Ally had left the Bronze barracks first, and was waiting at the elevator when Janey finally caught up to her. She looked ready to cry when she saw Janey in the de-com suit.
"I can't believe Dorlan split us up as wingmen" Ally said, "I feel so bad that I can't be out there with you. Solium leak duty is horrible."
Janey nodded. "I feel worse" she said, "not being able to launch with you. To not have your back..."
Janey set her gear down next to Ally's, then pulled her close. After a few moments she pulled back enough for them to kiss. When they stopped, their breathing was the only noise.
Ally finally broke the silence."What did Bulk-up and Hush have to say?" she asked, referring to the two men that had entered the barracks just as she was leaving.
"Nothing good" Janey replied without elaboration.
"It won't be forever" Ally said. "Dorlan will come to his senses. We just have to give it time." Janey nodded in agreement.
"Well, I'd better get down there" Ally went on, "before C group tells Dorlan I haven't met up with them yet." She hit the elevator button and the door slid open.
"Be safe out there" Janey said.
Ally picked up her gear, stepped into the lift, and turned to face Janey. "You too."
The door slid shut, and Janey rested a hand gently on it, watching the numbers above count down to the flight deck. Then she hit the button again to bring the car back up. Her deck was one flight above.
The door was about to slide open again when she sensed a shadow behind her. She spun quickly to find Bulk-up standing there.
Janey gave him the look of death, but then noticed what he was wearing and laughed in spite of herself. "I see Dorlan finally caught up with you?" she asked. "Well, there is some justice left in the galaxy, though to me it feels like I'm being punished twice."
Bulk-up tugged at his de-com suit. "Very funny, Ho-down" he said. He hadn't seen his demotion to Solium leak duty coming at all.
"I hope the Major doesn't want us to bond or anything" Janey said. "Cause I'm still of the opinion that you can go frack yourself. Just cause I'm smiling doesn't mean I'm even close to forgiving you."
Bulk-up stepped around her and into the elevator, and Janey followed him in. "If you're going to chatter the whole time" Bulk-up said, "I'll pull my breather and stick my head in the first leak I find."
"Please" Janey replied. "Don't make promises you won't keep."

Plwel was still drifting forward at a substantial rate of speed now approaching over the Callisto. Bouri had still not heard any responses to his distress calls over the comm link which was odd because the comm system appeared to be one of the few systems still operating properly. "Why are they not answering?" Plwel said to himself very worried now because he was running out of options of what to do. As he rechecked his instruments he noticed his oxygen level had gone down even more and the pressurization/gravity within the cockpit was slowly beginning to collapse as the Colonial Warrior could start to feel pressures of space against his body as he slightly rose from his seat. The pressure suit under his uniform was still keeping it within tolerable limits, but Plwel was unsure how long it would last until the pressure would crush his body.
Plwel tried the comm channel again both on the primary, emergency and personal comm channels..."To anyone who can hear this message, this is priority Alpha emergency message..." Plwel went on to repeat in sequence everything that had happened with his fighter to include his current status by ending with..."At this moment I am down to 8 centons of oxygen left and cockpit pressurization is down to 62%. I need immediate assistance. Please respond!" Again there was no reply as Plwel waited for a response from anyone.
As the Lieutenant continued to struggle with the stick to keep the vessel somewhat steady, an idea came to his head. "What if I...." Plwel began to think of himself. He immediately armed his lasers and started to fire his cannons into space as he passed over the main hull of the Callisto hoping that would get someone's attention. Time was running out....

Logan was confused. On the one hand, there were only a couple of people she'd let talk to her this way and Dolet was most assuredly not one of them. And on the other hand, she felt sorry for him because it was obvious he didn't know anything that the rest of them didn't. She was becoming aware of a trickle of memories seeping to the surface...of Dolet laughing at a joke she had made while Hush shook his head, another with his expression intent as he stared over a hand of Pyramid, memories that were gushing forth now from out of nowhere...What is this?
"You figure it out, cause I don't want to. I want to make it go away. And you too, with your big eyes and perfect smile. You ever feel like that might be a cosmic joke too? Having people chasing you all the time?"
She did a doubletake at his words and scrunched her forehead in confusion.
Dolet sighed, and took a breath. "Forget it. Look, let's just pretend we didn't run into each other. Okay, Captain?"
"Hmmm...you know what Dolet. I think that's a good idea. But, let me leave you with this. Whatever you're going through, I am sorry for. None of us asked for this. But you're wrong. While we are all having to deal with personal issues, this is a Fleet problem. And the sooner we figure out how to come to terms with what has happened, the sooner we can do our jobs. If at any point, you have some insight on what is happening, find me."
She had kept her tone even as she had let her frustration get the better of her. Dolet's response was way over the line she was comfortable with, but she didn't have the energy to chastize him over it. "Frack, Dolet. We're all trying to work this out. You aren't alone. Remember that."
She nodded to him and tried to gauge his thoughts by the look in his eyes, but found she couldn't. As she started to move past him, there was movement in the corridor beyond them as she saw Hush turn the corner, heading in their direction. He seemed to skip a step as if unsure whether to place his foot on the deck to continue...which is exactly what she had done. For some reason all she could think was how ridiculous that might look to someone watching them both.
She exhaled long and hard at seeing him and forced her focus back on Dolet. "Are we done here, Lt.?"

"Yeah Captain" Dolet replied, "We're done."
You did it, Dolet, he thought. Got her off your back. Fooled her. Just walk away and be done with it. She's nothing but trouble....
But he couldn't do it. He wasn't sure what it was. Her softening tone? Her invitation to find her if there was anything? In spite of himself he liked the sound of that. But trouble was right. She was trouble. And in trouble. But it wasn't his problem. Don't do it, Dolet! Don't say anything. You don't owe her anything! Walk away! Walk away! Walkawaywalkawaywalk...
"There is something" he said. I can't believe I'm doing this! I could have gotten away clean.... Frack!
"But please, this is just between us, okay?" he continued. He looked into those big pools called eyes, got lost and almost didn't find his way back out again.
He sighed deeply. "Watch your back. I don't know what to watch for, but if I didn't say anything... I don't need that piled onto my overburdened conscience." He wanted to say that if he stayed with her eventually he'd maybe pick up on what the trouble might be, but how would he propose that? It'd sound like the worst pick-up line ever.
He glanced around, and noticed Hush. But he was out of earshot.
He laughed. "Turns out people are sort of right about me."
"This... whatever it is, dual memory felgercarb" he continued. Shutupshutupshutup! "It's affecting me differently I think." Quit while you're behind! "I've never had this happen before now, so it's got to be cause of the rift, or something. It's funny, but I think people are half right about me. I know stuff I shouldn't. Or I think I do anyway. Like knowing where the fleet is? I think we all got that as a freebie." He paused a moment. "I think I'm getting more."
He got suddenly alarmed. "I can't read minds! It's not that. And I'm not a freak. Lords, tell me I'm not a freak! I just have to tell somebody before I just space myself or something. I'm trusting you to keep this down low, Logan...." He didn't notice he used her name.
"And watch your back, that's all...."

"And watch your back, that's all...."
Logan saw Hush pause midway down the corridor and though she was sure he couldn't here them, the agitation in Dolet's body language spoke volumes.
"Dolet...it's ok. I don't think you're a freak. I never would think that. " Lords, I don't know what's going on here, but it seems that Dolet got the largest dose of whatever was effecting them all. His words had caused her alarm all of her own. Watch my back? And did he just call me Logan and not Captain? That's a first...I think
Attempting to look more relaxed than she felt, she squared her shoulders and took a breath. She saw Hush move a bit closer and had an instinctive feeling that he knew she wasn't as calm as she'd like to present to the outside world. How would he know that? Oh... More memories assailed her. Of Hush teasing her on how she hid her discomfort, him holding her and stroking her hair. Why is this all crashing down on me now? She knew her face was flushed and shook her head to clear it.
Dolet was staring at her.
"Look, Lt. I need to talk to you about this further, but right now you...you have patrol....and I have...I have...something. I'll talk to you later." She pushed past him, and he had to catch himself as her shoulder grazed him, pushing him into the bulkhead. She muttered something like "Thanks for the warning" as she made her way towards where Hush was waiting.
She didn't look at Hush's face. She couldn't. So she paused and said, low enough for Dolet not to hear if he was still standing where she left him, "Lt. Don't say anything right now, just follow me to my quarters. We need to talk."
She only hoped he hadn't heard the confused quaver in her tone.

As she pushed her viper up and around the Galactica's bulk, Ens Guinevere thought back to the briefing give right before she launched. The Briefing that was broadcast into the squadron Rooms was also piped down into the Viper's comm systems. So everyone still on alert got it as well.
People in the Fleet seemed to be coming up with 2 sets of memories. Obviously having to do with being in the past. But it seemed guinevere might be unique here in the ...Fleet. She had no memories what so ever of it. This wasn't her time, wasn't where she belonged. By all accounts, right here and now, she should be somewhere in her 60's. And where had the last 30 somethign yahrens gone?
The only memories of the Halocaust were of fighting, with Green Squadron, along withthe Warriors of the Callisto. There was no original memory for her. Just the single one. She was 27 Yahrens old, been a warrior for 7. All that time, she had been passed from one ground assignment to another. No real chance for advancement, nor of seeing combat against the Cylons. A position on a Battlestar was a dream. Now, in the middle of this nightmare, it was what she had. Assigned to one of the last 2 Battlestars in existance. But at the cost of the deaths of all her family, all her friends. She knew no one here very well. Tghe closest thing she had to a friend was Ens Edan. And she barely knew him. Why would she trust him so much then? she had since he had first landed on that damned base.
And that brought up another problem, one she'd been kinda dealing with since the patrol launched. Since Edan wasn't assigned to this patrol, she had no wingman. she'd flown close fleet support by herself, talking scanner readings and transmitting them back to the Callisto. Not that the Fleet was here, but the Space needed to be scanned. The Question was, did anyone on the Callisto know who Green.... Actualy Gold 64 was? Was there a service record for her? Did Major Skyler even remember her from the planning before the battle? Or Captain Logan, whom she had more contact with. She knew Edan remembered her, and seemed happy when he saw her.
In the current formation, the Galactica was ahead and to the left of the Callisto. Commander..... Apollo Kept the older battlestar in the lead. Guinevere was now coming up and over the Galactica, waving her Viper in a salute to the Command as she passed the bridge and heading back towards the Callisto. time to bring the Viper "home". Nothing more the patrol could do till they found the Fleet. And strangely enough, Guinevere, like alot of other warriors did seem to know where to find the Fleet. A fleet she'd never seen.
But that's when she saw something she shouldn't have. Laser fire. Her scanner told her there was a severely damaged Viper there. Readouts showed pressure loss, and vapor breach. Engines were the most seriously damaged. It couldn't manuver, or change course. "Only one thing to do."
Opening Unicom, "Damaged Viper, this is Gold 64. I'm coming up on you and I'll try a high speed tow cable attachment. Once it's attached, I'm going to make for the closest Battlestar." She checked the relative positions and where she could get fastest. And opened a channel. "Galactica flight control, this is Gold 64. I have a dfamaged Viper in view and I'm about to attempt a high speed tow and bring him in towards your Aplha bay. Prepare for emergency landing."
"Galactica Control to Gold 64, you have priority emergency landing approach to Alpha Bay. My the Lors of Kobol be with you and the other pilot."
Back on Unicom, "Viper, I'm matching your speed and course now. throttling up a bit to pass slowly. Just as her Viper moved over the top of Plwel's Viper, Guinevere readied the Tow cable launcher. AS she passed him, the launcher fired. And impacted about halfway between the Cockpit and the nose of the Viper.
When Guinevere felt the tension on the cable, she angled back towards the Galatica. It wasn't easy, and the Control stick fought her the entire way, but she was able to line up on the Galactica's Alpha bay.
"Galactica, we are starting our approach. I have the damaged Viper lined up. I'm not releasing till the last minute. He's going to come in at speed it seems."
"Copy. you are cleared."
Just as they reached about the same line as the rear of the battlestar, Guinevere released the tow cable, and applied reverse thrust to slow herself. Plwel's Viper cruised past her, below her ship. Just before having to wave off, She lowered her nose and got in line herself to land behind Plwel.
Both Vipers entered the Galactica's bay.

We had seen the events unfolding before us on the bridge, as we tried to contact Lt. Plwel, he didn't respond.
"Geenie, make sure to run a thorough check of our communications systems," I told her.
"Yes, sir!"
"Why the frack we didn't launch the automatic recovery drone? We've used those things before! What the frack is happening to this crew?" I wondered...
Here was one of our best warriors having to make a full speed landing when the drone could have gently brought him back in...
"All ground personnel to the landing bay. Emergency personnel be ready...we have a hot one coming in!"
We just hoped that Plwel would hold it together...

Dolet leaned against the bulkhead and watched Logan walk away. She passed Lt. Hush and after a moment he fell in line behind her. Dolet could have given in to the thoughts that crowded his mind but he didn't want to let any more of the outside thoughts in.
So he stood there trying to size it up. It could be as she said, but then he'd noticed how suddenly she couldn't get away from him fast enough. You did it again, Dolet. Suckered in by another pretty face....
He rested a hand on his blaster. Things were different now cause she knew the truth. Well, he wasn't a freak, and he wasn't going to let anyone take him in and lock him up like a lunatic. I'll be ready Logan. My guard is up now. You won't get that close again....
He watched as Logan and Hush disappeared around a corner. Before he was out of sight Hush glanced back his way.
All cause I wanted to warn her... now that's a cosmic joke!
He turned to go the other way, and walked right into somebody he didn't know.
"Lt. Dolet, isn't it?" the man said excitedly. "I've been looking all over for you...."
Dolet pushed him up against the wall, hand still on his blaster. "Leave me alone. Got it?" He backed away, eyes never leaving the man until he was a safe distance away. Then he turned and nearly ran down the corridor...

Ally reached the flight deck, spotted group C and made her way over to them.
"Well" said Captain Copewell, leader of the group, "we have our fourth. Glad you could make it, Lt. Ally." His voice was heavy with sarcasm.
Ally just nodded, and dropped her pack at her feet. They weren't anywhere near vipers, just standing more or less in the middle of the deck. She made eye contact with the only pilot she knew in the group, a Lt. known as Grease.
"Lt. Ally" the captain said in an exaggerated effort to regain her attention, "you'll fly wing for Lt. Grease. I believe you've flown together in the past?"
Ally nodded. "Yes sir. We had several tours ba---"
"You throwing your gear away, Lt?" he interrupted her.
Ally shook her head. "No sir, I---"
"Pick it up please." the captain ordered casually.
Ally said nothing, but stooped low enough to grab the handle and lift her pack off the deck. She stood there holding it, even though the other three pilots had set theirs on the deck.
"Lt. Ally, this is group C, not group A" the captain explained. He looked out over the flight deck, pretending to focus on some detail across the way. After a moment of silence that seemed to stretch too long, he spoke again. "Lt. Ally, at ease." He looked over at her. "Take a load off."
Ally looked at him, trying to figure him out. She looked at the other pilots, and even Grease offered no hints in his expression. She finally said "Yes sir" in a puzzled tone, and with slight pause set her gear back down.
"Very good" the captain said. "I'm sure I've made my point. Keep this in mind and we'll have no problems."
Ally stared straight ahead. I miss group A, she thought. She wondered how Janey was doing....

....If anyone had been waiting for the elevator as it reached the shuttle deck, they'd have been able to hear Bulk-up and Janey arguing the whole time the car was moving.
"....I still don't see what the big deal is" Bulk-up was saying loudly as the door slid open. "You've done Solium leak duty before."
"And I was off it!" Janey exclaimed, getting past the door before it had fully opened.
"You've never minded it this much before!" Bulk-up went on. "We all wear it like a badge of honor!" He shrugged. "Or we used to. What's so different about it now?"
"I was happy where I was!" Janey answered, nearly screaming at him as she walked down the hall toward the shuttles.
"How could you be?" Bulk-up asked, still confused. "You and Ally broke up. I'd be relieved if I were in your shoes to....." He suddenly stopped in his tracks. "Wait a micron. You and Ally didn't break up, did you?"
"DING!" Janey said loudly as she spun around to look at him. "Give the dunce in the de-com suit a prize!" She spun back around and walked the rest of the way down the hall, not looking to see if Bulk-up was keeping pace or not.
She reached the end to find the rest of the solium leak crew waiting by a open shuttle, all eyes on her and Bulk-up as he emerged behind her. They'd obviously heard most everything since the elevator door had opened.
"Our 'hot' pilots have arrived" one of the crew announced, clearing his throat as he made the pun.
"Janey?" another asked, trying to be polite. "You again? Dorlan said to expect two pilots, but I thought you had your fill of this duty."
Janey kept walking, right up onto the shuttle, not saying a word. There was a loud noise as she threw her gear down hard. Bulk-up walked a little slower, not in any hurry at all. "This just got a whole lot funner" he said, mostly to himself....
