Hi everyone,
just wanted to let you all know that after a couple of years of taking a break, I have finally begun work on a couple of new Battlestar Callisto mini-eps!
The story I'm working on will introduce a new character that will torment the fleet. I am working on some visual upgrades that I hope will help me tell the story of the Callisto and her voyage...
I hope to begin filming in May and to have it ready by early June at the latest...

Well, several years ago I wanted to set out to actually film some fan fiction stories about Battlestar because there were none that involved live action shots. I hit on the idea to film what I call 'mini-episodes.' They last only around 5 minutes long and intercut my live action footage along with the original series special effects, etc. but creating my own stories along the way. I have filmed four of the shorts and three of them can be seen at this site: www.battlestarfanfilms.com/fanfilms.htmThis place has the largest collection of all BSG fan films on the net...scroll down to the very bottom and you'll find my four episodes. Unfortunately, the last one is not working right now. They had also been put up on Youtube for a couple of years, but they have been taken down now. I guess because someone saw that I use actual BSG show footage in them and I guess they didn't want a copyright problem... |

Well, the script is all but finished for mini-ep #5 (and believe it or not, I have also begun script #6 as well) and I just shot some test footage in the studio today. I will be taking it home to play with it and see if I can actually do some of the things I want to do!
Very busy with school right now. The semester ends in about two more weeks and then I can get to work filming this thing during my off time!!!
I'll update as I go along...

Filming for episode #5 is slated for this coming week!! It will be a small shoot involving only my wife and myself for this one...
as for episode #6, shooting is tentatively slated for the last weekend of July.
Not only that, but I now have possibly two more mini-ep projects that I am fleshing out ideas for! This might be a busy year!!!

Update! We shot some footage last night and it went well. One of the shots involved my wife playing Annie again (yes, she was the star of the Ensign Annie episode).
I still have some more footage to shoot but it probably wont be until next week, if I can get to it then.
I also had some still pics taken during the shoot. I will try to post a couple as soon as I get them uploaded!

The first film session went well...it's going to work! Unfortunately, some of the footage cannot be used due to audio and camera issues, but I will be re-shooting those scenes along with other shots hopefully next week...
I have also gotten commitments from Rick (bouri-plwel) and Cher (she's the former CO of the Carolina Garrison and a big BSG fan) to star in the next mini-ep!
