All I can say is WOW!!!! That was one wild ride!!! I finally got to see it yesterday and it was well worth it...
My observances:
I was quite surprised that R2 and C3PO don't play very big parts in this one. They are kind of set dressing mostly. Same can be said for Padme as well. She basically plays the lovesick stay at home wife in the movie!
Brie, you must have had a real tough crowd if they were laughing at the love scenes! They were OK. The only part where my crowd laughed was when Yoda makes his appearance at the Emperor's room (read: Red Guards!)
Hayden does a much better job this time around. And Ian McDairmid is fantastic!
Now, here it comes: I felt like I was watching one of these "modern" type action flicks in the beginning. The space battle scenes were shot so differently than what has come before. Almost a bit too real, if you get my meaning. I almost had to ask myself if this was Star Wars!
That being said, I believe that it was definitely the best of the prequels as far as the story and the acting and the special effects.
BUT, I will not go so far as to say it is my favorite movie of all. I believe that honor still lies with the original Star Wars and even Empire Strikes Back a close second. ROTS will probably come in third which is where I knew it would...I'm just not a fan of real dark movies and that's why I have to place this movie third in the Star Wars saga...

Is it a perfect movie? No, of course not. Are there still some unanswered questions or minor inconsistencies? Yup. But is it a really good movie that's worthy of the name Star Wars? In my opinion, yes.

Hmmmmm, I'd place ROTS second to Episode 4. The opening battle scene was cutting edge and I am sure if I had a stomach full of food it would have ended up on the person in front of me. I am going to have to see it again to look at the little bits I might have missed.
I guess the best thing was that Jar Jar was limited to about 1 scene.

In my opinion, yes. Minor inconsistancies? What minor inconsistancies? What unanswered questions? I don't think there were any of those things... I've read the book and seen the movie.... I'll try to answer any questions...
