A few quick notes:

First, one of the Callisto's rules is that we're not any of the original characters. If you want to play as a relative of Apollo, that's fine, but not as Athena. If this isn't in our FAQ it should be.

Second, our story takes place as if the original series had continued. So this Sept 17 we'll have been in space for 30 yahrens. Having been born on Caprica isn't possible if your character is 28.

Third, all characters are ensigns until 60 posts, then they're promoted to lieutenant. The only way to be promoted to captain is for the squadron leader to make the promotion around election time. To be promoted to major you need to be elected squadron leader. Promotions past major...well, that doesn't really happen.

Finally, we're on the Callisto, not the Galactica. Totally different battlestar, commanded by Sheba. It wouldn't be possible to be Starbuck's wing.

I'm not trying to be a pain, just let you know how things are done before you end up digging an RPG hole that's too hard to get out of.

3.6 What are the squadron elections and when are they held?



Every year, both squadrons aboard the Callisto hold elections from their own members as to who will be the Squadron Leader for the following year. Terms are for one year and there are no term limits. The week before the election, a list is published as to who is eligible to run for higher positions. Every member from that squadron as well as all Bridge personnel and Med Lab personnel may make one nomination from those eligible Warriors within the squadron. Members may nominate themselves. The day before the election, the list of nominees is posted to the BBoard and then only members from the squadron may vote for their candidate. The Warrior receiving the most votes is elected the new Squadron Leader for the following year. If there is a tie in the voting, the election will be given to the Warrior with the longest service time aboard the Callisto. Terms begin immediately after the announcement.

Gold Squadron holds their election on the anniversary of its founding on November 10th of each year. Black Squadron holds their election on the anniversary of its founding on May 10th of each year.

The elected leader will be commissioned with the rank of Major. If a Squadron Leader with the rank of Major is reelected to additional terms, no promotion is given in rank, but they can still recommend two Warriors for promotion as per Question 3.5 with each election cycle.

Siblings: half-sister, Livia (deceased)

Ione is the youngest daughter of Sarpedon and Morgana. Parents were warriors that met after the exodus from the colonies. Sarpedon was from Scorpio and Morgana was from Sagittara. Ione's father was a single parent when he met Morgana. They married and Ione was the only daughter that Morgana would give her husband. Ione and Livia were 6 and 2 when Morgana was murdered in front of her children. Sarpedon raised his daughters alone til his death during and attack on the fleet when Ione was 6 and Livia was 10. They went to live with friends of their parents who became their foster family.

The loss of her parents affected Ione greatly. During her childhood, she was very shy and withdrawn from others her age. She grew up determined to follow in her parents footsteps and become a warrior. Her sister went in a different direction and became an educator of children. Ione and Livia were very close and it helped that Livia supported Ione's decision to enter the Academy when Ione turned 28. Livia died shortly before Ione graduated from the Academy. The loss of her only remaining family member has made Ione revert back to her childhood behavior of being shy and withdrawn.

Ione was a serious student at the Academy and even though she was an older cadet, people looked up to her as a leader. She graduated near the top of her class and is very dedicated to defending her fellow warriors and the civillians they protect everyday. At first when people meet Ione they think that she is shy and a bit stuck up. Ione is anything but shy and stuck up, she just hangs back at first before she really gets to know people and to trust them.

Name: Bouri-Plwel

Parents: Birth parents uknown; adoptive parents - Bouri and Elanna Plwel

Bouri-Plwel was born on the homeworld colony of Virgon. He was only 5 or 6 yarhens old when the cylon invasion reached his planet. He assumes the parents and family he doesn't really remember or know are all dead. During the colonial holocust, Plwel was found alone in the middle of the destruction and chaos of the attack. He was found by a middle aged couple, Bouri and Elanna Plwel, picked up, and taken to saftey until the attack was over. When the order was given to leave the colonies, he went with the Plwels to make a new home aboard on of the "Colonial Movers" cargo moving ships that joined the fleet in space.
Not having children of their own, and because of the importance to them to carry on the family name and hopefully his fathers legacy as a Colonial Virgon politician who was assumed to eventually take his place on the Council of the 12 one day, Bouri and Elanna claimed this little boy as their own son and followed Virgon tradition by handing down and bestowing the family name of Bouri upon him that the name would continue to live on forever regardless of the outcome of their journey through the stars.

There was not allot of room on the moving ship for a young boy to play, and because his mother was so protective of their "legacy" he wasnt allowed very far from her sight. he spent all his young life pretty much confined to the living areas of the ship and never allowed to venture beyond the confines of the cargo bays used by hundreds as home. As the yarhens passed, Bouri grew up wondering if his life would ever matter, or if he could ever be more than he is....he didn't see a future for himself and didn't see himself as the politician his father wanted him to be. During his late teen yarhens and through his late 20s, he finally was at a point where his parents could not hold him back any longer and he was able to find some comfort in small jobs he could find on the ship assisting with vessel and passenger support....working mostly in food services and sanitation duty. Basicllay he perfomed the jobs nobody else wanted to do with little appreciation. But this got him out of the living areas and able to see more of the ship and more of how a spaceship really operates. However, he never attempted to leave his "home" ship to visit any other ship in the fleet.

The day finally came when the meanial tasks aboard the moving ship did not satisfy him anymore. He knew he had to plan for an eventual future...wherever that may be for he and his family. He was trained and took a job as a shuttle pilot and guest services worker on the Rising Star. It was his primary responsibility to take perople back and forth from their home ships to the rising Star for recreation and to ensure the comfort of the guest assigned to him. This is where he first saw and encountered a Colonial Warrior. This was the fist time he felt there may be a way that he could make a difference for himself, his family and his people. He made every effort to become the best pilot he possibly could with the limitations of a large shuttle.

During an open recruitment for Colonial Warriors, Bouri made the decision, with great opposition by his parents to join the colonial service. He was accepted to train as a viper pilot and assigned to the Battlestar Galactica for basic and flight training. Although Plwel did not graduate at the top of his class, he was not far from it, and was considered a Distinguished Graduate. Upon graduation, Bouri-Plwel was commissioned an Ensign and recieved orders to report to Gold Squadron aboard the Battlestar Callisto. Although he was a little older the the average newly commissioned Ensign, Ensign Plwel had proven that he can perform as well as any other "young" warrior in the fleet. Ensign Plwel is excited to finally "start" his life and adventure as a colonial warriors and see the universe while defending his people and way of life.

As a young boy Upham wanting nothing more than to fly a Viper, to be a Colonial Warrior, to protect the Colonies like so many before him. It was a dream that was shattered the night the Cylons attacked the Colonies. He was just over 10 yarhen old that night, death and destruction was everywhere as Raiders flew overhead, destroying everything in sight. As Upham ran with everyone else he noticed a young girl on the second floor of a building that had been hit hard by Cylon fire. Even at the young age of 10 yahrens he was a selfless hero, as he ran into that building, climbing over piles of debris that was once part of the structure above. He reached the young girl and scooped her into his arms and headed for the closest exit as the building begins to crumble around them. A large chunk of debris struck him on his head just as he cleared the building, nearly knocking him to the ground. He was unaware of the extent of his injury as he stumbled to the escape shuttle and once safely aboard lost consciences. He awoke on a transport, a med tech standing over his bandaged head, his vision blurry and his head pounding. He was unsure of how much time had passed as he recovered from the ordeal and surgery to stop the inter-cranium bleeding. Later he learned that the scar tissue from that injury was placing pressure on his optic nerve and he would never be able to withstand the forces of flight in a Viper with out danger of blindness, or death if the pressure became too great. Unable to live his dream he chose the next best thing and he enlisted in the Colonial Infantry and became the best damn grunt the service had ever seen and he advanced quickly become a Gunnery Sergeant. His skill as a Sniper and an Armorer made him popular in the special forces community. He earned multiple awards for bravery, several many times over including the Gold Cluster. He is the only Infantry Warrior in the history of the award to win it twice. The child he saved, Mary grew up and started working as a med tech, and later advanced in her medical career. If the Academies of Caprica were still standing she would of have graduated as one of its brightest Doctors, as it stood, she was listed as a Doctor, but her true skill was yet to be determined. She studied hard and one day found the break thru she had dreamed of since learning of Upham’s injury. Dr. Welker had approved her findings and Upham was called. He was asked did he still want to be a Viper Pilot as She had found a way to correct his injury, to fix it so he could fly a Viper, to be the Warrior he always wanted to be. Upham thought about it and decided he still had the desire to try new experiences. The operation was very delicate, but her hands were steady. Once fully recovered Upham entered the Galactica Academy and excelled at his studies. He passed the Warrior Academy with high marks and finally received his orders. His hands shook as he opened the sealed folder.
