CHAPTER 15—BILLIARDS!

Lucian

On hearing the reports that the asteroid debris was getting thicker with each shot, Major Lucian had ordered the five Black Squadron Warriors on stand-by to their Vipers in Beta Bay. Joining them, he climbed in and prepared for launch, awaiting the order that hopefully would not come. Over the comm, he heard the order to report to the designated room, but he'd put in a call to the bridge and requested and been given clearance to skip it due to the current mission. With a little prying, he was able to find what it was about, so he'd sent a short birthday message to Lieutenant Amy in place of his physical presence.

Now they waited, hoping that the Warriors on the mission would succeed without the need of assistance.

Holodoc2000

Holodoc walked back into MedLab & went straight to her sleeping area there. She was in no mood to go down to the O'Club for whatever it was that was going on there now currently. For to her, Holodoc felt as though that she was completely alone at the moment. It had been awhile since she had even seen Anubis & it appeared that she was basically left all alone again to fend for herself & that the only one's she could depend on was Jarrynn, & her four legged friends Jadzia, Abby Tabby, & BrieCORA.

Holodoc layed down on her bed there in her sleeping area & began to cry, while Jadzia, Abby Tabby, & BrieCORA snuggled next to her for comfort.

Jarrynn

Jarrynn sat at her desk and heard Holodoc in the sleeping quarters. She got up and walked out. She went to the Oclub and saw the "party" going on. She saw an ensing and asked him what was going on, they told her that it was Amy's novayarhen. Jarrynn turned and headed back to the medlab. Jarrynn grabbed Furrybdis and headed to Holodocs bunk.
"Hey, you ok?"
"No not really, what's up jarrynn?"
"What's wrong Holodoc?"
"Anubis, plus things just feel so empty around here."
"Yeah I know. I can't get Najinn from my head. Does it ever get any easier?"
"Not sure. What else is on your mind?"
"Well I was just wondering, does everyone get a novayarhen party here?"
"Not sure why do you ask?"
"Well they are having a party for Lt Amy in the oclub. When Kris and I had ours, we didn't get a party. And Mara didn't. I was just curious that was all. I mean we even missed Kellyns too!"
They both just sat there. Jarrynn's face lit up!
"I know!!! We can have our own party for everyone that didn't get a party!"
"I think that is a great idea!"
"Thanks I will get started on the invites. By the way someone stole our stash of honey marshmallow cream mixtures. Any ideas as to who?"
"Nope."
"Weird."

Walksallroads

The mission had left Anubis drained more mentally than physically. Not only did he have to go on a more dangerous mission than he'd ever been on before with those asteroids ready to pounce on the unweary and slow of reflex, but he had been Mission Leader for Black Squadron, and had a new ensign to deal with. The upshot of that is through his zeal to do a good job, he had listened to instructions carefully and complied without arguement. JustinB would make a good Warrior. As soon as the debriefing had finished Anubis went to his bunk to get some sleep. His dreams were mixed, as if unsure how to proceed. Part of it was his past. Parts of it deal with the present, and parts of it speculated on the future. When he woke up, he had decided to visit Holodoc. He didn't want to show himself to her as being dead on his feet. As soon as he walks into MedBay, he hears the voices of Jerrynn and Holodoc talking excitedly in the sleeping area. Something about a novayahren party. As Anubis never had one (his batch never got to even note their novayahren) he ignored what was being said. And waited.

Holodoc2000

Holodoc & Jarrynn were still chatting about their idea on having a novayahren party for those that hadn't had one since being on board the Callisto, when Holodoc hears someone enter MedLab & back towards the sleeping area. She stands up from where she had been laying on her bunk & walks towards the door & looks out & see's that it is Anubis. "Who is it, Holodoc?," Jarrynn asks. Holodoc turns back towards Jarrynn for a moment & replies, "it's Anubis." "I'll leave you two alone for awhile," Jarrynn begins, "& that way you can have some time with him since I know it has been awhile since you have been able to spend anytime with Anubis." Holodoc smiles & hugs Jarrynn & replies, "thanks Jarrynn. You are a true friend to me."

Both ladies walked out to where Anubis was patiently waiting. Jarrynn smiled back at Holodoc as she continued on over to her desk to do some work. Holodoc walked up to Anubis, reached out for his hand & slowly started walking back towards her sleeping area there in MedLab. Anubis followed Holodoc & wondered what might be going on now.

When they reach the sleeping area that Holodoc had come out of only moments ago, Holodoc faces Anubis. "Anubis," Holodoc says quietly, "I have missed you lately. Will you please hold me?"

JustinB

As he woke up from a good sleep, JustinB yawned and stretched. He did not how long he had been asleep. First thing to do was to have a quick Turbo-wash to freshen up. After he dried himself, he put on a clean uniform.

He decided to head to the bridge and see how the mission was going. As his head was still abit hazy after all those ambrosias, he decided to walk for abit to clear his head.

As he was heading down the corridor and around a corner, he bumped into a Lieutenant. "Sorry Sir, I didn't see you," JustinB said. "It's alright Ensign, I was in a rush to get to Lt Amy's novayarhen party," the Lieutenant said and kept going towards the party.

'I will have to pay my respects later' He thought. After walking down a few more corridoors, he saw something that made him rub his eyes and look twice. A door on his right slid open and out came a kitten. "What the Frack" he said in unbelief. He then picked up the kitten and looked at the door from where it came through. The kitten had come from the Med-Lab. He entered the Med-Lab and at a desk was the Med-Tech he had seen earlier running out of the O'Club.

"Hi there, One of your patients I presume?"he asked with a smile and the kitten in one hand, "I am Ensign JustinB and I just caught the kitten just outside the Med-Lab."

"Hi there, One of your patients I presume?"he asked with a smile and the kitten in one hand, "I am Ensign JustinB and I just caught the kitten just outside the Med-Lab."

Jarrynn glared at the kitten as it looked so pitifully at her.
"Furrybdis! Just how did you get out!" as if she really expected the kitten who is almost a full grown cat now to answer her. Turning her attention to Justin she tried to offer a smile.
"Thanks for bringing this adventurer home. JustinB is it? I am Jarrynn. Nice to meet you. I think you were administered by Holodoc I think. What squad are you with?"
"Black."
"Ah then you have seen me around then. ::Giggle:: I mean my twin you flew with her I think on the last mission." JustinB looked confused a bit then looked harder. He knew he had seen her before!
"Lt Kris is your twin!" She smiled. It was different not being accused of being Kris from the get go.
"Yes and since you are in the same squad as her I almost pity you." Jarrynn almost looked serious as she said that. Then she started to laugh. JustinB laughed with her. She wiped her eyes.
"Thanks I needed a good laugh. So JustinB what brings you to our hole in the ship?"

JustinB

"Well, I was on my way to the bridge, when I caught the adventurer," JustinB said,"and since I am here now if you are not too busy, this seems like a better place than the bridge. If you need a good laugh, why don't you take a break and I will see if I can make you laugh some more.

'I hope that wasn't laying it on too thick' he thought. "I don't know, I do have some work to complete,"said Jarrynn.

JustinB could sense that Jarrynn was a bit hesitant. Maybe it had something to do with her running out of the O'Club earlier. But he had to try and help her laugh at least once more.

"I understand, but I don't think Holodoc will mind you taking a few centons too relax. If Holodoc says something, I will let her know I was making you feel good the way she made me feel good while she conducted my flight physical. So what do you think?" JustinB asked.

Jarrynn

Jarrynn heard the request to join JustinB for a drink in the oclub. She looked towards Najinn, then back at JustinB.
"Well, I can't right now since Holodoc has company. I need to stay and make sure things are good to go here. Maybe I can get a rain check on that?" Seeing the disappointment in his eyes, Jarrynn put her hand on his arm. "Seriously JustinB, I would love to when I am not so busy." He looked around.
"Other than the patients that are already here, what else are you doing?"
"Well I have to make sure the patients here are in good condition, to be here just in case anything should happen. Plus, there is to be someone on duty at all times, since we never know what will happen. And plus Holodoc has company so that leaves me right now. I hope you understand." He smiled and nodded.
"Thanks, I guess I didn't realize."
"Its ok really! It happens alot. Plus I am trying to help Doc get a music show together, which reminds me, do you sing? Or have a talent?"
Just then both Stadia and Major Lucian came in. Lt Stadia looked like she was in pain and the Major looked like he had been thru hades. Jarrynn looked at Justin and shrugged with an apologetic look on her face. She got Lt Stadia settled in a exam room. Then she got Lucian in her eye exam room.
"Major if you will excuse me just one quick moment." He nodded. Jarrynn ran to Holodoc's room and nocked.
"Hey I need you. Lt Stadia is in the exam room 1 she is in some pain primarily in her back. I am with Major Lucian. Eye complaints. Sorry to do this to you but..." Holodoc sighed then got up and smiled.
"When it rains..."
"...it pours." Jarrynn giggled. Then she stopped where Justin was,
"i am so sorry. I hope you understand. You are welcome to stick around or stop by later and hopefully I will try to make that drink." She headed in to the Major, sitting down with her gear, she smiled at her patient.
"Ok Major, what exactly has been going on?"

JustinB

"I am so sorry. I hope you understand. You are welcome to stick around or stop by later and hopefully I will try to make that drink." Jarrynn said to Ensign JustinB. He smiled and said, "Not a problem, I will wait out here for a while and make sure Furrybdis doesn't go on another adventure."

Jarrynn then went to attend Major Lucian. As JustinB sat there, another cat appeared with two kittens appeared. They approached him with caution, but at seeing Furrybdis recieving a pat decided they wanted one too. He just hoped no one came by and saw him.

A door opened and out came Holodoc. A look of surprise came upon her face. Then as she approached JustinB she said with a grin, "Is there anything I can do for you Ensign JustinB?" "No thanks, I am just waiting for Jarrynn to finish and maybe go for a drink." Holodoc then said, "It looks like Furrybdis, Jadzia, Abby Tabby, & BrieCORA have taken a liking to you. Take care JustinB and by the way, I think it looks cute." She then went to attend Lt Stadia but could not help but to have a little giggle as she walked away.

"In all that's holy, I hope Jarrynn is not to long," he whispered as he waited for Jarrynn to finish.

Lucian

Jarrynn motioned for Lucian to sit down and tell her the problem. He'd spoken to her a few cycles before about coming in for an eye exam, but the "action" in the Pauvwell system had prevented that until now.

"Jarrynn, I'm a little overdue for an eye exam, and I think it may be causing me some problems," said Lucian, wincing and rubbing his forehead. "In the last two missions I've flown, I've come back with excruciating headaches. That may just be from the nature of those missions, but some cycles, I get the same thing happening here aboard the Callisto. You know, I grew up on the Odyssey Nine, and because of the size of our crew, we all had to have first aid training and be ready to step in to help Doc or our nurse. Since they didn't have time to do everything, I've always been a self-medicator as far as minor meds. Now, the aceto's not helping, and recently, I've noticed a problem with blurred vision. Just recently, it seems to be getting worse."

"Major, that could just be that you need to upgrade your corrective lenses," said Jarrynn reading his file. "I see that you still wear the lenses. Why haven't you had the corrective surgery? It's noted as an option in your file."

"We didn't have the surgery available on the O-9, and I really didn't find out that much about it until I had my checkup when I joined the Colonial Military. The doctor at that exam suggested it, but I never got back to him. I've had the lenses for so long...I guess I'm just a little scared about someone slicing into my eyes. If he or she makes just a little error, I'll be off flight duty and possibly out of the service."

"You know, if you don't do something, you'll be off flight duty just as soon." Checking the chart again, she exclaimed, "You're overdue, all right! Your induction eye exam was your last exam. How did you miss out on your last scheduled exam?"

Lucian looked a little sheepish and said, "I think that was a few sectars ago when I got walloped with that beam during the Gold Squadron annex work. I spent a couple of cycles in the Med Lab, and after I got out, I didn't want to come back in here for a while. Pretty soon, I forgot about it. Now, these headaches are getting worse, my vision's not as good, and I'm growing concerned about the safety of my squadron. When I have to assign someone else," he said, motioning toward Lieutenant Stadia some distance away with Nurse Holodoc, "to lead the squadron on a dangerous mission, it's one thing; however, if I start doing it because I'm worried about not being up to it due to my eyes, something's wrong. I want to get this corrected before it gets to that point."

IF, he thought, it hasn't already.

Commander Sheba watched the monitors intently. Each identified asteroid in the belt was being tracked and its course being projected. Keying the pad, Kharia plotted the Callisto's course. Within microns, it was obvious that the path was clear...until the last couple of centons of the journey. Little flares on the screen showed projected impacts. The Helmswoman looked at Sheba and shook her head, saying, "If we get hit like that, we'll take so much damage that we'll be sectars getting the ship repaired."

Lieutenant Titon nodded. "We'd be able to jump, probably, but I'm not sure if we'd be able to go anywhere after we arrive at Axcess."

Sheba pointed to a few streaks on the screen as Kharia replayed it again. "Those need to go. Send the data to Major Brie and the mission team. Have them take those asteroids out on the way back to the Callisto. We don't have time to wait. Kharia, take us in the gap in the asteroid "stream." We don't have any time left if their work is going to do us any good, so we're going for the jump point. Landing bays, make ready to receive our Vipers. They'll be rejoining us shortly as soon as the smooth up the edge of this little gap. Warriors, don't be late. We won't be able to stop and pick you up."

The Callisto suddenly accelerated toward the jump point as it entered the small clearing in the asteroid belt. There were numerous small impacts within the next few micron, but no serious damage was reported. The asteroids continued to be tracked and projected on the monitors. It was obvious that the Vipers were having trouble steering back into the gap due to the amount of debris flying in all directions. Commander Sheba looked concerned. With the Callisto already running the gauntlet, would the Vipers clear out the remaining big bad rocks in time?

Brie

Major Brie had noticed the way that the ateroids were acting. They didn't need to destroy all of them, just get them out of the way. Growing up she had learned how to play billiards, funny how the asteroids were reacting in a similar way. She formed a theory quickly in her mind and put it into practice. It worked! She passed the idea along to the rest of the team. Hopefully they would clear things out of the way and be back aboard the Callisto in no time.

BatGal

The remaining big bad rocks reminded Lt. BatGal of the stories that the older warriors from the Galactica still tell about the great Nova-of-Madagon-Cylon-Mine-Clearing-Mission, over twenty-three yahrens ago...and the song she used to sing on the Rising Star, inspired by the Beatles' "STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER"...

LucianG

It sounded to Major Lucian as if they were winning the battle with the asteroids. There were a number of excited "whoops and hollers" as the last few asteroids were cleared. He saw on the monitor in Beta Bay that the Callisto was entering the gap in the asteroid belt, and then heard the order for the Vipers to return taking out a few asteroids along the way.

Moments later, he saw the Viper symbols on the screen heading toward the Callisto even as the Battlestar moved toward the jump point. He glanced at the countdown on the screen. With the time ticking down quickly, it was going to be very close. They had to recover all of the Vipers prior to the jump, but it would be tough. He headed out to the landing bay to see if there was anything he could do to help. As he exited the room, he heard BatGal's soft lilt over one of the channels.

Another asteroid was blasted into smaller chunks, and the trailing Warrior blasted the pieces out of the way. "There are a couple over there, and two or three there" said Major Brie, feeding the coordinates to pairs of Warriors in position to take them out. "It looks like that should just about do it."

On the bridge, Commander Sheba heard Brie say, "It looks like that should just about do it."

She said, "Colonel Charybdis, recall the Vipers as soon as they have completed their assigned tasks. We're getting close to the jump point, so we must bring them aboard quickly."

On the monitor, the time to the jump point kept counting down. It was now down to four centons....

Stadia

Stadia stares out at her wing as they head back to the Callisto. They had performed above and beyond the call of duty.

She lined up her viper on the approach vector and brought her ship into the landing bay. As the ship settles onto the deck, she pulls her helmet off and leans her head back. Her quiet disturbed by a technician as he lifts the canopy on her viper.

"Are you ok, Lt. Stadia?"

"Yes, just tired." She says as she stares out at the deck. She grabs the side of her viper and begins to pull herself out. Stadia grimaces as she lifts herself up so she can swing her legs out of the viper. She would have to make a trip to med bay to get her back looked at.

Climbed down the ladder and heads for the door. She makes her way out of the landing bay.

Lucian

Most of the Black Squadron Warriors had landed. They disembarked from their Vipers and most gathered to give each other high fives and relive their "rubble" adventure in words and hand gestures.

Major Lucian was watching the last couple of Vipers entering the landing bay. That was it! They'd defied the odds yet again and come home safely. He was hoping that Gold Squadron was having equal luck. Of course, "luck" was possibly a bad choice of words. Maybe "exhibiting equal skill" would be a better term, he mused, but it was more wordy and still didn't convey the thought as well, since very skilled people without good "luck" often end up dead. No, he hoped they were having good "luck" as well.

He didn't see Lieutenant Stadia as she slipped out of the bay, so moments later, he was asking where she was. He knew he'd seen her ship land safely.

"Major, she looked like she may have been in some pain," said one of the Techs working nearby. "Stiff, anyway. She headed on out."

"Thanks, crewman," said Lucian. Turning to the tired Warriors, he said, "Great work folks! We should be entering the jump any micron now. We'll waive the after mission briefing if you'll all submit a written report by 03:00 tomorrow morning. Stop by the squadron office between 02:00 and 04:00 so I can ask any questions before we submit the final report. Agreed?"

"Yeah!" came the response from the eleven tired Warriors.

"Okay, then! Get cleaned up and get some rest. Reports by 03:00! Dismissed!"

Lucian checked his chrono. He decided to slip by the Med Lab to see Nurse Jarrynn. He'd talked to her about an eye exam almost a secton before....

At the same time, Major Brie was completing a very short briefing with the Gold Squadron Warriors. Within moments, the Callisto entered the jump toward the Axcian system.

Arriving back on the flight deck I realized that something was wrong with the way that Lt. Stadia had handled her fighter. As I came to rest in my bay assignment I anxiously awaited the tech to bring the ladder over so I could de-plane. AS I exited "Say tech have you seen Lt. Stadia around her fighter," she looked at me with concern "No Sir she landed and immediately dissapeared."

HMMMMMm, I walked over toward Maj Lucian and saw the crowd of other BS Members having high fives. I avoided them and nudged the Major in the side. "Sir have you seen Lt. Stadia she was having some minor trouble coming in," I reported. "No Ensign I havent she has vanished without checking in," replied the Major. "Sir I am worried that she didnt get a good impression of me and that she is hurt or something," kicking an imaginary pebble "I did as I was taught as far as weapons control Sir and that was from my Father."

Lucian looks at me with the look my Father always gave me when I felt low. "Ens you did a good job out there and dont let anyone tellyou otherwise," clearing his thoat" you came back alive as did the others that is the most important thing as well as that we can now jump safely."

"Yes, Sir" I saluted " and thanks for the booster Sir, I am goign to see if I can find the Lt." "I figure she and I need to get soem things Cleared up between us." Shifting on his feet "Yes some talking between you two would be a good choice. But I think you and Lt. BatGal need to get aquinted first." He directed me toward the Lt. who is his XO for the Squadron. "Lt BatGal this is Ens Phlandor I think you two need to talk since he missed repoting in to you earlier," with a big grin on his face " and please dont kill him right off ok." laughing as he returned to the rest of the Squadron

Stadia

Enters the barracks and tosses her helmet on her bunk. She grabs her shower stuff and heads to the shower. She lets the warm water wash over her body.

She stands under it letting the water run down her back. She grimaces as she twist to get her shampoo. She pours a dallop into her hands and begins to lather up her hair. She grimaces.

"Frack!"

She carefully rinses the soap out of her hair and climbs out of the shower. She towels off and heads to her bunk where she puts on a fresh uniform.

"Oww! With all that jarring around I am not surprised I screwed up something."

Finishes putting on her clothes and heads out the door once agian. She carefully walks down the hallway to med bay.

Charybdis

I was in my quarters during the jump and the time had passed in silenced as I rested on my bed.

I noticed the date/time piece on my wall as I watched it hit the new cycle. It was no ordinary change either. The new cycle also brought with it a new Colonial yahren. We still kept the time and date as we travelled through the stars.

I wonder if this new yahren will be the yahren when we find peace? Will we finally escape the evil clutches of the Cylons? And will we finally find earth?

Only time will tell...

Amy81

I was in Major Brie's quarters, doing largely nothing during the last stages of my stint as Squadron Leader. It actually was over with now, since Brie had landed before the jump. Thank the lords they had all returned safely. I figured I'd pretend I was still in charge until I saw her, but it didn't change the fact that I hadn't had to do much of anything during the time she was away. It was just as well anyway.

I looked out the viewport at the swirling colors of jump space. Would this be the jump that reunited us with the fleet? Pointed us toward Earth? Or would it be more of the same- scratching and clawing for supplies, allies, or again fighting for our lives against an enemy that wouldn't quit?

I turned from the window and sat back on a chair near Brie's desk. The clock there indicated that it was New Yahren, the start of brand new yahren. It really meant nothing to me. All just numbers. Something for historians to put down next to stuff that happened. Having never lived on the colonies, I couldn't begin to get a grasp on what made it all so special. In space, every day was just like the last.

I got back up, swinging a hand absently at the colonial flag as I returned to the window. "Happy frackin' New Yahren" I muttered as I leaned an elbow on the sill and watched the swirling colors.

"I am so sorry. I hope you understand. You are welcome to stick around or stop by later and hopefully I will try to make that drink." Jarrynn said to Ensign JustinB. He smiled and said, "Not a problem, I will wait out here for a while and make sure Furrybdis doesn't go on another adventure."

Jarrynn then went to attend Major Lucian. As JustinB sat there, another cat appeared with two kittens appeared. They approached him with caution, but at seeing Furrybdis recieving a pat decided they wanted one too. He just hoped no one came by and saw him.

A door opened and out came Holodoc. A look of surprise came upon her face. Then as she approached JustinB she said with a grin, "Is there anything I can do for you Ensign JustinB?" "No thanks, I am just waiting for Jarrynn to finish and maybe go for a drink." Holodoc then said, "It looks like Furrybdis, Jadzia, Abby Tabby, & BrieCORA have taken a liking to you. Take care JustinB and by the way, I think it looks cute." She then went to attend Lt Stadia but could not help but to have a little giggle as she walked away.

"In all that's holy, I hope Jarrynn is not to long," he whispered as he waited for Jarrynn to finish.

Stadia

Stadia tries to get comfortable. She lays down on the exam table but cant stay that way for long. She struggles to sit up, grimacing all the way up.

At that moment the door to the exam room opens and in walks Holodoc. "What seems to be the problem?" she asks.

Grabs her lower back as she tries to straighten up. "I think I pulled some muscles in my lower back. I went to get out of my viper and about fell on the ground." Stadia grimaces.

Holodoc moves over to stand behind Lt. Stadia and lifts her shirt. She places her hands on Stadia's lower back. She starts to manipulate the muscles. Stadia flinches at the shot of pain shooting up her back.

"I am going to have to get a scan of your back to see what is going on. I'll give you something for the pain." she says as she reaches for a syringe off the tray. She places the syringe next to the flesh of Stadia arm and injects the pain medication into her arm.

"Wait here."

As Holodoc leaves the room, Stadia lays down on the exam table. She feels the world spinnig.

Holodoc reluctantly got up from where she had been sitting & spending time with Anubis & went to check Lt Stadia over. She had hardly gotten any time with him at all & she gets called back to duty. Holodoc didn't mind the long hours at times, but she just wished she could have time to spend with Anubis some when it had been what seemed like forever in seeing him.

Holodoc walks into the exam area where Lt Stadia was patiently waiting for her. "Lt Stadia, I understand you are in some discomfort," Holodoc says. "Yes, I am. It's my back. It is a little more sore than normal," Stadia replies. Alright, lets see what we can find out is going on, Holodoc replies.

Holodoc went over to a small table there in the exam area that had some equipment on it & she got what she needed for the examination. Once she had walked back over to where Stadia was still sitting on the exam bed, Holodoc began her examination. Several centons pass by & Holodoc finally finishes her examination.

"Stadia," Holodoc begins, "there is some tenderness in portions of your back. I want you to take it easy for the next couple of cycles & I have some stretching exercises for you to help strenghten up your back some also."

Ensign JustinB sat waiting for Jarrynn to finish with Major Lucian, so he could take her for a drink. As his mind started wander, he heard a communication that there had been an altercation between several Frodarians. 'Well, looks like she will be tied up for abit longer' he thought to himself.

JustinB went to leave. He stopped and left a message to Jarynn, that he would catch up with her later when the Med-Lab quietened down.

He made his way back to the Black Squadron barracks. Once there he went to see if there were any new orders posted. Funny enough, there was one that concerned him. He was now promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. The pride of being promoted washed over him.

JustinB put together a suggestion that both Black and Gold Squadrons, hold a joint De-driefing of the Pauvwell mission. With that they can have a little celebration to bring the Squadrons closer together. Once done he sent it through the Chain of Command.

Not long after sending the suggestion, he recieved a 'thank you' from Commander Sheba herself. With that he sent Jarrynn a message saying that he would like to bring her to the Celebration. He signed it with his new rank.

Once sent, he went for a walk. He was hoping to run into Lt Amy or one of the Black Squadron members. Even if he didn't, he couldn't wait to the celebration.

Lt Mara went skipping thru the halls of the ship. She went looking for Captain Skyler. She had an idea for their getting sealed and wanted his opinion on it. She went running thru the ship and found out he was in the barracks. She asked one of the guys there to tell him Mara was outside for him. Skyler came out rubbing his eyes.
"Hey there flyboy!" He smiled as he took her in his arms and kissed her lightly.
"Hey there yourself red." She returned his smile. She always did enjoy his embrace. "Happy new yarhen!" she said then kissed him again.
"Yeah happy new yarhen."
"What's wrong Skyler?"
"Nothing just tired."
"How was the mission."
"Bumpy and long. So what brings you here?" she play punched him in the arm.
"You, silly! I came to see you. Can I not come to see my fiance? Speaking of which, I have something I want to run by you on us getting sealed. Are you up to it?"

"Well Ensign I think we should retire to my office what say you," querried Lt. BatGal. "Yes Maam that is of course the best place to have me check in,"coming to attetion. She turned and headed for the lift and the back of the bay.
We boarded and went up to the Squadron level of Barracks silence on the trip was deafening. Getting off "So Ens you come from Scorpia I understand." "Yes Maam I do." "No need to call me Maam we are a bit informal here," she stated as she winked at me.
"I apologize for that Ma---Lt., I have served for quite a long time in the Colonial Service it is second nature." "I understand Ens. when Warriors serve as long as you have it isnt uncommon to find that." Reaching her office she enters her Id card and we enter. "So exactly how long have you served Ens?" she asks as she points to the couch. "Well it goes something like this; I entered the Warrior academy at age 7 graduated to the Ground service as a Sgt at age 17 and I have served as a full Warrior for the past 16 yahren." Looking slightly awed "Wow that is quite a term of service Ens. what made you choose to take the flight course so late."

"Well I served for along time and knew there was a need for experianced Warriors as well as Pilots. So I volunteered for flight training which took the past yahren to complete." She shifted in her chair and looked at my service record, emitting a low soft whistle she turned back to me. "So your father was a well decorated Pilot and your Brother was aboard the Atlantia as a Pilot when she was lost, I am sorry for that" "No problem Maam, I mean Lt. he died doing his duty as I shall do mine." "Ok lets go over your Record in more detail shall we," she asked. After about 4 centars she dismissed me stating that we would continue later. I returned to the Barracks room and got ready to hit the fresher.

After a wonderously delightful time of sexual bliss with Rose, I come walking out of our private hideyhole VERY refreshed and a strange grin on my face that I can't seem to lose.
Time to look for Holodoc. I go to the medlab. I find her there.
"You're a hard person to find." I say to her. "I'm all over the place these days." Holodoc says with her back still to me. She turns around and sees it's me. She gives me an "Oh,it's you,I'm not very pleased with you" look. I notice it and say "Is something wrong,Holodoc?" "What do you want Officer?" she says coldly. "I've uh had a feeling that I've forgotten something. Something important. I was doing a scan of my locker for a chemical. My locker was loaded with it. I was told that if you are exposed to this chemical, your short term memory is affected. What I need from you is this, Can you bring up forgotten short term memory?"

Holodoc looks Hawke over while she thinks about how to answer his question. "Hawke," Holodoc says, "there is a chance that short term memory could be brought back, but it would depend on several different things." What might those things be, Hawke asks. "Well, for starters," Holodoc says, "it would depend on how long it has been since you were exposed to the chemical. Then it would also depend on how much of your short term memory has been affected by the chemical. I would have to do a few tests to be able to determine if we would be able to retrieve your short term memory."

Holodoc wondered if she should even mention what was on her mind at the moment. "Hawke," Holodoc says, "why do I get the feeling you will end up hurting Lt Rose in some way? Several different times she has asked me if I thought you were avoiding her when she was unable to find you."

"I don't remember when I was exposed. But I remember that SOMETHING happened about 5 sectars ago. I don't remember what,but I have the feeling something happened. And as far as Rose goes we already talked about why it seems like I was avoiding her."

Holodoc thought about what Hawke said before speaking again herself. "Hawke," Holodoc says, "I wonder if there is a way of retracing your steps from that time forward. I'm glad you have talked to Rose some, but if I find out that you doing wrong by her, you will have some tall talking to do to not only me but a few others. I don't want to see Rose get hurt by anyone, espicially by someone that is supposed to care about her."

Now I was beginning to get alittle testy with Holodoc. "I appreciate that you're looking out for Rose,but I need to know about my memory loss! PLEASE I need your help to try to remember what happened. The last thing I remember was getting dressed after a workout. Then I remember my waking up in bed. And before you ask me whas it a dream? No. It wasn't."

Holodoc thought about what Hawke said & thought of something that might work. "Hawke," Holodoc says, "I know that you want your memory back for the period of time that you don't know what happened to you. But we need to take this one step at a time & not rush right into something without considering all the options first. Do you remember anything that happened during the day leading up to when you were working out or who could of been in the workout room while you were there? Could someone of seen you from the time you left the workout area until you awakened in your bunk?" Holodoc waited for Hawke's response.
