A quick question that I'm sure someone here will be able to answer. What is the story behind General Grevious? I'm looking for more info than the basic description available at starwars.com. How did he end up part machine and part organic? What species is he originally from? Is his brain real or robotic? How did he end up with that cough?
Okay, so it's more than one question. I know that there's a lot about him in the Clone Wars cartoons, but I haven't seen those yet. One more question, is the Clone Wars worth the price of the DVD?
Thanks!

Please allow the Star Wars geek to answer..
First of all Grevious got the cough in the "Clone Wars" cartoon. What happened was Mace Windu force crushed Grevious' rib cage when he (Grevious) was trying to get away from the Jedi while kidnapping Palpatine.
The history of Grevious is touched on in the ROTS book, but goes more in depth in the book "Labyrinth Of Evil" by James Luceno. "That business on Cato Neimoidia doesn't count." -- Obi-Wan Kenobi SW EIII This is "that business." Grevious is 85% droid, his heart, lungs, brain, eyes and head are his. Dooku is the one that literally made Grevious the way he is. He made Grevious' body and trained him in the Jedi arts. Grevious' species is called Kaleesh. His home planet is Kalee. He was a general in the Huk War. He was disfigured in a shuttle crash. He was put in a bacta tank and an artificial body (not the one you see in the movie) where he was found by Dooku. Dooku had heard about Grevious and his reputation as a warrior. As I said, he recruited, and trained and built Grevious.
And yes, the Clone Wars cartoon is definitely worth the price. Volume 2 is the lead up to Episode III. Volume 1 covers chapters 1-20... Volume 2 covers Chapters 21 - 30.
Hope this clears any confusion up.

And if you REALLY wanted that info, just buy the Star Wars Ep. III Visual Dictionary. That series of books for the Star Wars saga is so interesting!!
I would also buy the Clone Wars DVD to complete the saga since the events that lead up to Ep. III are chronicled in the cartoon...

Scott, I knew that posting it here would be a lot easier and more informative than going to Google! Thanks.

Just my two cubits, Brie, but the Clone Wars are DEFINITELY worth the price of the DVD. I love them.
