The small alien craft made it's way towards the back of the fleet. The pilot was grateful for the cloaking device, not only was it valuable technology but it also allowed the ship to pass by unnoticed. Returning was going to be hard enough as it was, they didn’t need half the Colonial Military breathing down their throats.
The pilot sighed, dreading the interrogation that she knew was coming. Her two passengers slept quietly in the back. The pilot longed to be as blissfully unaware. It had been a long trip, but would be quite some time until she would be allowed to sleep. The questions, the reports, the medical tests…she was tempted to just turn around and head back out into space. “I hope they have plenty of coffee ready,” she mumbled to herself.
Seeing her destination on the screen in front of her, the pilot of the vessel turned off the cloaking device and turned on her communicator. “This is Major Brie, requesting permission to land on the Battlestar Callisto.” She turned off her mike and waited for a response.

The message came in to Geenie as she sat at her console waiting for Ens. Gearbox to respond. But the voice was not that of Ens. Gearbox! It was a woman's voice, strangely sounding like...and the name she used...
Geenie turned and caught my attention, "Colonel, there is a vessel approaching the Callisto requesting landing clearance."
I turned to her and nodded, "OK, well clear them if their ID checks out."
She stammered a bit, "but Colonel, um..the pilot has identified themselves as...Major Brie."
"What?" I rushed over to Geenies' flight console. "Run a full scan on that ship. Tell them to send proper identification codes. I'll notify Commander Sheba. If everything checks out, allow them to land on Beta bay."
Geenie keyed her mic, "Requesting vessel identification. Please transmit."
I hightailed it into the Callisto's war room where Sheba was looking over some intel. "Commander, something's up."
"What is it, Charybdis?" she asked.
"There's a small ship approaching the Calllisto requesting clearance to land. The pilot says she's Major Brie."
With that, Sheba jumped out and returned to the bridge with me in tow...

"Requesting vessel identification. Please transmit."
Brie sighed, even though she knew that it had been coming. "This ship won’t be in the fleet's records, but I'll send my personal information. Sending…now." Brie grinned. "Good to hear your voice, Geenie."
"Yours too, Major."
"Listen, if you need more proof that it's me, just ask Colonel Charybdis about the time, back when we were in the Academy, that Turner and I found him with a little too much grog in his system, trying to impress some girl who obviously wasn't interested. Turner and I had to literally drag him back to barracks so he wouldn't miss curfew."
"Um…it shouldn't come to that." Geenie paused, checking her readout "Your identification clears, Major, but it says here that there are three life forms in your ship. Please explain."
"I'd rather not, over an open channel," Brie said. "Just trust me when I say they're not hostile."
Brie heard some mumbling in the background, obviously Geenie had placed a hand over her mic. "You'll be clear to land in Beta Bay as soon as your escort is in position."
"Thank you." As she waited for a viper escort, Brie swung the craft around and prepared to land, wondering which squadron would be called in for security. She hoped it would be Bronze, she wasn't up to seeing either Skyler or JustinB.

"Geenie, who's out right now?" Sheba asked.
"Ensign Gearbox just launched, ma'am."
"Well. Let's get the new ensign some duties. Have Gearbox escort the Major back onboard. Colonel, make sure the landing bay is secure. Just in case..." she raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, Commander. I'll round up the rest of Gold squadron..."

Brie knew that assigning a viper escort was procedure, but thought that it was also unnecessary. After everything I’ve done for them, they’re still going to treat me like a criminal she thought to herself. There has to be a better way. She took a deep breath and thought about the events of the last few sectars. She didn’t remember the explosion at all, only waking up on a strange planet, surrounded by humanoid beings that weren’t quite human. The language barrier was one that they never overcame, and after a short time the beings stopped trying. They were nice enough, helped her as her wounds healed, stayed with her as..........it was a beautiful planet. She wasn’t really sure why she had decided to leave. She had never been a big fan of planet living, but this was one that she could have been happy on.
Still, she knew that she had to return. Time had been of the essence, if she waited too long the fleet would be out of reach. Working on the ship had given her a way to pass the time. Using a few salvaged pieces of her viper she was able update the communications system so that she would be able to contact the Callisto. The beings on the planet didn’t seem to mind that she was taking one of their ships, in fact, they watched her with great interest and even helped from time to time. She remembered looking up at the sky, wondering if anyone would come to look for her. It never happened.
Everything was so clear in her mind. She could see every micron after waking up on the planet as if it had just passed. Brie glanced at her scanner again, wondering what was taking that viper so long.

Geenie looked at Sheba who was standing beside her watching the displays.
"Do you want me to contact Major Skyler? His Viper has already landed on the Rising Star."
"No Geenie, he is on a mission at the moment and I need him focused on that. If he knew Brie was here he would drop the mission and burn out his Viper's thursters getting back. I will tell him when he returns."
"Understood Commander...."

The message came over the speakers in the pilot's quarters: "Gold Squadron security detail, to Beta Bay. Gold Squadron security detail report to Beta Bay immediately."
Some of the pilots who were on the security detail got dressed and quickly scrambled to the landing bay knowing something was up. A security detail for the pilots was not a usual happening...

"Um...Commander," Geenie started slowly, "looks like Ensign Gearbox isn't in position to escort Major Brie's ship in after all."
"Well, whoever is out there, have them do it," Sheba replied. "Brie's been gone long enough, time to bring her home."

Just as she was getting ready to ask what was taking so long, Brie saw another viper on her scanner. She adjusted a few wires on her communicator, she had done her best to repair the unit but it didn't work perfectly. Sure enough, there had been a short. "…the Battlestar Callisto."
"What was that?" Brie replied. "I didn't copy."
"Alien ship, this is Major Jorlan of Bronze Squadron. You will follow your current path until you land upon the Battlestar Callisto."
Brie let out a sighed of relief, at least it wasn't Skyler or JustinB. Still, she wasn't too sure about seeing Jorlan either. The two of them had a long, strange history. There was an odd quality in his voice, something was wrong. "You sound stressed, Major. Is everything okay?"
"You will follow your current path until you land upon the Battlestar Callisto," Jorlan repeated. "Any move off of your current trajectory will be taken as a hostile action and I'll be forced to fire."
"I don't doubt that you would," Brie said, a smile in her voice. "Preparing landing sequence, now." Brie took a brief glance at her sleeping passengers, and then looked back out into space, wondering why she had ever decided to come back. But she knew the answer to that. In a few centons, she'd be home.

The buzz started getting around. Major Brie, at least that's who the woman said she was, was supposedly coming back from the dead. Personnel were whispering among themselves around the bridge.
From the Beta Bay monitor, we could see that the pilot's and ground crew were getting ready to welcome our visitor...this was going to be interesting, as if things weren't already that...
