I was reading an e-mail today from star wars.com, Homing Beacon #167. I selected something from the databank and on the side had a column with characters on it. I selected K-3PO and it had something quite interesting on it. As well as different aspects to K-3PO it had this: Manufacturer: Cybot Galactica I found it quite interesting to have any mention to Battlestar Galactica in it or maybe someones oversight. The link is below for anyone who wants a look. www.starwars.com/databank/droid/k3po/index.html

Yeah, I have always seen that reference about the Cybot Galactica. Not sure if it has any meaning to Battlestar Galactica or not. You would have to find reference material dating back to the original Star Wars to see if the Galactica name was there somewhere, since Star Wars was made before BSG...
no matter where you go, those two franchises seem stuck together, eh?

That's pretty neat, though I doubt that it's a reference to Battlestar Galactica since the term "Galactica" predates BG by a pretty good bit. The best example of which I'm aware is the "Encyclopedia Galactica" which was published by and supposedly the reason for the (first) Foundation in Isaac Asimov's original Foundation trilogy. The original books were written around the early 1950s, and there were a number of sequels and prequels by Mr. Asimov. Following his death, there have been at least three more from other authors. I loved the early books and liked most of the later ones, but got half way through the first of the final three and never finished it.

Funny you mention Isaac Asimov. He was hired as a consultant to a possible second season of BSG back in 1979! AND, one of the early books associated with BSG to be relased early in 1979 was the Encyclopedia Galactica which had all sorts of Colonial terminology, etc. about BSG!!!
