"Thanks", Persephone said to Logan softly, with a moment's feeling being reminded of Triton, and how he had hurt her by not trusting in her. But she had to cover her emotions for now. There was much going on that she needed to be ready to focus on. That was part of a warrior's obligation. Duty first, and everything else later.
Logan gave her a sense of comfort though, through her sympathy and the concern in her voice. She felt like a big sister to Persephone right at that centon, something she realized she has been missing for many yahrens. She thought of her sister Miranda for a micron. She had wondered a million times if Miranda ever did survive or was she killed in the destruction of their home colony?
*****************************************************************************************
"So where did you meet this, ah- Lieutenant Persephone"?, Starbuck studied Troy's face for a moment.
"I meet her here on the Callisto, and at the time she was with none other than my Uncle Triton".
Starbuck was taken aback slightly by those last words. "Your uncle Triton, you say? Well that must have looked nothing less than like looking into a mirror of your parents...to say the least".
The young Captain inhaled mildly, "Yeah..to say the least". There was just a split micron's silence. "You alright?", Starbuck asked softly with concern.
Troy nodded reassuringly, "I'm okay, just took me back to memories of my mother, that's all. I know Persephone is not her. But I don't know how my father would react to seeing her, that's why I have to tell him before he does see her". Starbuck nodded in agreement. "Well, listen kid, we still have a couple of spare centons before the briefing starts, why don't I go over and introduce myself to Logan's wingman and keep her out of the line of site, before your father walks in and sees her. It'll give you a chance to explain to him who she really is. We wouldn't want the Commander being stunned by her in front of all these squadrons".
"Thanks Colonel, I'd appreciate your understanding".
"Don't mention it". Starbuck nodded at Troy and began to make his way over to the two female warriors.
Troy watched the colonel approach Persephone and her wingman, whom he himself had not yet met. Starbuck straightened his shoulders and bowed his head as he gave her his best charming smile and made his introduction to the lieutenant.
Troy could just faintly hear Starbuck speaking. "Hi, I'm Colonel Starbuck, and you must be...."
The two woman looked up from what seemed to be a private conversation, and stood to attention. Logan jumped in and introduced her wingman to the Galactican Colonel.
Persephone smiled respectfully at the colonel. Troy sighed with relief seeing Persephone engaged in conversation with Starbuck, noticing Starbuck purposefully standing in front of her so as to mask her from any direct line of view from anyone entering the room. Troy now turned to watch for his father's arrival.

The doors slid open and the two commander's entered the conference room. Troy immediately approached Apollo. "Commander, may I speak with you for a moment?"
"Troy, could it wait until after the briefing?", Apollo said as he greeted his son with a business face.
Sheba stood beside Apollo, both of their eyes were on Troy.
"It's important that I speak with you now, father. It'll only take a few centons." Troy insisted.
Seeing how his son's eyes held a seriousness in them, he granted him the time. "Would you please give me a couple of centons extra, Sheba before we begin the meeting?".
Sheba smiled with an understanding, replying with, "Of course Apollo". "Thank you Sheba".
The Callisto Commander took her place at the front of the room and spoke with the officers there, while she waited on Apollo. Apollo turned to his son, "What is it Boxy?", he waited for his answer.
Troy took a deep breathe, as he looked down at the floor and then up again at his father. "There is someone here in this room that I need to tell you about. I had to tell you about this person before you see them."
Apollo studied Troy's face, waiting for his next words but seeing his son was somehow struggling to find the words, he urged him on to tell him. "I'm listening Troy, go on. We haven't much time right now, so I suggest you tell me whatever it is you want to tell me".
Troy nodded. " Her name is Lieutenant Persephone. Gold Squadron. She's over there talking with Starbuck right now."
Apollo scanned the area Troy indicated, but all he could see was Captain Logan and the back of Starbuck. He could just see the edge of another woman standing next to Logan, but was unable to see her face.
"What about her?"
Troy swallowed with a slightly dry throat. "She has a...she has a striking resemblance to ...", he choked on the last word.
"To who, Boxy?"
Troy inhaled with a shallow breathe and found the strength to finish his sentence. "To mom".
Apollo stared at his son, all grown up, his hair a little longer, his face matured more now, his eyes though were not of a child's anymore, but of a young confident man. He was a proud parent, his son now the strike leader of Blue Squadron. He saw how Troy still missed his mother, echoing in those words, " to mom". A flash of the memory of the tears that flowed down Boxy's cheeks that tragic day all those yahrens ago, and his pleading words, "I don't want her to go, I don't want her to go", came flooding back. Apollo simply spoke an understanding to his son with his eyes, as Troy received his father's thoughts, Apollo's mouth dropping upon hearing reference to a woman he missed just as much, and never missed a day when he didn't have a thought of her. The commander took a step out from behind Troy and looked over in the direction again where this woman was standing holding a conversation with Starbuck and Logan.
It was then, that Apollo saw her. He thought his heart had stopped, and his chest had caved in. It was as though all the squadrons and officers in that room had suddenly disappeared and all he saw was this woman. A woman who's golden brown honey hair poured down her back, eyes of the same shape that sparkled from the lighting, and a smile that was almost the same beautiful crooked smile, upon lips that could kiss away all the problems of all the twelve worlds. He felt as though time had stood still. He watched her smile and heard her delicate laugh faintly to something Starbuck probably said, as she turned to speak with Logan, her hair swayed with her movement. He could hear Serina's voice and something she once said to him in his head, "Besides, the guest of honor looks absolutely dee-licious!". He closed his eyes for a micron and thought he was back on the shuttle that day, taking them down to the surface of Carillon, and remembered how it felt when she would kiss him. He remembered the day they got sealed, how beautiful she looked.
"Dad? Are you okay? You haven't said anything for a couple of centons now?"
Apollo's daze was broken. "By Lords of Kobol...."
Troy saw a glassy look in his father's eyes as he continued to stare at Persephone. He put his hand on Apollo's arm, knowing the way he must be feeling at that moment. Troy understood only too well.
Apollo looked away and back at his son. "I'm fine, Boxy. Just wasn't expecting this, that's all." "I know how you feel. I felt the same way this morning when I met her for the first time, with my Uncle Triton."
Apollo glanced back at Troy. "Your uncle Triton? He knows her? Oh son,...that must have been quite a shock to you to see them together."
"It's okay, really. After I got past the initial feeling like I had had a blast from the past, you know with Triton sharing a pretty strong likeness to you and all, and then Lieutenant Persephone looking like my mother...."
"Say no more, Troy...I understand what you mean", Apollo now took a deep breathe getting his heart to start once again and swallow his heart, so it fell back into it's rightful place, freeing it from it's temporary jam in his throat. He placed his hands on his son's shoulders affectionately, "Thank you for telling me about this. It might have come as a far worse surprise if you hadn't given me foreknowledge about this Lieutenant Persephone. Imagine me forgetting what I was talking about in the middle of this briefing that's about to begin, if I had seen her and didn't know who she really is?".
Troy smiled sympathetically, "I just thought you ought to know, that's all." Apollo pated Troy on the shoulders, "I appreciate it, son. I'll be alright. She's not your mother, just someone who looks a lot like her. I heard once that we all have a double somewhere on the universe."
"Sure dad".
"I have to join Sheba now, so you better take your seat, as it looks like we are ready to begin the meeting".
They pated one another's shoulders once more, before Troy went to take his seat with those who were from his squadron onboard the Callisto, as Commander Apollo headed toward Sheba.
Just then Persephone looked up and saw a familiar figure standing in the entrance of the room, as other warriors filed past him. My Lords, he's back, she thought to herself.

As the Shuttle settled on the deck of Beta bay, A Warrior stood right next to the Hatch. An Ensign. The Warrior sneered a little. "15 Yahrens as a Security officer and I'm commissioned as an Ensign. Hate of the Blackshirts showing again." Edan was bitter, but he had never been an officer before. He just thought Experience would play into things when he was commissioned. What he was, a Veteran Infantry trained Security officer. Who avoided Warrior service because of family obligations. His Father had been a Ranking Council Security officer. And thought his son should be as well. But His son would have to EARN his Rank. so instead of being an officer, Edan had to Enlist and work his way up. But Edan showed him. He never applied for Officer Training, instead concentrated on Being the best NonCom he could be. But It had been learning to fly a shuttle that made him Sign up for Warrior training. He'd always liked the look of Vipers, and never felt at odds with the Warriors of the Fleet. But he had seen the tension between the two groups in the past. Where the Warriors would often pull jurisdiction from the Security officers for "fleet security reasons". As if we didn't know how to do our job. Ok, maybe he was a little at odds with Warriors in the past. But not enough to hold back from signing up.
Many in his Training class said it was hard to get used to now carrying a Laser pistol around everywhere. But Edan was conforted by the weight on his hip. It had beent here for 15 Yahrens after all. The battle suit was something different though. And the boots, well, he's adjust.
Edan looked around the Bay. He'd been stationed on the landing bays of the Galactica before. But never the Callisto. This was a first. He grabbed his gear bag and moved quickly to the lifts. It was time to report to Major Skyler. See what they needed him to do first.

My Lords, he's back, she thought to herself. It really is him?, she wondered, blocking out what Logan and the Colonel were talking about, she found herself distracted by a familiar figure standing at the door. She also noticed who must be Commander Apollo, recognizing the family resemblance to Triton, had now arrived. He seemed to have been talking with his son, Troy, but was now making his way up to the front of the conference room and joining Commander Sheba. Troy walked toward his squadron members that were onboard, and seated himself in the front row of seats.
She returned to her thoughts, gazing at the freshly clad uniformed gold squadron member. Why did she feel this way every time he came into the same room as her? It was more than confounding, it was disturbing! And yet, she couldn't help herself from being swept into what seemed to be a mesmerizing current of inexplicable responding senses to the frequency he emitted. She remembered at breakfast, the news that Misty and Helix told her .She recalled their conversation this very morning.
******************************* (EARLIER THAT MORNING IN THE MESS HALL....) "Pers! So glad to finally catch you. I just heard something from Helix, you're not going to believe it", came the voice of her bunkmate, Misty Star. Persephone gulped the last mouthful of her beverage as she turned to look up at Misty Star, who with slightly wide eyes was placing her meal tray down on the table beside her. Helix followed in suite as he greeted Persephone cheerily, laying down his own tray. His plate was piled high with toast, fried eggs, fresh from the gallidian that were now being successfully raised and bred on the livestock ship, as well as suswine flitch, several pieces of it. And of course a large mug of steaming kava.
"Helix, you're going to eat the Fleet out of every ship and freighter one day!" Persephone jibed at him, smiling.
"Hey...I'm a big boy, I gotta eat properly at the start of a new light cycle, or Misty will have to carry me around for the rest of the day", he chuckled.
"Oh I'm sure, Misty wouldn't mind that...", she added, as she nudged her friend in the side in jest. Misty just rolled her eyes with her crooked smile, as she took a mouthful from her cup. "After the way he eats, I'd need a turbolift to carry him".
The three friends laughed for a while, just making the best of their short time together before having to part and go their separate ways for the day's duties. As their banter died down, and Helix was digging into his breakfast, and Misty was spreading a fruit preserve on her toast, while thinking how to put the scoop to her best friend, Persephone proceeded to ask Misty what news she had heard.
"So, Misty, what did you hear, that I wouldn't believe, from our little Boray here with his nose in the trog?", she asked, giving one last jibe at Helix.
"Trog? You're no better when there's Shorsa on the menu, Miss Persephone...", Helix raised his eyebrows, letting out a few "tsch tsch", feigning disgust.
Misty Star rolled her eyes once again, laughing all the while, but interrupted the antics which seemed unstoppable this morning, though she knew Persephone just needed a bit of a release from the stresses of these last rigorous sectars, one such incident in particular nine sectars earlier, the prisoner transfer that nearly cost the Fleet both Starliners.
"E-hem, if I may intercept before you two have an all out War of the Hecklers at the table?"
Wiping away the tears of laughter from her eyes, Persephone faced Misty to listen to her news. "Go ahead Misty, tell me".
"Okay. You may not like what you're about to hear. And it was probably good that we lightened the mood before I said anything but", she paused, took a breathe and continued. "Helix heard from someone in our squadron, that Lieutenant Artus has been released from the brig today". She watched for her friend's reaction.
Persephone's happy smile turned to a serious countenance. Did she hear right? Artus was out? She wasn't sure how that was supposed to affect her, nor did she want her friends to think it affected her, but rather than seem disturbed by the information, she played it serenely, responding with, " Well, good for him. Maybe Artus will be a better man for it. I hope he'll return to his duties again, with renewed commitment".
Helix and Misty glanced at eachother, and then back at Persephone.
"Are you sure you're okay with this, Pers?" Helix asked, concerned knowing the short lived history she had with the wayward warrior.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be? Lieutenant Artus is of no real concern to me. We were wingmen for barley a centon. I really didn't know him that well. Besides, I have more than enough on my mind right now. I have a new assignment today, which I 'll be late for if I don't get moving. I'll see you two later. Maybe a drink in the officer's lounge this evening"? .She rose from the table.
"Sure, Pers.", replied Misty. "Be safe today", added Helix.
"Great. And thanks". She looked down at her chrono, and grabbed her jacket from the back of her chair. "Same to you both, and have fun on your viper checks today".
With that she made her way out the mess hall and waved a hand at her friends, as she departed.
To be honest, the news of Artus did affect her, more than she wanted to even admit to herself. Why, she didn't know. She felt a strange mix of feelings. The face of Artus flashed in her mind, as she walked down the corridor. It unsettled her. She had set out then to locate Triton, hoping it would take her mind off Artus.

She came back to the present moment. Artus now strode into the room, she watched him from her vantage point, she didn't think he had seen her yet. She observed the way he moved, the way he ran his hand through his dark blonde hair as he sat down. Persephone caught herself checking out his breeches, before he took a seat among the rest of Gold Squadron.
What in hades was she doing? She just broke up with Triton, and still feeling the effects of that. She would need some time to get past that alone. A memory of her first day on the Callisto, and when she first meet Lieutenant Artus now seemed to play through her mind.
************************************* (REMEMBERING PERSEPHONE'S FIRST DAY AS A CADET....)
As Persephone turned to head toward her quarters, a senior officer brushed so close to her shoulder as he was passing by in the corridor, they ended up bumping shoulders.
"I'm so sorry, Lieutenant Artus, I should have looked where I was walking, forgive me". She said apologetically to the Lieutenant.
He smiled politely, brushing down his hair, as though trying to smooth his ruffled appearance, which didn't seem to be working real well. And his 1700 centares shadow was near to being a full grown beard.
"Er..Lieutenant, if you don't mind me saying so, but you seem to have a little Caprican ketchup, on the corner of your mouth...just there", she nervously said as she tried to point to the spot of Caprican condiment on his face.
Artus wiped the ketchup off his mouth, thanking her for telling him, and all too quickly he asked her to dinner, to make up for bumping into her, with a hopeful glint, and certain flirtation in his eyes.
Persephone, smiled politely in return to the one Lt. Artus was giving her, though she felt an uneasiness from the liberal way he surveyed her figure. It was as clear as a Nubian Sun that he was thinking something beyond just the topic of an offer to dinner. She wasn't naive. Wanting to terminate the slightly awkward moment, and return to her quarters to freshen up before she met Triton at the Officer's Mess that day, Persephone put her hand up and fiddled with her uniform collar, as though to put a barrier in front of her chest, and bring the Lieutenant's gaze back to her face, instead of everywhere else on her anatomy. She cleared her throat subtly and added, with a pleasant tone " Really, Lieutenant I wouldn't wish to trouble you, just because we accidently over-shot our personal spaces in the corridor. It wasn't your fault...I guess we both had other things on our minds at the time of collision...". Persephone said with polite humour, as she gently shook her head, her long golden brown hair moving softly with her. Her emerald eyes careful, not to give out the wrong impression. Attempting to divert an uncomfortable couple of centons with a touch of jocosity, she hoped the remark would relieve her of standing any longer in the corridor talking with Artus.
He gave a chuckle, shifting his weight to his other foot, and gave a quick glance down at the floor and up again, still running his hand through his dishevelled hair, trying to connect his thoughts with her through his eyes. His smile broadened across his face revealing an attractive dimple in his right cheek. His soft laugh was like a fingerprint to Persephone, and for just a split micron, it revealed to her intune Pisconese perception, his experience as a warrior, and as a man. His seemed a character who could laugh at many a thing, as well as sport an ego as large as an orange giant star. He was obviously nursing some bruises to it.
But it was his roaming eye that was hard to escape notice, even though she was on one of the largest vessels in the fleet, she felt there was nowhere she could hide where he couldn't stare right through the walls and a uniform!
She felt sympathy for him though, thinking how difficult it must be for a man like him, to be reduced to simulator training all over again. As she looked at him for a further few microns, his rugged image was strangely attractive, but she felt nevertheless uncomfortable for thinking that. Her final thought of him was, that the Lieutenant probably had a good heart under his forward exterior. She believed every Colonial Warrior possessed an inner quality of noble courage and goodness. That's what she thought a Colonial Warrior stood for.
*********************************
Snapping back once more, she realized Logan was saying something to her. "Lieutenant, you better take a seat now, the briefing is about to begin.
"Oh..yes, of course, Captain.".
Persephone, now moved to find herself a free seat among her squadron. As she approached the seating area, she felt uneasy as she walked across Artus's view. Was he watching her, in the way he often looked at her? She felt stupidly self- conscious now.
A voice called to her. It was Sergeant Eridanus, and was calling her over as he had a spare seat for her. She looked up and caught Artus's gaze. Stopping for just a micron, she returned the gaze, but quickly pulled herself out his stare, and smiled at Eridanus and took her seat, settling down for the briefing.

Just as the lift Came to a stop in the Squad Bays, Ensign Edan almost ran into another officer.
"Sorry Sir, I was paying attention to the Squadron names on the wall. I'm, looking for Gold Squadron Billets. I've just been assigned there."
"You must be Ensign Edan. We've been expecting you. I'm Lt. Flell, Ships Training academy officer. You're on the first bunk on the left as you enter the billets there. But you don't have time to unpack. You are to report to the Callisto Briefing room. All of your Squadron has been called there. Major Skyler will be waiting for you. Just drop your gear And run." Lt. Flell Checked his Chrono and smiled. "You have 15 Centons before the briefing starts. It's a 10 Centon walk. Move it Ensign."
With that, Edan salauted and moved quickly to the obviouslyt empty bunk the Officer had indicated. Without even worrying about anythign, he dumped the bags on the bunk and moved quickly towards the internal Lifts.
Having served as a blackshirt on the Galactica, Edan knew things most Ensigns wouldn't about a battlestar. Like it WAS a 10 Centon trip to the Main Conference Room, If you took the internal, secondary lifts there. If you took the main lifts, it was closer to a 18 Centon trip. The Lt Wanted him to be a bit late. Hazing for the New Ensign.
When the Lift opened ont he Brioefing room floor, Sure enough, Edan could see Lt. Flell Waiting for Edan. But the Primary lifts were in the other direction, so Lt. Flell was facing away from him.
"Excuse me Sir, are you waiting for someone? Has the briefing begun?"
Obviously disappointed, Lt. Flell replied, "No Ensign, go on in. I'll be along shortly. And congrats. That little test usually works for me." The smile returned to his face. "You'll have to tell me how you knew about the internal lifts later. And be sure not to tell the Cadets about it."
"Will Do sir. And no worries. But if you'd excuse me." With that Edan entered the room with a bit more confidence then a newly commissioned Ensign should have. He stood his ground but not in a way challenging the authority in the room. Seeing how many senior officers were in the room and that thigns were about to begin, Edan decided to wait till after the briefing to officially check in with Major Skyler. After all, Edan still wasn't sure which officer he was. At the same time, he wasn't going to hide, if noticed, he'd be direct about his choice. And check in immediately.

Apollo took his seat at that head table, Sheba to his right, Charybdis to hers. On Apollo’s left sat President Tigh and beside him the three visitors, Young Kalten, Old Kalten and Kroll. Sheba was the first to speak; she rose and stood behind the podium. Looking around the room at all the assembled Warriors, most of them from the Callisto she cleared her throat and spoke….
“We are about to embark on a mission of monumental importance. I will fill everyone in on what we know and Commander Apollo will go over the Battle Plan. Bronze Squadron has three members missing in action, lost while on Patrol. They just vanished from the scanners. Upon investigating the loss, we found Lt. Kalten. What makes this all so strange is Lt. Kalten is from the past, stationed at a base known as Lotus Lab. Our three missing Warriors are at that base now, which at current should be several cycles before the start of the attack on the Colonies and the Destruction of our Fleets at Cimtar. The Lords of Kobol have handed us an opportunity to return and right history and a chance to save millions of lives in the process.”
Sheba stepped back away from the podium and Apollo stood……

Brie took a seat next to Lazant. It was strange to not be sitting with Gold Squadron, but she wasn't a part of it anymore. She knew that they still accepted her, she'd always be one of them, so she had to purposely make the break. Besides, next to Lazant she could clearly see Skyler, so she could purposely not look in his direction.
Commander Sheba stepped up to the podium and cleared her throat. The Lords of Kobol have handed us an opportunity to return and right history and a chance to save millions of lives in the process.”
Brie shook her head in disbelief. If the plan was successful, things would go back to the way they were before, the war would still be going on, the Cylons would still be trying to destroy the colonies. Maybe their plan with Baltar would fail, but who was to say that they wouldn't come up with an attack that was even more catastrophic? At least now, 220 ships filled with humans still survived. Who knew if they went back to the war the way it had been if ANYONE would survive? Cylons were programmed to destroy all human life. Keeping all the humans together in a system of planets would make the Cylons' goal that much more obtainable.
Another thought crossed Brie's mind. When the colonies were attacked, none of her three daughter had yet been born. Would they suddenly just cease to exist? She hadn't even heard the plan yet, but already thought that the whole thing was a BAD idea.

Edan, who had chosen not to sit at the table was among the few Wrriors standing on the other end from Apollo and Sheba. And when Both Apollo and Sheba mentioned Time travel and a chance to avoid the destruction of the colonies Edan's first reaction was "let's go get them" screaming in his head. As Sheba gave a little more information, Edan started thinking about what they might be trying to do.
Erase the last 30 Yahrens. Edan gave a good look to the young Lt up at the front and for the first time looked over the older man sitting near him. They had a strong family relation, but when you threw time travel into the situation, They could very well be the same person.
Going back to time theory in Educational periods, Edan went over the possibilities in light of this new info. It is possible for the same person to occupy the same space. He was seeing proof of that. So anyone who went on this mission, would still exist in the past. Edan could visit the 6 yahren old version of himself.
But what of those left behind? the Fleet. Would they still exist? could the Galactica and Callisto return here? and why would they? the Colonies would be safe. There would be 2 Galacitcas now, one Commanded by Adama and one By Apollo. And the Callisto. A Rescue could be made for the Pegasus as well. Long before the battle fo Gomoray.
Is even thinking any of this a good idea?

I had been in on some of the highest level of battle plans with Apollo and Sheba, but as she stood at the podium saying it out loud so all could hear, I just still could not believe it.
I looked over at the two Kaltens...it was impossible, yet there they were, the same person 30 yahrens apart in time occupying the same space at the same time! How could that be? Is that what would happen to all of us? If we go back will we each be able to go and meet a 30-yahren younger self? And if we do, then are we really ourselves? Are we the older version or are we the younger version? How could it all work?
Frack, the whole idea makes no sense, yet apparently here it was facing us just as real as everyone else in the room...
I had not voiced my true opinion to the commanders, but I did not like this plan. History only happens once and even if we do go back, what are two extra battlestars going to do against the array of forces thrown against us during the destruction? Even our own Colonial forces will not believe us and will probably throw them into more confusion causing the original Galactica to be destroyed and if it was destroyed then how do we now have the Galactica with us?? Arrrrgh, this was frustrating just to try to wrap your mind around.
I stayed silent and listened with the rest to see how this would play out...
