Battlestar Galactica: "The Exodus Series" is a hard-edged look at the original Battlestar Galactica universe. Expanding on the 1978 television series, Exodus shows us a closer view of the Colonial society, including the roots of thier own destruction, their elaborate cultural and religious history, and the higher powers that have driven them from their lost homes towards a greater destiny. Episode 01 tells the story of Pythagorus, a pacifist-scholar living on the military stronghold of Sagitarra, who has dedicated his life to opposing the war-like nature of his society. He blames his own culture for their hard-lined approach to the Cylon threat and is frustrated by their unwillingness to recognize their role in promoting a continuing war that has claimed millions of human lives and flipped a formerly artistic society upside down. When the Cylons overrun his planet, he is forced to evaluate what he really believes and whether he is willing to sacrifice his life defending his principles. Pythagorus is thrust into a scenario beyond his imagination where he finds himself fighting a Cylon adversary on battlegrounds he hitherto could only barely contemplate. Through his eyes, we learn the true nature of the Cylon menace, the real history behind the Cylons themselves, and what makes them glare at mankind and see nothing more than a race that must be exterminated at all costs. As I'm listening to this, it goes deeper into the history,as we know it,of the Colonials, the Cylons, etc.... VERY interesting. It even mentions the events in Richard Hatch's books. Would this be considered as official timeline?
