It is really not so hard....once you have figured out your background and where you want to start from...it is fairly easy to just start writing and see where your imagination will take you......that is what I did when I started (but to be honest I don't have that much of an imagination so I am a fairly boring writer...I apologize!)

Plwel, give yourself some credit man, you're a good writer! Nothing wrong with how you been adding to the story.

Don't believe Rick! He has plenty of imagination. And his ideas are really good. He's helped me come up with plot points and moving things along. Don't sell yourself short.
Honestly, and this isn't humility, I promise, I don't think I'm all that spectacular of a writer either, but I've played tabletop RPGs for years and you have to have a flair for the dramatic to get into any roleplaying game. If you don't have imagination, it doesn't matter how well you put words together.
You just have to jump in and DO IT. It comes together from there.

I was going to say something here earlier, but I read Rick's post and fell asleep halfway through... The best way to get started if you're having a hard time is to schedule a time every day. I work from home and am normally very unorganized, but if I schedule things I can get them done. Try scheduling half an hour into your day for the Callisto, and suddenly you'll find yourself posting. Everyone here is creative. Even thinking about a 31 year old TV show proves it. And the first RPG post is the hardest. They get easier after that.

I was going to say something here earlier, but I read Rick's post and fell asleep halfway through... There!!! And people think I am being untruthful and don't test my theories... THANK YOU PAULA for not making a liar out of me!!!!!! In all seriousness though...yes...I was joking around....But writing next to you all make it so very easy for me....you are ALL very talented and I am so happy that I found this site and met all of you. I am a better person now for it and for my association with each of you...thaks for all you do to help me "be my character"!!

This will probably sound kooky, but you have to let your character speak to you.
See, told you it sounded kooky! Honestly, sometimes I have a general idea of where I want things to go, but then I start writing and Logan completely takes over. I only wish I could be as assertive and confident as she is.
I usually write in the mornings too, when things are fresh and the coffee is flowing and the kids are off to school. And sometimes, I log on and see what others ahve done and everything gets changed and I roll with it and see what happens.
There is no wrong way to do this. Just have fun!

The key is having fun with the character. The easiest way to get a feel for the character is to base it on yourself. I call this Ego RPing lol. But if you make the character an extension of yourself, you can base all reactions and decisions on your own. Makes it easy And fun since the likeluhood of ever doing this for real is....well, not likely lol

I hate Brie 99% of the time, want to slap her in the head or something. If I thought that I was anything like her I'd, I don't know, shoot myself in the foot or something. But for most people, it's not a bad idea to use themself as a base. And Rick, I'm sleep deprived these days. I've fallen asleep talking on the phone. So on second thought, it wasn't your post.

I'm with Paula! Not that I want to slap Brie though. LOL I loosely based Logan on myself because hey, who didn't want to be a Colonial Warrior when the show came out? But Logan is my escape and not all that much like me. It's like playing a villain or some other character outside your comfort zone, you get to do and say things that are completely contrary to reality and who you are. THAT is fun. Honestly I worry more about what it says about the deep recesses of my psyche because I love writing for Comeek more than just about anything.
