Persephone strode down the corridors to find Triton. She went through things in her head she would say, when she confronted him. Triton had probably jumped to all the wrong assumptions of what he saw in the officer's club.
He should have made his presence known, she thought to herself. Why is he behaving like a five yahren old?, she further wondered.
She reached the Officer's Mess, and entered the room. Triton sat at a table toward the back of the room, reading what looked like a IFB paper.
"Can I join you?"
Triton looked up form his paper to see Persephone standing in front of him.
"Ahh...sure." he replied with a tone that indicated what she already knew he was thinking.

"If I find out anything else, I'll let you know," she said instead. "Maybe I'll take Baris hostage until he tells me," she said, giving Skyler a playful wink. He laughed and she heard a cough behind her. The sentry had a shocked and disapproving expression on his face.
"Kidding, of course," she told the uncertain Lt.
Another cough, this time from behind the sentry as Lt. Baris walked around him and into the room, his glasses a bit askew as he raised his eyebrows. "While the prospect of your company is quite an entertaining notion, Lt. Logan, I think you'll find that straightforward inquiries get better responses from me than interrogation ever will."
Skyler laughed, loudly and Logan even thought the sentry was snickering. Her face flushed in a rare show of embarassment but she recovered quickly. "Oh, I don't know, Lt. Baris. You haven't been interrogated by me...yet." She stood up calmly and struck her best Warriorlike pose, straight-shouldered and confident.
Baris just smiled at her. Other Warriors and a few Techs had been intimidated by her stance before, but Baris seemed delighted and rather amused.
While Logan stood, refusing to admit defeat against the Lt., he walked to Skyler's bedside and held out a pad. Skyler was still laughing, but more quietly since he saw the fire in Logan's eyes and knew that storm was one he didn't want to deal with at the micron. "What's this, Lt?"
Baris checked the readouts beside the biobed. "Your release orders. Since you haven't blown any stitches with laughter, I think you'll be fine. Come back for your scheduled follow up and you should be approved for active duty before you know it."
Baris turned to leave the room. " And Lt. Logan," he said in a conciliatory tone, "I don't have any new information on the Bronze Squadron team. If their status changes and I'm able to share the information, you'll be the first to know."
Logan's expression softened. "Thank you."
Baris nodded and left the room.
Logan quickly turned to Skyler and pointed an accusing finger at him. "Not. One. Word."
Skyler smiled broadly and put on his most innocent expression. "What?"
Logan looked at the sentry who quickly looked down at his boots as if they were the most interesting things in the universe.

"Evening, Lieutenant, nice boots" he said to the mildly surprised guardsman at Skyler's door as he walked past the man with no challenge.
He was unconsciously used to that.
"Logan, THAT was funny, you're so CUTE when you blush!" Logan and Skyler both looked up in surprise at the entry of their large, and apparently stealthy, friend and comrade. Brik saw Logan's patented stare fix itself on his face and he disregarded it in favor of shaking hands, warrior style, with Skyler.
"Brother, it's been FAR too long since we've seen each other in one piece...and I believe that I owe you all some milk and cookies."
Logan and Skyler both (and even the Lt. at the door) smiled at this as Skyler began to rise, looking longingly at his uniform in the open closet across the small room. "Logan, why don't we step out to so that the man can get dressed...GOLD SQUADRON is officially and completely back in business!"

Skyler sat on the edge of the bed as his friends left. He double checked the release orders in his hands. It couldn’t be true, but it was. He wasn’t sure he had convinced the doctors that the pain was gone, but it looked like he had. Okay, Mary, his day nurse hadn’t bought it, claimed she could see his eyes dance with the pain. Ok, it still hurt, some, but not enough to keep him from returning to that which he loved, being a Warrior. He slowly rose from the side of the bed and walked over to the locker. A fresh, pressed uniform hung at the ready. As he picked up his boots, he checked them inside and out, one never knew with Holodoc running around what kind of sticky substance would wind up where. Nope these were safe, clean and shined… well almost shined, must have been a first orbit cadets punishment to shine boots. Yes, they would pass any inspection, unless Skyler was giving it. He had been known far and wide to new recruits as a tyrant when it came to uniform protocol and procedures. Some thought he had memorized the manuals, some even speculated that he had written them with the ease he could quote them. Putting on that uniform never felt so good. This stay in the med lab had been the longest he had been out of uniform in many yarhens… not since his infantry days, he thought back as his hand went to the scare he bore from that mission. In no time at all Skyler was dressed and sported a fresh turbo shave. Looking into the mirror he noted it was about time to have his hair trimmed, it was a little long by his standards. He turned and keyed in a security code into the lock box in the locker and it slid open. The medallion in the grip of his blaster gleamed in the light. He strapped on his old friend, glanced around the room and went to meet his friends waiting just outside.

Persephone sat down and looked Triton directly in the eyes. He seemed to not know where to look.
"Er..Found anything interesting in the paper?",she asked.
"Yeah..a few things."Triton replied.
"Hmm. It must be interesting if you're reading it upside down."
Triton stared at Persephone, realising he did in fact have the paper the wrong way around.
"Can we talk, Triton. I think there's been a misunderstanding this evening".
Triton let out a shallow sigh.
"Is there something I should know, Pers?"
She was relieved that he was willing to hear her side of the story, which was the only side, in truth!

There was a knock on Brie's door. She opened it. Den, an elderly gentleman from the Callisto Mess, was there. He wheeled in a cart. "Dinner for two," he said, a sly grin on his face. "Big date?"
"It's a dinner meeting, discussing the next system," Brie replied, returning the grin. She really liked the old man. "And it was supposed to be dinner for three, I changed the order. Captain Amy is staying with me temporarily."
"I never got that order," Den replied, "but I don't think that will be much of a problem. I saw the good Captain on my way here. She was with Colonel Charybdis. He was trying to get her to go to his quarters. She had...um...imbibed a little bit too much, and it sounded like he wanted her to sleep it off."
"Oh." It was all that Brie could think of to say. "Well, thank you, Den. I really appreciate you bringing this out for me."
Den took the hint and opened the door. "Always a pleasure, Ma'am." He waited until the door had closed behind him, then took a few steps down the hall. "Widow," he mumbled under his breath with disgust.

After a lengthy shift I was looking forward spending time with Brie. I wasn't far from Brie's quarters when I saw Roxzanna Rizou and her vid cam operator walk towards me. I quickly ducked down a side corridor. I weaved around until I was sure I wasn't being followed. Once I was sure I headed back to Brie's quarters. As I came around the corner I saw an elderly gentleman from the Callisto Mess called Den was at her door.
I waited until he left before knocking on her door. I was there for a few microns when the door opened. Then before I could say anything I was pulled inside. Matching her intensity I placed my arms around her and gave her a passionate kiss which seemed to last forever.
" I can see you missed me just as much as you missed you Brie."

" I can see you missed me just as much as you missed you Brie."
"I can't wait to show you exactly how much." Brie grinned, and locked her door from the inside. A special lock had been installed after her problems with Pierce, and it could be unlocked only by Brie or the Commander. "Amy's not here and I think it will be awhile before she gets back, but I don't want to take any chances, or waste any time." She took JustinB's hand and started towards the bedroom. "Of course this means our dinner will probably get cold."

"I bumped into Misty Star just a few centons ago at the Officer's Club. She said you were headed over here, and you didn't look very happy".
"Can't imagine why she thought that, Pers".
"I can, Triton".
He looked at Persephone, thinking, yeah... you know. "So tell me, I'm curious why Misty and you think there's a reason for my apparent unhappy look".
So, he's going to deny that he was upset, typical male, she thought to herself. "Because you were at the officer's club not long ago too. You saw me sitting with someone else, and like a typical Virgoan, you just assumed everything in a critical light, allowing your frantic mental pace to jump to conclusions before knowing the truth".
Triton had never been analyzed in a nut shell, faster than it would take for a child to spin a baraton. Her words were over and he was cut down to size, before he could think about putting up one more slab of Magna around his feelings.
"So are you going to keep playing this game with me or are you going to admit you simply got jealous over nothing"?
Triton's blue eyes were half shooting a look of disbelief that Persephone had been so direct with him, and half looking like a child that had just been scolded by his mother.
He took a deep breathe, and finally answered. "I'm sorry. I guess I did overreact. I think it might go without saying that I feel like an Astrex right now, Persephone".
She knew she had remedied the situation to neutral now. Trying to hold back a smirk, she said, " Yeah, but it's such a cute astrex..." She couldn't help it now...she let out a laugh.
Triton's mouth was agap. He still had a slight flustered look in his baby blues. But soon surrendered to this woman's sneak disarmament upon his ego. But he had to make a come back and salvage something of his grace. "I guess it's not so bad, for a turbo flush cleaner". A smirk spread across his cheeks.
They now smiled, laughing softly.
"For what it's worth, Tri, I actually came looking for you to tell you some exciting news. That's when I bumped into Lieutenant Lysander. The sentry I was having a an innocent ale with. I met him in Alpha Bay this morning. He helped me to locate Logan for me. Anyway. He offered to buy an ale for me. It would have been rude for me to refuse his kind offer. I was taught to be polite, Triton".
"Pers, you don't have to explain anymore. I understand. Can you forgive me for being so presumptuous?"
"You know I can't stay mad at you for long. Besides I'm too happy about my news".
Triton suddenly glanced at her collar pins. More than one insignia pin, he thought. "Pers! you've got a new insignia? when? "
Right after returning the laundry to the Major. She presented me with a new pin. Isn't it too exciting, Triton?
He jumped up form his chair, and wrapped his arms around her. "Congatulations Pers! I'm so happy for you".
"Thank you, Tri."
"Lieutenant Persephone", he cooed. Oh, you have to let me help you celebrate, Pers." He put up an index finger in the air, and proclaimed, "I know, give me a centare, and meet me in the Star Deck."
Persephone's eyes were lit up with surprise. "But the Star Deck is reserved only for the higher officers, Triton. We don't have access to that room."
He moved in closer to her and put his finger up to her mouth. "Shh, I have a friend who owes me a favour, so don't worry about it, okay. Just put on a nice dress, and meet me in one centare. Promise?", he half whispered in his velvet tone.
Her head was spinning, but managed to reply with a yes.
"Great. I promise you a memorable evening", smiling, he glanced to each side, before kissing her quickly and whirling around, and striding out of the officer's mess.
"Triton, by the way, I'm supposed to pass on the message to you that we both have to report for our physical checks sometime!" she shouted out after him.
"First thing at the end of light cycle tomorrow!", he shouted back, turning his head slightly back, and holding up a hand in acknowledgement to the message passed on.
"Meet you in a centare!" he added, before disappearing out into the corridor.
Guess I'd better go take a turbo wash and change, she thought with butterflies in her stomach.
Meanwhile, a worker from the Agro ship was delivering fresh flowers to the Callisto. Kanance, the woman who distributed flowers to the offices, board and meeting rooms onboard, was pushing a trolly up through delta deck, filled with all kinds of flowers grown from seeds from all over the Colonies. Lysander was walking toward her on his way back to his billet, when he saw a beautiful bunch of small lilies, on the cart.
"Excuse me", he said as he stopped the woman. "Kanance, right?"
"Yes, lieutenant. May I help you", Kanance said.
"What are those small lilies you have there?", he asked with admiration of them.
"Oh those are Piscean Pink Lily of the Valley. Their exquisite aren't they?"
"They sure are. Could I get a bouquet of them?"
"Of course, Lieutenant. For someone special?", she inquired politely, as she assembled the flowers, neatly bounded by a smooth powder blue silk ribbon.
"Ah..yes. She is special." he replied with a smile as he handed her twenty cubits for the bouquet.
Triton happened to be also heading down delta deck, when he spied the flowers on the cart up ahead. "Flowers...exactly what I was looking for", he said out loud to himself.

Logan leaned against the wall of Med Lab with her arms crossed in front of her staring at Brik as he grinned in that insufferable way he had. It was hard not to return the smile as she was very happy that Skyler was being released. But she knew part of his mirth was at her expense and the interaction she had had with Lt. Baris earlier.
The more she glared, the broader his grin became until finally she completely gave up and couldn't supress her laughter any longer. "You are impossible."
Brik nodded in agreement just as Skyler joined them outside the door. The sentry had taken up residence at the door to the Reception Area and was looking around uncertainly. His orders were to watch Skyler while he was under medical supervision and with his charge released he seemed unsure what to do.
At that micron, Logan's personal comm beeped, signally her that she had a message. She reached onto her belt and furrowed her brow as she read it.
Lieutenant,
That scum Comeek from Pierce's group would like to see you before he's transferred to the Prison Barge. I have no idea why. It's totally up to you if you want to see him or not. If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time.
Opposer Boleman
"What is it?" Brik asked, seeing his friend's perplexed features.
"Comeek wants to see me?" It came out as a question as she thought back to the Agro Ship and the greasy little man who had been so intent on her. She still remembered the satisfacton of feeling her fist connect with his jaw in the escape from Pierce's followers.
"Pierce's stooge?" Brik asked.
Skyler smirked. "Wasn't he the one that was promised you would be his...wife?"
Logan cut her eyes at him. "He's being transferred to the Prison Barge and Boleman says the daggit wants to see me. This can't be good."
"Are you going?" Brik asked, already knowing the answer.
Logan put the comm back on her belt and raised her head to meet her friend's gaze. "Oh, I'm going. I still don't think all of Pierce's followers have been found and there's no telling what he might tell me if he thinks I'm still one of them."
