In Saga Of A Star World, what took Apollo so long getting to the bridge when the attack on the colonies began? Must have been 10 minutes or more between Zac reaching the fleet and Apollo reaching the bridge. He must have skipped decon because Adama said "Get that pilot up here as soon as he lands!"
Just curious.
Also, I realize Adar ordered Adama not to launch, but why didn't the other battlestars get vipers off when the attack began? Surely Adama wasn't the only one to see the Cylon attack coming...

I think he did. WHen they land all vipers on the Galactica after the attack, don't they say something about so many vipers which are not thiers who land on the Galactica?
I think some did but very few...

My question about Apollo is why when he was close to the Galactica why he didn't raise the bridge?
When Zac was close to the fleet he pleaded for help and they heard it fine.
If he did maybe more of the Battlestars would have launched vipers once they had knowledge of an impending attack.

Yeah, you figure as Apollo and Zac make it back to the fleet, Adama would have launched earlier to confront the Raiders. Oh well, we had to have someone die early to enrage the viewer! Zac was the first to die in the final destruction...

Its a good bet that the Raiders were jamming communitions until the destroyed Zac, since they were on top of the Fleet already when they did it. Might be why Apollo couldn't get thru. As to the other Battestar's launching interceptors, they did. Rigel states in the Pilot/Saga of a Star World the number of returning Vipers, and breaks it down as to how many are the Galactica's. Since a real landing was never really seen on screen, it could be it took that long to capture the landing Viper, kinda of like on a real carrier. At any rate, it could of have taken the time allowed for Apollo to reach the bridge. However, there isn't an intercom on the blasted ship? He could not of have called the bridge... "Dad, yeah, Apollo, look lots of toasters heading this way, going kick our booty, Zac is a goner, send help NOW!!!
Gotta run...

It wouldn't be a show about the last battlestar if the other battlestars got their vipers off when the attack began. I never liked the fact that Zac was killed off. I think Zac would have been a great ongoing character on the show.

I have always wondered about this. It was just a big gaping plot hole! In "Lost Planet of the gods", Boomer communicates directly from the landing bay to Adama on the bridge and gives him and update of what he found while on patrol. So of course Apollo could have communicated with the bridge from the landing bay. I also thought that perhaps Apollo should have been able to talk to the Galactica like Zack did from his ship. But, at least later on in the episode when the Cylons are attacking the colonies, they said that the Cylons stopped jamming transmissions and it was because the attack was actually under way. That would explain why Zack could communicate and Apollo couldn't. Oh well, if Apollo could have warned them there would not be a "Battlestar Galactica" it would be the "colonies"

Oh yeah.. and in ref. to the vipers being launched. Once the attack starts I believe Athena or Ty tell Adama that none of the other Battlestars launched vipers. But at Caprica, Ty is told that there were 67? vipers and 26? were their own. Therefore some battlestars did launch. This is another plot hole. I hate plot holes, but I love BSG and for an over all historical legend universe such as was produced in 22 episodes I can overlook these few.

I was watching Saga of a Starworld the movie version this weekend.
