Logan and Plwel entered the base's bay to see Commander Apollo standing next to a shuttle preparing to depart for its return to the Callisto. Upon seeing the Warriors, he motioned them over with a wave of his hand.
"The tech crew all squared away, Captain?"
"Yes, sir, " Logan replied. She did a mental checklist of the location of the Callisto Warriors, glancing around and placing them either in or by their Vipers, ready for launch.
"Good, " Apollo said. "Get to your ships. The sooner we're back on the Callisto, the sooner we can get started."
Logan nodded and moved off as the Commander boarded the shuttle. Turning to Plwel, she smiled as they separated to approach their respective ships. "No stunts this time."
Plwel rolled his eyes at her. "No blowing up Nero either," he grinned.
She gave him her best innocent expression and put her hand to her chest in mock indignation. "You take away all my fun."
Reaching her ship, she realized she was still smiling and had to shake her head. She hoped the return trip was uneventful as she didn't want anything to spoil the mood she was currently in. She had a feeling that it wouldn't last as the mission progressed. The tech eyed her strangely as she climbed the ladder and lowered herself into the cockpit.

As he walked towards his ship, Lt. Plwel was at peace and so happy that he was ready to face whatever may come. There was nothing that could bring him down right now. Passing readied Vipers, he came across Ensign Edan who had already borded his craft and was doing his final preps before lowering his canopy. Plwel ran up the scaffolding to the opening and extended his hand to Edan who looked surprised at what was going on. Plwel grabbed his arm firmly and while shaking mentioned..."Thank you Edan for your advice and counsel....Thank you very much!! I will see you on the Callisto." Before Edan even had a chance to respond or even figure out what Lt. Plwel's comment was all about, Plwel had jumped off the scaffolding to the deck and was running to board his Viper where the techs were standing by to assist him. Jumping into the seat and putting his helmet on, he was so excited that he was ready to take on the entire Cylon Empire if needed. Lowering his canopy, Bouri recieved his clearance to launch. Plwel pressed his turbo button sending Gold 2 into the air and towards the Callisto to the next phase of their mission.....

As she passed Edan and Plwel, she gave them each a thumbs up, as they climbed into their vipers and prepared to launch.
Artus was speaking with ground crew, as he hung around for Persephone to return to her ship. As she approached, he looked up at her and gave a nod to the crewman he was speaking with and finished their conversation, and walked to meet her.
"Your viper is all fueled up and ready to go, Pers", he said, holding his helmet under his arm.
"Thanks Artus", she said as she reached for her helmet sitting on the nose of her viper. Her mind seemed a little distracted, but she then thought of how she had to let go of her past with Triton for good now. She felt there was closure at last. Her mind was needed to be in full focus for the what was to come.
Artus looked at her mindfully, and came close to her. He reached for her hand. "Everything alright?", he asked gently.
She glanced down at his hand in hers, the warm contact of him shot through her once more. Their eyes locked, and her breathing steadied into calm. Admitting to herself at how he made her feel, she wished she hadn't fought her her feelings for him for so long, going right back to the first day they met. But now he was here for her in ways she needed. She needed him more than he knew.
She smiled her best smile at him, "Everything is fine. More than fine, in fact, Artus". her voice was gentle, and tender. His eyes beamed with a smile back at her, before he leaned in one more time to meet her lips. They both let out a contented sigh, as their eyes opened again.
"I'd better be getting to my ship, then." "Yes, it's time to launch", Persephone agreed.
" I'll follow after you Pers, I'll be your wingman on the way back to the Callisto". "Okay...", she replied, with a smile that wouldn't leave her face.
The two lieutenants climbed up to their ships, pulled on their helmets, and lowered their canopies.
Artus nodded back at her, as they gave each other a meaningful look from their vipers.
Flipping at their switches, and onboard computers, the base control voice was heard though their comm lines. "Gold 5 and Gold 7 are cleared for launch. Launch when ready".
"Acknowledged", Artus's voice responded. Their engines roared, as they started up.
Artus gave her a thumbs up, and she nodded back.
"Race you back to the Callisto...",she joked.
"You're on..."Artus laughed.
Pressing her turbo, her viper accelerated on the catapult launch rails, as she was pulled back in her seat by the force and her ship took off up into the air.
Artus pressed his turbos in suit , and was shot down the launch rails, following quickly after Persephone.
He accelerated to catch up with her to be at her side, as they both caught up with the rest of their squadron that were already in the sky, returning home to the Callisto.

Logan climbed down from her Viper, boots hitting the deck soundly as Gher walked up to her. "Any problems, Captain?"
"No, Gher. Smooth sailing this time." She saw the worry lines in his forehead ease as she clapped him companionably on the shoulder.
He moved past her to direct the techs who were rushing over. Running her fingers through her hair, she retied the knot at the base of her neck and did a quick scan of the landing bay. All the Callisto Warriors were back onboard, with the notable additions of the green Squadron Warriors from Lotus Base.
Apollo's shuttle was in sight and she saw several pilots emerging, along with a few of the techs who had come back onboard to run their downloaded information from the base's system core through the more advanced systems on the Callisto. A few techs had been left behind to work on their findings at the base, but she knew Apollo and Sheba had wanted as much work to be done here as possible. The techs would be figuring out the processes of the time displacement tech as the Callisto moved towards the Colonies. They needed to be sure the time displacement tech would work properly in the eventuality that they needed to make a hasty exit back to their own time.
Thinking about it too much gave Logan a headache. If they were successful would there be any reason to go back through the rift?
Apollo and Skyler had their heads bent together, deep in conversation as she walked towards them. Apollo looked up on hearing her approach. "Captain. Good. You and your pilots get some rest. We have a full cycle until we're within range of the Colonies and any Cylon activity. Make use of it. Once we're close, we'll launch all Vipers and hope that Kroll made it through with our warning."
"Understood, Commander." She made to leave, but Apollo stopped her. "I'd like you and your squadron to take the Green Squadron Warriors and show them the barracks. Commander Sheba has assigned Captain Nero quarters, near your own." He smiled at her knowingly and didn't have to end the sentence with his obvious thought...so you can keep an eye on him.
She nodded and refrained from voicing the sarcastic thanks that came to mind.
Apollo turned back to Skyler and they walked toward the exit to report to Sheba.
Logan sighed and searched the bay for Nero. She saw Edan talking with Ensign Guinevere, Plewl and his Green wing. Catching Plwel's eye across the bay, she had a momentary flush of heat up her neck, their brief encounter in the base corridor fresh in her mind.
Resting her hand on the blaster at her hip, she closed the distance between them and relayed Apollo's orders.

EDan smiled on the short ride back to the Callisto. Seems like Plwel was making some headway in his personal battle. "Good for him. He deserves it." He said to himself. Ensign Guinevere stayed in close to his VIper. She was definately showing the signs of a good wingman. Or as he used to call them Partner. He had very little reference to call her a Good Warrior, this being his first mission as a Warrior, but he felt confident enough to say it anyway.
When this was all done, and history told, again, maybe he'd look into a joint assignment with her.
If they did save the Colonies, it was very likely that the warriors from the Galactica and Callisto would be reassigned throughout the fleet. Even Ensigns would be capable of training the Warriors how to use the tech that the Survivors had put together in the last 30 Yahrens.
Maybe he wouldn't even be an Ensign after this. Saving the colonies could warrent a promotion. LT Edan. Possible, might even be Captain Edan. Put a good showing in during the "ambush", maybe lead a charge to save the Atlantia. That was the First Battlestar destroyed at Cimtar. If they could save the President of the colonies, Every single warrior would be up for promotion.
Edan shook his head and and smiled to himself. He adjusted the path of the Viper just a little more and then brought it in for a landing. BAck aboard the Callisto. The ship was a little more crouded then usuall. Having taken aboard all the Vipers of Green Squadron. Aboujt all that was left on the base were a few patrol vipers, the pilots to fly them and shuttles. If things go terribly wrong, The shuttles could be taken back through the Time portal and rejoin the Rag tag Fleet.
Edan and Guinevere walked from there Vipers and walked up to Plewl and his wingmate.
"Lt Plwel, looks like Green Squadron is all here and accounted for. ANy word on where we're going to contact the Cylons first? Are we going to save the fleet and then move agains the Forces near the Colonies?"

"Lt Plwel, looks like Green Squadron is all here and accounted for. Any word on where we're going to contact the Cylons first? Are we going to save the fleet and then move agains the Forces near the Colonies?"
"No Ensign Edan.." Plwel started to reply..."There has been no word yet. Captain Logan is talking with Commander Apollo and Major Skyler right now across the bay. I am sure she will have something to tell us once she is done." As they stood arond the landing bay waiting for orders, Lt Plwel took a minute to himself to re-acclimate himself to his Callisto home. As soon as he closed his eyes, took in a deep breath of the artificial atmosphere, and listened closely, Bouri was immediately comforted in the fact he was indeed back "home"...but for how long? Only the Lords of Kobol knew. Plwel turned back around to join his shipmates when he caught Capt Logan out of the corner of his eye walking towards the group...with her hand resting on her laser as usual.
When Logan reached the group of warriors, she relayed Apollos's orders to them and dismissed the warriors to go about their business until the klaxon sounded for launch. Plwel wasn't sure what to do with an entire cycle's time to himself. He had been keeping himself busy with his work lately and not taking any personal time. Plwel thought to himself.."It will be nice to sleep in my own bunk again." Capt Logan had already begun to depart the group in the bay to meet up with Capt Nero before Plwel had the chance to speak with her again..."I hope I get the chance to spend some more time with her before we go into battle." Plwel said softly to himself. The feeling in his heart for her was something that he had never felt before, and every free second he had wanted to be shared with her. It was goping to be difficult for Plwel to be seperated from her now, but he understood that duty is duty....and that must come first...for both of them. With a grin on his face, Plwel walked over to Lt. Elorian from the Lotus Base Green Squadron who had just finished his post-flight Viper lock down. As the two warriors met up, Plwel extended his hand to Elorian again and said...."Lt. Elorian, let me be the first to walcome you aboard the Battlestar Callisto." "Thank you Lieutenant." Elorian responded eagerly. Plwel continued.."Follow me this way please....I will show you to your quarters. You will be staying with me and the rest of Gold Squadron's junior officers in our barracks." "I look forward to it...thank you." Elorian replied.
As they departed the lift and headed down the corridor, Plwel noticed the intrigue and excitement in Elorian's eyes as he looked around the battlestar as they walked. "Lieutenant, have you ever been aboard a Battlestar before?" Elorian looked at Plwel and responded...."Only once or twice briefly during flight training at the academy. They took us aboard the Atlantia to practice and certify in battlestar launch and landing procedures. But as soon as I graduated, I was immediately assigned to the Lotus Base, so I have never "served" on an actual battlestar." Plwel chuckled to himself as Elorian completed his statement responding...'Well, you will be familiar with this ship soon enough. It seems overwhelming at first, but everything is fairly simple to find...Where there is not a sign, there is always someone to ask directions." Plwel decide to detour a little and take Elorian on a brief tour to get him familiar with the ship and the major areas he will need to know to suit his needs.
Serveral centons had pssed as they walked and talked about a variety of things from their homeworlds and families to their individal duty stations and responsibilities. Before they even knew it, they had reached the Gold Squadron barracks and walked in. After turning to the left and walking down the steps, Plwel offered Elorian the bunk above his that was currently empty and a locker to stow his gear. After he thanked Plwel for the tour and his hospitality, Elorian excused himself out of the room to the next compartment and went about his business getting settled in and refreshed. Plwel removed his jacket and holster belt and hung them in his locker. He removed his tan tunic and the top to his white flight pressure suit that he wore under his uniform as well to make himself a little more comfortable exposing his bare chest and back. As he settled down into his bunk, Plwel sunk his head deep into his pillow, closed his eyes and began to relax to get some rest. Within an undetermined amount of time, Plwel was awakened suddenly by a female voice clearing her throat and then saying......."Lt. Plwel, may I have a word with you for a centon please?"

Logan had meant to say something to Plwel about meeting up after depositing their respective new wings at their billets, but with everyone talking at once in the excitement of being back onboard, she hadn't gotten the opportunity. Before she knew it, Plwel and his Green wing had moved off and she had located Captain Nero visually and began to walk over to him. She promised herself that after she had rid herself of the arrogant curmudgeon she'd have to seek out Plwel and ask him the one question that kept bothering her. How had he discovered her given name? She didn't think he'd had the chance to talk to Skyler about something so personal. And since he was the only one who knew it...
Nero was eyeing her warily as she reached him, his arms crossed defensively over his chest even as he attempted for a casual stance against the wing of his Viper. Pushing aside all other considerations, she cleared her throat. "Alright then, Captain. Follow me and I'll show you to your quarters."
He fell into step beside her as they exited the bay and she had to stop herself from lengthening her strides to walk ahead of him. He was taking his time, examining the ship as they went. As slow as he was walking she wasn't sure he wasn't counting each bolt in the plating. She was so busy fuming over his obvious attempt at setting the pace that she didn't hear him speak at first.
"I'm sorry. What?" She drew up short and looked at him.
He gave her an exasperated eye roll and smirked. "Are my quarters the brig?"
He seemed too pleased at what he thought was a clever joke. "No. You have been assigned temporary quarters in the officer's section. Right next to mine." She meant it to throw him, as she was obviously being put in charge of keeping an eye on him.
His smile widened as they entered the lift. "Is that funny to you?," she asked.
He gave her an appraising look which made her skin crawl. 'No. Not funny. Just typical."
"Typical how?" Even as she asked she knew she wasn't going to like the answer.
"Oh, I've seen your type before, Captain." He said it like his mouth tasted bad. " Very authoritative, but when it comes right down to it, still just a woman with something to prove." He was looking at her strangely, as if deciding something.
The lift had stopped and she watched his back as he went into the corridor, stopping and waiting for her without another word. She turned right and walked the few paces to the door of his quarters, her own just across the hall. "Here's you room. I don't even want to know what you're implying so I'll leave you here."
He reached out to stop her, but thought better of it at the look she gave him. "Captain Logan. Don't play games with me. I know how this works. Female Warriors have to pay their dues to get anywhere. I'm sure you've performed admirably at your duties to make it to Captain. But even after thirty yahrens, you can't tell me that things are really that different."
She wanted him to shut up and felt her grip tighten on her blaster. He caught the movement and a small glimmer of something crossed his face. She realized he was baiting her and took a deep breath. "Captain Nero, I don't know how things are done in your time, but on this ship now, you are not my superior officer and have no sway over my duties. You'd do well to remember that. Now, there's your room, " she pointed across him and almost hit him in the nose in the process, staying her hand at the last micron. "If you need anything I'm right across the hall. And might I suggest that you NOT need anything."

Having received word of some disgraceful Green Squadron officer's actions, even while being treated for a mild sickness in the med-bay, the large man was making his way to Captain Logan's quarters to discuss the matter with her. This is what allowed him to have the timing to hear the inter-captain exchange in the hallway.
This was unacceptable.
Coming around the corner, the man nicknamed after building supplies stepped immediately and deeply into Captain Nero's personal space. It was quite on purpose and quite effective, especially being a full head taller than the man, and more broad as well.
"MISTER Nero, I presume." Everyone present knew that this was not a question. Logan looked at her friend with raised eyebrows, amazed at his ability to make calling a man's name sound like a threat. Oddly enough, even though she didn't know it, Nero was thinking exactly the same thing. Nero had raised his eyebrows too.
"I am Captain Brik of Gold Squadron and I have some very strong feelings about how Colonial Warriors behave. We are the protectors of humanity and keepers of the hopes and dreams of our people. This does NOT include dereliction of duty, sabotage and insubordination."
Brik stood, if possible, closer to Nero. "Once this mission is over we will discuss this again. You get to choose the nature of our discussion. MISTER."
He then turned his back to Nero in an act of obvious and complete dismissal. "Logan, may I have a word at your convenience?"

RPG Note : The majority of the actual plan in the following post is the work of reaper (aka Ensign Edan). I couldn't have done it without him. *************
Starbuck was on the viewscreen in Sheba's office when Apollo and Skyler entered, shaking his head and grumbling about old ovines who should've been kicked out of the Academy for their arrogance.
Apollo grinned at his friend's countenance on the screen and said, "But if you'd been kicked out, who would I have put in charge of Galactica in my absence?"
Sheba turned in her chair towards the door and Starbuck rolled his eyes. "Well, buddy. don't you start with me, " raising an accusatory finger at Apollo as he said it. "These hot shots are all mouth. Unlike yours truly." Starbuck sat back in his chair looking pleased with himself.
Apollo shook his head as he and Skyler took seats on the other side of Sheba's desk, facing the viewscreen. "Transmissions scrambled?" he asked her. He knew they were, but wasn't taking any chances. She nodded.
"So what did you do to Captain Nero?", Starbuck asked, eyes glinting mischievously.
"I put Captain Logan in charge of him, " Apollo answered mildly.
Starbuck whistled low. "Lords have mercy on him then."
Sheba interrupted. Normally calm, she seemed anxious to get on with things. "So what's our plan?"
Apollo sighed and exchanged looks with Major Skyler. They had gone over all known information while at the base and talked extensively on possible strategies. Whithout preamble, he laid out what they had decided.
"Our best chance of success is a two-pronged attack. We know from information gained from Baltar that the Imperious Leader lead the attack on Caprica. That's why he had Karibdis sabotage the defenses there. So the best way to stop the attacks on the planets is to take on the Imperious Leader with at least one Battlestar. When threatened by a ship that shouldn't be there, he'll think the fleet has not fallen for the ambush. This Battlestar can be screaming on Fleet Comm Line Alpha for all planetary defenses to come alive and defend themselves. A special transmission to Caprica will alert them to the sabotage. Whatever Home Fleet is there, plus planetary Viper Squadrons can turn the battle against the Cylons. by the time they figure out what's happening, I think the Callisto is best equipped for this, especially since we now have the additional pilots of Green Squadron from the base."
Sheba nodded. "And the Fleet at Cimtar?"
"Galactica should sail around the Fleet, at maximum speed to intercept the Cylon attack force closer to Cimtar, giving the Fleet a chance to scramble their forces and come to the rescue. We would just have to buy time for Adama to relieve Adar of Military Command and get the fleet moving. I know where the Cylons will be. I found them. Me and Zac..." He paused momentarily, but shook it off. "Plus, I think Father will listen to me a lot more readily than he would you, Sheba."
She agreed. "We have 2 Cycles left before the attack. We need to get underway in about 1200 centons if we're to have a chance."
Starbuck spoke up. "We should split at about 1200 centons after that. Galactica will have a longer travel time as I assume you'll want to go around the Fleet to avoid scans."
Apollo nodded his assent. "I'll be leaving here after the briefing and rejoining the Galactica." Returning his attention to Sheba, he said, " The Callisto just has to approach Caprica and the known location of the baseships there and launch when you get word from the fleet defense ship."
It wasn't lost on Sheba that Apollo's plan would have him in the opportune position to stop Zac's Viper from being destroyed. She didn't blame him. "Understood."
