The new release of the classic Cylon Raiders came out sometime in April, but immediately sold out on Hasbro's site. I've been to about 10 different stores trying to find one, but since they only put one in per case, I haven't had any luck (they're really pushing the Titanimum series Transformers toys since that movie will be out soon!). Therefore, I finally bought one on eBay a few days ago. I'm expecting it to arrive any day now. I'll give a report once it arrives. If you're interested in bidding on one, you should be able to win one at auction for about $6 to $8 plus shipping, and a Buy It Now for $7 to $10.

The Raider finally arrived and looked nice, similar to the Monogram/Revell (I think) models, which varied from those used early in the series, but which later became canon themselves when they were used in the Hand of God. However, there is bigger news:
The original Battlestar Galactica has been released in the Titanium series, and is now available in stores in limited supply! I found out they'd been released over the weekend, and immediately hit three Target stores, a Toys R Us, and three Walmarts before finding one. From a distance, the model is immediately recognizable as an original series battlestar, though up close, it is a bit disappointing. There's a communications array (I think) on the nose that looks out of place, and the features on the main module at the front of the ship leave a good bit to be desired, but for such a small scale version, I think it's acceptable. The biggest disappointment is that they couldn't paint or decal the name on the sides of the bay. Overall, I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, with an extra .5 for Hasbro/Titanium series doing another model from the original series for a total of 3 out of 5 (Thanks Hasbro!). The ship is metal, painted, and available for $4.50 to $6.00 in the stores, and from around $7.50 or so on e-Bay.
