Note:
Since the events in "Master Plan" are supposed to be taking place several hours after the events on the Prison Barge, I'm starting a new thread for continuity's sake. The first post is written by Brik.
**
(Continued from 38-B) Meanwhile, back on the Prison Barge, Persephone feeling tired and bedraggled, turned back to face Brik whispering," Oh, by the way, lieutenant, I DO have a blaster." She smiled awkwardly at the tall officer, as she had only now remembered, she still had the laser gun on her, that Logan had handed her on the shuttle. "I'm having sleep period for two sentons when I get back", she joked.
A relieved sigh passed out of Brik's mouth.
"Well Lieutenant, I believe that you've earned that blaster. I hope that you're a good shot because I want you to keep it and cover me. I'll take point, you in the middle and Janey in the rear. We'll go Warrior File, each of us on alternate sides of the corridor and advancing VERY slowly. No hurries, no worries. Everyone clear? Any questions?"
Brik knew that it might not be the brightest idea to take point when unarmed but he was also more experienced that Persephone and hoped that any shooting situation would allow him to be a distraction long enough for her to get off a shot. He just hoped that she didn't end up shooting him.
He paused for questions as well as a small rest and mental preparation before setting out to find his comrades.

Once again, THIS is where you should post if your character is still on the Prison Barge. The time line does not fit with "Master Plan", which is taking place the next day. Sorry that I had to go ahead like that, but there were some things I needed to take care of immediately. I'm going to lock that thread to avoid any further confusion.
This post is by Persephone.

Persephone took a deep breathe, anad replied to Brik after she sighed," It's as clear as it gets...and ah...my shot is pretty good. So, I promise not to shoot you, Lieutenant". She smiled faintly back at Brik. Persephone wondered what he was really thinking about though as he paused for any questions. She knew only too well, what may be brewing on the barge, but no one could tell exactly "what", or "when". she positioned herself ready on the opposite side of the corridor, with her laser gun gripped tightly in her right hand, held up near her shoulder.

Brik gingerly edged his way toward the hatchway, as Persephone slowly followed suite listening for anything or anyone on the other side of the door. All was quiet, until her personal comm beeped. Her heart almost jumped into her mouth not realising at first what it was.
The large lieutenant just stared at her, while Janey did the same. Persephone didn't know whether to see who it was beeping her or to throw it on the foor and stamp on it for making such a noise at this crucial centon.

"Well Lieutenant, who is it?"
The comm had scared him but he hoped that he hid it well. As long as this adventure had been and all of the danger surpassed...to be scared by a comm!
Thinking of which, he casually felt his belt and pants pockets and had no idea what had happened to his. Later he would curse himself as a daggit for not realizing that it was in his jacket.
Persephone looked as mortified as he would have been (had been more than once actually, he too had once been a green officer). Her embarrassment spoke well of her, she faced her mistake instead of making foolish excuses. "Don't worry about the noise Persephone. And it may be important." Maybe even something that will get us off of this accursed ship and mission, he thought to himself.
Aside from fatigue he suffered more from worry. Normally he would have been able to check on Logan and the rest of the mission team, it was a habit that he needed to indulge. And he had to find Ally. There remained a lot of unfinished business on the Callisto and in the fleet as a whole. And he really wanted a shower.

A pinprick of light was shining on the deck at the point where the noise originated. The light skittered across the celing, exposing the deckplates, wiring and innards of the barge's corrupted interior. The person holding the light scanned the corridor with it to his left and then back, towards the place where Logan and Hush stood immobile. The light flashed against the access plates for a circuit box on the opposite side of the corridor from Hush and Logan. A few feet and they would be seen.
Another grunt and the light disappeared. "Watch out, you fool. Hurry up and access the hatch."
"Just making sure of the all clear."
Logan was surprised her involuntary intake of breath didn't give up their position, but she felt Hush's grip intensify urging her to remain silent.
The second voice was unknown to her. But the first was unmistakable. Comeek.
Logan felt cold. How was this possible? They had just delivered Comeek to his cell. Somehow she knew that his odd behavior in the cell hadn't been directed toward her at all. The guard. It must have been the guard.
Her hand closed around the blaster she wished she had strapped on her hip as Hush's hand gripped her bicep. They were exhausted, in the dark, and unarmed. She wouldn't be willing to bet on a Full Pyramid that Comeek and his accomplice were without weapons.
There was a muttered curse and a scuttling noise ahead. The pinpoint of light was extinguished. Hush breathed "Ready?" in her ear and she nodded. She couldn't tell if the tensing of muscles she felt were her own or Hush's as they stood so close together.
The exterior door to the corridor was being opened. The merest difference in the darkness outlined two figures. One was slight. The other enormous.
Something clicked and Logan didn't know whether to shout in relief or warning as the lights suddenly flickered back on, sparks from the open ceiling raining down harmlessly far overhead.
There were only two other people in the corridor. Persephone and Brik faced Logan and Hush.
Brik's evident relief at seeing his friend quickly changed to readiness as he saw her expression. They had known each other a long time and could read each other's faces with an ease that came from longtime friendship and yahrens of sticky situations.
"Where?" was all Brik said.
Logan and Hush were both moving to the spot they knew that Comeek and the guard had been microns earlier. Though the corridor was empty, they moved cautiously and with a determination that belied their exhausted states. Logan nodded to Brik and motioned with her head.
He moved with a quickness that would be unexpected in such a large man. He motioned to Persephone to cover them, as she still clutched the only blaster in her hands.
There was a spot in the wall near the doorway on the left, an access hatch that had been hurriedly jammed back into place. Logan and Hush were on one side, Brik and Persephone on the other.
At Logan's signal, Brik ripped the hatch open and threw it to the side. The tunnel beyond was narrow and a mess of wires and leaking conduits. It went on several meters before breaking into a junction of access tunnels throughout the ship.
"Whoever was here is long gone now." Brik sighed and looked around at Logan.
She was leaning against the wall, Hush looking at her curiously as if he was waiting for her to collapse and meant to be there to catch her when she did.
"It was Comeek. We need to alert Ghim. Comeek has escaped."

Capt Stadia quietly moved forward toward where she had heard the noise coming from. She heard voices and moved her ear to lay against the door. It was Brik.

"Whoever was here is long gone now." Brik sighed and looked around at Logan.
Persephone relaxed her gip on the blaster, and took a moment to check who had beeped her before. 'Triton', she read at the bottom of the short message. The message read, "Pers, found your cousin Io. Are you on your way back to the Callisto? Can't wait to see you. Triton"
Persephone was confused and unsure what to make of this unexpected message. And suprised that her personal comm even still worked after all the events on the shuttle.

Capt Stadia listened closely to the voices that were mumbled through the door. Taking her laser pistol in her hand, she motioned to the others to do the same. She reached down with her hand and slowly turned the knob. The lts were ready to go on a moments notice.
Slamming the door open and running in.......

Crap on a cubit.
"Agreed, Ghim must be warned but so must the fleet. Persephone, get on your comm..." His hand brushed against his own communicator...in his jacket pocket. This day just kept on going. He took it out and began to compose a message, talking as he typed.
"Never mind Lieutenant, found my own. I'm sending a priority message to the Callisto and the Galactica regarding the prisoner Comeek's escape and suspected assistance from a guard...and requesting that all civilian flight be temporarily grounded throughout the fleet and the Prison Barge locked down immediately. And...that a hand-picked group of Skyler's Trooper buddies be sent to shake-down this vessel from stem to stern, also immediately. I've had enough of this felgercarb for one really long day."
Brik looked up to see everyone staring at him. He stared back. "And I don't know about the rest of you but I really want a fracking Blaster!" That's when he finally smiled at his friends.

Persephone was about to take her personal com back out to begin sending a message for Brik, but no sooner hasd she put her hand on it , he said, "Never mind Lieutenant, found my own".
However, she glanced another time at Triton's bizzare message, but was intererupted with the last words of Briks. "I've had enough of this felgercarb for one really long day. And I don't know about the rest of you but I really want a fracking Blaster!", smiling his quirky smiles that could make anyone break their serious composure. Persephone let her smile creep across her face. She too was way past fed up with the day she was feeling like she may not yet see the end of.
For some unknown reason, Lysander came to her mind.
