Being guided to Brie's room was a delight. Here I was expecting dinner and finding out we were hungry for something else. I hadn't fallen so hard in love before, but it was great. As she closed the door, I embraced her tightly and locked my lips around hers. Her lips were so soft and sweet. It was if time stood still. Next thing I knew, I was up against her bed. I tried hard not to fall onto it, but with a push from Brie I was. The bed was nice and soft. I am sure if allowed I would sleep nice and sound. That was not to be. We were in each others embrace once more. Our kisses were more passionate. I ran my fingers through her hair. I was in heaven and with each passing moment I was loving Brie more. We stopped kissing for a brief moment.
"Brie,' I said, "I love you."

"Brie, I love you."
"Show me," Brie whispered, then kissed JustinB again.
A centar later they reemerged from the bedroom. Brie was happier than she had been in yahrens. She loved this stage of their relationship, everything was so new and exciting, and she hoped that feeling would last forever. She still didn't know if he liked coffee but she was discovering other things that he did like! She was finding out more about JustinB every micron, and falling deeper in love.
Out of habit Brie automatically checked her messages. There were two. The first was good news from the med lab, Skyler had been released for light duty. The second was from Commander Sheba. "Hmm..."
"Anything important?" JustinB had come up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Commander Sheba wants to meet with me after the briefing tomorrow," Brie replied. "She says she has an idea she wants to run by me. I wonder what that's about. Oh well." She turned and faced JustinB, putting her arms around his neck. "I'm not going to even think about the next system at the moment. Right now there is no war, no Cylons, I'm not a squadron leader, I'm a woman madly in love." They kissed again. "Now, about our dinner...I'm starving." Brie took JustinB's hand and they went over to her sofa and sat down. BrieCora came running over and tried to jump in Brie's lap. "Not now, Kitty," Brie said, gently placing the kitten back on the floor. The food trays were on Brie's small coffee table in front of the sofa. Brie took the lid off one of them and smiled. "I was right. Dinner is cold." She started to laugh. "It was certainly worth it."

Skyler felt a twinge of guilt at not tagging along with Logan. He knew that if something went wrong the security staff in the brig were well trained and equipment to handle anything Logan left for them to do, if trouble started. He was just a bit over protective, always has been. He also knew that if he had of tagged along, she would be equally mad at him for the assumption that she needed help. He couldn't win that fight so he decided he would take Brik up on his cookie and milk offer.
As Brik made his few last micron jabs at Logan about he new found love interest, Skyler sent a quick message to Brie that he was released on light duty. Hitting send he turned to Brik and motioned towards the O-Club with his head.
"So, that Milk and Cookie offer still on the table?"

Logan collected her thoughts as she neared the brig. She had no idea what that little idiot Comeek wanted, but all her instincts were telling her that it wasn't anything good.
She recalled quite vividly his greasy stare during the failed takeover on the Agro Ship, when he'd thought she was one of that madman Pierce's followers. She had assumed that once she had clocked him in the jaw in the escape he would have realized that she wasn't on his side. But he, like the other traitors, was delusional. He'd have to be to think that she would have anything to do with him.
Comeek was a small, greasy-haired computer technician, largely rsponsible for keeping Pierce's group's communications hidden from the Fleet for so long. In the end, his technical wizardry hadn't been enough and the plot to take over the Fleet had been uncovered.
Logan stopped just outside the door to the brig and adjusted her hair, hanging in it's ponytail. On a hunch, she untied the leather strip and let her long, auburn hair fall past her shoulders, pocketing the strip for later. If for some reason, Comeek still thought she was on his side, she might be able to use his attraction to her against him and find out if he knew anything important. Of course, he had been questioned extensively by the Black Shirts. I only wish they'd let me have a crack at him.
She wasn't sure why she was so disgusted by the man, but she wasn't used to having someone like him pursue her either. He thought women were tools and possessions. Something Logan most definitely was not. The way he had looked at her, as if he were already intimately familar with her made her cringe. And considering the fact that her reputation in the Fleet, especially among the male members of the Callisto, was of a woman you shouldn't cross, she was more flummoxed that Comeek would think her weak-willed enough to be a pawn in Pierce's game.
Steeling herself, she walked through the doorway and along the corridor towards the security chief's desk. The cells were unoccupied this close to the outer corridor but she could hear mumbled conversations further along the walkway, the scrape of boots on deck, the shifting of bodies on cots.
The guard on duty looked up at her with surprise as she scanned the nearest cells looking for Comeek. The only person she could see had his back turned to her, his shirt off and was doing deep knee bends. His muscular back gleamed with sweat in the light cast from a globe overhead.
"Can I help you?" the guard said uncertainly.
"I'm Lt. Logan. I received word that a prisoner wanted to speak with me. It should have been cleared with Opposer Boleman."
The guard scanned a pad in front of him. "Yes. Yes, here it is. Cell D-1, right over there." The guard pointed over her shoulder to the cell holding the muscular man, who, seemingly oblivious to the conversation behind him, had started doing push ups.
Logan looked past him and saw no one else in the cell. "No. I'm here to see Comeek," she said again.
At that moment, hearing his name, the prisoner stood up and faced the front of the cell, gazing through the bars into the corridor and straight at Logan.
Her mouth fell open. It was Comeek.
She barely heard the guard behind her. "Like I said, cell D-1. Keep it short." The guard looked past Logan into the cell and called out, "You have a visitor." With that, he returned to the paperwork on his desk.
Logan walked the short distance to the cell and looked at Comeek closely. He had obviously been working out while locked in the brig. He had been skinny, rail-thin the last time she'd seen him. The changes to his body had not reached his face though. The same beady eyes leered at her, his nose was still too thin and sharp and his hair swept to the side was still dank and greasy.
He didn't bother putting his shirt back on and seemed to take Logan's silent appraisal of his transformation as admiration.
"Logan, you came,' he sputtered. He looked her up and down very openly and she thought she could feel his heavy breathing even though they were a few feet apart.
Remembering her role after the initial shock at his transformation, she stepped closer to the bars and smiled. "Yes. I had to. I didn't think you'd want to see me after what happened before." She looked down as if embarrassed.
Comeek looked like he wanted to squeeze through the bars. His eyes were fixed on her face, his hands running along the bars as if he was touching her instead. He licked his lips as she spoke, "Now, now, my pet. I know why you hit me."
He looked towards the guard and further down the corridor to where 2 uniformed security agents stood. None of them seemed to be listening, but Logan knew better. You could hear a pin drop in here. Even the other prisoners had gone silent.
Logan realized that Comeek must think it had all been an act. That she didn't want to blow her cover, so she had hit him to fool Brie. He thinks I'm still one of them. Careful to keep her voice low enough for only him to hear, Logan put her hands on her hips and leaned closer to the bars, she looked down demurely and then back up at him, feigning her most coy expression. "I knew you would understand." The words were almost a purr to his ears and she thought he would faint where he stood.
His eyes traveled down her body and back up again, his fists clenching and unclenching in excitement. "I'm being moved to the Prison Barge soon. I'm so glad you haven't been discovered. Are there others? Are our people still working towards our Master's goals?"
Logan swallowed the bile in her throat at the glazed expression on his face as he scanned her body again. His breathing was coming faster and she thought she could see spittle on his lips. Thank the Lords, Skyler and Brik aren't here.
She waited to see if he'd say more, but the guards at the end of the corridor had moved closer. "I don't know about any others. I'm watching. and waiting."
He seemed disappointed by this news. Logan came to the conclusion that he really didn't know anything. "I have to go," she said.
Comeek seemed about to protest or attempt to come through the bars and start ripping her uniform off. She couldn't tell which. He took a deep breath as she smiled at him, attempting to put him at ease. "The faithful shall be rewarded," he whispered as the guards came closer.
Logan took a step back and said, loudly enough for everyone to hear, "You are a disgusting little man. And there is nothing I can do for you. You should have thought about the consequences of your actions before throwing in your lot with that maniac."
Comeek seemed shocked. Logan surreptitiously winked at him before turning to the approaching guards. "Do me a favor and make sure this mangy little daggit doesn't send me any more messages."
Comeek, understanding her ploy now, decided to play along. Evidently he felt it safer to take the abuse and keep her cover intact than lambast her for talking so harshly to the man who would own her one day if he remained faithful. "A word or two to the Widow...err, I mean the Major. For mercy?"
The guard closest to the cell door smirked. "Should've thought about mercy before you tried to kill half the Fleet."
Comeek closed his mouth as the guards walked with Logan to the brig's entrance. "Don't worry, Lt. He won't be bothering you or anyone where he's going."
Logan glanced back to the cell and saw Comeek watching her. She thanked the guards and walked out. I'm going to have to take a long turbo shower to wipe that stare off of me now.
Comeek didn't know anything. It almost seemed like he was wanting her to tell him something. Pierce's people were well hidden if there were any still left out there. Why did he want to see me? To say goodbye? To leer at me one more time? To refresh my image for his sick fantasies? Something isn't adding up here. If he truly believes that I'm still on his side why would he risk seeing me and blowing my cover?
Left with more questions than before she visited him, Logan made her way towards the O Club, intent on getting a drink and trying to sort out why her instincts were telling her trouble was coming.

Returning from the turbo wash, Persephone opened her locker, and fingered through her few dresses. She looked at the first one. More for a dressier special occasion, she thought , then she pulled the next slightly further out to consider it. The neckline was perhaps a little too plunging. She didn't want to look over glamourous, for just a low-key dinner.
The next dress came forth into her view. "Perfect", she whispered to herself. Bending down she took out a pair of high heel shoes, from out of a velvet bag she stored her few good shoes in. Slipping on the dress, and shoes, she then brushed her long brown hair. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she mused, it needs something.
Her green eyes darted over back to her locker, walking back over, she withdrew a small satin lined box. She opened the lid, revealing a pair of Alexandrian Pearl earrings.
Perephone's mind was back her once betrothed, Chiron.
"Persephone would you pass me my fumerello case next to you, honey?" said Chiron smiling at Persephone across a candle-lit dinner table.
"Sure, sweetie."
As she picked up Chiron's fumerellos, a small satin lined box fell back down on the table from under the case. Picking it up from the table, she asked, "What's this?"
"It's for you, Pers. Open it", Chiron told her.
Her slender fingers opened the tiny elegant box, with a pair of exquisite pearl earrings catching the soft candle light upon their smooth glowing surfaces. They looked like twin moons shining back at her.
"They're Alexandrian Pearls, once the very finest in the Colonies. I bought them from a wealthy Siress", he explained as he rose form his chair and came to Persephone to kiss her.
"They're simply beautiful, Chiron! But you shouldn't have..."
"Why shouldn't I? You deserve the best, sweetheeart. I love you", he said as he gazed deep in her eyes leaning in to kiss her again.
Persephone was always hopeless under Chiron's kisses, and the very spell he put her under with his love for her. She loved him deeply, passionately. He was her best friend in all the worlds. But he's gone now.
The sound of one of the other female officers shutting their locker, brought her back to this time, this place.
Triton. She reminded herself. She had a few more centons left until she was to meet him. She put the earrings back in her locker, and turned her combination lock.
She glanced once more at her mirror, smoothing her dress, and adjusting the barrette in her hair, the lieutenant decided she didn't need anything more but Triton's company.
Smiling, she left her quarters and out into the hallway towards the Star Deck room.

I looked at the food that trays were on Brie's small coffee table in front of the sofa. Brie took the lid off one of them and smiled. "I was right. Dinner is cold." She started to laugh and what a cute laugh it was. "It was certainly worth it."
"It sure was Brie. I have never felt so alive as I do right now. Ever since our dinner on the Starliner Alpha I feel like a new man. I feel things I never thought I would feel. Brie, I have never let anyone get past a barrier I put up, but you have cut through like a hot knife through butter. I want you to know that as much as being a warrior means to me, you mean the world to me and I don't think I could live without you." Hopefully with what I had just said I didn't frighten her off.

"I want you to know that as much as being a warrior means to me, you mean the world to me and I don't think I could live without you."
"Don't say that," Brie replied immediately. "You know as well as I do that nothing lasts forever." She noticed the horrified look in JustinB's eyes. "I didn't mean it like that. There's nothing wrong, and believe me, I want to be with you. It's just that..." She paused, trying to find the right words. "I've learned not to get too comfortable. The micron I let my guard down too far everything falls apart. I've lived through this before. We don't know what the next system holds, or the one after that, or the one after...Lords know that I love you, JustinB. But all we're guaranteed is this micron right now. I'm living in the moment, and making the most of each and every micron that we're given." She kissed JustinB again, hoping that she hadn't hurt his feelings. "Now let's eat." They each took their dinner plate. "Roxzanna-Rizou stopped by here earlier. She wanted to do an interview about the whole Pierce debacle, even though she admitted that it's old news. She must be getting really desperate for a story." Brie grinned. "She knows that your new girlfriend is a redhead, but I don't think that she knows it's me." She paused, she hadn't used the word girlfriend before. It sounded so strange, especially considering her age. "She asked me how well I know you. I reminded her that you saved my life on the Agro Ship, which wouldn't have been necessary if the IFB had decided to check their facts before reporting." She took another bite of food and swallowed. "I have no idea when Amy is coming back. She's somewhere with Charybdis. She could be back her in a micron, or I might not see her again until tomorrow. It would be nice if one of them would be considerate enough to send me a message, let me know what's going on." They finished up their meals, then sat back and cuddled up together on the sofa. "I wish I could ask you to spend the night. But with Amy staying here..." She let her words drop. "I hope I didn't hurt you by what I said before. I love you, JustinB, and nothing will ever change that."

Skyler and Brik left the Life Station laughing and joking amongst themselves about Logan’s new found love interest. She always had a knack of getting into a mess. Sure she had bailed them out of a few, but it was still beyond funny.
“CAPTAIN SKYLER!!” The yell of a female voice and the sound of two people running, made Skyler’s skin began to crawl. It was a voice he had heard all too often being stuck in the life station with a monitor and limited reception on the IFB. Of course many in the fleet loved the news/gossip shows that Roxzanna-Rizou and what’s her named anchored. He preferred shows that dealt with the history of the Colonies and the drama W.C.I.S. When he retired he might even consider becoming a Special Agent with them, like Special Agent Jethro, if he survived.
“Captain, I am glad I caught you. I tried to see you a few days ago to check on your status for our viewers, but you had requested no visitors.”
Skyler stood with a blank expression. He had never made such a request. Must of have been Mary. Now he owed her for something else.
“So, are you fully recovered?”
Skyler glanced at the vid-cam operator and smiled. “Ma’am, that’s not my call. You would have to ask Doc. BJK.”
“We have, she won’t say because of confidentiality issues.”
“Then I will have to trust her judgment on that, and I won’t be able to tell you till she tells me it is ok to tell you.”
Rizou’s expression changed ever so slightly. “Captain, would you be able to comment on the mission that landed you in the life station?”
“Not to my knowledge. All missions are classified until cleared by the Commander to be discussed. When they clear the information for pubic release, there will be a PR officer to give you the information.”
“I was hoping to get the inside scoop from someone that was there? Maybe Lt. Brik could shed some light…”
“Not without clearance.” Was all the big man said, in a voice so deep and stern, she didn’t pursue it. Turning back to Skyler.
“Ok, Captain, another question. Major JustinB was recently seen with a redhead and I am trying to set up an interview with her. Would you happen to have any ideas on who it may be?”
“Ms Rizzo, I wouldn’t….” he was cut off…
“It is Rizou, not Rizzo….”
“Whatever, as I was saying… It isn’t my day to keep up with the Major. If you really want to know who he was with you will have to ask him, he doesn’t clear his social calendar with me.”
“I didn’t know since you were Second in Command of Gold Squadron, and a fellow Warrior. I know how you all like to brag about things…
“You know it is the narrow minded attitudes like that are why you never get interviews. You assume stereotypes and bend the facts to suit your story and sell ratings when those staged phony reality shows bomb you will have something to fall back on. As I said, it’s not my day to watch the Major. You should ask him.”
Rizou motioned to N’Rondar and he moved into get a tighter shot of Skyler’s face.
“Captain, no sense beating a dead equine is there. How about Major Brie… I would love to get her to sit down and talk about the Tribunal and the entire Pierce episode?” Skyler, quick as lighting grabbed the vid-cam lens that had moved in a little to close and turned it beyond the limits of its engineering. Feeling a satisfying snap and hearing the bits break he turned to the operator.
“Rhonda, could you be as kind as to not get that electronic felgercarb so fracking close to my face.”
The stunned operator stumbled back a few steps while Rizou corrected him. “His name is N’Rondar.”
“Whatever….” Skyler and Brik turned and walked off. Rizou started to follow but N’Rondar stopped her.
“What did you do that for? IF I keep at him he might let something slip.”
“Yeah Riz, his control. He just snapped the lens adjustments for the cam.”
“You have others, don’t even go there. If you are afraid, just say so.”
“Frack yes I am scared. That’s Captain Skyler and Lt. Brik. Either one of them could break me into more pieces than I care to think about. Now you are trying to ruffle both of them at the same time.”
“They are not that tough.”
“Ask those Black shirts that jumped Skyler a few Yarhen ago. Five of them and he hardly got a scratch. He walked thru them like a hot knife thru butter. I don’t mind helping you dig up your dirt on people, but you need to learn when to cool your thrusters.”
“Maybe you would like to try and find another job!” and she turned and stormed off in the opposite direction Skyler and Brik went in. N’Rondar just shook his head and followed, looking over the twisted metal lens on his vid-cam.

"No I'm not hurt Brie. I understand what you are saying. It's just you make me feel so great and I love what we have. I want you to know that my door is always open to you. So how are you and Amy going with the mother/daughter routine and how does she feel about you dating a younger man?" I asked with a smile
It was something that I had to accommodate. Brie was a mother and it would have to be me to fit in.

Brie sighed. "I haven't talked to Amy. She was sleeping when I got in, then by the time she was up I was in a meeting with a new recruit so I didn't talk to her, and then it was a crazy day. I did have the opportunity to yell at her. I got a call about a disturbance in the hall outside my office, she and Charybis were fighting...again. Amy was wearing a bathrobe of all things. So I reminded her that she wasn't projecting a good image for Gold Squadron. I could see the hurt look in her eyes. I felt so guilty. This parenting thing is going to be a whole lot harder than I thought it would be." She snuggled up closer. "But I really love the fact that I'm dating a younger man." She paused. She might as well ask him, he had brought it up. "So how do you feel about dating someone so much older than you are? Especially since I have a grown daughter."
