"Commander, if you would excuse the interruption. Considering what we know of our past, might I suggest that we scramble all available Vipers. And have them in the air when the Battlestars come through. Just as a precaution sir." Ensign Edan said. Plwel then followed with.."Sir, as an escort detail, I am content to command the escort Viper Pilots. But if we are to fly an actual combat mission, then a senior squadron officer should assume command in the air."
Apollo inclined his head in acceptance of the suggestions, glad to see his pilots were taking this seriously. Directing his attention to Kroll, he said, " Commander, how many squadrons do you have under your command?"
Kroll darted a look at the two Viper pilots standing along the wall. The man detached himself from it and nodded smartly at Commander Apollo. "Captain Nero, sir! I command Green Squadron. We have a full compliment of Warriors at your disposal."
Apollo acknowledged the Captain as he stepped back in place beside the other Warrior, a female lieutenant. Looking back to Kroll, he asked, "And our pilot's ships?"
Kroll seemed sheepish momentarily, but met Apollo's eyes. "The two survivors are intact and have been repaired." He didn't mention the third or why the others had needed repair. Apollo chose to leave that alone for now. He couldn't say that he fully blamed the commander for his actions. This was a classified operation and suspicious ships coming out of nowhere...well, he couldn't say he wouldn't have acted in a simliar fashion.
Apollo gestured for Skyler to come forward. "Major Skyler, have your pilots ready to assist and once the battlestars are through coordinate with Major Jorlan to launch all Vipers."

* * * "I don't like it" he whispered to Janey as they walked down the hallway, the guards behind them. "They won't say who is springing us, and I'm thinking we'll never have better odds than right now."
Janey looked straight ahead, but nodded slowly.
"You up for it?" Dolet asked. "If you aren't, just get out of the way. I can take them."
Janey continued to look straight ahead, but her face began flushing with rising anger.
"On three?" Dolet whispered. When Janey looked over with a slight grin, Dolet began to count. "One...."
Janey suddenly spun around, striking the guard with the blaster before he knew what was happening. He crumpled, and as he went down Janey swung on the other guard, hitting him with an uppercut that lifted him briefly off the ground. His head struck the wall as he tried to regain his balance, and he fell to the floor senseless. Janey was back on the first guard, delivering a kick that finished him as well. She felt pain run through her leg at the contact, and dropped to the ground holding her knee. She looked up at Dolet, determined not to cry out.
He looked back at her with a blank look. "...Two...?" was all he said.
* * *
Janey grungingly accepted Dolet's help as they crept down the hall toward the commander's office. The pain in her knee was getting worse and she knew she'd only slow down any chance they had of escape. "Do you even have a plan?" she asked Dolet.
"We get a blaster on the commander, and get some fracking answers" Dolet replied. "We get a line to the colonies, and warn them...."
"For the last time, we are not in the fracking past" Janey said with a wince. She hadn't been completely sold on Dolet's theories, hadn't seen any proof, and didn't think it was even possible to travel in time. She knew they were in trouble, deadly trouble, and needed to warn the fleet of the danger these people represented. But the past? "If we're in the past, I'll...." She didn't know what to say she'd do.
"Spend the night with me?" Dolet suggested, as he reached a corner and peered around it.
Janey nearly burst out laughing. The thing about Dolet was, he was growing on her. As desperate as their situation was, he kept a sense of humor that she'd come to rely on. "A date, maybe" she replied.
"Rising Star? Wearing something low cut?" he whispered, his concentration focused on the hall ahead.
Janey smiled. "Only if it turns out we're not in the past, you walk out onto the flight deck in your boxers and scream 'I'm a fracking idiot' until fleet security shuts you up."
Still looking around the corner, Dolet reached back his free hand in order to shake on the deal. He felt her hand clasp his, her warm graceful fingers intwined with his.

Logan only knew one thing. She needed a Viper. She realized suddenly as Captain Nero was speaking that she didn't have one here. It was bugging her.
Commander Apollo spoke to Skyler, giving him orders to launch Vipers for covering the battlestars' entrance. As Skyler stepped back to stand behind their Commander, he caught her eye and winked. He had a plan. Of course he has a plan, she sighed wearily to herself. She wasn't sure what the base's status was as far as Vipers went, but she assumed it was the same as the Callisto and Galactica. There were always more ships than there were pilots.
She was able to relax a little after thinking it through. She ran a hand over her nose in thought. Where were Janey and Dolet? Shouldn't they be here by now? She could tell that the Commanders were getting to the point where the Viper pilots would be excused to ready for launch. She didn't want to leave until she'd seen them with her own eyes. She wasn't sure why that was so important to her, but it was.
Locking her hands together on the table in front of her to be keep from squirming with anticipation, she suddenly wondered if Major Skyler would be launching as well or if Apollo would be keeping him on the base.

At the commanders door, Dolet paused. "This time, we go on three?" The fact that they'd encountered no other guards left a nagging feeling in the back of his head, but he wasn't going to complain at their good fortune.
Janey leaned against the wall, her knee giving her enough trouble to make her unable to do anything but nod in agreement. She was still staring down when he suddenly leaned over and kissed her cheek. Her head snapped up and she looked at him in surprise.
"In case we never have that date" he explained. Before she could react, he shouted "Three!" and kicked open the door, dropping into a roll and coming up in a crouch. "Don't anybody..... move?" he said as his voice trailed off. Not ten feet away stood Commander Apollo.
Janey limped into the doorway, and stood in shock and puzzlement at the sight of not only the base commander and his staff, but Commander Apollo, Persephone, Skyler and Artus as well as other warriors she did not know. As Dolet slowly lowered his blaster and stood up, she whispered to him "I fracking knew we weren't in the past...."

As the blur that formed Lt. Dolet came crashing through the door, every Warrior in the room was on his or her feet, including Commander Apollo. The security guard behind the door had been knocked over as the door crashed into him heavily. The other two guards were on their knees, weapons trained on Dolet.
As Lt. Janey hobbled into the room and Dolet lowered his weapon, eyes glued on Apollo. Logan, Skyler and the other Warriors from the Callisto slowly lowered their own weapons, as Commander Kroll motioned for his own pilots to do likewise.
Logan felt her heart racing and realized that the tensions in the room were more pronounced than they had all realized. Before being told to, she had moved to the two erstwhile Warriors, running her gaze along them to check for damage. Janey's arm had been bandaged and looked like it may be broken. She was favoring a leg too. Frowning, she turned to Dolet and clapped him on the shoulder. "Nice entrance, Lt."
Dolet looked stunned and Janey, true to form, looked mildly annoyed. "Good to see you again, Lt. Janey. You might want to have a seat." Logan pulled a chair out for the girl. Dolet took the one beside her.
"Where are your guards?", the younger Kroll asked. Logan noticed Janey looking around the room, her gaze resting briefly on the older Commander and then his younger self. Her brow creased minutely as she answered him. "Oh, they're down a hall somewhere. They might need attention."
Kroll raised an eyebrow and motioned for the two guards at the door, who had just finished helping up their comrade, to see to it. Logan had to stifle the urge to giggle with a cough as she took her own seat.
Commander Apollo remained standing and looked over the two pilots critically. "Commander Kroll, I'm not sure I appreciate the treatment these two Warriors have received."
Kroll had the decency to look genuinely embarrassed. "We didn't know who they were. And once we realized, after..." he stumbled over the words and settled for throwing his hand in the general direction of Kroll and Kalten.
Apollo's mouth was set in a grim line. Lts. Dolet and Janey looked utterly confused, so Apollo wasted no time and told them what was happening.

Edan was glad to see the Base did have at least one Full Squadron. This would make any defense they needed a little stronger. At least till the Vipers from Galactica and Callisto arrived. Then, With the Improved Vipers and The Scarlet Vipers, the Cylons of this time won't stand a chance. But he was sure of one thing now, his time in a Scarlet Viper was probably done. Major Skyler or Captain Logan would be Taking the Ship Edan flew here out into Combat. IT made the most sense to him. It's almost like....
That's whent eh door to the Room suddenly burst open. Without thinking Edan had his Laser cleared from it's holster and trained on the door. He had to be one of the first to have the door covered. Since he had a sight on the intruders before the Guard in front of the door even hit the deck plating. He didn't fire only cause he saw a single warrior coming through the door. no assault on the room would be done by a single warrior. Shifting aim, He now pointed his laser on the 2 Warriors from Green squadron. Since it wasn't likely that anyone else would think to cover them. this one Warrior could be the distraction that these warriors needed to kill Commander Apollo.
But even that didn't make sense. Both of the Warriors had their lasers drawn, but were aiming at the door, not at The Unit from the Callisto. Edan relaxed his stance a bit and let the events play out. Still ready to enage whomever fired first.
That's When it became clear that the 2 Warriors from teh Callisto seemed to have made a jailbreak and burst into the exact room that everyone was discussing their release. Brilliant. "I could have shot any one of our hosts. That would have started everyone shooting. At that point, it wouldn't matter that my laser is set to stun." Edan thought to himself.
With the excitement fading away, Edan went back to thinking about the coming scramble.
"Sir, again, excuse the interuption. It seem Lt Janey is injured. We should get her back to one of the battlestars asap. If you approve, I'll check out her Viper and Major Skyler or Captain logan can assume my Scarlet. Perhaps Lt Dolet and maybe one of the Green Squadron pilots can take a Shuttle from the Station and run them back up. If you approve that is Sir."

Lowering her lasor that had instinctively rose and pointed at the unexpected entrance of two warriors, one that came bursting and rolling out of the commander's door, and the other limping, Persephone realized it was Dolet and Janey, the very two missing.
She had felt on guard since landing the shuttle on this base, even though she kept telling herself they were her people, like those who she had survived with all these yahrens. But still, a sense of caution pervaded in the back of her mind.
Putting her blaster back into her holster slowly, she noticed glancing out of the corner of her eye, Artus had been standing slightly in front of her, appearing quickly beside her just as the two warriors burst into the room. It was almost as if he had jumped to position himself there to protect her. He looked back around at her, and stared taking in a breathe, as he too placed his weapon back into his holster with deliberation. She held his gaze for a further few microns, their kiss flashing through her mind's eye again, before she turned to walk over to join Logan and Janey seated. Persephone had worked together with Janey from the prison transfer shuttle assignment/debacle, all those sectars ago, and was only too happy to see her alive back with them.
"Janey, I'm so glad you're alright.", she nodded at her as well as at Dolet seated next to her. "Thanks Persephone, good to see you all again too", she replied.
Then lowering her head toward Logan, she looked with seriousness at the captain. "Captain, I noticed that little wink the major gave you just a centon ago, and If I'm thinking what I think you're thinking, then I'm prepared to join you and anyone else here on a scramble in any available vipers that are here on this base, to meet our Battlestars, upon them entering the rift."
Persephone wasn't about to sit on this base without a viper, should any there be any surprise arial salute from cylons in the area, who knows what might occur. This was the most critical time, and all of them were on edge as it were. This wasn't any ordinary mission. This was reliving the past, but this time she could do something to prevent what took place the first time.
She felt a slight breeze of someone next to her and heard the voice of Artus whom she hadn't realized had followed her across the room. He overheard what she had just finished saying to the Logan.
Opal settled back down in her seat, after replacing her weapon back in it's holster, she watched how Artus was intent on something with Persephone. Looking around at the room they were in, she wondered where the exit to the launch bay was, and how many vipers there were sitting in it....she felt a nervousness come over her...as if she could feel cylons in the very air she was breathing.
She was dying for a good fight too, she had been on reconnaissance for too long, having to spend extra time out of real action so she could heal from her last combat in a viper. But she was all fired up now, and capable of handling anything. Opal immersed into her own world of thoughts. Maybe this time, she could repay Persephone for saving her life. Perhaps she might have to save her first from the clutches of Lieutenant Artus ...but then, if she was a good friend, she knew only too well to stay out of friend's love lives. Meddling might come off worse then tangling with a Cylon raider. She hoped Persephone could handle Artus' rogueries. But then again, Pers was a strong woman, and maybe, just maybe, she might tame the wayward womanizer....now that would be something!
Opal just hoped Artus had genuine interest in her, and not just in framing her face with a pillow. She let out a sigh, returning to the conversation going on at hand in the room.

Brie sat quietly on her shuttle as it took off. The twins were sleeping in their carriers on either side of her seat. She thought about everything that was going on, and how no one in charge seemed to realize the seriousness of what was being planned. Fools she thought to herself. All of them.
Taking a deep breath, she thought about the possible scenarios that could play out. Three came to mind. The first was almost unthinkable…Apollo's ridiculous idea worked, the colonies were saved, and the fleet was never formed. It that were the case, would anyone even know what had truly happened? She shook her head, she didn't want to think about that. The second possibility was that the mission would be unsuccessful and the battlestars would return to the fleet. Brie vowed to herself that if they returned she would make sure the entire fleet knew what Apollo had been planning, and how dealing with such an unknown could have lead to the non-existence of anyone born after the holocaust. He'd be forced out, she would make sure of it. The third, and most likely, outcome was the destruction of the battlestars, leaving the fleet unprotected. Brie had been left in charge, she would be in control. The search for Earth would be over, Brie wouldn't keep leading an unprotected fleet towards something that didn't exist. They would find a planet and the human race would survive. She sat reached over to Petra and stroked her face. Her children would be raised the way that humans were supposed to live.

"I'll only be too glad to join as well", Artus added to Persephone's remark to Logan.
She looked around at him, slightly jolted by his sudden presence beside her again. He smiled at her, his eyes penetrated her mind's thoughts, almost invading them with his own. Shaking his gaze, Persephone decided to just nod in acknowledgment at Artus instead.
"I knew the two of you would want to be in on meeting our Battlestars, Lieutenants", Logan responded. "Have yourself ready then for a scramble".
"Right , Captain", Persephone replied with a satisfied half -a- grin and nod.
"At a micron's notice, Captain", Artus articulated.
As Persephone began to walk back to her seat waiting for the meeting to conclude, Artus took a seat on the other side of her.
"So how's that daggit you have on leash there, Pers"....Opal whispered in Persephone's ear, leaning over.
The Lieutenant shot the sergeant a look of a lightening bolt, Opal simply widened her eyes, mocking surprise, as she slowly leaned back in her chair, grinning. "I was only wondering if you fed him today, that's all...", Opal continued to tease.
Pressing her lips tight, Persephone said in a scowling defined whisper back, "Will you SHUT-UP...".
"If you fed who today, Pers?", Artus interrupted as he leaned and peered around Persephone who was trying to face her back slightly to him, attempting to mask Opal's voice.
She could tell he had heard only too well what Opal had said, she turned to face him, and those provocative blue eyes of his...she wanted to wipe the smug look off his face. But with what? Especially since she seemed to just keep drawing him back to only vex her more. She cleared her throat. Artus waited, as he stared right down into her soul. "Nothing, Artus...Opal was speaking about .....about...", she choked suddenly, and her mouth went dry, she didn't know what to cover what Opal said with.
"About what, Pers?", he questioned, holding her eye contact.
"Nothing, never mind, lieutenant". She turned away from the smile that curled up on his lips. She knew he was just engaging her to simply rattle her even more in this close proximity. Artus was only too aware he affected Persephone in ways she wasn't used to.
Leaning back in her seat, she mumbled under breathe, "your sensor array pack is working just fine, Artus...just fine...".

Apollo stood and faced the assembled Warriors, but directed his remarks at Dolet and Janey. They took in what he said, with looks of incredulity on Janey's face and a sly smile on Dolet's as the latter turned and winked at her.
Janey blurted out, "What happened to Bulk Up?"
Several of the Warriors lowered their gazes, Logan included. Apollo sighed and turned to Skyler. "Major, coordinate the Vipers from the landing bay. Let's have a reception party for our ships. Commander, " he said to Kroll, "with your permission, I think your squadrons should join ours. They'll be relying on each other later on and should probably get used to each other while they can."
Kroll understood what he meant and nodded his assent. "Agreed. Captain Nero, you will join the Major and receive orders. Understood?" Kroll wasn't asking, but seemed intent on making sure that it was understood that Apollo and therefore his Major were now in charge.
Apollo waited for the Warriors to file out of the room before turning his attention back to Janey and Dolet.
