have encouraged me to be a better writer and storyteller. And that is just what I intend to do.
The possibilities are endless. All we have to do is find a little time to coax them into being.
This thread is just as much a roll call as a rallying cry. Logan is ready to do her part. Anyone else?
*as a note. If no one else has the time or passion for the story, at least let us know so we aren't in the dark as to your character's status. I plan to write a story for Logan and anyone is welcome to join in with me. Since Brie was our primary narrator and I've heard nothing about anyone else giving us story direction, I'm going with the flow and creating my own story. It will be true to the Callisto and all it's ideals. But I'm tired of sitting around waiting. This universe is too rich and important to leave dormant.

Good post, Logan. There are a lot of stories to be developed, but we need people willing to be involved and willing to read and stay up to date on the storyline. I've really enjoyed reading the Prisoner series, and am looking forward to more.
Unfortunately, my professional and personal circumstances remain muddled at the moment, so Lucian is currently on the Galactica in some intense training and effectively out of contact with the Callisto. I have hopes of completing "The Present" story someday, but for now, my abbreviated lunch period is over....

Thanks for the quick response, Tony! Like I said, real world stuff happens and is understandable. Thanks for letting us all know what you're up to and thanks for giving Lucian a status in the story so he is accounted for. I hope you're able to rejoin us soon!

Okay, I know that since I've been taking a break I may not really have the right to weigh in on this subject, but here goes. To make a story great you need three things:
1. Communication. You need to talk to each other, plan things out, read each other's emails. It's so obvious when this happens, even more obvious when it doesn't.
2. Time. You need to make the effort to check the board for new posts every day, even if you don't have time to post. It's too easy to get behind, and on average it only takes 2-5 minutes to read all the posts written on any given day.
3. Respect. After all these years I can't believe that I still need to say this. Respect your fellow players. Treat them the way you want to be treated. Read what they write, even if you're not in that story. We don't write for ourselves, we do it for everyone else.
Logan, I'm so glad that you've started this topic. If anyone can get things going again, it will be you. I hope more people respond, it's been really sad to watch the Callisto shrink away the past couple of months.

Thanks for the support, Paula. You have been my inspiration and unofficial mentor for a long time (unofficial in that you have been an unwitting mentor as I never asked you to take on the daunting task LOL).
And while I appreciate the confidence in my motivational abilities, I can't do it all by myself, hence why I made this post. We used to ahve at least 2, sometimes 3, different plotlines going on at the same time. If people had trouble keeping up THEN, they ahd an excuse. But NOW there is currently only ONE plotline that is moving (slowly, but surely!) and it only takes a couple of minutes to read what has been posted.
Your 3 points are KEY to survival and a good story running smoothly. We have to communicate through PMs/emails on what we are doing. It is much easier to know what you're doing in relation to other characters in a plotline beforehand, then it is to be corrected and have to go back in and edit because you didn't pay attention.
We have many talented writers on this board, which is what drew me in to the Callisto family in the first place. There are PLENTY of other fan RPG sites that I could be writing on, but I chose this one because of the people here and what they had to offer.
Please post here, my fellow Callisto writers and let's work on making this the best fracking Battlestar RPG out there!

;)Right on Lisa! I agree totally with what you're saying here. Understandably I know only too well how real life at times must take precedence over other matters, and we must deal with the situations at hand. I 've had the toughest last five sectars in my life ever. I shall not spill about them, for I am not the only one with concerns and challenges in my life. We are all finding our way through life. But the whole point about the Callisto is that we get to forget about our troubles or problems or weaknesses while we write for our characters and collaborate with the many talanted and fantastic writers on the board! We are all an inspiration to eachother to develope our characters and stories upon each post. This is a wonderful family to be a part of, and indeed, we should not let it fade away. Certainly, I have had a hard time posting of late, and the Lords of Kobol know I have missed it. Only due to my very demanding responsibilites currently, and also trying to get back into my actual work with my website which I have slipped back with since September last year, because of family and personal matters. Now at least, I have made time for my art again and slowly regaining my inspiration to create new things, plus re-build my life once again. But, I have always kept ideas flowing through my head of where I want to take my character, and the new adventures she will share with other writers. I am making my best effort to get back into the swing it! Getting us back to the Callisto was a good start, I think. (BTW, if I'm late for the milk and cookies party, it's because, Brik is hogging my soap in the turbo wash.... ;D) "Give it back Brik!!" "Logan...let's make his hot water go suddenly cold..." Ahh yes...back to our antics.... My best regards to everyone, and so good to see you Brie!

Hey everyone. I'm still around but life is kicking my in the rear end and it's got me on the ground right now, but I'm fighting back!!! I'm up for a new job that will make my life SOOOOOO much better but I'm waiting to hear right now. I interviewed this past Monday and it went really well, so we'll see. Please pray for me that I get this job and once I do, I think I will have a lot more time to come back and get involved again. Only thing is, I won't be able to devote much time until then and that will be in August, so it will still be a bit of a wait. Have you all seen that new ad up on the top of the site?? It appears that NBC is adding whole classic BSG episodes at NBC.com!!!! Here's the direct link to the site: www.nbc.com/Vintage_Shows/Battlestar_Galactica/

HI all, without giving out to much information, I want to say I am back. The last few months I have been somewhere I don't want to talk about openly as I find it frustrating and highly embarresing. Just as soon as I get a grip on whats going on in the storyline I will be back posting as I was before this mishap.
Justin
P.S I hope everyone is healthy and doing well

Thanks for checking in, Justin! Glad you're back among us and looking forward to your renewed presence.
Ok gang, I have started a post and PMed everyone with ideas. Feel free to jump in and PM me if you have any questions.
I will be checking the board everyday (where I can) and my plan is to post at least every other day. It only takes a few minutes to read the posts right now because we only have a few people posting.
Looking forward to it!! Jump in wherever and have fun!
