Are we at a point yet to revisit the RPG portion? Is there enough of us now willing to dedicate some time to it and get it going again? I would like to get started back into it, but obviously can't be the only one for it to be successful. Or......is this just a lost cause now.....

I don't know if we have the numbers anymore, Rick. If you like to write and want to have a go at it, post something and try your hand at starting a storyline...you never know who might jump in!

I wish I had the time to RPG again but I don't. We're moving (again, this is getting old) and I'm writing full time. I have days when I write over 10,000 words, my brain is mush after that.
I'm just happy that we have people stopping by here. General discussion is how we started.

I don't speak that many, just write them. It's a good thing that I can type fairly fast!

I know people that do not know 1000 words... you can tell when you talk to them and they use the same words over and over and over trying to fill up space... I do not have a lot of time, but if the story gets going I will try to post to it. I can not promise it will be on a regular basis but I try...

I guess I read over a lot of this in sadness, like a person looking around a party area the day after it all happened. It is great to see what took place, how it was done, and what was accomplished. And I'm starting to realize that those that want to start a story has two options: 1) Get the blessing of the past crew to write Callisto stories. This is not a bad thing at all. The older crew are naturally the higher ranking members that would appear in the story, much like Adama or Tigh, the seasoned Warriors. Newer members like Rick and I (ensigns and all) can be sent out on the adventures, reconosance missions, and do the ground pounding like the ensigns and lower ranks that we currently are. Also, if we had one higher ranker be there to report to, show us how things are done, and bark some orders out every now and then, would be a great setup. Continuity remains, the older members get to stay on file working in high ranks elsewhere and available to make cameos, and new people get to continue the playing. 2) The second option is to make another ship. Seems a shame with the rich history of this Battlestar. Also I think another Battlestar is starting to stretch things a little. How many "lost but recently found Battlestars" can we find? Could make a new battlestar (like many new Battlestars in the past, now long gone) be warriors, fly vipers, blast up some Cylons, get that out of our system. Which is all fine and good. Or... ... cover another part of the fleet life. Make a ship of the fleet, not a battlestar. That could be fun. I mean life in the fleet alone is a varied adventure. And I'm thinking be a reserve warrior, but in the meantime serve another function in the fleet. Like a surveyor, or a rigger (on the fuel ships gathering fuel for the fleet). A cook. A repairman or flight deck attendant. Even a botonist on the Agroships occasionally going to new planets to find new seed for the ships, and work to find plants and life that will not wipe out what is already growing. Jubal himself is a bard, a person who like to record the history of the colonials during the Exodus. That is more of an ancestrial occupation that he finds he has to uphold and do his part in the fleet. And with that he wears more than one headdress... So these are some thoughts. Do we continue the Callisto story, or take up other options like I mentioned above?

If I understand your first suggestion, our established characters would be written by other people? Sorry, too many of us have put our sweat and blood into it in the past. Our characters are a part of us. That's why I wrote Brie out of the story when I didn't have time to write anymore. I didn't want anyone to be able to write for her. I know that most of the others here feel the same way.
If you and Rick (who should be a LT by now, not sure why he hasn't officially been promoted) and any others want to be "reassigned" to another ship in the fleet I have no problem with that. Just be warned that the story becomes very time consuming and, if done right, can take over your lives. I speak from experience. ;D

I think if you stick with the general history and timeline of what has come before, I would like to see stories about other ships in the fleet. That would be pretty cool. You can even be a warrior, but be assigned to the other ship for a mission, duty, etc.
If you want to do that, I think that's worth a try. And who knows, you might get some of us old grizzled veterans to chime in and bark some orders at you!!!
