Just saw this over at the main 501st Legion boards. It's about time they recognized Richard for his exploits in the science fiction genre!

Okay, that's really cool. Great picture as well. Doesn't he ever get older?

Nope. He still looks exactly like he did back in 1999 when I first saw him in person!

Richard comes through a lot in Dallas, and it has been great to see him. Most of the time he willing to tell a story or chat for a bit. I mean how cool is that? One thing I like about Richard is that he successfully came across to me as a regular guy. What is fun about that to me is by finding that common level, he seemed to look at me at one Tulsa event when he was toating the Galactica he was working to promote in the late 90's and seemed to say "Wouldn't it be great to come along this journey?" It was at that time the Jubal character was created. A character for adventures going forward, an archivist, (need to find the Egyptian or Mayan equivalent for "Bard"). Always been a fan of the Irish bards and based on the traditions and the way mankind was for centuries* figured the colonials would have them as well. Warrior archivists. Someone interested in Colonials legends and songs. Which brings me back to Richard, he told me one at a convention he used to work at the rennessance faires as a juggler and tight rope walker is what I believe he said. Amazing. And now he joins the 501st? That is just awesome. I think how he and Anne Lockhart have gotten involved with various clubs is just great. When it comes to Richard I have often felt he is just a much a fan of some of the things we like as we do. Maybe that is something I will ask him sometime. Have you ever had anything you were just as much a fan of as we are of Galactica? Nah! But he is a lot of fun. But then again all the Galactica cast I have met are a lot of fun. *I looked to see the Battlestar term for century and didn't find it. Oh well, sometimes the Galactica terminology is fun to use.

Richard is a great guy, and I am VERY happy to see a Warrior there!! Blackstar Squadron (the Classic BSG costuming group, like the 501st) has inducted Richard as well.
Jubal, I'd love to hear more about your character, Edan, My Character, is also based in Celtic lore. It's the fault of my Irish background lol.
