As some of you know, I am a long-time member of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion Star Wars costuming groups. I can now announce that there is going to be a similar club geared toward our beloved original Battlestar Galactica! It is called "Blackstar Squadron." The group is founded by several members who are also very involved with the 501st and the Rebel Legion, one of whom was a founder of the RL and the former Legion CO of the group. It will be a place designed to help anyone get in touch with vendors who sell BSG items/clothing/props, etc. and to join a club with people who love the old show and who want to costume it as well. I am a proud member of the group as well....and Col Charybdis gave me ALLOT of help getting my uniform together.....if you are seriously interested in classic BSG costuming, it is allot of fun and very rewarding to finally wear that warrior uniform

I have the interest, just probably not the funds! haha The Warrior costume has been my dream costume since the beginning of my costuming life. I'll take a look at the group.

So how active is this group? It has been two days since I signed up and my account is still not approved.

as for the funds issue, we're working on getting some patterns made for the costumes, so people might be able to "do it yourself". We have also just posted some fabric links. |

Here is a pic of a few Blackstar members who just met at DragonCon! Oh, we also had a very special guest jump into the pic with us!!!!  On the far left is Bouri, I am next to Dirk in my bridge uniform and the two on the far right are Karyn and Clanger, Blackstar members. The other two guys are BSG costumers and we will see if we can get them into the group as well. |
