Marcus “Why of course. I want to continue to make you happy and for you to know that you are loved.”
I continued to nibble at Stadia’s neck and began to caress her…..
******************censored************************
After several more centars I lay with Stadia holding her in my warm embrace to snuggle her close and caress her hair and lightly kiss her lips.
They continued to lay there in each others embrace looking out at the stars. * * * Stadia Stadia reaches over his chest and grabs her drink. She finish the last of it and moves to snuggle near him.
"Sometimes I look at the stars when I am alone and try to imagine what my life would of been like had the attack by the cylons had never happened. I imagine myself happily sealed to the light of my life. I have the house with children.....", her voice trails off. She laid her cheek back onto his chest.
Marcus looked down at her, his hand gently caressing her neck. * * * Marcus I looked down at Stadia, my hand gently caressing her neck. "I know what you mean. I look back at my life and wonder where I would have been if they had not attacked. I see my self with someone I love very much and a couple of kids."
"Stadia there is nothing saying that either one of us can not still have those dreams of being sealed to the one we love and some children." "And even one day have that house." "I know there is a lot in the past that we both have to deal with but I hope that I can be that light in your life that will forever shine and wipe away the darkness."
Hoping for the moment to never end I continue to embrace her for as long as I can. Letting her feel my heart beat for her. "Now we can both look at the stars together and see what we can make of those dreams." * * * Stadia Stadia looked at him and said, "I know its ok to have those dreams but if I think about them they become all consuming and I cant afford to let them overwhelm me." With that said, she stood up to get dressed. She smiled knowing that the blanket falling to the floor was teasing him.
She slipped back into her uniform. She thought maybe with Marcus in her life, she would have more chance to wear something else.
"Besides I have to face the music. I did steal the second viper you know."
Marcus smiled, "Yes you did."
"I am not looking forward to that. The Col. is going to break the sound barrier with me. * * * Marcus "What ever happens know that I am with you and will stand beside you if the need should arise." " Don't worry If he bust you down to LT. I wont have to worry about you being higher rank than me. Even though that would be kind of fun having you give me orders and all. I smiled at her teasingly.
I got up and got dressed myself and we headed out of the secluded place. "I will see you latter. You know were to find me and if you dought that look in your heart and I will be there." I kissed Stadia on the lips. "Go and see the Col. I need to go and check in on Artus and see how he is doing." I caressed her cheek and kissed her one more time. "See you latter." We parted and I headed towards the med bay to see how Artus was doing.
I thought to my self that one day when Stadia was ready I would have to ask her to be sealed with me. I knew that at that moment I would be a very happen man. For now I would have to give her time. * * * Hawk After recieving the report on Turner,Major Brie's husband, and tucking the report into a pocket, I ran out of my quarters and ran straight into Major Brie. Literally. I accidentally knocked her down. "Major! I'm so sorry! Lords, are you hurt? Here let me help you up." I extended my hand. "No,I'm ok,Lieutenant. I don't intend to make getting knocked down by you a habit! Two times was quite enough. There won't be a third time.I know this time was an accident." She took my hand and got up. She straightened her uniform up. "Sorry to knock & run, but I need to get somewhere." I said. I started to leave when Brie said "Halt, Lieutenant! Attention!" Uh oh, here's where the felgercarb hit the fan. She surely heard about her file getting hacked by now. I stopped, gulped, and stood at attention. "About face!" I turn 180 degrees. "Now, Lieutenant.. what's your hurry?" "I'm late for my sim time ma'am." She eyed me suspiciously. I silently prayed that she believed me. "Hmmmm... I wonder... Alright,Lieutenant. I'll give you the benifit of the doubt...Be more careful when you come around a corner. I don't want to report you again for knocking me down." She said with a smile. I rubbed my jaw absently. "Yes,Ma'am." I saluted her. "Dismissed." she said as she returned my salute. I got out of there as quick as possible without making it obvious to Major Brie. I got around the corner and leaned up against the wall and audibly exhaled. "That was too close." I made a mental note to be more careful. I was glad I encrypted the message that came with the report on Turner. If anyone tried to access the message or the file it would delete itself before anyone could retrieve it and release a virus wiping that terminal of all info. * * * Charybdis "I'm here, Colonel," came the response from Cpt. Skyler. He had immediately raced to the location of the computer terminal that was used in the hacking of Brie's file, but it was long shut down by the time Skyler got there.
"Frack. Is there any log in?" I asked.
"Just normal codes, other than the old log-in."
"Print it and bring it to the bridge. I'll meet you there with Sheba. Out."
Things were getting bad. This was serious and needed to be stopped and fast. Someone was after Brie and we needed to know fast. And, she needed to know too.
"Brie. Report to the bridge immediately." I sent the message.
I quickly left for the bridge, but not before I made a quick response to Lt. Artus in Medlab. Seemed he needed to speak with me about something. I told him I'd be there when I could find the time. * * *

Brie Having received a message from Colonel Charybdis to report to the bridge, Brie put the thought of who was trying to break into her file away into the back of her mind. She was glad for the interruption, she just hoped that it wasn’t anything serious. After running into Cylons in the last system it probably had something to do with having the squadron prepared when they came out of the jump, just in case. Hearing that Major BatGal and Captain Justin had also wanted Brie to report to the bridge just added to that thought. On her way to the bridge Lieutenant Hawke literally walked into Brie, knocking her down. Her relationship with Hawke was strange. There was still a bit of nervousness on Hawke’s part whenever he saw Brie, and it showed more than usual this time. Brie held nothing against Hawke for what had happened, in fact she admired him for it. Not many people, even warriors, would be willing to turn away from everyone and everything to help solve an internal problem. After talking with her for a micron Hawke took off down the hall, almost running. It was strange. As she continued towards the bridge Brie couldn’t help thinking about Hawke. If he hadn’t taken a temporary leave from Gold Squadron he might have been made Captain. Her mind drifted to one conversation with him in particular. He had wanted to find Turner, but Brie had said no. Hawke had wanted to find Turner. Brie stopped in her tracks. No, it couldn’t have been Hawke who had been poking around in her file. He wouldn’t have done that, not if she had asked him not to. Besides, someone had told her that Hawke was in the middle of a pyramid game around the same time that the file was broken into. Brie approached the bridge, relieved to see Captain Skyler there as well. After all, he was Gold Squadron second-in-command. That just showed it had to be squadron business. It couldn’t have anything to do with her file, Charybdis wouldn’t share that with anyone. Skyler couldn’t know that there was even a classified section in Brie’s file, his mind might come up with a worse scenario than what was in there. Although she didn’t know what the next mission might be, she approached Charybdis and Skyler. * * * Killjoy Brie approached the bridge, relieved to see Captain Skyler there as well. ___________________________________________________________ Killjoy was standing next to Capt. Justin, and was being watched closely by Major BatGal. He was more than a bit nervous about the inevitable situation. He tried to act as calm as he knew how and began to wonder if maybe he should have lied to Justin and avoided this whole mess. As he looked around the Bridge there was a very impressive collection of brass there. There was some whispered conversation between Charybdis and Skyler, as well as some strange looks thrown in his direction by the various bridge personnel. Apparently it wasn't common to see a Lieutenant on the Callisto Bridge. Funny thing was, this Lieutenant was the one with the answer that the other officers were looking for. Killjoy wasn’t under arrest but he did feel very much under an ax. After a few centons, that seemed like a lifetime, the doors opened and Major Brie stepped onto the bridge. She glanced around at the other officers and walked right to Charybdis and Skyler. There was a short conversation in witch Charybdis said. " We'll talk about this in my office in a few centons, Right now lets see what Major BatGal has on her mind." "Major, I assume you called us all here for a reason, we have things to discuss with Major Brie, so if you don’t mind, make it quick." Now Charybdis had also noticed Killjoy and looked at him with a raised brow. BatGal spoke up. " Well sir, we are all somewhat aware that the computers security protocols were recently breached. What we didn’t know, till now, was by who. Seems Lieutenant Killjoy here was able to provide me with that information." Killjoy feels the weight of the universe on him as the collected officers look in his direction. As he turned to get a look of support from Justin, some one grabbed his arm and spun him around. Now he was staring very agitated Brie right in the eyes. "What do you know Lieutenant, who was it and how did you find out?" Killjoy took a step back from the now very upset and charging Major. She reached out and grabbed the collar of his flight jacket and pulled him nose to nose with her. "Tell me what you know Killjoy, or so help me I'll".... "MAJOR! Stand down and let him go. That’s an order!" Charybdis had put an end to her advance but it took some time before she regained herself and let go. Killjoy looked at Justin, his only support in this. Justin gave a nod to assure Killjoy that he would be in his corner though this ordeal. He turned back to the Colonel's direction and took a deep breath and was ready to talk. But then Colonel Charybdis ordered Killjoy, Brie and Skyler into his office and sealed the doors After the doors closed, Charybdis was the first to speak after several microns of silence. "Lieutenant…ah Killjoy is it?" Killjoy gave a nod as he straightened his uniform. "Good, Tell me every detail of what you know about the events and the person who broke into the computer. Do you know what they were after?" "Colonel Charybdis Sir. The person who broke into the files did it from a maintenance bay on deck 3, terminal number 117Alpha. They used an old military access code to get in and another to try to get at a restricted file. They didn’t get the restricted information. When the codes failed the terminal went into a security alert and he terminated the connection. The individual left no trace of their presence." Colonel Charybdis looked at Brie and Skyler. They all knew that these where exact details of the first breach. Skyler ask the next question. "That’s good Lieutenant, now when exactly are you going to tell us who it is, and how you know all the details?" Killjoy took another breath, and looked at Brie then back to the Colonel. Then he cleared his throat, and tried to summon up his best subordinate military voice. "Colonel Charybdis Sir, I was the one who perpetrated the security breach from the maintenance bay on deck 3, terminal 117Alpah. My reason for doing so was to gain personal information on Major Brie. It was not a matter of espionage but rather a matter of"....Killjoy coulnt belive what he was about to say......"Romantic infatuation." * * * Charybdis "romantic infatuation" was how the words popped out of Killjoy's mouth. It took a micron to register. I looked over at Brie and Skyler and I think they were still computing what the young Lieutenant had just said as well. A look of disbelief was all I could definitely catch on their faces. "What? " I exclaimed. Killjoy was looking real nervous by now. He was surrounded by a lot of high-ranking officers, officers who held his entire military career in the palms of their hands. "Yes, sir." killjoy responded, "romantic infatuation." he repeated. Before anyone else said anything, I continued, "Lieutenant. I suggest you tell us everything as to how this happened. Now!" I'm sure Brie really wanted to know about this... * * *

Artus Still stuck in Medbay, Artus was getting more bored by the micron. He called over one of the nurses.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but do you think Doc is going to want me to stay here much longer? You see, I am a Colonial Warrior and I do have some duties to attend to..."
"Oh no you don't." the nurse replied; "You are currently under orders to rest. And so you will rest. I'm sure you are really very brave and all that, but the universe will have to take care itself for a few centons. It can do without lieutenant Artus for a while."
Artus tried to give her his best lost little youg Dagget-puppy look.
"Oh yes, and one more thing lieutenant.." she continued.
"Yes nurse.." Artus said with a hopefull tone to his voice.
"Stop trying to look up my skirt. If I catch you again, you're going on report."
Artus face really darkened at that comment.
He started thinking to himself. Oh well, at least Colonel Charibdys had agreed to come see him when he found the time for it. Artus understood that the Colonel was obviously a very busy man. But it would be good to be able to talk about his situation concerning Amy with a superior officer, who would hopefully be able to tell him what to do. * * * Killjoy Colonel Charybdis fired at Killjoy again. "Lieutenant. I suggest you tell us everything as to how this happened. Now!"
Again Killjoy tried to clear the lump in his throat, but didn’t have much luck. He really didn't get the purpose of Colonel Charybdis' question.
'Well, Sir I really don’t know how to answer that. How does anyone find them selves attracted to another? As for the computers, Well I just found a terminal and went at it till I found what I was looking for."
Skyler ask a question but Killjoy barley heard it as he watch for Major Brie's reaction.
"Lieutenant Killjoy, Where did you get the codes?"
Killjoy didn’t respond right away and Skyler had to repeat himself.
"Lieutenant!"
"Sir?"
"The codes Lieutenant, where did you get them?"
Killjoy couldn’t get Kaylib into this, so for the first time ever he lied to higher-ranking office.
"The codes belonged to my father Sir"
Killjoy didn’t even know his father and Kaylib wouldn’t give him codes that could be traced so this seemed be a logical solution.
Again the Captain questioned him.
"You know your fathers access codes. I suppose he just told you what the were?"
"No Sir He did not, I was a kid when I saw them. You know how kids are, always into things they shouldn’t be Sir."
Colonel Charybdis chimed in.
"Things they shouldn’t be, Kind of like you now, wouldn’t you say Lieutenant."
"Yes Sir"
"Ok Lieutenant." …Colonel Charybdis Stood and moved to the end of his desk…." Now we know why you broke security from the deck 3 maintenance bay, Now why did you see fit to try it the second time from terminal 357 On Alpha deck……
Killjoy and Brie both spoke up and cut him off.
(Killjoy And Bire) "Second time?" * * * Brie "Romantic infatuation." The words sounded so strange to Brie. She barely knew Killjoy, but he had been very helpful when she and Skyler were trying to solve the mystery on the 5th floor. But romantic infatuation? It just seemed like such a ridiculous thing for Killjoy to say. There had to be more to it than that.
Then a bigger bombshell hit. It had happened again, a second security breach. Killjoy seemed as surprised as she did. Maybe that was a cover. Maybe he came up with the infatuation felgercarb to cover the real reason for trying to get into her file. Maybe he wasn't working alone. Maybe their internal problems were just beginning… * * * Charybdis "Second time?" both Brie and Killjoy said in unison.
Something didn't seem right. Killjoy acted as if he didn't know what the frack I was talking about.
"Lt. Killjoy, what time did you log on to the terminal?" I asked.
"Well, sir, I guess it was about 11:30. But that was the only time I logged on" came the innocent-sounding response.
It didn't add up. From what Killjoy told us about his escapade, by the time the second attempt occurred, he was with Cpt. Justin. That could only mean...
I sensed we'd better cut off the conversation. Quickly I dismissed Lt. Killjoy. "Lt., wait outside until further notice, please. If we need anything else, we'll notify you."
"Yes, sir," killjoy stiffly saluted and walked out.
As the door shut behind him, Brie asked what was going on about a second time.
"If killjoy is telling us the truth about when he logged on, then we've got a whole 'nother problem. We received an alert on the system at approximately 12:15 from Terminal 357 on Alpha deck. Someone else was trying to hack into your files Brie. I sent Skyler to check on it as fast as we could, but he didn't find anything. However, the terminal did leave an access code which I have right here."
I handed the printout to Brie. She took it and looked it over.
"Whatever it is, Brie, it isn't over. If killjoy did hack in the first time, innnocent as it appears, then someone else is still out there trying to find out something about you."
Brie looked off for a moment trying to make sense of it all... * * *

Killjoy When Killjoy stepped out of the Colonel Charybdis' Office he had no intention of waiting around for the ax to fall a second time. There was something happening aboard this bird and he didn’t like the feel of it. Justin was still on the bridge and saw him as he made for the door.
"Killjoy, what's your hurry, tell me what happened in there." Justin actually looked concerned.
"Why didn’t you tell me there was a second breach Captain? I thought you wanted to help me here! I just went in there and spilled my gut to those three and now they tell me there was a second breach! Thanks for the "Heads Up" Justin, oh excuse me, I mean Captain! I only broke into the system once, but now that I let you talk me into confessing, who do you think they'll hang the second one on?
Killjoy held out both arms. "That right Sir, Yours Truly! You got your man!"
Justin didn’t know what to think or what to say, but he tried.
"Killjoy what the frack are you talking about? What second breach? I didn’t know about a sec……"
Killjoy threw up his hand to cut off Justin's words and fearing the Captain would try to restrain him, placed his hand near his weapon.
"What now Killjoy? Going to shoot me?
"No Sir, not unless I have too, but Im not going to hang around here and go to prison either!"
"Killjoy you didn’t do anything bad enough to worry with prison, I have already told you that. What are you going to do leave the ship in the middle of a jump? Why don’t you just calm down and talk too me. No one can help you till you calm down!"
"Calm down, Calm down he says. Suppose you were in my place, would you be calm. Suppose it was you they were getting ready to hang out to dry? What would you do Captain?"
Justin placed his hand on Killjoys shoulder and Killjoy started to pull away but he just gripped it tighter.
"First thing I do Killjoy, is trust my friends"
Trust, a word that was never really a part of Killjoy's vocabulary. With his past, trusting was almost out of the question and trusting the wrong person would get a guy killed. Maybe this is why he wasn’t a better combat pilot, and why he always an outcast, considered a lose cannon. It was like a light went on in his head, no one trust him, because he has no trust in them. He looked at his friend's eyes and saw something there that till now he never knew. Justin actually gave a frack about what was going on with him.
"Your right Justin, I'm sorry. If you say you didn’t know about the second breach then you didn’t know. But you know I'm going to get the blame, how do we deal with that?"
"I don’t know yet Killjoy. Lets see what happens when they call you back in."
"Well you could just spare me the trouble an shoot me now." Killjoy actually smiled.
"Na, save it for when the find you guilty."
Both men were laughing quietly when the door to Colonel Charybdis' Office opened… * * * JustinB As the door opened, Killjoy came storming out. By the look in on his face, something had gone wrong. The accusation that I set him up struck deeply. When I thought things couldn't get any worse, he places his hand on his weapon.
'What’s next,' I thought. I tried to tell him to calm down, with no effect. When he asked me what I would do in his shoes, I grabbed his shoulder and gripped tighter when he tried to pull away and said sincerely, "First thing I do Killjoy, is trust my friends."
The words trust and friends made Killjoy stop and think. A few microns later he looked at me and said ""Your right JustinB, I'm sorry. If you say you didn’t know about the second breach then you didn’t know. But you know I'm going to get the blame, how do we deal with that?"
"I don’t know yet Killjoy. Lets see what happens when they call you back in." I replied.
"Well you could just spare me the trouble and shoot me now." Killjoy said smiling back at me.
"Nah, save it for when you find the guilty."
We both men laughed quietly. The door to Colonel Charybdis' Office opened and out came the Colonel. Before he could say anything I looked at him and said, "Sir, I just want to let you know, that Lieutenant Killjoy has my full support. Even though he did break a few regs, he did not have the chance to make any other attempts because he was with me at the apparent time of the second attempted hack into Major Brie's file.” Hopefully my intervention will make any punishment a light one for Kill joy.
Turning to Killjoy I said, “Killjoy, If I have to, I will try and find out who the hacker is. But next time, try and talk to the female you are attracted too and stay away from computer terminals ok!” * * * Brie NOTE-This is obviously before the office door opened.
***
“What do we know about this Killjoy?” Brie asked Charybdis. “I know him slightly, he helped Skyler and me out with a problem back when everyone else was after the crawlon queen and manpower was low. Besides that and his trying to sneak out of the sick bay...”
“He tried to sneak out of sick bay?” Charybdis asked. “When? Why was he there?”
“I found him passed out,” Brie explained. “A day or so ago. He tried to leave, Doc said he seems to have a problem with doctors. Turns out he has Borrelian Phage.”
Charybdis held in a laugh. “Borrelian Phage? You’ve got to be kidding.”
“No. But those are the only times I’ve had any dealings with him. I’ve hardly ever seen him around, not in the O Club, not in the Weight Room, not even playing pyramid. I had thought he was just having a hard time making friends, but maybe...”
“You think he’s working with someone?” Charybdis asked.
“Makes a whole lot more sense than this ‘romantic infatuation’ felgercarb,” Brie said.
Charybdis chose his words carefully. “Are you sure you’re not just thinking about the past? About what happened when Turner disappeared?”
“This has nothing to do with Turner,” Brie said, slightly aggravated. As good a friend as Charybdis was, he still sometimes treated her like she was fragile, and it drove her nuts. “I just don’t want anyone poking around in my files. What’s in the restricted section can’t be made public.”
“It’s not that bad,” Charybdis said.
“You sound like Lazant,” Brie mumbled quietly.
“Excuse me?” He hadn’t quite heard her, but she couldn’t have said what it had sounded like.
“Nothing,” Brie said. “So, how do you want to play this?”
“I'll have Skyler run a background check. And let’s go talk to Killjoy,” Charybdis suggested. “Maybe we can figure out if he’s working with someone.”
“Or if I have another enemy on my hands,” Brie said. “If I have to play dead again, I am NOT hiding out under your bed this time.” * * *

Charybdis We walked out of the office and saw Lt. killjoy standing there with Cpt. JustinB.
(this picks up after the previous post).
"Lt. killjoy. Until further notice, you are hereby placed on administrative leave, relieved of your flight duty and placed under personal recognizance of Cpt. JustinB. Your case will be brought up to the Opposer and Cmdr. Sheba to see if she wants to further the inquiry. Do you understand?"
killjoy's eyes dropped to the floor and he nodded slightly.
"Dismissed. Cpt. JustinB," he snapped to attention, "I expect secton reports as to the Liuetenant's actions and activities. I hope it does not place too heavy a burden on you."
"No, sir. It's just fine." he responded and saluted. He left with killjoy in tow...
I turned to Brie, "If anything happens with killjoy, Justin will report it. He's one of the finest officers onboard, so I think killjoy's in good hands."
"I hope so, Charybdis, uh.. I mean Colonel." Brie replied.
"And Brie," she turned, "watch out. The trouble is still out there." I told her.
She nodded... * * * Hawke I need to try to verify the report on Turner! Everywhere I go I run into roadblocks... I try to think.. Where would be a place where I could get into Brie's records where it won't be too obvious. I take a gamble and head to the bridge. I walk through the door and I see Charybdis,Brie,JustinB and another warrior that I haven't seen before. Awww frack. I can't do what I need to do here. JustinB excuses himself and comes by me. "Hawke, can I talk to you for a micron?" Uh-oh... What now? Surely he wouldn't have a clue about what I'm upto. I salute him and say,"Uh,sure Captain, what's up?" "At ease Hawke. This is personal. Can we go somewhere & talk?" "Sure. What's this about?" We enter the pilots ready room. "Rose." he says. I stop in my tracks. "What about her?" I ask. * * * Killjoy Killjoy walked just a few steps behind Justin as they left the bridge. As they walked Killjoy pretty much just looked at the floor and tried to absorb what Charybdis had just said. Then he heard Justin speak.
"Hawke, can I talk to you for a micron?"
Killjoy looked up to see another man in the corridor, he didn’t recognize the guy.
"Uh, sure Captain, what's up?" the man was a Lieutenant and snapped a quick salute.
Justin didn’t return the salute and the man looked toward Killjoy and he responded with nothing more than a nod.
"At ease Hawke. This is personal. Can we go somewhere and talk?"
"Sure. What's this about?" the man looked back at Killjoy, but Killjoy's eyes were again to the floor.
Justin pointed to the pilot's ready room and taps Killjoy shoulder and motioned for him to follow them. Just before they enter Killjoy decides he needs to be alone for a while and think, and spoke up.
"Excuse me Captain, with you permission, Id like to stop by Medlab to see Artus, then just go to my quarters. Between all this excitement and this blasted Pha….." Killjoy almost said it…..uh, I just don’t feel well Sir. Besides you told the man this is personal."
Justin looked at Killjoy kind of hard, he noticed the man didn’t look all that good, and under the circumstances he knew why.
"Ok Killjoy, but make sure it's to Medlab and then you quarters. Ill get with you there in about a centar or so. We'll talk then, agreed?"
"Yes Sir" Killjoy turned to leave, then Justin called to him.
"Ah, Killjoy there is one other thing." …Justin pointed to Killjoy's hip…"With you on administrative leave, I'm afraid I have too ask for you weapon. I'll keep it for you and when we get this all cleared up I'll see you get it back."
Killjoy gripped the weapon and paused, he had carried it so much over the last few months that it had become a part of him. It was the one thing in the universe Killjoy had complete trust in, as long as he took care of it, this weapon it would care of him.
Killjoy drew the weapon, checked the safety, then handed it to Justin grip first.
"Thanks Killjoy, everything's going to work out. I'll do all I can."
"Well Sir I don’t know how its going to turn out, but I have been I worse situations, figure I flew a mission with you and survived didn’t I." Killjoy actually made a joke.
Justin pointed a finger "Keep it up smart a**, now get going I'll hook up with you in a while."
"Justin, you got a plan right?" Killjoy was looking to his friend.
"Not yet, but I'm working on it, go see Artus."
With all the weird stuff going on Killjoy wasn't pleased with being unarmed, but he did have the little hand laser his adoptive father had given him. It was tucked away nice and neat in a special holster in the small of his back covered by his jacket. He just hoped Brie and Skyler had forgotten about the little bugger. Brie, that was the last person he wanted to run into just now. So he planned the fastest route to Medlab.
When he walked into Medlab, Artus had his own brand of trouble. Seem a nurse had caught him trying to check out what was under her skirt and in was the middle of chewing him out.
"Oh yes, and one more thing Lieutenant.." she continued.
"Yes nurse.." Artus said with a hopeful tone to his voice.
"Stop trying to look up my skirt. If I catch you again, you're going on report."
Artus didn’t look pleased with her reaction, as Killjoy walked up to him and spoke.
"Hey Artus, dagget-puppy eye thing didn’t work eh?
"How can ya tell Killjoy."
"Never does with these military gals, I don’t get it either."
The nurse just looked at them with distaste and walked out. And Killjoy looked at Artus as he spoke.
"Ump….Something we said?" the two had a short laugh.
"So when they letting you outa here anyway?'
"Don’t have a clue, Killjoy, but I hope its soon. I need a drink."
"Well that I can help you with, but don’t tell no one where you got it, I'm in enough trouble as it is. "
Killjoy slips a small silver flask under Artus' blanket and pats it gently.
"That should hold you over for a day or two. Sorry I can't stay longer but I'm in trouble and have been sent to my room."
Artus looked at Killjoy's empty holster. "Looks like it must be some major trouble."
They shook hands and Killjoy left Medlab. As he walked toward his quarters Killjoy heard Artus' words in his head, 'Major Trouble' if Artus only knew how right he was.
Killjoy made it his bunk and landed on it hard. He was about to doze off when his com beeped. Doc was calling from Medlab. He decided to ignore it. After all this is where he was ordered to be. * * * JustinB As Killjoy walked off, his situation had me distracted.
"JustinB, you wanted to tell me something about Rose? Hawke said.
"Yes I did Hawke," I replied pausing briefly, "Well I know that you and Rose were a couple for a very long time. Even now she still harbours some feelings for you. What I am trying to say, is that in recent times we have spent a lot of time together lately. So I thought you better be the first to know, that I want to fully commit to Rose and take the next step. I would rather you found out from me than on the Callisto grapevine. I hope we could still be friends."
Without much else to say I left it at that. I got myself ready should he want to try and have a go at me, not that I would blame him. * * *

Hawke I studied JustinB for a micron. I could tell he was bracing himself incase I did something stupid. I sighed audibly and I held out my hand. "Congratulations. I'm very happy for you. I hope you two are very happy together. And thank you for telling me first before someone else did." He took my hand and shook it. "Tell her that if she ever wants to talk to me, she can come to me. About anything. What I did was stupid. I admit it. Going into a self imposed exile was not exactaly the best thing I could have done. I hurt Rose in the process and I'm sorry about that. But there was something that I needed to get done and I couldn't be disturbed." I said. "For a yarhen? What could be so important that you secluded yourself from everyone for a YARHEN?" he asked. "Let's just put it this way, I needed to look for something for a friend and it took that long to find it. Now that I've found it, I can proceed with my life. At this point that's all I can say about it for now. It's bettter for you if you don't ask me any more questions about it." I said. He looked at me like I was a three headed daggit. I smiled to myself. "Ok, if that's what you want, I'll respect your privacy. But if YOU ever want to talk, I'm here for you. Anything that's said will be off the record, between two friends,ok?" I smiled and said "You're a good friend JustinB. Rose is lucky to have you." I left the pilot's ready room trying to think of my next move to verify Turner's data. * * * Lucian “Welcome back, Major!” said a chipper Lieutenant Finky. “Wha-cha do on your forced furlon?” she asked with a grin.
“Thanks for reminding me of that, LIEUTENANT,” Lucian said to his de-facto aide. “Let’s just say I’m glad to be allowed to do something productive again rather than twiddling my thumbs in accordance with ‘orders’.”
It had started the cycle after the jump from Blasannic began. As he had been reviewing the various reports at his station on the Bridge, Commander Sheba had approached, saying, “Major, a word please.”
Following her into her war room, Major stood to attention, wondering why he’d been called out in this manner. He was quite surprised to learn the reason.
“Major, it has come to my attention that you have skipped your last 10 scheduled cycles off. What do you have to say about that?” Sheba asked.
“Umm, there must be a mistake in the personnel records, Commander. You know how the computer system is.”
“The computer records only confirmed MY recollection, Major. Are you saying that I am remembering it wrong, too?”
“Commander, I really don’t remember. You know how busy things have been.”
“Four cycle furlon, Major. You are relieved for four cycles. You are to rest, relax, have fun, whatever…”
* * *
Lucian lived for his work. Unless one was on a planet or a ship like the Rising Star, which he’d only visited once in his time in the fleet, furlons were a complete waste of time.
He’d spent most of the first cycle exercising, running and swimming, and then climbing the wall more times than he could count. The Tech in charge of the exercise facility had finally kicked him out.
He started to visit the O-Club, but there, those on furlon often drank excessively, lost at pyramid, and schemed at ways of connecting with members of the opposite sex. Since Lucian only drank in moderation, and then usually only a toast to those being honored, that didn’t excite him. Since losing credits was counterproductive and not really fun, he usually skipped that, too. The female thing was a real problem. Ever since meeting her yahrens before, his heart had been on one woman, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he knew that the secret must die with him, forever unspoken. He’d tried to put her out of his mind, but he’d been unsuccessful to the point of spurning the only woman who had tried to care for him.
The second and third cycles had been just as bad, so he holed up in his quarters and started construction on a scale model of his childhood home, the Odyssey Nine. Captain Rostammer’s ship had always fascinated him in its versatility and complexity, even as an adult when he’d served as an officer on the ship. Using plastene and a small heating kit borrowed from the Shop, he’d made good progress. Major BatGal, who stopped by for a moment to check on him during the fourth cycle, was his only visitor during the time, and she refused to tell him anything about what was happening with regards to the ship. “Sorry, Lucian. You know, orders.”
By the end of the fourth cycle, the model was 80 percent complete. At the end of the cycle, he picked up the heating kit and returned it to Gruber in the shop. Gruber said, “Ma-jur, dat looks like a good project. When ya’ gonna’ finish it?”
“Thanks for the kit, Gruber, but in answer to your question, I’m not. Recycle it for me.”
As Lucian walked out of the Shop, leaving his past behind, Gruber stood questioningly with his head cocked slightly, holding the little ship in his hands.
* * *
He sat down to check the preliminary squadron assignments for the upcoming system, but instead, found that there had been numerous problems in his absence. Of particular importance, according to the reports, a transmission of unknown origin had forced a change in flight plans. The Callisto would need to add an extra jump to throw off any Cylons who might be pursuing the Battlestar.
Lucian picked up the latest reports from the squadron leaders and began to read. Being back on the Bridge where he was actually doing something useful for a change, he had the first real smile on his face since the start of his "furlon." * * * Stadia Stadia absently mindly walked onto the bridge looking for the Col. She bumped into something. She looked up to face Major Lucian.
"Sorry Major."
"Its ok. What brings you to the bridge?" He asks noticing her grin.
"Have you seen the Col.?" * * * Lucian "Good to see you smiling, Captain Stadia. It is a wonderful day to be alive and prepared to kick Cylon tin-cans, even if we are in a jump where we can't reach them and they can't reach us at the moment. As for the Colonel, he's right over there," said Lucian, with a nod.
"Thank you, Major," said Stadia as she moved on in the Colonel's direction. Lucian was glad to see someone else happy about something today.
Caught up on his report reading, he knew that he needed to check in with the Squadrons. One of his duties as Senior Flight Officer was to make sure that duties were scheduled equitably, so he buzzed each of the three Squadron Leaders, and set appointments for later in the cycle. He was surprised when Major Brie seemed a little evasive, as if she had something else on her mind. He hated to say it, but maybe she could use a little time off, too. He turned to the monitor, and brought up her file to review her recent work history. Yes, it looked like Commander Sheba would probably agree that Brie could use some time off, too, so he decided to make the suggestion. As he moved on to another task, he was surprised to look up to see Colonel Charybdis staring directly into his eyes with a questioning look from across the bridge.
The Colonel was not smiling. * * *

Stadia Stadia stared at the Col. and noticed him give the major a look. She started to squirm waiting for the Col. to say something.
Her thoughts wondered back to this morning and Marcus. A smile slowly slid across her face. She relished the touches.
".....been made aware of you antics. Capt. Stadia? Capt. Stadia", he said waving his hand in front of her face.
"I am sorry sir. You were saying?"
"Capt. Stadia are you ok?" he asked showing concern.
"Yes sir I am."
He looked at her not sure what to believe. "As I was saying I received a report on your antics but due to circumstances, I havent had time to address them." * * * Marcus After leaving Staida I headed to the barracks to get a turbo wash and then head for med bay. I could still picture her in my mind. I think it will have to be a cold turbo wash. After the cold wash I got dressed and headed out to med bay.
I got to med bay to check in on Artus. "Hello Artus how are you feeling? I see they still have you here. Sorry I have not gotten the chance to come in and check how you are doing."
Marcus turned and asked the nurse "Excuse me nurse but how much longer are they going to keep Lt. Artus in here?" * * * Amy After breakfast I headed over to the simulators to see what might be done to investigate the way the shuttle rolled after we attempted the Starbuck-style landing in Alpha bay. I entered the Sim center and approached the techs, explaining my reason for being there.
"Well Captain" a tech replied, "we'd have to write a program for it, since there's only Viper data to go by. That type of shuttle landing has never been attempted before." We walked toward a wall of monitors and other computer equipment. "We did download all data that we could from the wreck, so we should be able to set something up close to what you guys encountered."
"Great" I replied. "Can we get started?"
"Sure" he answered. "I'm going to need to input a lot of data to set up the program. Care to give your fingers a workout?"
I sat down at a keyboard. "Ready when you are" I replied with a smile. Soon the program began to take shape, and it wouldn't be long before we'd be able to run a trial simulation. After that, we'd see how it reacts until we had it right.
"Okay" the tech said, "What I need now is to input the cargo you were carrying. Is this list accurate? Let's see, 4 crates of explosive charges, 2 snowsleds, one snowram, five..."
"I'd better do it" I interrupted. "We used the explosives, and we came back minus the snowram."
"It's crucial you are accurate. What you were carrying as well as where it was stowed."
I nodded that I understood. "Lt. Marcus should be in on this" I said. It'd be better if he piloted the sim when it was ready to run. I keyed my comlink, and asked core central to locate him, and have him report to the sim center whenever his duty cycle started * * * Artus Marcus got to med bay to check in on Artus. "Hello Artus how are you feeling? I see they still have you here. Sorry I have not gotten the chance to come in and check how you are doing."
Marcus turned and asked the nurse "Excuse me nurse but how much longer are they going to keep Lt. Artus in here?"
The nurse turned and smiled at Marcus; "I'm sorry, I am currently not at liberty to divulge that information. As you can no doubt see, I am not a doctor, but only a nurse, and all I seem to be good enough for is changing the beds around here and being subjected to the leering looks and derogatory comments of this patient and his visitors."
With those words she walked out of medbay.
Marcus looked at Artus eith surprise on his face.
"I know." Artus said; "And please, don't even ask."
Marcus grinned.
"Anyway, " Artus continued; "I never got to thankm you for flying all of us back here in one piece. So thanks. By the way, I hear you and the ice queen have been getting it on. Tell me about that.."
Marcus now grinned from ear to ear.
"First you have to tell me how you are getting on with Captain Amy." he responded.
Artus had a very difficult look on his face.
"You know buddy, " he said; "I really wish that I could tell you more about that, but I currently don't really know how things are myself, so if it's OK, I'll get back to you on that one. Tell me about you and Stadia first..." * * * Stadia Marcus heard a beep indicating he had a message. He walked over to the comm panel and keyed in his code. He laughed. It was from Stadia. She wanted to meet him again in their special place. * * * Artus "What was that?" Artus said.
"Oh, a message from Stadia," was Marcus' reply; "she wants to meet with me again."
"Oh boy, " was Artus swift response; "she sure keeps you on a short leash."
Marcus grinned.
"No seriously kid, " Artus said again; "it looks like the ice queen has got you whipped." * * * Marcus "Artus if you would do me a favor and not call her that. At least in front of me. I care for Stadia and that does not make me whipped as you put it." "I enjoy spending my time with someone that will at least care back. She has been the first woman that I can say has really cared for me and I wont let anything stand in the way of that."
"Well I am glad to see that you are ok Artus. Try to stay away from the nurse. I would hate to see you in worse shape form her doing something bad to you if you get her angry." I smiled and laughed. "I will check back in on you latter. Get well." I headed out of med bay. * * *

Artus Marcus said;"Artus if you would do me a favor and not call her that. At least in front of me. I care for Stadia and that does not make me whipped as you put it." "Look pal, " Artus called after him;" I'm sorry I insulted your girlfriend, it's just that I was a little upset with her for busting me and Killjoy when we made our escape. It's just that I feel really useless lying here with all these silly cables coming out of me. I just want to get back into the action. "
And back to Amy, he thought to himself.
"Anyway, thanks for stopping by, my friend." Artus said into the now empty hallway. * * * Hawke I started walking back to my quarters. Rose & JustinB? I couldn't get over it. What would she see in him? "Look at what you did to her you moron. It's a wonder she's still in the same squadron as you." I said to myself. After all she did transfer to Gold squadron from Black to be closer to me. I got back to my quarters and went to a hidden panel in the wall. I opened it and pulled out a bag. I opened the bag and pulled out a bunch of goodies. "Where are you?" I asked myself. I found what I needed. "There you are!" I pulled out what I needed and put the rest back. I bring the object with me and hook it upto my terminal. I logon to it using a faked access code. "Computer, reroute this terminal's activity to another terminal." I said. "What terminal number?" the computer asked. "Beta flight deck compartment 17 Beta." I said. "Accessing.... Connection established." Good. "Computer access the bridge computer." "Accessing.....Connection established." I smiled. Ok now for the hard part. "Computer, access Colonial Military file, 'Brie, Rank:Major' Colonial Warrior service number 54654598." "This is a classified file. Access denied." "Computer, override classification, Security authorization Aries Nine Two Seven Eight." "Access Granted...Hello Commander Sheba. Here is the data you requested." I look at Major Brie's file very thouroghly trying to find out what happened to Turner. "Hmmm.. Interesting. It's not here. Why not?" I say to myself. Could the data not have been entered into her record because she didn't know? Woah, the plot thickens. "Computer, print out Major Brie's file." "Printing." "Computer, access Colonial Military File Turner, Rank:Captain Colonial Warrior Service Number 21470694" "Accessing.....Access granted." (OT: I'm hoping that's Turner's rank. Couldn't find the post where we talked,Brie. Sorry.) I looked at his last mission. There were some descreprancies from the info I had. The last thing entered in his file was he and his wingman Ensign Cal had been declared MIA. I continue to look at and print out the classified information for a centar. My terminal I was using had a router on it which re-directed itself to a new term on the ship every 3 centons in case of a trace.
I disconnected from the network and put away my re-router. I beging doing some work trying to make sense of all that was going on. * * * JustinB "You're a good friend JustinB. Rose is lucky to have you." I replayed Hawke’s parting gesture over in my mind. I wasn't convinced he was happy for me. I did know he still cared for Rose deeply. I would tell Rose about my conversation when I saw her next, but it would have to wait until after I talked with Killjoy. As I walked towards the barracks another thing stuck in my head. Hawke’s self imposed exile and asking me not to ask questions. There was something not quite right with him. He would definitely need an eye kept on him. Before I could start guessing, I had arrived at the barracks and located Killjoy.
"Hey Killjoy," I said.
"Hi JustinB," he replied.
"Look, I need to know a few things," handing him a full hip-flask I went on, "starting off with you finding out the authorisation codes. Then I want to know what info you did get and lastly why you have fallen so head over heels with Major Brie. Surely you could have started off romancing someone like Lieutenant Finky. Don't worry, it's all of the record," I said finishing of with a smile. * * *

Killjoy After what seemed to be a much too short nap. Killjoy walked to the other side of the room and splashed a little water on his face to help wake himself up. As he did he heard Justin's voice.
"Hey Killjoy,"
"Hi JustinB,"
They shook hands and sat at a near by table, as Justin spoke.
"Look, I need to know a few things," handing Killjoy a full hip-flask then going on, "starting off with you finding out the authorization codes. Then I want to know what info you did get and lastly why you have fallen so head over heels with Major Brie. Surely you could have started off romancing someone like Lieutenant Finky. Don't worry, it's all of the record," Justin said finishing of with a smile.
Killjoy looked at the flask in his hand. He sure could use a drink of this right now but he remembered what the Doc had told him about the medication and the effect combining it with alcohol. So he just sat it on the table.
Justin looked surprised to see the man not drinking, and had a slight look of insult on his face, prompting killjoy to tell him about his "Kiddy Disease".
"No offence Justin but Doc cut me off for a few days. Seems I managed to contract Borrelian Phage, and the meds don’t mix well with the booze."
Justin looked at Killjoy trying hard not to insult the man by laughing in his face.
"Oh well Killjoy, in that case none taken. But one of these days I got to hear the whole story on this Phage thing"
"Yea, like that’s going to happen!" came Killjoy's response.
"Well lets get started Killjoy, where did you get the codes, and like I said its off the record."
Killjoy was not comfortable with telling Justin about Kaylib but figured Justin would keep it quiet.
"I got them from a guy I met a while back, an old warrior from back when Commander Apollo was still just a Captain. The ol' boy hears thing, seems he know more about us than we do about ourselves."
Justin looked at Killjoy.
"This ol' boy got a name?"
"Yes sir, he's called Kaylib. He's among the men listed as a hero from the battle back when the Cylons tried to ambush the fleet and feed us all to the Ovions."
A light went on in Justins head.
"Kaylib, he's a maintenance guy now right. Knows everything and every one, even if they don’t know him?"
Killjoy smiled. "That’s him, kinda spooky isn't he. He and I met back when I first got here, that’s the same time I met Bri…. I mean Major Brie."
" So this Kaylib is the source of the codes you used then?"
"Yes Sir"
Another question from Justin.
"Ok, tell me what information you got from the computer Killjoy."
"Nothing really just name, rank, service number. I learned she married but her husband is MIA but never declared dead. I know where she was born and how old she is, she's been decorated a couple times and has a few commendations on file. She had a fine record at the academy, nothing that you wouldn’t find in any service record. There was the classified stuff and I did try to get at it but the codes I used were out of date, but I have already told you that."
'So that it Killjoy, That all you got from the computer? Nothing else?"
"Yes Sir, that’s all I got."
"Ok Killjoy, now I need to know one more thing. Why Major Brie. Why were you in her file? I know what you have said but I need you to reassure me it’s the truth."
Killjoy didn’t really want to say it again but he understood where Justin was coming from so he answered the question.
" Attempted to gain access to Major Brie's file because I wanted to know more about her. Not as an officer or a warrior, just as Brie. Justin even though I'm in all this trouble I cant stop thinking about this woman. So its just like I told the brass. 'Romantic infatuation."
"Ok Killjoy, stay put and let me check into a few things. It's going to be tough but I don’t think there will be any formal charges filed anytime soon, at least not if we can prove you didn’t breach the system the second time."
As Justin turned to leave Killjoy called after him.
"Hey Justin, Just remember Kaylib has done his bit for this fleet and lost an arm for his trouble. He's a hero to a lot of people and he's kind important to me. I only have two people on this bird I know I can trust. Lets try hard to keep him outta this mess, please."
Justin smiled at the troubled officer.
"Hey I got it covered Killjoy. Don’t worry."
After the door closed behind Justin, Killjoy again retreated to his bunk. * * * JustinB As I exited Killjoy's room, Lieutenant RaycerX passed by. "RaycerX, how are things?" I asked.
"Not too bad JustinB, but I get bored during jumps," he replied.
"Well RaycerX, I have an assignment for you. You are to go into Killjoy's room and search for any electronic equipment. Anything you find, bring it out here. Once completed you are to stay at this door and make sure nobody except Captain or above are to enter, with Lieutenant Artus being the only exception. You may however talk to him." I ordered.
"What’s going on and why do I have to guard Killjoy. I was on my way to the O'Club."
"What is going on, only Killjoy can tell you. Why because I need an independent officer to verify his whereabouts should something happen. Don't worry though, I'll be back soon enough." I entered Killjoy's room and startled him.
"Killjoy, Lieutenant RaycerX here is going to make sure you don't get into any more trouble. I'm off to see you know who, about you know what." Killjoy nodded.
I made my way to see Kaylib. He might have some information in relation to Killjoy. If he doesn't, well a warning about giving out codes will be just a good a reason to speak to him.
As I made the long walk to see Kaylib, my mind was sidetracked once again by Rose. Then a thought come to me, but it was one that would have to wait until I saw Major BatGal or Major Lucian first. I just hoped this thing about Brie and Killjoy would be over fast. * * *

JustinB
After arriving in the Maintenance area it didn't take me long to find Kaylib. He approached me very cautiously.
"Not exactly the place I'd expect to see a pilot. What can I do for you Captain." he said.
"Kaylib, I need to see you in private. It has something to do with a mutual acquaintance of ours," I said.
Ushering me into his office, Kaylib then sat down and said, "Tell me what Lieutenant Killjoy has done with that set of codes I gave him. Then tell me how you got it out of him that I gave them to him."
"All I need to know is what you know about Killjoy's need for the authorisation code. He told me about you because he is in serious trouble."
"From what I can gather, he needed to look up some woman’s file so he could find out stuff about her. You know, to give him an edge. Mind you, it wouldn't happen in my days. A man would see an attractive woman, go straight up to her and ask her out."
"Kaylib, thank you for your time. By the way have you given out any other codes to anyone else lately?"
"No I haven't. It was a one time deal," Kaylib replied.
"Cause if you have and I find out there will be serious consequences."
I got up and walked away. I had a link now between Kaylib and Killjoy but it ended there. I started to feel hungry, so I went to the O'Club for dinner. Major Lucian was eating by himself and motioned for me to join him.
"How's things JustinB?" he asked.
"Not too bad Major. I am looking into the incident involving Lieutenant Killjoy. I said I would look into it. Which reminds me about another incident. The thing with Ensign Stargazor can you tell me what's going on?" * * * Lucian "Not too bad Major. I am looking into the incident involving Lieutenant Killjoy. I said I would look into it. Which reminds me about another incident. The thing with Ensign Stargazor, can you tell me what's going on?" said JustinB. “Major, he’s been on leave for several sectars now, ever since we left Axces Gamma. Can you check on where it stands?” Justin asked.
“Personnel issues of this nature are really outside my jurisdiction...but, as Senior Flight Officer, the flight status of all Warriors is in my area of my responsibility, ” Lucian replied after a few moments of thought. “He is supposed to be a flight-ready Warrior,” he’d said with a slight grin. “Let me check into it. I agree that this case has dragged on far too long. We have to get this resolved one way or the other, so we can either get Stargazor back in a Viper or shift him to another position. I've got some research to do, and some interviews to conduct, but I'll try to get this resolved before we arrive in the next system."
"Do you need any help, Major?"
"I'll call on you if I do, Justin, but thank you for asking. Now, I hate to ask this, but since it sounds like it might affect the flight status of one of our Warriors, what is up with Killjoy? Anything I should know?" * * * Charybdis Since the meeting on the bridge had ended and all of the personnel had dispersed, I suddenly remembered that message from Lt. Artus. He had requested to speak with me in the MedLab.
I wondered what that was all about. Most Warriors bring up anything with their respective squadron commander, but it must be something important since he requested me personally.
I left the bridge and went to MedLab. I found the Lt. in his bunk. He was wide awake and seemed to be a bit nervous, but I couldn't tell for sure since I didn't know him all that well.
He saw me and immediately straightened up to salute. "Lt. Artus. I received the message you sent me. You need to talk to me for some reason?" I asked him.
"Yes, sir," he replied... * * * Artus Artus saw Charibdys and immediately straightened up to salute. "Lt. Artus. I received the message you sent me." Charibdys spoke;" You need to talk to me for some reason?"
"Yes, sir," Artus replied.
"Well then, out with it man." Charibdys insisted.
"Allright sir, " Artus explained; "but first of all let me explain to you why I went directly to you and not to one of my commanding officers like Major Brie or Captain Amy, whom I both hold in great respect..."
"Yes, yes, you did say that this had something to do with Captain Amy."
Charibdys was starting to loose his patience.
"Well you see, sir, " Artus continued, seemingly oblivious to the other man's annoyaince; " the reason I wanted to speak to you about this matter, especially because it concerns Captain Amy, is that I needed to speak to a male superior officer who would hopefully be able to tell me the correct military procedure when, ehm, when...."
"Yes lieutenant, when what?" Charibdys was just abourt getting pretty annoyed with this man.
"When one suffers from a romantic infactuation, regarding a superior officer, that is." Artus concluded. * * *
