Captstadia climbed out of the viper as soon as the canopy opened. Handing her helmet to a tech, she asked, "Where is the bridge?" After receiving direction, she made her way toward the flight deck. Ignoring the stares, she made her way to the bridge.
Ariving on the bridge, she asked a technician who was in command.

Brie had just given the last assignment when there was a knock on the door. Nadia came in, a report in hand. Brie stared at it in disbelief. She shook her head. "Cylons. And the fleet is unprotected."
"Our patrol stayed hidden, but it looks like the baseship will be here in less than a cycle."
Ange, the only person that Brie hadn't given an assignment to, stood closeby. "What are we going to do?"
"Hopefully everyone will make it to their assignments soon," Brie said. "And then..."

Ignoring the stares, she made her way to the bridge. Ariving on the bridge, she asked a technician who was in command. The tech pointed to a young man who was pouring over reports..."Lt. Troy, sir" "Thanks." "Lt. Troy, I am Captain Stadia. I have been sent to command this vessel until such a time the fleet is out of danger. I want status reports on the condition of this ship. I want to know the ships complement." The Lt. looked dejected at the news. His shoulders slumped down. Captstadia noticing this went on, "Lt. Troy, you will remain as my second and no other crew changes are expected." "Then Captain you will be interested in this report. We have been having trouble with the engine. For some reason the engines cant go beyond half thrust. If we try they shut down." Captain Stadia took the report and began to study it indepth.

Brie returned to the Intimidator's bridge, Ange at her side. The irony of his being there didn't escape her. She approached Lt. Nadia. "I need direct communication with the captains or current pilots of every ship in the fleet," she instructed.
"I'll have it established in a micron," Nadia replied.
"Major," Ange said to her, almost in a whisper. "I have a question. It's obvious that you don't like me. Why?"
Brie walked away, picked up the infant carriers, and placed them on the floor. She wanted to be near her babies. She sat down and forced herself to look at Ange. "You make a lousy first impression," was all that she said.
"But we just met back when..."
"Major," Nadia interrupted, "communication has been established."
"Thanks." Brie took a deep breath. "Leaders of the fleet, prepare your ships to leave the system. There's a Cylon baseship on its way, and Commander Apollo has left us defenseless. I've sent what few officers we have throughout the fleet to help with preparations, and am transmitting the jump point to everyone now."
"Major Brie," a voice said after a micron, "This is Captain Novy from the Textile Ship. I've just received the coordinates. These aren't like anything that we've seen before. When the battlestars come back, they won't know where to find us."
"IF the battlestars come back," Brie corrected. "If their mission is successful none of this right now will be happening, but we need to assume that they've been destroyed. The fleet has been left defenseless and with me in charge, and I'm going to do whatever I can to save the rest of the human race. We also need to lead the Cylons away from here, can you imagine the ramifications if they were to discover the rift? Now...are there any other questions?" Brie was met by silence. "Good. Prepare your ships immediately, we move forward in one centar.

Not too much later Brie gave Nadia another order. Nadia stared at her for a moment. "Permission to speak freely, Ma'am?"
"Of course," Brie replied.
"Um, are you sure that you want to do this? I mean, there will be questions about..." Nadia glanced at Palma and Petra.
"I realize that," Brie said, "but there's much more at stake here than the paternity of my children. Get her here, and let her know that we need to do this immediately."
"Yes, Ma'am."

Roxzanna-Rizou walked onto the Intimidator's bridge with her temporary cameraman, brushing her red hair out of her eyes. Her glance at Brie's two children was less than subtle. "I hear you're finally ready for an interview, Major," she said. "It's about time. I've been trying to get this arranged since you returned from the dead…"
"One rule," Brie said quickly. "You get exactly two questions about my personal life. One centon total. Then we move on to the real reason that you're here. Understand?"
"Whatever you say," Roxzanna-Rizou said. "When do you want to start?"
"The micron that you're ready," Brie replied. "There's no time to waste."
Roxzanna-Rizou glanced at her cameraman, who had just finished getting his equipment set up. He nodded. "We're live in five, four, three, two…"
"This is Roxzanna-Rizou, live on the bridge of the Intimidator. We'll return to your regular program in a moment, right now I'm here with Major Brie…"

"Major Brie," Roxzanna-Rizou started, "you recently returned from the dead. Care to share where you were all this time?"
Brie glanced at her wrist chrono to make sure that Roxzanna-Rizou knew that the centon on her personal life had started. "My viper exploded, and I was rescued by the locals in the last system we were in. A search for me was made, but no one realized that there was an underground city on the planet that was near where I crashed. I don't hold it against anyone, I know that there was no sign that I was still alive. While on the planet I recuperated and gave birth to my twin daughters."
Roxzanna-Rizou smiled like she had just been given the juiciest news story of her career. "Speaking of your daughters, everyone knows that you were widowed yahrens ago, and that you're not currently sealed. Everyone is wondering; who is their father?"
Brie glanced at her chrono again. The 20 microns left would be plenty of time for what she wanted to say. "The father of my twins is Major Skyler."

"The father of my twins is Major Skyler."
There were a few things that Brie knew for sure. First was that Skyler was NOT the father of her children. They had shared a kiss on occasion but nothing more. Second, JustinB was the father, but Brie didn't want him in any of their lives. Third, Skyler would go along with whatever Brie said and would tell no one that he wasn't the father, even at the cost of his own reputation. Fourth, Brie knew people who would falsify any paternity tests for her if need be. Finally, she knew that Skyler would raise her children as his own and be a fantastic father to them. All she had to do was ask.
None of it really mattered, because she doubted very much that the Callisto would be returning. She'd never see Skyler or JustinB or any of them again. The battlestars had failed, and if the fleet didn't leave the system the remnants of the human race would be destroyed by the approaching Cylon baseship. She had been left in charge, and she was going to do what she could. Her patience was paying off.
"Skyler and I became involved, and that was the reason that I left Gold Squadron. It wasn't right for us to have a relationship while I was his CO. When I found out I was expecting, I requested the transfer to the Callisto Training Academy, and Skyler was elected the new commanding officer of Gold Squadron." Brie glanced at her chrono for effect. "Your two questions and your centon are up, and so we need to move on to the real reason that I wanted to address the fleet."

There was a blip, something that shouldn't even have been noticed. Brie blinked, she had no idea what was different. She looked at the woman standing in front of her, who didn't seem to have noticed anything.
Roxzanna-Rizou glanced at her cameraman, who had just finished getting his equipment set up. He nodded. "We're live in five, four, three, two…"

"So tell me, Major," Roxzanna-Rizou started, "you were declared dead, but then you returned. What happened?"
I don't hold it against anyone, I know that there was no sign that I was still alive."
Roxzanna-Rizou brushed some hair out of her face. "When you returned, you found out that Major Skyler, your SIC, had been made the new commanding officer of Gold Squadron. How did that make you feel?"
Brie almost smiled. "Life goes on. I didn't expect Gold Squadron or the fleet to sit around and wait for my return. Major Skyler is more than capable of running Gold Squadron, which was why he was my second in command when I was in charge. It's also why I asked to be moved to the Callisto Training Academy instead of fighting for my old job back." She glanced at her chrono again. "Enough about me. Let's talk about the real reason that I wanted to address the fleet." Brie glanced at the floor, not noticing that there was nothing there.
