That's it? Frack.
Logan sat in her chair, arms crossed, not knowing what to do. She had the impression she wasn't alone in that.
She turned to glance at Brik, who had been uncharacteristically silent for the duration of time he'd been seated beside her. He looked troubled. She didn't want to intrude, but couldn't stop herself. "Kellie's alive, " she whispered.
Her old friend looked at her and nodded. "So is Ally. And whole."
She couldn't do anything but grunt in acknowledgment as memories of the moon mission returned, only now with Ally saving their hides and not being injured.
Brik seemed to share her consternation as he patted her shoulder and stood up. "Oh and by the way, congratulations on your upcoming sealing. I'll be bringing the fumarellos to the bachelorette party." He smiled in genuine mirth as he saw her eyes go wide before he headed towards the door and exited the room. She could only imagine who he was going to talk to.
The Ready Room was packed with Warriors in various states of confusion. A few of them had already moved from their seats and clustered in groups in what, she could only assume, was an attempt to compare memories. She saw the back of Kellie's head and felt a stab of pain in her gut. My sister's alive. And she hates me. Great.
She wondered what those returned Warriors were thinking. It was bad enough that some of them had dual memories, but what about the ones who didn't? And now we have to rejoin the Fleet and see what happened with them while we were gone. Well, as long as Major Brie hasn't turned into a man, how bad can it be?
She was aware of someone staring before she even turned her head to look. Plwel. Oh boy.
As she saw him walking towards her, she gestured for him to meet her in the corridor outside the Ready Room. The room was crowded with Warriors talking and she had a feeling this discussion would be better served in private.
Before he even reached the door, a face was looming in her mind. Blonde hair falling over a forehead, gray eyes smiling with shared laughter. Hush.
Beings of Light, what have you done to me?

Before he even reached the door, a face was looming in her mind. Blonde hair falling over a forehead, gray eyes smiling with shared laughter. Hush.
Beings of Light, what have you done to me?
Lt. Plwel, after seeing Capt. Logan's gesture to move outside the room into the corridor stopped walking towards her and immediately made a direct line for the door. As he entered the corridor, he immediately started to pace back and forth not really knowing who was going to walk through that door…..the woman he thought had deep feelings for him, or just his superior officer. “What am I going to say to her….I have no idea what I am going to say!” Plwel thought to himself as he walked back and forth. At that moment, the door to the Ready Room slid open and Capt. Logan stepped into the corridor. She looked at Bouri with a sort of confused sorrow in her eyes and then stared directly at him….concentrating hard as though wanting to say something but the words just were not there. Bouri turned away from her and walked to the other side of the corridor where he leaned his had up against the wall to steady himself. Behind him, he finally heard Logan breathe in as if she was going to begin to speak when Plwel immediately said “Please don’t.” Plwel didn’t turn around yet to see her reaction, but he imagined she was probably surprised that he didn’t want her to speak. Logan just stood there as Plwel turned back towards her and continued speaking staring deep in her eyes….”What have you done Anya? After everything we have shared and all the experiences we have had together……how could you? You were the one that was so afraid of letting your guard down because you didn’t want to let anyone in for fear of getting hurt, and then what do you turn around and do? By the Lords of Kobol, I LOVE YOU ANYA !!!!! With everything I have in me, I love you. Does that mean nothing to you?” Bouri once again turned away and took a few steps forward and he didn’t want Logan to see his eyes starting to water as he continued…”Do you have any idea what it feels like to see the one you love kissing another person? And then I find out through side conversations before the briefing that you are to be SEALED to this warrior….what’s his name….Lt. Hush!!! Why Anya? What did I do to make you want to do this to me?…I mean….what was I…..some sort of “plaything” to get you by until Hush returned? And speaking of which, where has he been anyways….this man you’re so in love with and are supposed to be sealed to? Haven’t seen him around before, or is this a move on to something new “love at first sight scenario!!” Plwel was outwardly angry again at this point but did his best to keep his composure and not raise his voice too loud remembering in the end he is still in public addressing his superior officer, and their relationship was not “public” yet. Plwel concluded by saying as he faced her….”How could you Anya…..I don’t understand....all I wanted was to love you and have you love me in return for all time and eternity. Just tell me now…once and for all…do you or do you not love me and want to be with me?”
Logan had never actually come out and said it before and Plwel couldn’t believe now he asked her the question...in fact demanded and answer. He was now very afraid of what that answer might be as he awaited her response………

Ally looked over at Janey. "Two sets of what now?" she asked. "Do you have any idea of what she was talking about?"
Janey shook her head slightly, opened her mouth but no words came out. She always found lying difficult to stomach, and was horrible at it too. Suddenly Hush was there, grabbing her by the wrist.
"Pardon us, Ally?" he asked, then yanked Janey to her feet. "We have to talk." Ally watched as Hush pulled Janey out of earshot.
"Is that what's been going on?" Hush asked. "Cause I was going to ask you how Ally could be on her feet when we both know there was no way in hades she was ever going to walk again. And how Bulk-up could possibly be alive. Or how my...." He stopped abruptly.
"How your what?" Janey asked. Hush seemed very reluctant to go any further. "What is it?" Janey wondered. "What's so weird in your life?"
Hush sighed. "Okay.... Brace yourself for a rush of memory, cause that's how this seems to work." Janey nodded, and Hush sighed again. "Me and Logan" he announced.
Janey stood there, waiting for memories that never came. "Sorry" she said. "I'm blanking." Hush looked more confused than ever. Janey went on to add, "Well, it's not like you ever say much of anything to me. Or anyone for that matter. And I don't pry into what's none of my business."
Hush nodded in agreement. It was true, he didn't talk much. In fact since they got back he was talking more than the last few yarhens combined.
He was about to say something when Ally suddenly stepped into the conversation. "Hush and Janey" she said, "speaking in whispers. Surprise, surprise." She laughed at the puzzled look on their faces. "Oh don't give me that! You both greeted me today practically in shock. 'Ally, you're okay!' And it got me to thinking you both know what Sheba was talking about, don't you?"
Janey said nothing, and Hush certainly wasn't going to.
"So what is it?" Ally asked. "What happened to me that you find it so shocking that I'm standing here?"
"Ally, I..." Janey began.
Ally laughed again. "Oh don't lie. I can see it coming like a laser volley in deep space. Am I a friend suddenly returned to you? Cause all I have is one memory and it's of you and me...." Her face turned white. "It's our relationship, isn't it" she said flatly.
"Ally" Janey tried, "I promise you, I don't know what Sheba was talking about...."
"Lies, Janey? After all the truth we shared you're really going to stand there and tell lies? Oh, frack you" Ally said. "Frack the both of you." Tears filled her eyes as she turned away and left the room. Janey did not call after her.
"You see the hurt in her eyes?" Janey asked. "Lords, I feel horrible." She hadn't been sure she wanted what she'd found in this new timeline, but she was sure she never wanted to cause the pain that Ally was in now.
"I feel that way too" Hush said, thinking of what he had found with Logan in this new reality. But he realized it isn't real, and all he had wanted was to lay claim to it, to enjoy the results of something he did nothing to earn. Beings of Light, what have you done to me?
"HEY" a voice rang out in their direction, snapping them to attention. "I want a word with you two!" Bulk-up was striding their way in a hurry....

Logan remained silent while Plwel went on. She hated the hurt in his eyes, but didn't know what to do about it. And she was starting to get angry. Which was never a good thing. She said things she didn't mean when she was angry. Hush always said that she needed to bite her tongue instead of her lip before she...Frack. When did he say that?
And then it hit her. She opened and closed the fists that had inadvertently been balled at her sides and took a steadying breath. He doesn't remember. He doesn't have two sets of memories. This just got a lot tougher.
She didn't move as she kept some distance between the two of them. Emotions were running high and she needed to stay clear-headed. She knew if she got too close to him, the memories of her still fresh relationship with Plwel would only make things worse.
"You hard-headed fool. Didn't you hear what the Commander said? The mission through the rift? You remember that, don't you? The Beings of Light intervened to save us. For some reason they didn't do that for the Colonies, but they did it for us. And they have changed things. The past...isn't the same anymore. I mean, it is, but now there are TWO pasts. The one you remember and this other past that some of us also remember. I don't know why all of us aren't having dual memories."
Plwel looked confused and she didn't blame him. She had no idea what she was saying. "When we returned here, I remembered...I remembered that Lt. Hush and I had a relationship, Evidently other people remember it too. It started on a mission and...intensified. He was on the rift mission and remembers it too. This...alternate memory seems...so real. It is real...only so is the original memory. The one where Hush and I never got involved and you came into the picture." She could feel herself choking up and swallowed hard, her nails biting into her palms.
"Sheba said this was a gift, but I don't know that that is the right term. It seems like a curse. I remember you and I remember Hush and I remember Kellie being dead, but she's right there in that Ready Room and she hates me for some reason I don't even know about. Why do we have these memories? Are they real? Did the timelines of our past converge? Are these alternate memories the way things should have happened or just shadows? I don't know. But I can't explain it to you any better than that."

From what Lt. Baris was able to piece together there three distinct sets of people now on the Callisto. From the look on Captain Logan's face when he mentioned her sealing, she was in the group who had two sets of memories.
Baris himself was in the group who remembered a different past from those who had two sets. This seemed to be the majority of crew he had come across, which included all the people who he had been told were lost in the previous timeline.
And there were those who had their original past memories intact with no knowledge of the alternate timeline.
He wasn't sure who had the correct timeline, but he suspected it was him. Logically, it made sense to believe that if the Beings of Light had righted a grievous injustice by altering their pasts, this was the correct choice.
At least, that's what he kept telling himself to save his sanity. Walking alone through the corridors after examining more Warriors with questions he couldn't answer than he was comfortable with, he came across a tech who was peering around a bend in the corridor. Slicking his hair back with his hand, he halted and listened for a micron. He heard the dulcet tones of Captain Logan in full distress mode and decided he didn't blame the tech for eavesdropping as the Captain could put on quite the show when irritated.
But duty nudged him in the direction of decorum and protocol. He cleared his throat and crossed his arms. The tech jumped and glared over a shoulder at him. The man was muscular and tall, but hadn't seen a turbowash in a while. Baris sneered in disdain as the tech attempted to straighten his tunic. "Crewmen, I know the situation is rife with opportunities for curiousity, but it is unseemly to lurk in corridors listening in on private conversations. No matter how interesting they may be.
The tech seemed to think better of whatever his response would have been and nodded curtly. "Of course, Lt. Is it true what the Commander was saying? That some of us have different memories?"
Obviously not belonging to the dual memory set. "It would appear so." Baris waited for some reply, but none was forthcoming. The crewman was thinking hard and Baris felt uncomfortable at the nature of those thoughts if the tech's expression was any indication of where they lie. "Carry on with your duties. We're about to jump."
The tech didn't seem to hear Baris but moved off down the corridor anyway, nodding to himself.

Are these alternate memories the way things should have happened or just shadows? I don't know. But I can't explain it to you any better than that."
Lt. Plwel walked up close to Logan and immediately responded..."Of course I remember going through the rift. I remember launching from the Callisto with my Green Squadron wing...Lt. Elorian as you flew with Capt. Nero. I remember watching my wingman die and me blowing every possible Cylon Raider I could out of the sky before I was overtaken by something that i can't explain. I thought for a moment I even heard voices both familiar and new. Then I opened my eyes and found myself lying on my bunk in the Gold Squadron barracks before heading to the Ready Room......before I saw what I saw. I can't explain how I got back to the Callisto because I know I didn't land in the landing bay, and I don't know how I got to my bunk. As far as Iam concerned I should still be flying in space...perhaps a battle dream I was having during rest period that seemed so real.....but it WAS real!!! I was there...we ALL were!!"
Plwel then quickly calmed himself and then moved right next to Logan who had tilted her head down away from his. He raised her chin with his hand and said to her..."But you didn't answer my question...Captain.....do you love me or not? Do you want to be with me?" Lt. Plwel didn't care anymore at that point who knew what. He grabbed Logan by both arms to keep her close to him as he continued..."If your having a hard time deciphering the past from the present and what is real and unreal, perhaps this will clear things up for you." Bouri then leaned in and kissed Logan himself in the middle of the corridor hoping she would feel and fully remember the love that he has for her as their lips met once again..........

Janey took one look at the hard-charging Bulk-up and was instinctively on the move. "Do something, Hush. I have to find Ally..."
"Do what?" Hush asked, totally at a loss as he stared at Bulk-up with wide eyes.
"Thanks!" Janey said loudly over her shoulder, moving around the opposite end of the room. She was half-way to the door when the voice of Major Dorlan brought the room to silence. Everyone froze and turned toward the Bronze squadron leader.
"Okay people!" he shouted. "You heard the lady! Bronze assignments are as follows: group C pilots, you're up next. Proceed to launch bay, stand by as back-up flight two. Everybody else, we are back-up on this, you know the drill well enough! Move! We have a fleet to catch up to!"
Janey ran out the door before Bulk-up could move. She was in group A so she had time, but where could Ally have gone? Bronze barracks? Rejuvenation room? Then suddenly she knew. She ran faster toward the observation deck, the place she and Ally had confessed their love for each other. Or at least the place she remembered it happening.
She ran in, finding the deck deserted. "Ally!" she called out. "Ally! Please! I need to talk to you!" She peaked down the center row of seats, not making much out in the dim light. She moved on, heading toward the big windows where blast doors covered the view of the stars. "Ally! You in here?"
She felt the movement a fraction of a millicenton before something crashed down onto her head. Her vision blurred as she fell heavily to the deck. She struggled to lift herself up onto her elbows and get her head off the floor. Dimly she could make out boots directly in her field of vision.
"You stay right where you are" Ally ordered. "I don't know who or what you are, but you are not my Janey."
Janey twisted onto her side and brought a hand up to feel for a lump or blood on the top of her head. "Ally" she said weakly. "What the frack....?"
Ally huffed. "I might ask you the very same thing....."

Janey rubbed her head gently, and thought it felt moist where she'd been hit. "Lords Ally, that really hurt."
"You try to get up, I'll make sure you stay down" Ally promised. "Now who or what the frack are you?"
"Janey!" Janey insisted, then flinched, expecting Ally to hit her again. "It really is me" she said weakly. "Who else would know where you'd run off to?"
"Someone with two sets of memories" Ally replied. "Someone who maybe doesn't belong here."
"We'll never get anywhere with that kind of thinking" Janey said. She checked her hand and saw blood on it. "Jeez Ally! You broke the skin!" She struggled to get to her knees. "I think I need a medic."
"What's really going on?" Ally asked, allowing Janey to kneel but ready to strike if necessary. "The truth this time? Believe it or not it hurts me to hit you when you look so much like Janey."
"I am Janey." Janey sighed heavily. "Okay, the truth. It's just as Sheba said. Some of us came back with a second set of memories..."
"I know what Sheba said" Ally interrupted.
"Okay, okay" Janey said. "My other set of memories includes you being poisoned by a cylon toxin. You were paralyzed with no hope of a cure."
Ally thought this over for a moment. "Which would make you happy to see me walking around... Okaaaay. Were we together in this other... whatever you'd call it?"
Janey shook her head. "But it's not that I wasn't open to it. It just never happened. But we were good friends. The best."
"What happened to my Janey?" Ally asked. Tears began to form again. "Can I get her back?"
Janey shook her head again. "I'm the only one."
"Answer this then" Ally insisted. "Which of your sets of memories do you think are the real ones?"
And this was it. Janey knew she had one chance to embrace this new reality, and that was right now, acting on feelings she never thought would rise to the surface. She looked at Ally, taking in her dark hair, big dark eyes, and a face anyone would admit was beautiful beyond words.
Ally looked back, her anger beginning to melt away as she saw in Janey, this Janey, the same things she'd seen when they admitted their love for each other almost on this very spot. Ally leaned closer, lips searching, hoping to experience the same spark in spite of all thats happened.....

Logan pushed herself back away from Plwel and held him at arm's length. "I can't believe these words are leaving my mouth, but people really need to stop kissing me right now."
Her heart was racing as emotions tumbled through her. She remembered this. Of course she remembered this. But she remembered other things too. She had to separate passion and reason and knew she was having a hard time doing that with Plwel so close.
She heard footsteps around the bend in the corridor and extricated herself from Plwel just before a group of Warriors came rushing by. They were Gold and heading for the launch bay to prepare for jump protocols. Second team. Good. that gives me some time.
Plwel waited for the hallway to clear before he moved close to her again. She held up a forestalling hand. "Please. Don't. Just listen."
He paused, but didn't seem happy about it.
"I know this is hard for you. You only remember...us. And I can't answer your question now. Were things heading in that direction before all this happened? Yes. But it was...is, so new. Sorting through those feelings is hard enough under normal circumstances. But I can't deny that things are different now. These memories...they seem so real. I don't know what is real anymore."
She exhaled and ran her hand through her hair. She felt sick. She knew she was hurting Plwel by not going to him and denying her feelings for Hush, but how could she when they were there, so raw and part of her.
And then there was Kellie and Lords knew who else was back. As if being summoned, her sister turned the corner with a second female Warrior and stumbled to a halt. Kellie looked between Logan and Plwel before speaking, "I don't know exactly what Sheba means by all that, but just because you may remember things differently, I don't. I've pieced together enough from my friends to know that I wasn't here before..." The girl struggled for words and shook her head decisively. "But I am now. And I know what happened to me. And to our father. And you weren't there. You and Skyler deserted us. That's the reality I remember and nothing is going to change that." Tears were forming in her eyes as she nudged past Logan, who stood dumbfounded as she watched the sister she had grieved for for yahrens walking away from her. Kellie called over her shoulder as she strode away, her friend close on her heels. "And does your precious Hush know that you're lurking in corridors with another man?"
She could feel Plwel moving close to her again and she couldn't look at him. Everything in her was crying out for understanding and she wasn't sure he could give it, not without feeling the pull of this alternate reality. How could he not feel it?
The knot in her throat was getting larger and she knew she was close to breaking down. Her body was rigid as she finally looked at him. "Don't. All I know right now is that in this reality my sister is alive. I remember her dying. But she...she is here. How can the reality that brought her back to me be wrong? HOW?"
She had been backing away as she spoke and turning quickly she almost ran down the corridor in the opposite direction that Kellie had taken, leaving Plwel standing alone.

The Bronze briefing room had mostly emptied out, and only those not on duty remained. This included Hush and Bulk-up, deep in conversation.
"But I'm telling you" Hush was trying to explain for what seemed like the tenth time, "I remember you dying!"
"But I am telling you" Bulk-up insisted, "I am right here. Alive! How can you remember something that didn't happen?"
"Ugh!" Hush wanted to throw his hands up and walk away, but Janey needed Bulk-up occupied, so he was occupying him. "I can't explain that, for the umteenth time. I don't know!"
"Then it's felgercarb" Bulk-up concluded. "Whatever it is you think you remember, it's delusion, or some deep space psychosis or something. Cause I never launched, never went to the past, and never died!"
"Then we agree?" Hush offered, hoping that though they hadn't agreed at all, Bulk-up would be satisfied.
Bulk-up offered a hand, and Hush was more than happy to shake it and put an end to the discussion. As they shook, Hush noticed Janey and Ally enter the room. They both looked worse for wear, particularly Janey. Hush waved slightly, hoping Janey would understand that it was more or less safe to come over.
"You two all right?" Hush asked, looking at them intently. Janey nodded, and Hush told her, "You do not look all right."
"I'm fine Hush" Janey said. "Leave it alone."
"Leave what alone?" Bulk-up asked. "Cause I'm sorry I jumped on you two like I did."
"It's fine" Ally said. "What's life in Bronze without the daily Bulk-up outburst?"
"I shouldn't have done what I did" Bulk-up admitted. "I should have saved it for when there were less people around."
Ally just started at him and Janey laughed. She wasn't going to be baited by Bulk-up. Sure it was an apology, but only for where he chose to have it out, not for the actual having-it-out part. "If you see Dorlan" Janey said to change the subject, "tell him I hit my head on a bulk-head. I'm going to medlab."
"I'll walk you" Ally offered. "It's the least I can do." Janey turned and headed for the door. Ally said "Bye" to Hush and Bulk-up and followed her out.
"Are they done?" Bulk-up wondered. "Sure looks like it to me."
Hush stared after them until they were out of sight. "It must have been rough. For both of them." He thought of Janey and how bad she had felt, and the pain that Ally had been in, and wished there was something he could do for them besides watch them walk away.
In the corridor, Janey walked with a hand on her head where the bruise was turning into a good sized bump. Ally followed behind her, and said nothing when Janey turned down a slender service hallway. As soon as they were well out of sight, Janey turned around and smiled. Ally was right there, a huge smile of her own spreading across her face.
Their kiss left them both breathless......
