Ok, here's the question.
What is your favorite Science Fiction movie(s) and/or television show(s) and why?
Mine is the Star Wars Saga for movie(s) and for television I'd have to say either Stargate SG1 or Stargate Atlantis. It's a toss up between the two.

OK, I'll bite on this one.
For me it has always been:
Movie: Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back
TV: Battlestar Galactica

Ditto to Charybdis' comments for first place. Therefore, I had to think about second place.
On the TV side, Star Trek (combined incarnations) comes in second. Terminator and Alien would probably come in second and third among movies.

Movie: it would have A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back, whichever one I'm watching at the moment. (Sept 21, hurry up!)
TV: BSG, but in second place it would be either Stargate SG-1 or The Incredible Hulk. (I know, it's a comic book, not science fiction, but I love that show. Don't know why but I always have.) I haven't seen the Hulk movie, although I won the DVD from the Sci-Fi Channel. Maybe I'll just find Lou Ferrigno's scene.

Lets see... Fav Movie.... Have to go with Star Wars ANH.... with close ties with Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn and VI The Undiscoveried Country and rounding out the top .... the original Superman Movie with Chris Reeves... So Brie, yep, we can allow the Hulk... TV shows... Of all time would have to be the 1977 Battlestar Galactica, not the currently produce mini... With Classic Star Trek being a close second, followed by.... this could go on forever you know....Currently on TV sci-fi would have to be Stargate SG-1... oh.... Logan is trying to get me hooked on Farscape, so I might have to come back and edit this and add it in somewhere if she is sucessful Skyler

Ok, so ya know the tv show is Farscape for me (and not having to try too hard to get Skyler hooked! Cool aliens, cool costumes, lots of blowing stuff up...). Also, Star Trek:Deep Space Nine is ranked right up there too. Movie- Um, gotta agree with Skyler on ST:Undiscovered Country, mainly cause of the Klingons. Empire Strikes Back is also one of my favorites. I'll stop there, because this could go on for a while if I think about it too much. Logan

What? me chiming in on something?!!
Favorite movie at the moment is Resident Evil!!! I could watch it all day. And the sequel is out in a couple of weeks! yea!!!! But for scifi that is my favorite movie. Nothing like the undead to perk up my interest! Yeah pretty much anything with flesh eating zombies is my favorite. Does that make me abnormal or anything? Ha!
I love Farscape too!!! Another one with a sequel due soon!! Or an ending. Whatever you call it. More coming soon!! Galactica is great but there's just so few episodes. Bummer. I can't think of another universe I'd want to roleplay in though.
24 is another show I love, just to toss it in. And Eliza is great in Tru Calling!!!
Any Avril Lavigne fans out there at all? Just wondering.

;D Lets see...Talk about having to make a hard choice. Original Battlestar Galactica is a given for anyone I believe. ;D Then there is also Buck Rogers In The 25th Century. ;D TV wise I'd have to choose...Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, & Babylon 5. Movie wise I'd have to choose...Star Wars, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, E.T. I went to see the Hulk movie & didn't like it as well as the tv series.

Oops! I forgot one (thanks, Skyler!). My second favorite sf movie is actually 'ST II: The Wrath of Khan." While the movie was based on the encounter with Khan during the original series, the space battle also drew heavily from an episode called "Balance of Terror," which was one of my favorite episodes from the original series. That moves Terminator and Alien down a space each.
Amy, I like some of Avril Lavigne's songs, but I wouldn't call myself a big fan since she seems as if she's trying to portray herself as a rebel. I listened to the first half of what I believe was her first album yesterday for the first time in a long time. I enjoyed that album, but I don't like one of the songs I've heard from her most recent, so we haven't bought it for the kids.

Yeah Tony, I know what you mean about the rebel label with Avril. Turns out it pretty much is just that though, a label. I've been following her pretty close with this new CD, and she's unhappy with the media for the label cause she's not like that. I'd believed what I'd heard too and like most stuff you hear it's not true. Everyones' so quick to box people in. "She's a this" or "he's a that"... She tries to correct people but no one is listening it seems.
I love the new CD, and I think I know which song you are talking about that you don't like. "Don't Tell Me"? It's not the best song on the CD and I don't know why it was picked as the first single. Actually I don't know why I'm yakking so much about it, except that I LOVE the CD and I've played it through about a million times since it came out. I get the phones on and the bass tracks blow me away every time!!
What kind of bands/singers do you like? (Anybody can jump in!)
