Basically here's the gist of it... Seeing the new Battlestar Galactica TV series is (unfortunately) taking off, myself and the co-owner of Cylon.org think it would be a great idea for a straight to DVD ORIGINAL series reunion movie OR an original series reunion series finale. I think the Callisto should spearhead a campaign for this... What do you think?

Don't forget, my dear friends, that the Callisto did start out as a revival group. This could be a chance to return to our roots, so to speak.

I think that would be a great idea.... I would really love a movie...but a good ending to Galactica or a suitable in to the sunset reunion would be awesome

Here are my thoughts on the matter. Perhaps the old Battlestar Galactica is still so good because nobody ever got round to screwing it up with sequals, prequels or other type of out of line meddling?
Just a thought...

I'd be behind the move, but I'd ratehr see a series of TV movies, Say one or two a year, based on the popularity of the first movie's premiere.
the future would all rest in the hands of the fans at that point!!!
Perhaps getting in contact with the Stars and perhaps Desanto, to get behind the idea. Approach the studios with such a united front they would have to listen.

I myself have always wanted to see an original series BSG movie. Hopefully, we can have both.

You know I have knocked around the idea that a few others knocked around, the idea of the Battlestar Galactica finding Earth around the 25th Century... www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O8YrPeOI-cThe shows had so much in common in production it just seemed like a grreat way to go. Galactica and the human fleet needed the firepower of the 13th colony and this would be the final showdown. Now I would have everyone 30 years later naturally. I think Tigh would need to be in charge of the Galactica after Adama's passing. And as a similiar token, Wilma would be charge of Earth Defense after the passing of Doctor Huer. I think a fun beginning would be the Seeker looking for other humans and finding Cylons! And then the Seeker is destroyed, which warns the Earth. Also signals the existance of Earth to the Colonial fleet. The Galactica and all show up. The Draconians show up as well, which turns out to be Ardala saying something to the effect of "No one gets Earth but the Draconian empire". They have a stand off, the main warriors (Starbuck, Apollo, Buck) through their own means manage to stave off all out warfare. Soon afterwards, introductions are made, and plans for the even bigger threat, the Cylons. I big battle around Saturn with all the NASA photage of the moons would be just awesome where the Cylons are repelled. That would be the end of the first movie. Later have a followup movie where the combined forces clean up and wipe out the last of the Cylons and the recolonizing of the 12 colonies, joined by those of the Earth colonists looking for new adventures. And in the end, I throught it would be a fun nod to have Buck and Ardala hooking up finally. She offers him a way to his past, which he steps through and visits the 80's for like a minuite, long enough to get a hot dog or something. Comes back, shoots the time portal, and kisses Ardala while all the "fireworks" go on in the background. Yeh sure some look better than others right now, but I think it would be a great fan moment.

I read somewhere that the original story for Buck Rogers was that it's a continuation of BSG. The Galactica find Earth after Buck Launches and is Flash Frozen. After ther Galacvtica comes ther Cylons (not WWIII) and Earth is decimated, BUT wins the war. Society is rebuilt around Colonial Tech. Then enter Buck, and let the fun continue.

Ahhhh... that makes complete sense actually. With 500 years to play with that can still be worked in. Maybe Earth fell into it's own wars which were going on when the Cylons arrived, and then shortly afterwards the colonials band with them to win the war. Well, I see it more than likely the Colonials realize it is Earth, realize they have to make a stand and that Earth will not be the ally they needed after all. But then again, having found Callisto and other brothers along the way, perhaps even Pegasus again, they had the Battlestars and fire power to make that stand. With Earth decimated after the war however, they realize it would not be life sustaining enough for the colonial fleet, and so some stay to help Earth rebuild, and the rest take to the stars once again to find a place to settle. Over the years Earth undergoes hard times and communication with the fleet is lost while Earth rebuilds. This is why years later Seeker is looking for the other brothers of man. Yep it all works.
