Brie felt slightly better as Charybdis spoke. Finally, someone speaking sense, instead of talking with their emotions. She thought back on the past few yahrens. Her friendship with Charybdis had grown complicated once he had started dating her daughter. Amy. Brie wondered if Charybdis realized that they were fighting for Amy's life, her very existence. For the existence of all who had been born in the fleet.

What the frack…. A chance to go back and save all that was… was what. Looking around the room he saw faces of Warriors that he had been serving with, that were born in space, these ships were their home, all they ever knew. Would they step up to the plate to die for something they couldn’t understand? Looking at Brie, would she be willing to lay down her life to save the Colonies at the risk of her three daughters. He knew that answer already. Dolet and Janey needed to come home, that was what he knew, looking back at Brie, he had already left one behind, and he wasn’t going to do that again. Pushing away from the table he stood….
“Commanders Apollo, Sheba, I would like permission to lead the Shuttle Mission to retrieve our lost Warriors, and to escort Kroll and Kalten and them back to here, where they will have a choice to make like everyone else.”

Lt. Plwel, after hearing his Squadron Commander's comments, also felt motivated to stand up tall and proud and announce......"Commanders....My name is Lt. Bouri-Plwel of Callisto's Gold Squadron..although I am not personally convinced the ramifiactions of these actions we are about to commit have been completely thought through, and I cannot say I completely agree with what we are about to do, I AM a Colonial Warrior and I stand with my fellow warriors and squadron mates to serve humanity, this fleet and the original colonies from which we were forced to flee. I volunteer in whatever capacity or duty is required of me." After finishing his statement Plwel looked around the room to all his colleagues and new friends finishing his gaze on Capt Logan where he simply gave her a slight grin and a respectful nod before he took his seat again.

Logan felt a flush rise up her neck at Lt. Bouri - Plwel's declaration. Oh great. Another one of these, she thought, controlling the impulse to roll her eyes. She also noted his eyes resting on her as he finished his gallant speech. And what is he smiling at? Shaking her her head and not being able to withhold a grin in return, she nodded back at the new lieutenant as she clapped her hands on the table and rose to stand at the table. Not being one to be quite as polite as her squadronmate, she faced Apollo and recklessly threw caution to the wind, knowing that Skyler would probably be rolling his own eyes at her after the briefing.
"Commander, I think this is the single most insane mission that has been presented to us for quite some time. You'll need a pilot for that shuttle and I'd like to be it."
She saw Starbuck wiping his hand over his mouth, whether to hide a smile or surprise she didn't stop to think.
"Dolet and Janey have to be retrieved, regardless of history. But I have to ask, after the Colonel's points, what happens to the Fleet in this altered timeline? Do they simply disappear?"

"Ensign Edan, Lt. Bouri-Plwel, Captain Logan, I thank you for your dedication to duty and accept your requests for volunteering," Apollo stated. Shifting his focus to Skyler, he added, " upon acceptance by Major Skyler who will be leading the shuttle team, of course." Skyler inclined his head in accepatance, which was good enough for Apollo.
"Captain, I appreciate your candor. And you're right, retrieving our people is paramount." Apollo was in the unique position of being a little more tolerant of outbursts under the circumstances. This wasn't your average call for volunteers. He wanted everyone to know exactly what was being asked of them. "Col. Charybdis does indeed raise a valid point. One that is most serious. I'm not a temporal mechanics expert, but from what I understand of what Kroll says the Lotus Lab specialized in, if we are successful, the Fleet will no longer be here. This is a one way mission, in every sense of the word. If we succeed in preventing the attack on the Colonies, there will be no ragtag fleet fleeing the Cylon tyranny. All our lives, and future generation's lives, will be changed."

Edan nodded when the Commander accepted him onto the Team. He noted that there was a little tension, not sure what kind of tension, but tension between them. He'd have to watch them a bit before deciding what it was he was seeing. With Major Skyler leading the group, Edan would only have to Report in once for both his Gold Squadron position and for the Shuttle mission.
"Sir, I'm a little rusty on my Temporal Studies, The fact that 2 different versions of The Lt are here, those of us going through the rift will still exist back then. Perhaps, I mean, I don't want to overstep my place here, but if the Fleet is positioned close to the rift, they can come back with us. This way no lives are permanently changed unless we take casulties. Every person born during or journey will cease to exist unless they are on the shuttle mission or one of the Battlestars." Edan saw everyone looking at him. "I mean, sir, if we secure space around this base, we can have the fleet travel back with us. Thent he Battlestars and Viper Squadrons can move to Engage the Cylons. The base's defenses can secure the fleet. After defeating the Cylons at Cimtar, and warning the Colonies, we can then incorporate everyone back home."
Edan could still feel all the eyes focused on him. But he was sure some of them might actually concider what he was saying as a possibility.

Standing up now herself , Persephone looked toward the new ensign speaking and cleared her throat. "Ensign Edan, if I may just a take a moment to speak?" Edan looked over at Persephone, almost feeling like as if he had been saved by the klaxon, he then nodded with slightly widened eyes and a subtle smile at the lieutenant and waited for her to speak.
"Commanders Apollo and Sheba, I'm Lieutenant Persephone, Gold Squadron, and I wish to volunteer for the shuttle team along with the others who have just voluteered. I have had experience with co-piloting a shuttle, and handling most adversities that one may come into contact with. I realise the seriousness of this mission,as it is like no other before since the destruction of our colonies, but if this means saving our worlds and people, then it is the duty of a colonial warrior, and an honor."
Artus listened to her words, with his arms crossed and resting his chin on his folded hand under it. Was she just brave or running away from something by voluteering for such a death mission? But that was kind of right up his own alley. His own impulses were gearing up to do the same.
Apollo's eyes fell upon Persephone as did Troy's, they both seemed to stare now, before Commander Apollo responded to her.

Apollo glanced at Major Skyler, who nodded, before responding to Lt. Persephone. "Accepted, Lt. and thank you."
Apollo waited to see if there were any more volunteers, but he had the feeling that Skyler was satisfied with the number for the intial stage of the mission. Enough to crew the shuttle and a Viper escort. Apollo didn't want to make this too complicated. That would come later on.
"Thank you to all who are willing to see this through. And as for the remainder of the Fleet. There isn't time or materials to outfit every ship with the temporal displacement technology. Kroll has run simulations and can't guarantee the outcome. This is like any other mission in that regard. If we are successful, the Fleet will be safe, back in the Colonies. And we have to believe that our destinies will be followed through regardless of our location. I'm not forgetting those who have been born out here in space, on these ships, who have never seen the sunrise on the planet of their birth. I have to believe that if we are successful, they will have that privilege."
He sighed deeply, knowing that the hardest part was before him. "Kroll and Kalten will proceed to the Alpha Bay and assist the techs with the modifications to the shuttle. I've already alerted Gher and he has his best men on it. The specifications have been transmitted to the galactica as well and the battlestars are being outfitted as well."
Turning to Skyler, Apollo said, "Major, take your team, get your gear, and get to the bay to oversee the final prep. I'll leave the specific duty assignements to you. I'll meet you there."
The volunteers rose to leave the room, but Skyler paused halfway out of his seat. "Commander?"
"Yes?"
"Begging your pardon, sir, but you mentioned that someone would be put in charge of the Fleet in the absence of both battlestars. May I ask who you have in mind?" Skyler had two reasons for his question. First, he knew he'd be more comfortable leaving the ships behind if he knew he could trust the person in charge. And secondly, he had a sneaking suspicion what the Commander was thinking and wanted to make sure he was out of the blast area when this bomb went off.
Apollo smiled. "Yes, I do, Major. I'm asking Major Brie to stay behind and guard the Fleet."
Skyler nodded and continued his ascent from his chair and followed Logan and the others out of the room, thinking to himself that meeting the Cylons and saving the Colonies would be a more preferable experience to whatever was getting ready to take place next in that room.

Logan had stopped just outside the conference room to wait for Skyler. "That should go well," she said.
Skyler shook his head. "It will be what she wants, I think."
Seeing that he didn't want to carry the line of thought any further for now, she let it drop. Edan, Plwel, and Persephone all stood expectantly nearby. Turning her attention to Persephone, Logan patted her on the shoulder good naturedly, "Well, Persephone, looks like you and I at the controls of another shuttle on another one way mission." Turning somber for a micron, she said, "Are you sure about this?"
"Absolutely, Captain." There was no hesitation in Persephone's voice. Logan was glad for that. It was easy to get caught up in the moment, especially when Apollo was the one doing the asking for volunteers. He was very persuasive. you just felt that what he was doing was right and had to be a part of it.
Skyler was speaking with Ensign Edan, who until now had not been able to check in with his new CO. Lt. Bouri-Plwel was looking thoughtfully at Logan, so she turned her attention to him. "Hello, Lt. We haven't met. I'm Captain Logan."

Comeek was already on his way to Alpha Bay before the meeting ended. He had seen several techs hurry past loaded down with equipment. He knew from his earlier experiences in the bay that Gher would be in charge. He had a reputation as a top-notch tech and would doubtles be put in charge of the modifications.
Comeek knew that Logan would waste little time getting to the bay as well. That was her usual routine. Comeek intended to not let her out of his sight.
