Against what I have said all along, that I would never watch the Ill Visioned new BSG, I regret to have to say I watched the Pilot yesterday.
MY ASSESSMENT/ OPINION
I have never seen a slower moving pilot episode in my life. I had to have a coffee every 15 minutes just to stay awake to watch it. The way I saw it it was just a Matrix Spinoff. Man creates machine, Man and machine work together, machines rebel and try destroy life as we know it.
As for the rest of it goes, I would get more enjoyment/excitement watching a documentary about life aboard an American Aircraft Carrier cause thats all it was except in space.
My kids have watched TOS and they loved it, but there is no way in hell I would let the see BSG 2003 with all the sexual overtures. Why was it needed? maybe cause it would keep people interested and not fall asleep.
As for weapons, in an all out battle the vipers would run out of ammo within minutes at the rate they were expended.
Oh and don't you just love how civilians are dressed just like modern Earth. I mean how unoriginal can you get. At least in TOS they put some thought into it.
I could go on for many pages about why it sucked, but I know it's not for me so I will be spending the weekend watching TOS to purge the other crap out of my mind......
Note.. This is just my opinion and feelings, no one elses..

Justin B......I salute you !!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't put it better myself! The pilot of the ....it shouldn't even be called what's it's been called (there's a very apt term, only for politeness of course, that I could call it) was indeed the biggest load of felgercarb I ever saw....it was an injury to our memory of a Legendary show. I only watched it to pick it to bits. I've stopped doing that now....why torture myself? Of course this is only my opion of it, which just happens to agree with yours Justin B! I, too, like you watch my Dvd set of the Battelstar Galactica (the original one) at any opportunity to continue the deep inspiration it gave me 28 yahrens ago. It's legend continues in places like here at the Callisto and all good BSG TOS Forums! VIVE LA BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!!

A friendly reminder...this is a subject on which we've all agreed to disagree. There are several long-time, valuable Callisto members who love the new series. So keep this topic friendly and respectful. If it turns into a battleground, like discussions about the new show usually do, the thread will be removed.
