“THAT was brilliant.” Boleman was almost smiling as he walked next to Brie to the bridge of the Callisto. “I’ll admit, I wasn’t happy about it when I realized what you were about to do, but it just worked out so well. You had them right where you wanted them. There wasn’t a person who was there who isn’t behind you 100 percent. Brilliant.”
“I wasn’t trying to get support,” Brie said. “That was my squadron, my friends, and I wanted them to hear what is going on from me.”
“Don’t ever forget, Major,” Boleman said seriously, “that a situation like this can turn friends into enemies, and enemies into allies.”
“You don’t know my friends,” Brie commented.
“We’ll know soon enough how well YOU know them.” They turned the corner and approached the Callisto’s bridge.
