For those who are members of Colonial Fleets, this was posted: www.colonialfleets.com/forums/showthread.php?p=311323#post311323If you can't get in to that forum, they said that inside the package for the nu-BSG Blood and Chrome movie, there was a flyer with the artwork for the classic BSG on blu-ray!!! No date given but it looks like it will be this year some time...it was only for Saga of a Star World, not the entire series. But if this sells well, who knows? The entire series could be coming at some point in the future... yippee!

I am excited, even if it is for the 2 hour cut of Saga. I think we all have to mobilize and buy this thing out. And force Universal to release the Entire series.
As discussed on the RPF, there is going to have to be some work done to help the Special Effects stand up to the higher definition of BluRay tech. If would even be open to a "special Edition" version as long as a restored Version with the original restored Secial effects is included.

While I think it's great news, I won't be getting it. We have the series on DVD, the theatrical movie on DVD and all the video tapes. We don't have a blu-ray player and I'm not rushing out to get one because of this. I'm tired of all the new formats and stuff. I don't watch tv much anymore, we don't even have a high definition set. When our old tv died we bought a new one from Goodwill for 20 bucks.

Just have to say from this message... -Cool on the blue ray of Blood and Chrome. Not a reimagined fan, but Blood and Chrome... LOVED! -Cool on the blue ray of Saga of Star World. I was not a big fan of blue ray, and in truth, still not. I am one that waits till technology comes to me, and this year, finally, a blue ray player came to be at the right price from a pawn shop. ($30). So I might get this on blue ray... for the right price. But like the rest of you, I have the DVD box set of Classic BSG and G80, so, fairly content. Still.... Saga of Star World... on a high definition LCD (something I picked up while in Kuwait... for the right price), in Blue Ray? Man that could be fun.

Hey, if something new makes people give their "old" HDTVs to Goodwill then I'm all for new technology! That's the only way we're going to upgrade...
And I'd grab a blu-ray player for $30. What a deal.

Only way this Blu-ray will be worth it is if they improve the vFX. It just wasn't produced for this kind of resolution. If they rework it, not even change it just re render it, then this will sell very well.
I just fear a direct transfer that will show all the model stands and compositing lines.
