My friends and squad-mates, Gold Squadron has lost a member in real-life.
He stopped posting a long time ago (longer than the "active" members as of the last RP posts) but was one of us nonetheless.
Mr. Johnny Ikner (called Lt. Ike on the active list for Gold Squadron) passed away earlier today, suddenly. He had been away to take care of family-in-need and had only recently reconnected with some of us that he new personally. We were supposed to have lunch next week.
Lt. Ike...Godspeed. You are cleared for launch.

Thanks for letting us know. I'll be praying for his family and friends. In my interactions with Lt. Ike I always found him to have a huge heart. You're right, we'll miss him.

No problem Brie, I figured that the word should be brought here. Also, just an FYI, many of his friends here in NC will be gathering in the state capital of Raleigh on the 2nd of December.

I found out about Johnny over on the CG forums since he was also a member of the 501st. I was able to actually meet him in person once and troop with him. (Brie and Skyler, you remember the IQM event in Raleigh back in 2003?) He was the only other At pilot in the garrison besides me and we made a great pair in the cockpit of the walker!!!
He was a truly nice guy and my prayers go out for him and his entire family.

I will most certainly pass both replied on to his widow, whom I will see on Sunday (there will be a gathering of friends in memorium).
I have to smile at your memory Charybdis, I saw a photo from that very event just a day or two ago.

I am very sorry to hear this. My condolences and heart goes out to his family...
I remember Ike on the boards but can't remember if I was active at the same time. He may have been before me? It's hard to keep my memories straight, I was a dumb kid when I first started playing. So much as happened, so much life lived...
Bless you Lt. Ike....

Brik, I've must have missed this note a number of times. I remember Ike from the boards, but never knew his real name. My very belated condolences to his family and friends.
