Skyler arrived at the launch bay in just a few centons, it felt like centars. The scanners had to be wrong…. “Major, your bird is in the tube and ready to go…. What happened?” a tall man in dirty overalls asked to the Major as he jumped the last five feet or so to the deck, leaving the lift he felt was moving to slow. “Brie’s Viper has been reported as destroyed, explosion, gone!” “What, Cylons?” “No other ships reported in the area, it just exploded.” Skyler took the steps three at a time and dropped into the cockpit of his viper. “No fracking way that bird just exploded. We just checked it from stem to stern; everything was 110%, no defects, no system errors, better than new…” “I know Chief; I will let you know something as soon as I know… just get the rest of the Squadron prepped for launch.” Skyler took his helm from the Gold Squadron Crew Chief and the cockpit servo’s closed and sealed the canopy and he donned his helm and activated the life support and H.U.D.D’s screens. “Major Skyler to Flight Control, request permission to launch…. GOLD LEADER is in position.” “Flight Control to Major Skyler, stand by for navigation information, once received, you may launch when ready…..”

Word spread quickly through the small pockets of followers throughout the fleet. The message was simple. "The Widow is dead. Soon the whole fleet will know. This is our reward from our Master. But he alone also has the power to bring her back to life...if he so chooses. If that is his will it would be no longer as an enemy, but as an ally. Remain faithful, and keep quiet. Let the fleet forget about us. Our time will come. Patience."

Several stops were planned along the way. It was important for them to follow their normal schedule. They loaded her into a delivery cart and passed her off at one of their normal stops. Those who had been chosen for the next step took over, never once looking inside the closed cart because they had been instructed not to. As the shuttle took off the pilot looked at his sister. "We're two of the few to know the whole truth," he said proudly.
"Not the whole truth," his sister reminded him. "We don't know what the final plan is."
"No one knows that but our Master."

Lieutenant Noddy took her time running through the schematics. She knew what she was looking for, but didn't want it to look like she knew what she was looking for. "Commander Apollo," she called after she felt like she had waited long enough, "I think I've found something." Apollo hurried to her side. "There's something here," she said, pointing to the readout in front of her. "It looks like there was a leak in the fuel line."
Commander Apollo nodded without saying a word.
Noddy tried not to grin. Of course there was a leak in the fuel line, she thought to herself. That’s where the first explosive was planted. Inside the line, of course, so it would be missed by the techs. They made things so easy.

Note: I've started a new topic for those still on the Prison Barge, since this thread is supposed to be taking place several hours later.
**
Brie opened her eyes, but there wasn't anything to see. She had never before experienced such complete and total darkness, not even a speck of light. She strained her ears, there were no sounds. There was nothing. She sat up from the table or bed or whatever it was that she was lying on. She touched her leg, she was no longer wearing her uniform, it felt like she had on a medical gown. She was barefoot. There was something else. She reached down, felt around her right ankle. There was something around it, something that as she felt it showed that there was no obvious way to take it off. Brie had no idea what was going on. She thought for a micron, it had to be a dream. "Turner?" she said out loud.
Laughter filled the room. "Yes, I can see why you might think that you were with your traitorous husband. But let me assure you, Brie, you are not in hell."
Brie grasped the edge of the bed with her fingers. She recognized the voice. "That's not possible. You're dead."
"So are you." There was a bright flash as a monitor came on. Brie shielded her eyes, then took the opportunity to look around once they had adjusted. The room was small. She was on a bed that was coming out of the wall, there was a turboflush and a sink but nothing else. It reminded her very much of her cell from the brig, only it was even smaller. She couldn't help but turn her attention to the monitor as Zerra's face filled the screen.
Search efforts are underway for Major Brie, former CO of Gold Squadron on the Battlestar Callisto, although anonymous sources tell me that it’s become more of a recovery mission than possible rescue. Commander Apollo is reportedly ready to change her status from "missing" to "presumed dead". Major Brie's viper exploded on her way to the Galactica. A faulty fuel line is being blamed...
The monitor was switched off, leaving Brie in blackness once again. "You might want to cover your eyes for a micron, I'm going to be turning up the lights and coming in. Just don't consider trying anything, because if you do..." A sharp pain tore through Brie's ankle and up her leg. She now knew EXACTLY what the device was for. The lights slowly came on and Brie stared straight at the door across the small room. She was surprised at who walked through.

"What's the matter, Brie, were you expecting someone else?" The man let out a small laugh, obviously enjoying himself already.
"Yes," Brie replied, confused. "Your voice is just like someone's that I used to know."
The man sat down on the bed next to her, but not too close. "It's amazing what a good plastic surgeon can do."
"So you are Pierce."
"Of course." Pierce grinned. "You can't kill a god."
"But how?" Brie was more confused than anything, and slightly surprised that she wasn't scared. If Pierce had wanted her dead she would be, something else was going on.
"I was picked up from the Agro Ship," Pierce explained. "Same people that brought you here. A little bit of surgery, the unfortunate death of a janitor and suddenly I'm 'Holt'. I can go anywhere I want and no one knows the difference."
"I saw you once," Brie commented. "You bumped into us. On the Starliner Alpha. Is that where we are now?"
Pierce looked slightly disturbed. "What makes you think that?"
"Common sense. Your date that night kept smiling at the people who worked in the ballroom, like she knew them. Plus with the recent renovations it wouldn't be that hard to make a room like this, hidden in the plans."
"It doesn't matter where we are," Pierce remarked. "What matters is what is going to be."
"What is it you want from me?" Brie asked.
Pierce looked off into the distance. "I want you...to understand. I can be a kind, merciful god, or full of wrath. I can be your best friend if you want me to. But you need to understand, Brie, that your life is now mine. I won't hesitate to punish you if you deserve it." Brie reached down and touched the device on her ankle. "That's a good example. Not only can I use it to cause you an incredible amount of pain, but there's also a poison. If you try to leave or do anything stupid, it will be released, instantly killing your unborn child. Now I know that your maternal instincts weren't that strong with Amy after she was born, and yes, I know all about Amy, but somehow I can't see you wanting to cause the death of your baby."
"How did you know that I'm pregnant?" Brie asked.
Pierce laughed again. "I've been monitoring your medical records. And also your communications, which weren't nearly as scrambled as you thought. By the way, Skyler says that he loves you too. Two men? Really, Brie, I never pictured you as THAT type...but anyway, it's a good thing that I had found out about your pregnancy, because I had planned on using anaesthesine vapor, but prolonged exposure could have harmed your child, so we used something that was milder. More expensive too, but worth it, proving that I am indeed merciful. It's funny how the techs will check over an entire viper but never even think of looking for a foreign substance in the helmet."
"So that's how you did it," Brie remarked.
"Enough about how you came to be with me," Pierce said sternly. "All that matters is that you realize that I am in control. And if extreme pain and the death of your child isn't enough of an incentive for you to obey..." Pierce switched on the monitor again. This time Brie could see the outline of a female figure, who also appeared to be sitting in the dark. The lights on the woman were turned up slightly, just enough so Brie could tell who it was.
"You have Amy," Brie stated, suddenly feeling nauseous.
"Of course," Pierce said with another grin. "It was so easy with her, all it took was one note, saying she wanted to disappear. Everyone was so willing to believe it. But she's been here with me since just after the Prison Barge mission. She, too, will come to understand." Brie stared at the monitor for several microns before Pierce shut it off. "As I already said, I am merciful. If you obey you will be well fed, that vegetarian diet that you love so much. Your pregnancy proceed normally, you will have regular visits from a doctor. I might even decide to leave the lights on from time to time. But if you don't bend to my will, Amy will suffer for it, as will your unborn child."
"Children," Brie corrected, seeing no reason to keep it from him. "I think I'm having twins."
"Even better." Pierce pointed to the four corners of the cell. "You will be constantly watched, so don't even think of trying anything."
"I won't," Brie said, defeated. "You win. You're in control. I won't fight you, Pierce."
Pierce stood up. "Good. I'll be sending someone soon with some food, you will be able to take it through the door. Do not even attempt to talk to him. And I will be back soon." He walked to the door and knocked on it. "We're going to have a wonderful time, Brie. You'll see. And you'll soon understand." The door opened, Pierce left, and the lights went out, leaving Brie once again in total darkness.
