I just saw a pre-order at Wal-Mart.com for Richard Hatch's next BSG book called "Discovery." Wally world is selling it for just under $15.
It is scheduled for a June 2005 release...

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else on here.... I had one of the Richard Hatch books. I noticed a few discrepancies. One was that they Cylons lived about 200 years and the colonials lived about 70-80 years or yahrens. This contradicts Apollo's comment to Boxy on "Saga of a Star World" that Cylons live forever (more or less). It also contradicts Adama's comment, I believe in "War of the god's" that the colonials have a life span of about 200 yahrens thanks to their technological advances. I know it seems simple but theses are major colonial social points. There was also the talk about the world before Kobol. Which is totally against Adama's reference to Kobol as the "motherworld" and statement in "Lost Planet of the gods" that human life began on Kobol. While Richard Hatch names another world where humans lived then the "kobollians" moved to kobol and then moved to the colonies and Earth. There is also the contradiction about the Cylons being part organic ie..the blood. Then he also states that the Cylons like the ones in the current BSG are transferred to a new body when they die. This contradicts the fact of electing new "IL's" to be the Imperious Leader when one gets killed. The part about the kobollian line and moving up to a new plane is pretty good though. It fits in with the story line of the original series.

Did Richard ever come out with that new book? Anything after that? Wasn't there something called "Redemption"?

I've just seen some of Richard's BSB novels in my the used book store where I live. I have asked them to put some aside for me. I know the owners. Looking forward to reading them.

I'm on the last one "Destiny". The entire series is VERY good. BSG:The Second Coming was taken from his books.
In case you're interested, here are the books in order:
Armageddeon Warhawk Resurrection Rebellion Paradis Destiny
I don't know if Richard put any more books out with this storyline, but it is well worth the read.

I think what happened is that Richard had the next novel ready to go but the publisher got killed or something like that and the book line was put on hold permanently. Don't ask me about it, I don't know anything more than this. He had mentioned something once about just putting the novel out on the internet but I don't think anything came of this.
I believe that Richard's novel series is over...
