I know that there are a number of people here who use Yahoo for their email. Has anyone else received a similar message to this one?
"Drae Yaoho! Meebmr,
We msut ckceh thta yuor Y!ooha ID was regietsred by rela plpoee. So, to hlep Yohao! prevent amotuated regisitartons, pelase ccilk on tihs likn and cmoplete cedo verificnoita pcoress"
and then it gives a link. I have a couple of different Yahoo accounts, but I've only received this on one, and it's happened twice so far. The return email address is my own. Something doesn't feel right about this to me. Anybody know if it's legit? If not, how do I report it?
Thanks!

Who wrote that? Someone who failed Hooked on Phonics? Terrible spelling if that's how the message was spelled....It doesn't sound legit to me.

I just got it again, that's three times in three days! I've reported it to Yahoo, but of course haven't heard anything back. I've used this account for over 5 years so I don't see why they would start to doubt that it's a real person now.
Has anyone received anything similar?

I've gotten some annoying identification pages when I've emailed more than one person at a time. It say's that it's to ensure that I'm not spamming, but all I have to do is type in that distorted code and hit enter.
Peace,

The weirdest thing about it is that the link isn't even a real link. When I've reported this to Yahoo and copied the whole message there are spaces in it, even in the yahoo.com part. And there's no code anywhere either.

That definitely sounds like a bunk email. I'd start labeling them as spam and maybe Yahoo will finally take notice. They have become such a joke since they started catering to big business. The people who actually use their system are forgotten and that will be their undoing eventually. I know I'll move if I ever find a comparable free system.
Peace,
Kat

My email hasn't been working right either. After I fill in my password and sign in, all I get is a blank screen. Apparently it's been going on since last week since it was doing the same thing then. Anyone else see this problem? Maybe I'm getting the message too but my firewall is blocking it or something?

I asked my sister about this. (She's engaged to a guy who writes the $45, heavy computer books, and she herself knows a lot about viruses and the terrible stuff people will do in the name of "fun") and here's what she had to say:
"Whatever you do, don't click that link! You're right that it's not legit. You keep getting it either because someone with your Yahoo address in their address book has a virus that's programmed to send this out or your address is on some spam list somewhere and the phishers just keep spamming the whole list each day. You've reported it, so the best thing to do is delete and ignore from here on out."
So if anyone gets something similar, report it and delete it.
