Thought it might be fun. This doesn't try to start a storyline or anything, just a snapshot of our characters at this moment. If you wanna....
* * *
Captain Amy awoke with a start as the alert bells cut loudly through the stillness of sleep period. She was on her feet immediately, feet in shock as they hit the cold floor.
In two strides she was at her locker, pulling on her uniform. She paused only at the end, catching a glimpse of herself as she pushed her arms through the sleeves of her warrior's jacket. Of all the things she could put on to protect herself, somehow just a mere jacket made her feel invincible....
She was out the door in time to catch one of the trolleys as they sped by, carrying warriors to the launch bay. She squeezed onto one, and stood with the others as the cart rumbled along it's track, emerging from the darkened tunnel into the light of the bay.
She raced with the other pilots toward the row of vipers, taking the steps two at a time and taking her helmet from the flight deck tech as she stepped into the cockpit. It was only as the canopy closed around her that things suddenly grew silent as the alert bells and the noise from the bay were cut off from her.
She hit her three engine buttons, watching them light up as she touched them. She could feel the vibrations as the engines came to life. And then, she waited for the signal to launch.
It was at these times that her mind wandered, and like all the other times she thought about people she'd lost along the way. Najinn. Marcus. Mara Jade. Artus. Countless others that had come and gone. She known them, then watched them leave her behind like she hadn't really known them at all.... So many friends, so much she wished she'd done differently when she had the chance.
She looked left down the row of vipers and was surprised to see Najinn wave back at her. Her heart jumped and she leaned forward to look past him at the next viper. Was that who she thought it was? How? She hit her com to speak to Marcus, but nothing happened. Her canopy wouldn't open either and she struck at the button over and over.
Suddenly she was aware of Charybdis next to her. He was trying to say something, but she couldn't hear. She concentrated hard on his lips, trying to make out what he was saying. And then it cut through, clear as anything.
"Wake up" he was saying.
She half sat up and gasped as her eyes opened. All around was darkness. Charybdis was on one elbow beside her, holding her hands in his. She flopped back heavy on the pillow.
"Another dream?" Charybdis asked as he gently stroked the side of her face.
She nodded. "Yeah..."
"Going to tell me about it this time?" he asked hopefully.
Amy just scooched a little closer to him, taking one of his arms and pulling it across her. She held it close, feeling the warmth of him next to her. She felt him get comfortable next to her again, and her eyes began to flutter as she fell back into sleep....
(Al, Charybdis doesn't have to start out in bed, unless... ha!)

Brie sat on the bridge of the Intimidator, thinking. She thought that she was alone and did not hear Turner come up behind her. She jumped at the sound of his voice. "It's a beautiful day outside."
Slowly Brie nodded her head. "It probably is. But you know me, I'm not a big fan of planets."
Turner sat down next to his wife. "I'm sure he's okay."
Brie didn't have to wonder who Turner was talking about. Caden was their 14 year old son and they had left him with the fleet when the Intimidator left to draw the Cylons away from the remnant of the human race. Besides giving her newborn daughter up for an off-the-records adoption it had been the hardest thing that Brie had ever done. "I bet he's grown."
"He probably has half the girls in love with him by now. Given his genetics and all."
Brie grinned and shot her husband a playful glance. "Nah, you're his father, not Starbuck." She sighed. "You think we'll ever see him again?"
It always turned into the same conversation. "I know we will." Turner reached over and took Brie's hand. Besides missing their son life was fairly easy at the moment. They had found a planet with a good atmosphere and plenty of food. The skeleton crew that had led the Cylons away still lived inside the ship, although most spent their days exploring the beautiful planet. Brie was the only one who preferred to stay inside most of the time. "We'll find fuel, then we'll rejoin the fleet. Have faith, my love."
Brie squeezed Turner's hand. "At least we have each other. I don't know what I would do if I ever lost you. Most likely I'd go insane."
It was Turner's turn to smile. "You'll never lose me. I'm the type that will never die."

Amy's body was a bit tense as I held her. Then, suddenly I felt her go limp...she was asleep again. I looked at her silhouette against the faint starlight coming in through the window next to the bed...she was so beautiful.
All these yahrens and she never could quite gather the strength to actually go through the sealing ceremony with me, yet, here she was in my arms, close, together, sharing ourselves fully...we loved each other and I guess, in the end, that's all that matters...
I smiled briefly as I closed my eyes and fell asleep with Amy in my arms...

Logan stood up to wipe a bead of sweat off her forehead with the crook of her arm before squatting back down to get a better view of her Viper's underbelly. The tech who was laid out underneath was all grease and turbo fluids to his elbows, spotted jumpsuit filthy with the leaking fluids of the ship. The access panel blocked her view of the man's face and she sighed loudly. "Not long now, Captain!" came the reply to her unvoiced question.
She remained perched on the balls of her feet and removed her jacket, not even glancing in the direction she threw it, knowing it would land on the equipment cart just off the wing. She seemed to have perfected her ability to gauge the distance without looking over the past week. "I know Greeny. I know. Are you sure I can't help you?" She could feel her fingers itching to do something, anything, to get her back out in the black.
Ever since they had come back through the wormhole, the techs could barely keep up with repairs. It seemed that traversing a wormhole into the past and back again had wreaked havoc on their ships' internal guidance systems. Logan had discovered her own ship was particularly upset about it and had forced her to remain grounded far longer than she liked. And far longer than Greeny liked as well. She knew that hovering over him this way only made him nervous. She didn't begrudge him that. Having a Colonial Warrior watch your every move could be daunting. Having this particular one doing it could shake your resolve beyond normal limits.
"Why don't you leave the man alone and let him get his work done? Frowning down at him like that isn't going to shorten repair time."
Logan felt the ache in her shoulders ease a fraction upon hearing Hush's joking tone. She turned her head to find him leaning against the Viper looking perturbed. If you could call it that. Sometimes it was still hard to tell what emotions were running through him. But there was a slight crease in his forehead that gave it away.
She stood, wiping her hands on her pants and retying her ponytail. "Anything?"
He shook his head.
They had been looking for the missing members of the Fleet ever since returning through the wormhole. Sheba was fit to be tied and Apollo had stationed Starbuck temporarily on the Callisto to better coordinate their search efforts. Since Logans' Viper had been out of commission so often, she had become a sort of assistant to Apollo's right hand man. Which neither of them was happy about. Logan found Starbuck to be a great pyramid opponent, but their personalities clashed in other areas. Hush said it was because they were too much alike. Logan didn't see it.
"Did you come the whole way over here just to give me the good news or because you missed my company?" She couldn't resist baiting him.
Hush shook his head and gave a rare smile...which Logan knew meant trouble. "Starbuck is looking for you."
Logan rolled her eyes. "Lords of Kobol, give me strength."

Edan secured the recharge element into his laser and took a firing stance once again. With little effort he lined up the sight on the laser pistol and began firing. and kept firing. the Rapid fire drill was one he'd always been good at. The targets set down range exploded one after another.
It took some doing, but Edan soon felt the low power indicator in his laser and stopped firing. all the targetrs were hit and then some.
"Not bad Lt Edan. I wish all the warriors took target practice as serious as you do." the Range officer said as he handed replacement recharge cylinders to Edan.
"Thanks, how did you end up with overnight duty here? not that I mind. I prefer coming here when it's empty."
"Volunteered. get some rest when noone comes in, and practice myself."
holstering his freshly loaded laser, and making sure his spare packs are in place, Edan left. He had no destination, just wondering now. He probably should have went back to the squad bay, and gotten some rest, but he wasn't ready to settle down.
He was still trying to get comfortible with conflicting thoughts. memories, not thoughts. 2 seperate histories. 2 paths that both led to the same destination. The here and now. Even his Rank was due to the "new" memories. The time with Black Squadron gained him a promotion. one he can't say he particularly remembers.
His head was starting to hurt again. as it did alot lately. Maybe there wasn't anything he could do about the past, or pasts, but the future was still open. Commander Adama always looked to the Future. he concentrated on it. That's how the Fleet survived when he was younger. And Adama was right, whatever the past, whatever was true about these memories didn't matter as much as what he could do to make the Future a better one.
So enough about the past, here was to the future.

Skyler looked in the doorway at the sleeping teenager, Brie’s 14 yarhen old son Caden. He had no real memory of Caden before their return from the jump, but there he was when the Battlestar’s rejoined the Fleet, ran right up to ‘Uncle Sklyer’ upon laying eyes on him. There was a question of where to place him, with Brie missing. None of the options Skyler liked, so he convinced Sheba to let Caden stay with him, after all, he was his ‘Uncle’. He hoped Brie would approve. Brik and the rest of the Squadron that had known Brie the best and Doc. Bkj helped keep an eye on him when Skyler was on duty. With all the things that had changed during the jump, altered memories and things that shouldn’t be, or should be that wasn’t, no one was sure of anything for the first few cycles. It however, didn’t take a few micron’s and Skyler felt he had known Caden his whole life, he was too much like Brie, and he also guessed Turner. A man he couldn’t recall ever meeting, but again, felt he knew. “We will find your mother Caden, I do not know when, but we will, or I will die trying. That is my promise to you.” Skyler barely whispered. He had already spent every free moment pouring over the data tapes of the Intimidator’s jump and the star charts. Searches had been conducted and found nothing, but he felt deep down, one cycle they would be found. A soft knock at his door brought his attention back. It was Sheba, she usually stopped by to check on Caden on her way to her quarters, and she always knocked, just in case Caden, or on the rare instance Skyler was sleeping. He opened the door and found Sheba smiling at him. “So Major, how is your young charge doing tonight?” Skyler motioned her inside, but she just shook her head. “He had a huge meal and is sleeping well.” Skyler paused “Missing his parents, but otherwise, he is taking it all in stride.” Sheba smiled, “How about you Skyler, how are you doing? It looks like you haven’t been sleeping much.” “I am getting enough, more than I used to get in the Colonial Infantry.” He tried making a joke. “Yes Skyler, but that was over Twenty yarhens ago, back when you were a young man, you need more rest now.” She smiled at him. “Yes Ma’am” Skyler stressing the Ma’am to remind her that she was older then he was. “I also checked, and Kellie is not opposed to a transfer out of your Squadron.” Sheba changed the subject. “I do not know how I would handle it if my memories were so different in this new reality.” “I have Caden to keep my mind off of it. Another set of memories that are 180 degrees from my reality. Other than a few close friends, my entire life, the memories I have of almost my entire life are, well, I don’t know. It’s like someone is writing a story and they decided to shake things up and change everything I loved and take it away from me. I am still a Warrior, something I love also, and I still have you and most of my friends, so I guess it is not so bad. Brie and Kellie, the two things I would give this all up for are gone, forever. Brie has Turner and now Caden, so once we find her and she has Caden back, she will be happy… and I will be happy for her. Kellie, she has nothing but hate for me. Her looks, when I catch her looking at me are icy stares. I didn’t even feel hatred like I feel from her from Pearce or his followers. The sad part, even after researching it, I am not sure what I did to deserve it. No one I ask knows, other than her father dying and it is mine and Logan’s fault. Even Logan doesn’t have a clue….” “I am not going to say it will be ok, because I do not know how it will be. We will do all we can to find Brie and the rest, that is for sure. You also know that if you need someone to talk to, I am always here, as a friend, not as a commander. You know that.” Sheba took Skyler’s hand and squeezed it and he just half smiled. “I know Sheba, and thanks for all you have done already” Skyler squeezed her hand back as she pulled awayk and headed to her quarters, Skyler watching her leave before shutting the door and picking up tomorrow’s duty roster.

Logan started to walk past him but Hush put a hand on her shoulder to stop her. His hand slid down her arm until he held her hand in his. He brought the other one up to brush her cheek.
"Truth is" he said, "I do miss your company. Very much." He looked both ways a moment, then ran his hand along her hair. When he got to her ponytail, he pulled the tie out. "And I always liked your hair better without this." He smiled, twirling the band around his finger....

Skyler banked his Viper, passing over the Galactica headed to sweep the outer edge of the Fleet. It was a routine Combat Patrol of the Fleet. “Core Command to Patrol Flight One, we have in bound Raiders bearing 320 mark 51.” “Patrol One copies, moving to intercept” Skyler answered back… So much for routine as he adjusted his course and engaged the thrusters and the Viper slipped through the black headed to stop the attack on the Fleet. He pulled back on the navi-hilt and the Rising Star passed underneath his fighter as his attack computer picked up the three Raiders in a Delta pattern as they lined up to make their first run on two of the slower moving ships. The Vipers superior speed would get him there microns before they would be able to fire a single shot, but he was still too far to have a visual on the attackers. “Blue Leader to Core Command, Blue Squadron has launched” Skyler head the traffic on his speakers as Galactica launched her Fighters. Before Core Command could answer back Skyler cut thru the radio traffic. “Patrol Craft One to Core Command, the Raiders are paired up, I have visual on SIX Raiders, repeat SIX Raiders, I need assistance here now. They are flying close together and only give off one scanner blip per two ships.” “Blue Leader copies Skyler, Boomer is headed your way, you have to hold them as best you can until then.” “Copy Blue Leader, turbo lasers are hot, moving to engage” Skyler flipped the com channel to talk to his wing “Logan, we are on our own, it will be at least 3 or 4 centons before Boomer can get here.” The Raiders were lined up on the Colonial Movers and bearing down fast. Skyler targeted the first pair of Raiders and opened fire before his computer had a lock. He was hoping it would turn them away. It worked, but he also picked up the attention of the trailer two Raiders. Skyler pulled his Viper around and headed straight at them, lasers painted the starry sky crimson with laser bolts. He scored one hit and the Raider erupted into a fire ball and vanished from existence. The other Raiders broke apart and Skyler picked the closest and fell in behind it, his computer bracketing the Raider until it had him locked and he too was destroyed. Logan had vaped one of her Raiders and had the second on the run, but one of Skyler’s four had fallen in behind her and was taking shots and coming close. Skyler pulled over, his scanner locating his lost Raider as he headed to help Logan. The Raider had been so intent on destroying the Viper in Front of him he never saw Skyler fall in behind him or the laser blast the punched through his engines blinking them from existence, but not before Logan had been hit, her high engine blackened by the laser bolt. “Skyler the Raiders have split up, yours is heading towards the Agro ship, mine towards the Freighter Orion.” Skyler checked his scanners too… Boomer and the rest were still two centons out; the Raiders would be to their targets will before then. The Raider heading to the Agro Ship would be there in microns, at full battle thruster Skyler might just make it. The Freighter had a centon to spare.
“Logan head towards the Orion, I will take the Agro ship” as Skyler’s viper sliced thru the black headed to cut the Raider off, the thrust trail looking like the tail on a comet as he closed the distance between the Raider and his Viper trying to beat it to the Agro Ship. One hit on the fragile dome and the fleet would be lost. Starvation would take them in a matter of Sectars. His scanner counted down the distance, finally firing range, his laser lashed out, he scored minor hits on the Raider, the distance so extreme it did only minor damage to its thin armored hull, but at full thrusters he was closing fast and then he scored the hit he needed and the Raider’s engines died and she went a drift. The next volley of fired sent it into a thousand pieces of space dust. Skyler didn’t wait to see his handy work; for once he saw the explosion begin he turned his Viper and put his foot in the thrusters to try to get to the Raider heading to the Orion. Logan had a damaged Viper and her chances of stopping it were slim. Entering calculations on his knee board he knew he would never make it, and Blue Squadron was miss it by microns as well. He was right, the Raider made one pass on the old Freighter before flying head first into Blue Squadron. The Damage was light, but she was still hit. He hoped no one was hurt. Landing on the Galacticia Skyler checked on Logan. She was fine, but her ship had been hit pretty good. The headed to Blue Squadron’s briefing room to get debriefed before returning to duty, that’s when they both saw Kellie, the look on her face, they knew it was bad. “Father is dead Logan.” Kellie said looking at her sister. “He was on an Civilian inspection team checking the Orion’s storage compartments for possible expansion to carry more passangers and that Raider punched a hole in the hull. He was sucked into space.” Turning to Skyler “Why the frack didn’t you stop that Raider, you stopped the rest of them, but not that one. You let him die. I will never forgive you….” Skyler jumped awake, rubbing his eyes…. “You ok Uncle Skyler?” Caden asked him from the doorway. Skyler sat up on the couch. “Yeah Caden, just a bad dream…. I hope…”
