As he stood there, huinched over a bit, moaning, Edan finally realized that the bright light and noice were gone. He was stunned. what could have happened. There was a strange quiet surrounding him. Slowly He opened his eyes and looked around him. And found himself in Gold Squadrons Barracks. all around him were his fellow Warriors. Some he had distinct memories of watching die. Others, a feeling of acomplishment, since they had returned to the Callisto together. Battered and bruised.
But that was it, Edan no longer felt tired, he felt rested. He no longer had the aches and pains from combat. Extensive combat. Centons upon centons of sitting in a Viper, or repairing Vipers. He felt none of that now.
But he didn't care. He started shaking hands, slapping warriors and friends on the back. He noticed, in the corner New Warriors, Warrior who had been with.......Green Squadron. here, now. It HAD happened. Edan moved over and Saw Ensign guinevere. He smiled as he held his hand out to her. "Welcome to the Callisto. It's very good to see you here."
she smiled back, and shook his hands. Confident that she'd finally be treated as a warrior based on her skills, not held back due to her gender.
"Wait a centon, where's the fleet?" a Warrior over near the monitors had been trying to bring up an external view, one many were used to. But all they saw now was empty space.
that was until the lights turned read and the Klaxons went off.
"Everyone to the bays. It's an alert. And may the lords of Kobal protect us once more!" was all Edan heard as he grabbed his helmet and made sure his Laser was at his side.

The light flashed bright then faded, Skyler was alone in the room with the Beings of Light. All his pain was gone and he sat up on the edge of the bed, if you could call it that. One of the Beings approached him.
“Skyler, yours in not an easy task, for you the most has changed. You still have a greater role to play than most. You may not even realize it when the moment comes. You doubted Apollo, as did others, but their path was else where, yours was to stop Iblis. He altered the past to a point where you would not have been able to do it alone, so we stepped in. As we said, it is normally not our way, but Iblis left us no choice.” The being paused “do not doubt yourself, much will still rest in the choice you will make. Iblis did not change that, just the timing of when it will happen.”
“When what will happen, what has changed, what role do you expect me to play in all of this?”
“Answers we can not give you at this time, but it will all become clear to you in the future. You will understand.” Another Being entered the room, “Major, it is time you were returned to your Warriors, they will soon need you to lead them again.”
Skyler went to speak again, but found that he was in the Gold Squadron Briefing Room with the Klaxons going off.

The next thing Dolet and Janey both knew, they were standing in a hallway aboard the Callisto, alarms blaring and red lights lighting the corridor. Warriors rushed in both directions as they ran to meet up with their respective squadrons.
They just looked at each other, both feeling like there was something to say, but was there? Janey was Bronze, Dolet was from Black. They'd run into each other at the O-Club, but that was all. Right? But there was more, they both knew it, but how?
Both their mouths hung open slightly, dumb expressions betraying their confusion.
At the same time, they both said "Later", as if agreeing to figure things out at a better time. Dolet turned and ran to catch up with his Black Squadron mates.
Janey looked at him go for a second, then took a step gingerly, half expecting pain from an injured knee that she realized was not hurt at all. More confused, she turned completely around, and ran right into Bulk-Up....

Bulk-up grabbed Janey by the shoulders. "There you are" he said. "Where have you been?"
Janey flinched at the contact. She could do nothing more than stare at the Bronze warrior she knew for a fact had been killed. But had he? "W-wha..." she stammered, slack-jawed.
"Where have you been?" Bulk-up repeated. "After our flight was scrubbed..." He pointed to Dolet, who was just disappearing around a corner. "You hanging out with that runt? First he gets his a$$ lost, then finds it before we can scramble out to search. You and he? I hope not Ho-down. Think of the squadron! We don't have much of a rep as it is...."
Janey pried herself loose from his grip, then hugged him tightly around the neck.
"What's this for?" Bulk-up asked in surprise.
"I'm not sure" Janey replied as she let go of him. Nothing made sense. Nothing, except... "The alert! Come on, we're scrambling!" She stepped past him and began to run down the corridor.
"Just what I was doing" Bulk-up insisted as he turned to follow. "You're the one handing out hugs!"

Ensign Edan and Ensign Guinevere made it to the bay and into their fighters at almost the same time. As both settled into the seats and techs handed them their helmets, they exchanged a look and Edan shrugged his shoulders. He had no idea why she had come back through, but he couldn't say he was sorry.
But back to the business at hand. He switched on his engines, and activated the turbo gnerators. Since this was a battle alert, he also armed the lasers. Nothing like being ready. But as he was going through his preflight, ready for battle a stray thought came to him.
"There is nothing out there, why are we scrambling fighters?" How could he know nothing was out there? he asked himself, but this time, he answered aloud. "The Fleet isn't here."
"Bridge to all fighters, stand by for combat launches, but do not launch yet. You are all to stand by for furhter orders."
"They don't know where the fleet is either." Edan was still saying aloud. But how could he know? he hadn't been outside the Callisto since...... since when?

Logan shook her head to clear it but still heard bells.
Not bells. The alert to scramble to fighters.
Glancing around the barracks, she saw a few Warriors grabbing gear and heading for the door. She stood there and bit her lip. She felt a slap on the shoulder as Brik walked past adjusting his uniform jacket. "Come on, Captain. We're back."
We're back. We're back. Blinking a couple of times, she grimaced at him. He hadn't stopped walking so she grumbled after him, "Unflappable ovine."
She made to run to catch up with him but her way was blocked momentarily by another Warrior. Shorter than she was, female, a couple of yahrens younger. As she closed the distance between them, somehow drawn forward without thinking, the Warrior faced her.
Green eyes to match her own stared out from a furrowed brow, the Warrior's auburn hair cut short and curling around the ears.
"Kellie," she whispered, not even aware. The sound of the name reverberated through her skull. A warm flush ran up her back as she remembered. Childhood games, teasing, family. Then darkness and pain.
She opened her mouth to say something, but was stopped by two things. Other memories that were rushing in. Of rescue, her father dying again...of Kellie's grief and blame. What the frack?
And over all the memories Logan struggled to make sense of, the overriding sense of disbelief, the relief, the joy, the confusion, the second thing that rendered her motionless was the look on Kellie's face as she saw her sister. Pure hatred.
