I have just had 2 days off where I managed to watch all the BSG Episodes on DVD. I am finding it hard to decide whether Saga Of A Star World or Living Legend is my favourite. On one hand you have the beginning and the introduction to everyone and their plight. On the other you have the Galactica meeting up with another Battelstar and kick some serious Tin-Head Butt.
Well, I can't decide so both those episodes are my favourite. Plus what makes them more interesting are the bits that have been added in. Especially when Apollo serves it to Commander Cain in reference to the impending attack on the 3 basestars.
So what is everyone else’s favourite episode and why?

I love Living Legend too! It introduced Sheba, one of the best characters on the show. Too bad the Pegasus and Cain couldn't have stuck around too. Now that would have been cool! If the show would have lasted longer I'm sure we'd have seen the Pegasus again. Stupid network!!!

I have two favorites as well. I love War of the Gods and Hand of God. When I first saw the ship of light in War, I was in awe. Way back in the 70s that was an awsome special effect. The plot line was interesting and entertaining, but what was illuded to was even more facinating. I think that everyone developed an interest in just who those beings of light really were after that.
Hand of God ranks up there because of the subplot of one of our moon missions. I always liked the Egyptian connection, but I loved seeing something on the show that I've seen on the news. It really enhanced the feeling that they were looking for US and I was ready to escape this planet and go with them.
Peace,
Kat

My favorite is Man with Nine Lives, and not just because of my Starbuck obsession. I remember when it was first on thinking "They got Fred Astaire!" and the chemistry between him and Dirk B was just fabulous. It's still the episode I'll choose to watch if I have nothing better to do. It was also nice to have some Apollo/Boomer comraderie for a change. Plus you gotta love the Nomen.
In my opinion, though, the best episode (different from my favorite) is Hand of God. It showed the tremendous potential of the show.

And I totally agree Brie.... The Hand of God...... definately showed what potential BSG could have made. It was a wonderful way to end the show and at the same time it was like showing us something so good and then jerking it away from us. Saying well you could have had this, but we aren't going to let you see anymore...... I like the new show because it is all I can get on tv that is bsg.... but it is such a joke compared to the original intent. It just blows me away why they had to destroy such a good show. A show that had so much potential. It might have been different had bsg continued and lasted several years...etc... and then they did a remake... at least we could say oh well...But with the show being cancelled so early and then doing a hack job like this is just crazy....... I do like some stuff on it..but a lot of it is trash

Sorry Brie, have to disagree My favorite and what I consider the best episode of the series is War of the Gods. Genuine intrigue, rouses the emotions (I hate Iblis!) and Triad is introduced!! Gives the whole series a beyond the here and now realm and that was deep... But the whole show was awesome!

Yeah I liked "war of the gods"... you know it is amazing to me when so many critics of the original series say.. there was no plot or character developement. I have heard that from so many people and so many professional critics.. I think... they had 22 episodes to build an entire world around. Now you all know me ... know how I earn a living.... I am a big big Star Trek fan... and as far as I am concerned , those 22 episodes built just a good of an image and plot, as well as a universe of characters as Star Trek did in its 79 episodes. Oh if we had only had 79 episodes of Battlestar Galactica.......
