Since we are talking about Episode III, let's talk about Episode1....
BESIDES JAR JAR.......What did/didn't you like about Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace?

Anakin.
Pod racing.
Trade Federation.
Threepio (or rather, what they showed us of his creation.)
On the other hand, I thought Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan were an effective and engaging double act. Not worth the whole film though, and it was a damn shame that Maul was so criminally underused/underwritten.

I for the most part liked Phantom Menace, although it doesn't even come close to comparing to the original three. (I can't wait until September 21!) I don't even mind Jar Jar, my daughter was 8 when it came out and he made her happy so I didn't complain.
What I didn't like...the pod racing scene was WAY too long and the play-by-play way too corny. Plus the senate C-Span scene was too long and BORING.
What I liked...Darth Maul, Qui-Gon, Ewan McGregor does a great Alec Guinness, and I love Ian McDiarmid and the whole Palpatine setup.

Definitely the worst of the lot. I can't even bring myself to come close to putting this in my DVD player!!!!
Complicated trade plot, Jar Jar and underusing Maul were the bad parts..

Anakin. Don't think I'll ever be able to buy him and Padme, because he was soooo young in Episode 1. The pod racing was too long. Definitely agree that Maul was underused. I did like Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and seeing a younger, though still old, Yoda was cool too. Logan

I am now collecting all of the Star Wars soundtracks. Just have Return of the Jedi left to get.
I just got The Phantom Menace soundtrack and it's not that bad, except for the final song where all the Gungans are celebrating at the end of the movie. Ugh...

When you say collecting "all" the soundtracks, do you mean for all five movies or are you talking about pre-special addition soundtracks as well? Especially on Jedi there are differences.
I recently found at the library an out-of-print collection that included the original music from 4-6, plus a 4th CD with different versions and music that didn't make it.
John Williams is my hero.
Yub nub!

I don't think I'm nuts enough to try and collect every soundtrack variation out there for all the Star Wars movies...
I am getting the 1997 Special Edition 2-CD releases for the original movies, I already have the Attack of the Clones CD when it came out and I just got the Phantom Menace CD...
I am working on the 2-CD set for Return of the Jedi now...

Brie, just did a quick search over at ebay and boy did I find the motherlode!!!
There are quite a few of those anthology sets that you were checking out at the library. They were released back in 1993 as a four-disc set. They included the original soundtracks of the three movies plus a fourth disc with outtakes and other versions of the music not used in the movies themselves.
The prices are not that bad, ranging from the mid-teens to up to $30 for the set...
I wonder if a lot of those outtakes and extras were featured on the 1997 Special Edition soundtracks that I've been getting? I might want to get one of those anthology sets, though. It looks pretty neat...
By the way, I just saw a listing over at starwars.com about a new trilogy set of music called the Star Wars Collector's Edition soundtrack!! I wonder what that's all about??
I can't find any more info about it though. I wonder if these are just new releases of the 1997 editions for the Special Special Editions of the movies that are going to be released on DVD on Sep. 21st??
