Lucian
"Commander Sheba!"
The shout resonated across the bridge. Heads turned toward the communications center where one of the bridge officers was standing with her hand pressed to the headphone. "There's an in-coming message that's being broadcast wide band from one of the Cylon vessels. Recording."
Another voice over the comm systems said, "Prepare to jump, five microns." Another said a moment later, "CQ has entered jump. Callisto jumps in three microns...two microns...one micron...jump sequence initiated."
On the bridge, the change in ship locomotion was not really evident from the sound or feel, though in the forward port, the stars at the extreme sides of the screen could be seen to be shifting positions relative to one another, unlike only microns before.
"The message? You said it originated from one of the Cylon Base-Ships. What was it?" asked Sheba.
The comm officer fumbled with the controls, finally broadcasting the sound on the bridge comm.
The thin, raspy, almost sobbing voice of a human, barely intelligible rose above the statico:
"...tar Callisto. Calling Battlestar Callisto. Do you read me? Thi..........artinzi. Please don't lea.......said you would, but I thought you'd com......"
"That's it, Commander."
"Did you receive all of it? Can you clean up the rest of it?"
"I'll try, Ma'am, but I think that's all we got. We entered the jump at the end, cutting off anything further."
Major Lucian looked at Commander Sheba as she gripped the rail, steadying herself. That voice sounded vaguely familiar, but he wasn't sure where he'd heard it before. Sheba released the rail, ordered a hard copy of the transcript brought to her, and she went into her ready room. Lucian turned to other business, checking the status of the newly returned Warriors and Vipers.
At the edges of the screen, more stars slowly shifted their positions as the CQ and the Battlestar Callisto put more distance between themselves and the miserably dull giant red star that was Blasannic.
* * *
On the sheet of paper were six numbers with two digits each. Much had been sacrificed, including one brave Warrior and more equipment than she wanted to know, to obtain these numbers that would lead the Callisto to the rest of the fleet.
In the solitude of her ready room, Commander Sheba positioned a crystal cube on her desk, and shone a light on one side. It had been a gift from Commander Apollo several sectars before the Callisto separated from the fleet in the Shonada system. That was seemingly a lifetime ago. Casting the light on the cube created a shadow on the wall beyond, with a number of dark spots caused by the almost imperceptible flecks within the crystal’s matrix. Turning the crystal one side at a time, she counted the dark shadows projected from each face, and wrote down the number.
Three old books were spread out to the side. They had been gifts from Apollo as well, though their subject matter meant nothing to her. As far as she was concerned, they served one purpose only, and they were about to fulfill it. She had opened the first to the page corresponding to the first number minus the number of dots. The second and third were open to similar pages corresponding to the second and third numbers as modified by the number of dots divided by two and by three respectively. Using the first book and the fourth number, she counted the words from the top of the indicated page. Soon, she was writing down ever other letter. After finishing the page, she went back through and struck a sequence of letters, ending with a single word.
She repeated this with the second and third books. Her fingers flew over the adjacent computer keyboard, entering numbers, and she watched the star maps appear. Like much of what was required of the Colonial military, she hated the fact that this exercise had been necessary, but she understood why. Because of the Callisto’s assigned job as rear guard of the fleet, Apollo had long feared that the potential outcome of the Callisto being lost or captured by the Cylons. If the Cylons located the information on the fleet’s scheduled destination, all could be lost. For a moment, Sheba considered that it was almost humorous that thoughts of that nature had rarely crossed Apollo’s mind until he took command of the Galactica, but now, with the responsibility of protecting the fleet on his shoulders, he could hardly think otherwise. The elaborate message system that the fleet’s intelligence arm had developed at Apollo’s orders was the result. If, by some chance, the fleet had already been forced to leave the assigned system, Sheba would be forced to find yet another monument on yet another planet, and go through the cycle again. She hoped that would not be necessary.
About a centar later, she returned the cube and the books to the shelf, turned off the lamp, and, with the real coordinates of the fleet in hand, she smoothed her uniform and prepared to return to the bridge. Assuming her calculations were correct, the Callisto would be joining the fleet in just a few sectons, after only one more jump to throw off any pursuing Cylons. Hopefully...
She looked over the bridge, then turned to look out the front view port. One distant star, centered in the window, was slowly increasing in size.

Hawke
I noticed after the last mission that I was pretty much of a non-factor. I went back to my quarters, which were fortunately private, and turbowashed & put on a clean uniform. I thought about Rose. I wonder what she's doing? Would she even remember me? Or would she think I was lost on some damn fool one way mission that I normally volunteer for? I got out my box of medals that I recieved over the years. I picked up my Colonial Gold Star Cluster that I recieved during the Nomen water scandal. That's where I really lost Rose, I think. I sighed. She just didn't understand me. I did what I had to do in the line of duty. Maybe it was for the better that she & I split up. Then I smiled thinking of all the great times she & I had. I remembered the time I woke up in Med Lab where she was sitting by my bed after my viper control panel exploded. I absent mindedly stroked the side of my face where the doctors had repaired my burned face. She had her face burned as a child in the attack of the colonies. "Quit feeling sorry for yourself,Hawke." I said to myself. I put the CGSC medal away & put my box away. I got up and left my quarters. I headed down to the flight simulators to bone up on my flight skills. I wanted to become better than what I was on that last mission. I went through 4 centars of flight sim missions. When they ended I got down off of the sim I was in and I took off my helmet, and when I turned around,Rose was just coming into get her sim time in. Her face turned absolute white. "By the Lords of Kobol... It can't be!" she mumbled.

Rose
Rose wasn't expecting to run right into Hawke so suddenly like this. She wasn't sure what to expect now that the two of them had run into one another now after all of this time. Not knowing what to do right away, Rose backed up towards the wall a little in disbelief that she had come face to face with the man she thought she once new and loved until he started closing doors on her on several things. Rose had hoped she was helping Hawke at first and thought that they were making progress with one another on several subjects until the mission in dealing with the water shortage and the Nomen.
"What are you doing here? Why have you suddenly reappeared after all this time?," Rose asks shakely. Hawke took a step towards Rose, but she wasn't ready for that and she backed away in the only way she could in moving to one side of the wall some since she was already up against the wall to a point. "I'm back on active duty now. I'm working on getting back into my rare form of piloting. At least I hope to get back to that point. I've been keeping to myself while I have not been on active duty," Hawke says in response to Rose's questions.
Rose unable to think clearly started looking around for away to escape, in hopes of finding a place to try and think things through some. Hawke had reappeared so suddenly, Rose wasn't sure how to handle things. "I've gotta go. I can't do this now," Rose shakely says as she darts off down the corridor not knowing where she was heading right then. All she was thinking about right then was putting some distance between her and Hawke, for she needed time to think things over.
Running for what seemed like forever, Rose finally stops in her tracks and starts looking around a little to get her bearings and figure out where she could go and think things over for awhile. Seeing that she was not that far from the O'Club, Rose walks the short distance to the O'Club and walks inside. Once inside, Rose heads over towards an empty table.

Hawke
I take a step towards Rose & say "Rose.. I.." "I can't do this.. Not right now..." She runs away. "Rose... Please don't go...Dammit!" She's too far away to hear me. I let out an audible sigh... the other people in the sim room look at me wondering what's going on. "As you were, this is none of your damn business." I grumble. I walk out of the sim room & stow my flight gear in my quarters. I head down to the rec hall to get into a game of pyramid. I know there's ALWAYS a game going on. I walk in and there's a flurry of activity. Games of intergalactic pool, darts, and various other gambling games are going on. I look for a pyramid game. I find one with 4 people playing. I sit & watch for awhile. After about 6 hands someone gets up to leave. Another of the players look at me and gestures to the vacated seat. "Well?" he asks. I smile and take the seat. "What's the stakes?" I ask. "No limit full deck pyramid. 25 cubit ante. You in?" "Sure why not?" I say. I ante up and start playing. After what seemed like centars, I'm up 2500 cubits. Starbuck would be proud. At about that time Commander Sheba comes in. I spot her and offer her to join us. She eyes my stash and says "No thanks,Hawke. I know when I'm being hustled..." "Aww C'mon Commander... Just for a couple of hands?" "Thanks, but no thanks." "Deal me out guys. Thanks for the game..." I say. They grumble a bit and I collect my winnings. I get up and ask the Commander if I can join her for a bit. "Sure, what's up?" We take a seat. "Commander, I would like to formally request a new Scarlet Class viper with C.O.R.A. capabilities. I can scrounge up the laser pumps and any other parts I need from my old viper. How about it?" "Why would you need such a viper?" she asks. "Just to keep ahead of the game. My viper now has been upgraded to death. How about it,Commander?" I ask.

Lucian
Commander Sheba looked at Hawke and said, "Lieutenant, it is good to have you back aboard the Callisto after your leave on the Caprican Questar, but you must remember, during your leave, much has happened on the Callisto. We have a severe lack of spare parts for Vipers and other equipment, and unfortunately, almost 25 percent of our Vipers won't even fly because we don't have anything else from which to cannibalize parts. If all goes as expected now that we have the coordinates, we'll be rejoining the fleet soon, and I expect those problems will be corrected. For now, since Vipers are being shared by two and sometimes even three Warriors, modifications are not being allowed. You need to check with Major Brie on the status of your old Viper. It was reassigned during your absence, and I am not sure of its current status. I'm sorry."
Hawke started to protest, but Commander Sheba had to waive him off, as she was returning to the Bridge after a short break.
As she walked, she thought about that report that Lieutenant Aliana had filed almost a yahren ago. Much of the trouble with the Vipers could be tied directly to what was outlined in the report, IF one had access to the original inventory in its entirety. The missing--no, make that stolen--parts had never been found, and the culprit, whoever it was, most likely still walked the corridors of her ship. It was possible that lives had been lost as a result, and if she ever discovered the thief, she would make that person regret the deed.

Killjoy
Now that the jump had been made and the crew of the shuttle had made it home, a little beat up but safe, he decided to take the time to get more comfortable with the Callisto's lay-out and started to wonder about her decks.
As he walked his mind went in many directions. He thought of Lieutenant Ursiaon and what he did to draw the Cylons away from the Callisto. He wondered if the time came for him to act in such away if he could show the same resolve as his fallen comrade. Killjoy hardly knew the man but felt as if he had lost some one very important to him.
Deep in thought Killjoy found himself just a few steps away from Medlab as he rounded a corner. There seemed to be a conversation between Major Brie and Captain Amy going on just a short distance past the door.
Not wanting anything to do with Medlab or the ranking officers he quickly turned to avoid contact with them and any medical personnel who may be lurking in the area.
He had manged to avoid the Doc. this long, having never reported for his evaluation prior to his first mission or when he came aboard for that matter. The dizzy spells were getting worse as days passed and there was no way he was going to let anyone know what’s going on. He had flown sick before and this would be no different. Just a few centars from now he would be back in his Viper on another patrol.
Struck by yet another spell of dizziness and blurred vision he tried to but some distance between himself, the officers and Medlab.
"If I can just get around the corner, everything will be fine."
He thought he heard himself say "Frack" as he felt the side of his head hit the deck plates. Then all went black.

Brie
Brie had just left the sickbay after talking to Artus when she thought she heard something. There was a voice, then a crash. She ran over to where it had come from to discover Lieutenant Killjoy from Black Squadron. He had passed out. "Med Tech!" she screamed, hurrying back to towards the sickbay. One of the techs heard her and came running. "Over there," Brie pointed, "it's Lieutenant Killjoy." The medtech checked him, he was unconscious but breathing. They loaded Killjoy onto a gurney and rushed him to the sickbay.
* * *
Artus
Artus was sitting as comfortably as humanly possible without exposing himself too much. He thought back upon his meeting with Amy.
"Well, that could have gone better." he said to himself.
He then thought of his meeting with Brie. That could also have gone a lot better. She did look kind of hot though.
Well that's gotta be a first. You finally meet your commanding officer and the first thing you do is check her out. He also hoped that Brie hadn't noticed the bulge under the blanket. Great going Artus, he thought to himself. Just remember what mom said, stick to one girl at a time or people would get hurt. Mom was usually right about those things. He missed her.
But he still regretted the way things went with Amy. He shouldn't have kissed her. She said she needed time, so he should have given her time. But that was the way Artus was. Whenever he ran into trouble he would either charm his way through it or blow it up.
Artus smiled again.
He sure liked blowing things up.
And that combined with the patientce of a small asmathic razorbug was a fine recipe for disaster.
He certainly hoped that he didn't completely ruin things with Amy by the way he had acted. He was worried he might have hurt her feelings. Then again he felt a very hollow pain in the centre of his chest. A longing feeling that just wouldn't go away.
Maybe he did love her. Maybe his life would never be complete without her. Then again, maybe it was just gas.
Just at that moment a medtech wheeled a gurney in with a warrior on it. Artus tried to look who it was.
* * *
Amy
As I left Artus's medbay room, I turned and nearly plowed into Major Brie! I hadn't seen her in so long, and it was good to see her, but my mind was on Artus and other things at the moment.
"Amy", Brie said, "want to compare notes on the iceball?"
"Huh?" I replied, still not concentrating on my friend and commanding officer.
"The iceball planet? The one we both just left?"
"Oh, sure", I said. I shook my head to snap out of the funk I was in, and focused on Brie.
"I ve got one stop to make", Brie said. "How about we meet in 15 centons. What do you think, my quarters or the O Club?"
"Your quarters", I answered quickly. I wasn't in the mood for mingling at the moment and some quiet time with a friend I hadn't seen in a while would be a good thing. The O Club could wait.
"Okay, see you there in 15 centons." Brie walked away, and I noticed she was heading for Artus's room. I wondered what was going on, but I didn't need to know. Not everything that went on was my business, but I wondered about Artus and the way I had hastily left his room. I hoped his feelings weren't hurt, but I couldn't help it. Like I told him, things were complicated.
* * *
I walked toward Major Brie's quarters, my thoughts slowly getting themselves in order. We had a lot to talk about, having both been on the same ice planet so recently. But I had more on my mind. Much more. And though she was a superior officer she was also a good friend, maybe it was time to confide in her, and tell her just how messed up my personal life had become.
I didn't expect her to give me the solution, but maybe by getting it all out I could sort things through. And a little advice wouldn't hurt if she had any to give.
I reached Brie's quarters, and let myself in. I had roomed here with Brie for a while, and though those were dangerous times for both of us, I had also enjoyed the time spent with her. It had been a long times since we'd had the chance to talk. I looked forward to it.
* * *
Brie
Brie had told Amy that she would meet her in 15 centons, but it was 35 later when she finally made it to her quarters. "Hold on one more micron," she told Amy. She tried to contact Major BatGal on the intercomm, but BatGal wasn't answering so she left her a message about Killjoy.
"So," she said to Amy at last, "how have you been?" * * *
JustinB
I was about to leave the O'Club when she came in and sat by herself at the nearest table. I hadn't seen Rose like this for a while.
"What's wrong Rose?" I asked as I sat down next to her.
"Nothing I want to talk about just now," she replied as she placed her arms around me. I ordered a mug of Ale for her.
We sat for a little while talking about the skirmish we just had and also about Ursiaon's sacrifice. I suggested that we take a little walk. "That would be nice," Rose said.
We had only walked for a few centons when Rose opened up. "I bumped into Hawke. He tried to friendly but I wasn't ready to face after all this time. Anyway JustinB, I am lad to finally catch up with you after being apart for a while due to our missions. I have missed you so much. Lets see if we can find somewhere private."
With my arm around her shoulder we walked off together and I said to her, "Rose, I have missed you too. I am looking forward to spending time with you. We have a lot to catch up on."
With eagerness she said, "We sure have, but let’s stop off at my barracks so I can change into something more comfortable."

Rose and JustinB continued along the corridor that would lead them to the female barracks. It didn't seem to take all that long for them to reach the female barracks and Rose went inside while JustinB waited for her out in the corridor near the door. She quickly walks over to her bunk area and opens up the locker to see what she had placed there that she could change into that wasn't a uniform. Rose didn't have many things that weren't uniform related, so her choices were slim on what she could wear. After a few microns pass, Rose decides on a pale green dress that came down just below her knee's some. After making sure she looked presentable and her uniform was placed in her locker, Rose headed back out to where JustinB was waiting for her.
Rose walks out of the of the female barracks and over to wear JustinB was leaning against the opposite while waiting for her to change into something more relaxing. JustinB stands back up when he see's Rose coming towards him and he smiles. Taking his hand, Rose pulls JustinB along with her and they continue walking along some so that they could chat more.
"Where would you like to go now JustinB?," Rose asks softly looking up at him. "It should be somewhere that we can chat without any one interrupting us any also.
* * *
JustinB
Rose looked fantastic out of uniform and in the pale green dress. Now all I had to do now was find somewhere private. We walked along for a while with no luck. As we passed the O'Club I remembered a place where with a little luck might still be deserted. After a few centons we had arrived.
"JustinB, we are we?" Rose asked.
"Rose, this is where some Frodarian women were staying before they transferred over to the Caprican Questar," I said, "I attended this place with Holodoc and we ended up helping one of the women. Now for the time being it is ours."
"I like that idea. It has been so long since we have done this, you and me alone. Since we are in the middle of a jump, there are no cylons to ruin our time together." she said as she sat closer to me.
It was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. We embraced each other and kissed. All the recent battles just slipped away into nothingness.
'I wish this would last forever' I thought to myself.

Najinn Najinn had stowed his gear and sorted out his post mission report and finally got free.
He was anxious, he wanted to find Amy and see if she wanted to chat, he so wanted to chat with. He had not seen her properly in ages.
He wondered if she flet anything for him anymore. Time had passed by and with time passes emotions and he wondered.
Well it was time to find out.
He took a slow walk down to med bay to see if she was still there. She wasn;t badly injured after all, which was sucha relief. Pullingher out of the shuttle was all he thought of, and he was glad she was ok.
He walked into Med bay and stopped dead in his tracks.
Amy was sat leaning over Artus and kissing him. Najinn stopped dead in his tracks.
It was like being winded and kicked at the sametime. He just had not been thinking and then there she was. He just stopped dead in his tracks!
Ok he thought, pull it together. He turned, walked out of med bay and went into the corridor.
He leaned against the bulk head. He let out a sigh and just tried to collect his thoughts.
He then heard Brie and Amy bump into each other outside Med Bay entrance. He saw Amy walk off towards Brie's quarters.
Brie walked into Med Bay. What do I do he thought. Well lets do what I wanted to do, lets catch up with Amy. Lets see how she is.
Najinn headed off towards Bries Quarters.
He approached the door and knocked.
It seemed like an age, an ice age, he nearly laughed but held it in as the door opened.
He had a huge smile on his face, that just got larger as Amy was stood in front of him.
"Hi Amy, I wanted to see how you are."
"I hope I'm not intruding, I just wanted to catch up with you, see how things are and well say hello. You know it is so good to see you, I mean it is really really god to see you."
He leaned forward hugged Amy and kissed her on the cheek. He showed all the signs of afection he could without making her feel uncomfortable, he hoped she wasn't uncomfortable seeing him.
He waited for her reply...... * * * Amy I heard the knocking, and went to the door to answer it. This wasn't my quarters, so I expected it to be someone for Major Brie. Thought it might even be Charybdis, but he seemed glued to the bridge for the long haul. I was surprised to see Najinn standing there as the door slid open. He had a huge smile on his face, that just got larger.
"Hi Amy, I wanted to see how you are", he said.
"I hope I'm not intruding, I just wanted to catch up with you, see how things are and well say hello. You know it is so good to see you, I mean it is really really good to see you."
He leaned forward, hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. He clearly didn't see the steam that must have been coming out of my ears by this point. I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into the room, slamming him against the door as it slid shut behind him. His huge smile was gone now.
"What in the world were you thinking?" I snapped at him. "You fracking stow your gallmonging affections when we're on a mission! Calling me sweetheart over the comlink? Are you completely nuts, or just crazy?"
His jaw dropped open either in shock or to say something, but I didn't give him the chance. "Do you know what I'm going to go through because of that" I said as I glowered at him. "How humiliating! I have a fracking rank, you know. Higher than yours in case you didn't notice. Ever hear of the term 'Captain'?" I realized I was still holding his collar, and I took my hands away in disgust. "How in hades am I supposed to command if the people under me all start addressing me as 'hun'?"
Just then Major Brie walked in from the other room. "What's going on here Amy?"
"Oh nothing, nothing at all, Major" I said in an innocent tone of voice. "Looks who's here". I gestured toward Najinn. "Didn't you want to see him about something, Major Brie? What was it you mentioned, disobeying an order or something? I'll leave you to it."
I spun back around on Najinn. "Excuse me!" I snapped. He slid silently away from the door. I palmed the exit switch and stalked out, leaving him alone with the Major. As I stomped down the hall I could feel my heart softening already, but I couldn't let my authority be undermined any further than it was.
It suddenly dawned on me how Charybdis must have felt during all the times I approached him or criticized him. How many of those times did other warriors think he just couldn't handle his girlfriend? How many times did I make him look like Najinn had made me look? It's amazing how quickly and heavily guilt can hit you. As bad as I felt for having to tear into Najinn, I suddenly felt a lot worse. But the big difference was Najinn had it coming to him, and he got it. Though I'd used my personal access to Charybdis for official business many times, Charybdis never had taken it out on me, though I'm sure I had it coming a thousand times over. He had come close that last time we had fought, but he never had followed through.
I wondered why. * * *

Marcus Finding that I just could not get to sleep I decided to go for a walk. I headed out of the barracks. I happened to see Amy heading down the hall and see looked mad at something. “Hello Captain what’s up? You look a little mad. Can I help with anything? My mother always told me that talking about what is bother you can always help. She also told me I was a good listener. Would you like to talk about it if not, do you want to go catch a drink? By the way thanks”
Amy looked at me and asked “Thanks for what”. I responded “For nudging me in the right direction. Stadia is a wonderful person.” “Now how about that talk and drink? You look like you need it.” * * * Charybdis The jump had commenced and the ship was brought back to a state of normal alert, if there was any such thing for us.
We had seen the Cylons again and it was unnerving. Their experiments with new technology was frightening, it only meant that we could not stop with ours either.
Sheba had ordered me to put together a complete report for her with all known information compiled from the flight leader's reports. Major Brie's was due soon and the other flight leaders were hard at work on their reports.
In the meantime, I asked SHeba if I could go work on the report in my quarters. I had been on the bridge an inordinate amount of time during that mission and I was due a break, albeit a working break.
With permission, I headed back to my quarters to change into something comfortable and settle in with a bunch of scans and written papers to begin compiling the reports... * * * Brie Major Brie couldn’t have been more surprised to see Lt. Najinn in her quarters, talking with Captain Amy. "What's going on here Amy?"
"Oh nothing, nothing at all, Major," Amy said in an innocent tone of voice. "Looks who's here". She gestured toward Najinn. "Didn't you want to see him about something, Major Brie? What was it you mentioned, disobeying an order or something? I'll leave you to it."
Amy spun back around on Najinn. "Excuse me!" she snapped. He slid silently away from the door. Amy palmed the exit switch and stalked out, leaving him alone with the Major.
It was a tense moment. Brie could feel Najinn’s confusion and embarrassment. But Brie knew as well as anyone how difficult it could be to be taken seriously as a female in a position of authority. Brie had the added advantage of her age and experience. Amy deserved her promotion, but she was younger than a lot of the people she now outranked. It would be a difficult transition for a lot of people, Najinn included.
“Lieutenant,” Brie said slowly, avoiding his eyes. Najinn was well known as a flirt, and Brie was sure that he had even tried to charm Commander Sheba. “I had ordered for Gold Squadron to land in the other landing bay. The viper techs and the landing crew are equipped to handle emergency situations, warriors are not. Your being there could have cost the shuttle crew their lives.”
“Sorry, Major, but I thought...”
“It’s not your job to think,” Brie cut him off. “Not when an order has been given. I’ll let you off with just a warning THIS TIME, Lieutenant, but I don’t want to see a return of your past behavior.” She looked up and smiled at him. “It’s good to have you back, Najinn. Things have not been the same without you. But you’re going to have to give Amy some room. She’s been promoted to Captain, and she’s fighting for every ounce of respect that she so richly deserves.” She showed Najinn towards the door. “There are a lot of people back in the barracks who have missed having you around. Why don’t you go get reacquainted with them?” She opened the door and watched as Najinn walked down the hall. He would have driven her crazy a long time ago if he didn’t remind her so much of her husband. * * * Amy I was still steamed as I stalked down the corridor after leaving Major Brie's quarters. Maybe I should have stayed. I was really looking forward to talking with Brie, who was a trusted friend as well as my commanding officer. I was hoping for some advice, or at least someone to bounce things off of, but that wasn't going to happen now.
I looked up to see Marcus coming the other way.
"Hello Captain" he said, "what's up? You look a little mad. Can I help with anything? My mother always told me that talking about what is bothering you can always help. She also told me I was a good listener. Would you like to talk about it if not, do you want to go catch a drink? By the way thanks."
"Thanks for what?" I asked.
"For nudging me in the right direction. Stadia is a wonderful person. Now how about that talk and drink? You look like you need it."
I remembered our mission, and the concern Marcus seemed to have for Stadia, and that I'd pointed her out to him in the launch bay before the Callisto entered the jump. I nodded and smiled.
"I'm glad things are working out for you" I said. "And anyway, I should be thanking you."
"Why?" he asked.
"For calling me Captain" I replied. He still seemed a little puzzled. Maybe he was just one of the few that wouldn't try to take a shot at me after all that comlink business.
"Never mind" I said. "What I'm really in the mood for is something to eat. The O-club is going to be too jumping for me right now. Care to see if the mess hall has anything that passes for coffee and a burger? I'd like to hear more about you and Stadia. Anything with a happy ending sounds great to me." * * * Marcus "I'm glad things are working out for you" Amy said. "And anyway, I should be thanking you."
"Why?" I asked.
"For calling me Captain" Amy replied. I did not understand why Amy would say that she is after all a captain.
"Never mind" Amy said. "What I'm really in the mood for is something to eat. The O-club is going to be too jumping for me right now. Care to see if the mess hall has anything that passes for coffee and a burger? I'd like to hear more about you and Stadia. Anything with a happy ending sounds great to me."
“Sounds good to me. Lets go.” We got to the mess hall and got a burger and something that could technically pass for coffee. We grabed a tabel in the back. “Well captain were to start. After I headed out the door from the landing bay Stadia came out after me and we headed to the O-club for a drink we talked a while and finally decide to get out of there and went for a walk.” “Later we said good night and I headed to my bunk but I found I could not get any sleep. I still kept thinking about her.” “Man what a kiss.” “Oops, sorry abut that.” “ So what about you. How are you doing?”

Amy I was enjoying my burger very much while I listened to Marcus talk about his time with Stadia. I was really very hungry, more than I had realized. Even the almost-coffee tasted decent, a sure sign of near-starvation. I took a sip as Marcus talked.
"...Later we said good night and I headed to my bunk but I found I could not get any sleep. I still kept thinking about her. Man what a kiss. Oops, sorry about that. So what about you. How are you doing?"
I laughed at that last part, about the kiss. Clearly here was a guy falling in love. That was great. He was a great guy, and Stadia deserved some happiness for a change. It put me in a better frame of mind.
"How am I doing?" I repeated. "Fine I guess. It's strange how you can leave here, go out and nearly not come back, then get back just to find how nothing has changed. I wonder if there's any real point to our survival."
Marcus didn't seem to like what I was getting at. "Oh, don't worry" I said quickly. "I'm fine. I've just got a lot going on, and I've just got to deal with it. Here's some advice, if you want some."
"Sure" he said.
"Don't aspire to be a female Captain." I watched his face, and started to laugh as it sunk in after a moment. It was good to laugh, though it did remind me of Artus, and how I'd left him alone in medbay. That thought took a little of the joy out of my mood.
"My burger's all cold and eaten" I said, looking at my empty plate. "I for one could go for another, or at least some fries if there's any. We've got to compare notes on that landing by the way. I've got a report to file, and since noone's brought in a shuttle like we did before, the engineers are going to be very interested." * * * Marcus Amy said "My burger's all cold and eaten" I said, looking at my empty plate. "I for one could go for another or at least some fries if there's any. We've got to compare notes on that landing by the way. I've got a report to file, and since no one's brought in a shuttle like we did before, the engineers are going to be very interested."
I said “Looks like they still have some fries left. I’ll grab them and we will get to comparing notes.” After I got the fries Amy and I started to compare what had happened. “What I can remember is that we shut down at the outer marker and drifted in. I tried to keep the shuttle straight as I could before we shut the engine down. About half way there we started to roll. I guess it might have been the weight in the shuttle that started the roll or something I did. I don’t know on that one.” “One can never tell with a flying brick.” “As far as the engines you and Artus had a better look from back there.” “Do you know how Artus is doing I have not gotten the chance to check in on him?” “I am a least glad we all made it back to the Callisto in one piece except for some bruises.” * * * Amy The fries looked great. Amazing what those chefs could do with rapidly dwindling supplies. I thought of the agro ships, and my parents. If we'd ever get hooked up with the fleet again we'd have all the food we'd need. Or it would at least seem that way compared to what we had now. I looked forward to seeing my parents again. I had so much to tell them.
"Artus will be fine" I said, my answer maybe a little too short. I half-smiled. "Last time I saw him he had plenty of energy, that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if he got out of there to tip back a mug or two at the O-club."
"Is that why you wanted to come here instead?" Marcus asked shrewdly.
"Aha" I laughed. "You are pretty perceptive, Marcus. Yeah, like I said, I need to deal with a bunch of things, Artus included."
I dipped a fry in ketchup. "That's what I'll have in my report" I said, referring again to the shuttle. "I knew we'd started to roll, I just wasn't sure if you knew the cause. Something might not have been tied down as securely as we'd thought back in the cargo hold. Those were some crazy moments. Artus and I might have missed something. And with the crash, we'll never know, probably."
"I did want to tell you" I continued, "that I'm giving you a very high commendation for your conduct on the mission. Your work on the snowsled, and your piloting skills, were top notch. It was a pleasure having you around during some pretty stressful times." * * * Brie After he talk with Najinn Brie was a little bit worried about Amy. She wasn't in the Officers' Club or the Weight Room, Brie finally saw her sitting with Marcus in the Mess Hall. She approached their table. "Captain," Brie said, purposely using Amy's new rank, "everything okay?" Amy nodded. "Good. If you need me, I'll be catching up on that never ending paperwork. Speaking if which, there's a report that you need to file."
"Marcus and I are going over the details now," Amy replied.
"Good," Brie said. She turned her attention towards Marcus. "Nice flying, Lieutenant. You really came through."
"Thank you, Major," Marcus replied.
"And I'll let you know about the extra shifts that you'll be taking, to help pay for the shuttle. Those things aren't cheap, it's coming out of your pay. Enjoy your meal." Brie left quickly, wondering if Amy would tell him that she was only joking. * * * Amy I'd forgotten to mention something that Major Brie had brought up.
"I wouldn't worry about the cost of the shuttle, Marcus." I said with a straight face. "I hear they take out only a few cubits a week till it's paid for."
I sat back laughing as I nibbled on another fry. "Poor Artus, he'll have to kick in for the shuttle, plus the snowram he torched. That's what's great about being in command, I just pin it on you guys."
I grew serious again. "I meant what I said, though. A top notch job. You could be in line for a medal." * * *

“Well thank you captain. I appreciate that very much.” “As for the roll I have no idea what caused it. I may have to spend some time in the sim to find out. If I get the time with the extra duties I will have to pull.” I smiled and grabbed another fry.’ “I would like to also thank you for being out there with us as well. You helped me out a lot. You kept a cool head in all that we went through. I don’t think I could have done it with out your help. You deserve some of the credit for getting us back in one piece.” “In my eyes you deserve the title of captain.” “As far as I am concerned you have earned my respect and I would follow you in to hades if you asked.” “Well I had better go and see what I need to do to pay off the shuttle.” “If that is all I will see you later.” “I will let you catch up with the major.” “Oh and thank you again.” I smiled back at Amy and left the mess hall. * * * Killjoy Killjoy woke and felt the pain in the side of his face and winched when he brushed his hand over the spot. As his eyes grew used to the light he took a look around and and got a bit of a start when he saw the guy in the next bed looking back at him. Then it hit him that he was in Medlab.
Throwing his legs over the edge and sitting up he started to speak to the other warrior but was cut off when the other guy spoke first.
"You get caught up in that mess in the landing bay?"
"No, just a lil problem I really dont want to talk about" Killjoy answered.
"Well the doc will be in here in a bit, then eveyone will know. Im Lt. Artus, Gold Squadron." he said as he put out a hand.
Killjoy shook his hand and spoke "Killjoy, Black, nice to meet ya. You say the Doc dont know Im here yet?"
"Yea they called her, shes just busy with some one else"
Killjoy had to ask "How did I get Here?"
"Major Brie found you and called for a tech."
"Oh thats just grand, now how am I going to get this covered? He look at the time. "Frack, and on top of it all I missed my patrol."
Artus laughed, "I dont think theyll let you fly for a while."
"Yea thats what Im afraid of." Killjoy looked around."Ya say the doc dont know Im here?"
"Na, the tech that brought you in didnt know you and couldnt find any record of you ever being in Med before."
"Thats because I have not been in here before, and really dont plan on being here on centon longer than needed."
"Now how did you manage never to be in here before, how about when you came on....Killjoy cut him off.
"Look Artus, thats a very long story, and Ill be happy to tell you about it another time. But for now if youll just tell me where my uniform and weapon are Im going A.W.O.L. before the doc finds me."
Artus pointed to a lage locker on the far wall. "Our clothes are in there, but I think its a crazy plan. The Major knows you here."
Killjoy began to dress.
"Ya well Ill deal with that if and when im caught, But for now I need a drink, you going to just lay there and wait for the doc to come poke at ya or do you want to join me?"
Artus studied the situation a moment before he spoke "Killjoy Id love to go but im not really up to walking."
Killjoy pulled a Wheel chair from the rack on the wall and pushed the button that made it open. As the chairs mechanism lockced it open Killjoy smiled at Artus. "Come on, Ill drive."
Artus eased into the chair and the two made there way from the room and moved out of the area as soon as they could.
When they were a safe distance away Killjoy Spoke first. "Ya say Major Brie found me"?
"Yea she helped the tech bring you in and get your uniform off, Then told them to let her know when you came too, but she left before she told them you name?"
Killjoy shook his head and let out a sigh. "Frack"
Artus looked back over his shoulder and ask Killjoy. "Now what"?
"Oh nothing really, Just my luck a woman as pretty as the Major undresses me and I sleep through the whole thing".
The two try to control their laughter as they make their way to the officers club. * * * Stadia Stadia eyes the escapees as she opens the door. She says very loudly so everyone in the corridor can hear her. "Oh doc, you have two escapees on the loose." * * *

Killjoy As the two medlab fugitives were trying to make good there escape, and were convinced they had gotten away with it, There was a voice from somewhere behind them.
"Oh doc, you have two escapees on the loose."
Killjoy turned so fast in the direction of the voice that he forgot about the chair Artus was riding in and it rolled on a short distance before the safy device shut down its drive unit.
Artus spoke first. " Looks like we have been ambushed. Any Idea who she is?"
"None" Killjoy answered, "The insignia on her arm says shes from your squadron. But its those Captain's bars that have got me worried."
The female officer was now walking in the direction of the two "runaways". When she reached them she didn't say a word, just looked and waited for the explanation.
Killjoy and Artus started too speak at the same time with two different versions of what they were doing, when the Captain put up her hand to stop them.
"Look gentlemen, I want you to just take you time and come up with one good lie if you don't mind, I don't have all day."
Frustrated about being caught Killjoy gave the story a shot.
"Well Captain, The truth is it was my idea, I have this thing with doctors and really couldn't deal with being poked at, I was just in there because of a little slip and fall thing(ok he almost told the truth), And my buddy here just looked board so rather than waste all this quality time sitting on our hands we decided to go have a drink and come back when the doc wasn't quite so busy."
As he looked at her to gage her response a medtech walked up.
"What the .....What are you two doing out here, neither of you have been cleared to leave yet. Captain Stadia did you order these men out for some reason?"
"No I did not, in fact why don't you tell me what they were in her for." She was starting to look very unhappy.
The tech spoke up in a hurry. "Well Lt. Artus is in for several minor and on semi-serious injury as the result of the shuttle crash and Major Brie found this guy face down in the corridor about a centar ago. She said he just passed out right in front of her."
Now she was unhappy. "A slip and fall thing eh? Whats you name Lt?"
"Killjoy"
"You two get back in there and wait for the doctor, and I mean stay there. I will post a guard if you try this stunt again."
"Yes Captain!" the two spoke in unison as Killjoy switched on the drives of Artus's chair and turned it back the way they had came.
"And just so you two know" she stared "this incident will have to be reported to Major Brie and she will likely inform Major BatGal."
Killjoy leaned down a bit and spoke so only Artus could hear. "Ya now I'm starting to notice a trend with us."
Artus looked puzzled "What do you mean?"
"I just get the feeling we should avoid female officers in the future."
Artus laughed. "Well, in that case we may have a problem, I havent meet a woman yet who doesn't out rank us on this bird ."
Laughing Killjoy Said." Well there is always the civilian gals, and if you upset them you dont have to worry about that weapon on there hip or if they will be the one too shoot you down in the next patrol."
Killjoy spoke again
"I wish she would tell anyone other than Major Brie. Frack, why doesn't she just hand us over to the Cylons, at least then it would be a fair fight..... * * * Stadia "What the .....What are you two doing out here, neither of you have been cleared to leave yet. Captain Stadia did you order these men out for some reason?"
After ordering the tow escapees back to medbay, she turned back to the medtech and asked if they could take another lookat her ribs. They seemed to be bothering her more. * * * Brie Brie had just returned to her quarters when her comm buzzed. "What now?" she asked out loud before answering it. "Major Brie here," she said.
"Major, this is the sick bay," a voice on the other end said. "Captain Stadia just caught Lieutenants Artus and Killjoy trying to sneak out. I was told to inform you."
"Thank you, I'll be right there," Brie said. She sent another message to Major BatGal, since Killjoy was a member of Black Squadron, and left for the sick bay. She found it ironic that Stadia was the one who caught them sneaking out, since she wasn't off the hook for having left sick bay herself when she took the viper to help lead the shuttle back to the Callisto. * * * Killjoy After getting caught and returned to the Medlab, The two Lieutenants continued their talk.
"Well, what now Killjoy, How do we get out of this?"
"Artus, we dont, now we just sit here like good boys till the Majors get done chewing our six, then we let the doc have her way. Guess I should have thought this one out a little more."
"Yea me too. Whats your problem with the doc looking you over anyway?"
Killjoy Moved closer before he spoke.
"Its these blasted headachs and dizy spells. If the brass finds out they'll ground me for who knows how long, and with us running into the "Tin-heads" again I just cant let that happen."
"I see what you mean Killjoy, but looks like the jig is up, your caught."
"Yea, what I wouldnt give for us to happen up on a few stray Raiders right about now. Id rather go with our normal 10 to 1 odds with them than face the Doc."
The door opens and Major Brie walks in.
Killjoy speaks befor she does. "Major Brie, good to see you again, now before you get you pipes all heated up, all we did was try to skip out on a doctors appointment"....... * * *

Brie The door opened and Major Brie walked in.
Killjoy spoke before she did. "Major Brie, good to see you again, now before you get you pipes all heated up, all we did was try to skip out on a doctors appointment".......
“Stop right there, Lieutenant,” Brie interrupted. “I was the one who found you, and believe me it wasn’t a pretty sight. You were passed out cold, for Sagan’s sake. What would happen if you had been in a viper, with the rest of your flight counting on you?” Killjoy didn’t say anything. “Did anything show up on your last physical, Lieutenant?”
“Well, um, I actually haven’t had one since I came aboard the Callisto,” Killjoy stammered.
“You’re going to have one now,” Brie informed him. “You are NOT to leave sick bay until Doc Bkj has run every test she can think of on you. Maybe she can even make a few up. I’ll post a guard if I have to, and don’t think I won’t have you put in restraints if need be.”
“That won’t be necessary, Major,” Killjoy replied.
“And you,” Brie said, turning her attention to Artus, “I expect better from the members of Gold Squadron. If you EVER try to pull something this stupid again, you’ll find yourself checking the outside of the CQ for tylium leaks, or worse yet on turboflush cleaning duty. Do you understand?”
“Yes, Major,” Artus said quietly.
“Good,” Brie said. “Get some rest, you look like hades. Something tells me that I’m going to have to keep an eye on you.” She headed towards the door. "I sometimes feel like a babysitter instead of a squadron leader!" she said loudly as the door was closing. * * * Killjoy After Major Brie had left MedLab Dr Bkj came in and continued to beat Killjoy over the head with rules and regulations about medical protocols aboard the Callisto, and Mentioned something about reports being filed with the brass.
Killjoy had been in trouble with people in authority before and this would be no different. He always seemed to land on his feet in these matters and was sure he would again. However this health problem could mean the end of his military carrier and his return to the merchant fleet.
The Doc pulled out all the stops and ran every test known to modern medicine and even a few Killjoy was sure where just torture tactics. He had been poked and prodded and every part of his body examined. When all was said and done the Doc left and told him she would be back with the results as soon as the lab work was done.
Killjoy and Artus spoke of their past lives and how the came to be in the military and what plans they had for the future. At the top of both their lists were a few poker games and drinks, and of course as many willing females they could find.
After about two centars the Doc found her way back to Killjoy's bedside.
"Well Lieutenant, There is some good news and bad news. The good new is your going to live, bad news is, you're grounded for about three days while we treat you condition."
Killjoy spoke up in a hurry. " That’s it, three days, Doc I love you. But um..just what is my condition Doc?"
"Do you have any children Lieutenant?"
Killjoy looked very puzzled but happy. "No Doc, no kids, least none I'm aware of that is."
Doc Bjk was not impressed with his wit. She looked at him with a level of distaste and spoke.
"Well Lieutenant, You have been exposed to a stain of Borrilian Phage. It’s a harmless condition in Borrillian children that has mutated and now infects human children as well. It's very rare in adults, but given your resent adolescent behavior, I'm not really surprised you picked it up."
"Adolescent, Childhood, Childish. Hum, Hey, Artus you get the idea the ladies are trying to tell me something?"
"Now that you mention it Killjoy, I think you have been insulted!" The two laughed together with Artus hold his ribs to help control the pain.
She picked up a hypo gun and placed it to his neck, and injected him with a medication she explained would help with the symptoms. Then another to fight the virus. Just the thoughts of that stuff being forced into his body that way made Killjoy very uneasy. His problem with Doctors goes way back to a time as a child aboard the orphan ship, and to this day the mental scars remain.
"Now Lieutenant, if you want you flight status back, I want you back here in three days. In the mean time your not contagious so there is no reason to keep you here. If you have any more symptoms or blackouts at all get back here on the double, and by the way you can forget about that drink too. You think your sick now, mix a little alcohol with that stuff I just injected and you learn a whole new level illness.
Killjoy jumped up and grabbed his close and started for the door then paused and turned to face the Doctor.
"Hey Doc, I'm sorry. Lets just say the reason I left was due to past experiences with doctors. But the next time I need you Ill let you know right away." He turned and started to the door. "Oh, one more thing. If you don’t mind, can we keep this between the three of us, It could be rough on a guy when everyone finds out he was taken down by a kiddy disease. Think of the razzing I'd get"
"Sure Lieutenant, I won't tell anyone who does not need to know. Now get out of here, one centon you won't stay now you won't leave. I'll report you fit for light duty but no flying! Dont you even look at a Viper!"
"Thanks Doc I owe you on……"
She cut him off.
"Lieutenant, GO NOW!"
As he walked out he shook Atrus' hand, and told him he would catch up to him later. Then he heard the Doc on the com system, the voice on the other end sounded like Major Brie but he wasn’t sure…. * * * Brie Major Brie’s comm buzzed again. She felt like she was never going to get her report filed. “Major Brie here.”
“Brie, it’s Doc Bkj,” came the voice on the other end.
“Doc, how are our escapees?” Brie asked. There were few people on the Callisto that she respected as much as Bkj.
“Artus is finally resting, or at least pretending to rest. And I’ve released Killjoy to light duty, he needs to see me again in three days.”
“You’d better let Major BatGal know that as well,” Brie commented. “How is Killjoy? Did you find anything out?”
“This is for your ears only,” Doc said, although she knew she didn’t have to. “I ran every test I could think of. Good thing too, because one of those tests that I might not have normally run provided the diagnosis.”
“And...?”
“Get this,” Doc continued. “He has a strain of Borrilian Phage.”
Brie had to hold back the laughter. “Borrilian Phage? That’s a kids’ disease! What’s next, losing the rest of his baby teeth?”
“His teeth are fine,” Doc said. “I ran tests on them too. And in all fairness Borrilian Phage is possible in adults. Rare, but possible. And besides, he was ACTING like a child.”
“With you too, huh?” Brie said. “What is it with some of these male warriors? You and I are both Majors, for Sagan’s sake, but they think with a smile and baby-daggit eyes we’re going to melt just because we’re female. Give me a break.”
“I know what you mean,” Doc Bkj agreed. “Speaking of women that Killjoy will probably TRY to charm, I’d better fill Major BatGal in.”
“Thanks for the report, Doc,” Brie said. “Let me know what happens with his follow-up.” She turned off her comm and went back to work on her report. “Borrilian Phage,” she said out loud with a smirk on her face. * * *

Killjoy Killjoy went right to his bunk after he left Medlab. However sleep was out of the question, and before long he began to think about things aboard the Callisto. Particulary, the female officers he had been running into.
Capt. Stadia, seemed to be a by-the-book kinda gal. But, then again he had heard she too has been known to bail on the Doc at least once. So maybe she could be easy to get alog with.
Then there was Doc Bjk. She struk him as the type that really cares about the healh of the crew, and goes to great lenght to insure the get the best care she can provide. She also seems to get very upset with Killjoy's type, the guys who ignor their own well being for the sake of the job. Those Major insignia on her collar were well earned, and for the first time in his life he has met a doctor he feels he can trust.
Then there was Major Brie. His first incounter with her went real well and she seems like a very dedicated officer who cares for those under her command. She seems to have a cool head under fire and will avoid a fire fight if she can. Unlike many men (Including Killjoy) who tend to draw a weapon at the first hint of a problem. He made a mental note to look into her personel file first chance he had, not so much for he military record but just to find out more about her. He seemed fixated on her way to often these days.
That only left on female officer to figure out. His own CO. Major BatGl. He hasnt had any run-ins with this woman yet but somehow he figured she would be very much like the others. Dedicated and pretty much by-the-book. Needless to say he wasnt looking forward to their fist meeting.
He couldnt belive he had fallen to a thing like the Borrilian Phage. If this gets out to the other flyboys hes going to have a very rough life. At least the women seem to understand his situation. The my find it funny but they at least respect him enough to keep it quiet.
Maybe what he has heard about female Warriors being different form other women is true. Maybe the dont fall for all the "Charms" of guys like Killjoy, no matter how well practiced they are.
"What a waste" he said aloud. "All those yahren of perfecting my "Lady Skills" and I go and join the one orgaization in the universe where the are usless.
As he at last drifted off to sleep, His Mind drifted back to a particular female officer.... * * * Amy I'd left the mess hall feeling pretty good. I was full for a change, that burger and fries with Marcus had actually hit the spot. And Marcus was a first class person as well as a fine warrior, and it was great to spend a little time with him. It gave me some hope to know that there were some warriors that still knew how to conduct themselves.
I headed for the computer sector to enter in my report. I'd need to get this filed and printed out before too much time went by. Then I could hit the weight room before that burger settled into the wrong places.
I entered the computer room and sat down at a console. I began to type out my report.

GOLD SHUTTLE TWO MISSION TO PLANET 'OUTER'
Mission summary filed by Captain Amy
Mission members: Captain Amy Lt. Artus Lt. Marcus
Viper support: Captain Stadia
Left Callisto for planet Outer, shuttle piloted by Marcus. Encountered Cylon activity as picked up by Stadia. Went to silent running mode.
Silent running failed to shake Cylons. Under support from Stadia we headed full throttle for the planet. Due to evasive manuevers and high speed we landed some distance from the landing zone where Major Brie's party had landed. We operated under radio silence and lost contact with Stadia.
Shuttle scanner took some damage. I ordered Artus to remain and attempt repairs while Marcus and I took snowsleds to meet up with Major Brie's party. We discovered that Major Brie and her team had already left. Since we were unable to approach the planet on the proper heading, we had missed meeting them in space as well.
Encountered Cylon foot patrol. Unable to defend ourselves with conventional weapons, Artus was able to take out this patrol using the snowram. The patrol was eliminated, but the snowram was lost as well.
Encountered Lt. Najinn, who became our viper support in place of Stadia, who was still unaccounted for.
Launched into space, encountered heavy Cylon traffic. Took damage from Cylon torpedo. Radioed Callisto for assistance figuring Callisto a) had already jumped, b) could ignore signal and remain hidden, or c) could offer assistance.
With assistance from Callisto we were able to return. Artus made in-flight engine repairs which brought us back at full throttle only. Marcus attempted 'Starbuck Manuever' with shuttle, shutting down at outer marker and coasting in. Shuttle began rolling slightly, cause for roll unknown.
Achieved hard landing in Alpha bay, all aboard sustaining only minor injuries.
**Highest commendations recommended for Marcus and Artus. Marcus displayed uncanny flying skills in bringing us both to the planet and back. Artus proved his resourcefulness by repairing the scanner, and repairing the damaged shuttle engine. Both showed the bravery and skills possessed only by the finest warriors. Recommend consideration for Gold Cluster for both warriors.
(Signed) Captain Amy

I printed out two copies of the report, and headed off to Brie's quarters to turn them in, one would end up on Colonel Charybdis's desk, and I hoped he would give due consideration on my recommendations. Having mentally walked through the mission again, I was feeling a little tense and was looking forward to hitting the weights. Lifting was a great release, and I had more than my share of tensions to work out, as well as that burger! * * * Brie Commander Sheba, Colonel Charybdis:
I have read the report filed by Captain Amy, including her recommendations for the Gold Cluster. I have been on the planet and can testify to the horrific conditions. I agree with Captain Amy's recommendations. Both Lieutenants Artus and Marcus are fairly new to Gold Squadron, and I look forward to a continued level of excellence from them.
