The story has jumped into high gear and there is much going on. For those new to the RPG or coming back after an absence, read the Launch, The Mission Begins and The Return threads to catch yourselves back up.
Also, if you don't remember where your character was, go to your profile and click on your last posts section. That will give you where you were and what you were doing. You don't have to continue from there though. You can always make a post giving a summary of what you've been doing since that time, especially if it was long ago and the story has moved on since then.
There is plenty going on and room for everyone. If you have any ideas for your character and are unsure, just let me or Skyler know and we'll try to help ease you back in to things.

And around the same time that Brie was presumed dead, Amy also disappeared without a trace. We were all set to go and search for her before Kalten turned up.
Oh and Logan is being stalked by her old nemesis Comeek.

Not meaning to sound rude or anything, but the best way to get caught up isn't by writing quick plot recaps, but to go back and read the posts. (People have written these for a reason, not so that they can be ignored and then asked for a summary.) In a quick recap something important will be missed that could change the entire story. Take an hour and read the actual posts if you want to get involved again. And, if you're looking to come back, please make sure you have the time. Nothing hurts the story more than someone getting involved for a few weeks and then disappearing.
Again, I'm not trying to be rude, please don't take it that way.

One more thing if your character is coming back after an absense...don't worry too much about explaining away where your character has been. There would have been lots of normal things happening, routine patrols, card games, down time, security detail...whatever. There doesn't have to be a huge explaination for your absense, unless you have a great story idea in mind.

I agree, what Charybdis and Logan posted is a down and dirty recap that touches on the highlights of the current story. A re-cap or even a summary would leave so much out. Plus someone may read the post and be inspired to add to the current plot with a twist that hadn't been thought of, and may never of have been thought of with a re-cap not touching on that one detail that ignited the spark.

Yeah, that's why I suggested everyone wanting to join back in reread the threads. You don't have to read every thread ever posted, but the three I mentioned in my top post has the meat of what we are currently dealing with.
And generally, when we have a major storyline going we all keep in touch via PM and/or email so we are all on the same page. With only a couple of people posting regularly, we haven't had to do this lately. I don't like spelling out outlines in detail on the boards because there is no surprise for those who aren't participating, but only reading.

Just adding my two cents...
Just being away for a week or so, I'm reading through ALL of the posts since my last visit.
I actually find it enjoyable and relaxing (not to mention HIGHLY entertaining) to catch up. ENJOY!

The "Launch!" thread is now called "39A-Time travel story begins". I hope this didn't confuse things more for everyone. I agree though. Every poster here is so talented and nobody posts anything that they'd like to see ignored. It's a cumulative story and unless you read the story you can't really know what's going on or have a clue what to add. Just think of it this way. You are thinking of joining in, trying to come up with something good to add. You want people to read what you put up, don't you? It is so cool to see this level of interest again! Keep it up! Amy

Well, since my idea came up against a solid brick wall, I am deleting my post. Forget I ever mentioned anything of the sort...

Al, I liked your snyopsis of the story so far, it gave enough detail to get the interest going without someone having to read the entire story or someone to tell someone the entire story. Its like someone starting to read a book series, and I use Harry Potter as an example since it is a series I have read that most people can relate to it as a building storyline arch.
My friends all told me I had to read Harry Potter. I didn't understand the hype, but was interested in the description of the basic story, so I found book one at the library and read it, I was hooked. If I had been giving a detailed sumary of book one, two etc so I would know what was going on with book three, which was the book that had just been released when I started the series, I wouldn't of have gotten nearly as much out of it and wouldn't of have enjoyed it as much. I also don't think I would of have been hooked on the series.
Also, going back to your original idea, if someone wanted to join and get right into the action, all they have to do is ask where they can fit into the story now, and we will always find a place for them to jump in. Always have.. They get a basic run down on what is going on at that moment in the story and we answer questions as best we can to get them into the story, including a brief run down on the major plot lines in the story, in this case, We have found a rift in space that could allow us to travel back to the Colonies prior to the attack on the Colonies, etc.... That way they can join the action right now and read the rest as they get time.
