Logan shifted restlessly on the bed in the medlab, eyes closed still. Brik had stopped in on his way back to the launch bay after talking with Skyler in the duty room. Major Skyler had seemed distracted, but with all that was going on it wasn't surprising. Hawke was still missing, Brie had turned up alive and was facing negligence charges this very micron and he was concerned about Lt. Logan who still hadn't regained consciousness. Brik got the feeling that there was a lot more to Skyler's concern over Logan than that of a CO for a fellow Warrior, but he didn't pry into other people's personal business. What he would do was check in on Logan's condition for Skyler as his friend had asked of him. There had been no change in Logan's condition since he and Ike had brought her to the medlab. The doctor was flummoxed by the fact that she was still out of it as her head wound had been minor and there was no further evidence of internal injuries. So it was a waiting game at this point. Brik was struck by one obvious difference as he crossed the medlab to talk to the tech on duty- Lt. Wraith wasn't here. He had hardly left Logan's side and would only leave her when on duty. He was glad to hear from the med tech that Ike had talked his friend into going back to his bunk for some rest. Brik didn't know what exactly was between Wraith and Logan either, but he had only recently met them both. Brik and the med tech both turned sharply as they heard Logan suddenly cry out.
Shadow. All she saw was shadow.'If there are shadows, where's the light source?," Logan thought, turning her head to locate something familiar. She was surrounded by darkness, dirt beneath her feet. "Ok, Logan. What in the name of the Lords of Kobol have you gotten yourself into now?,"she muttered to herself. There were voices in the distance, cries of surprise and...laser fire. Someone was in trouble here. She started toward the sounds of battle, drawing her blaster as she went. As she neared the sounds of battle, her surroundings began to become more familiar. There were dwellings, farmland, personal transports that were burned out and abandoned. Logan knew where she was the instant she saw the house burning, people running and screaming as Cylon raiders buzzed overhead laying down their destructive force indiscriminately. "This is insane," Logan's mind raced, "I wasn't here! I can't be here!" As she stood, transfixed by the scene she knew she couldn't be witnessing, a Cylon ship bore down on the house already ablaze and tore through it with more fire just as two figures attempted to escape through a breach in the wall, one older male carrying the limp form of a woman in his arms. They were almost clear...almost. "NO!," Logan screamed as she bolted upright in the medlab bed, completely awake, tears streaming down her face.

Ike could not sleep. He had asked for something to help him while in medlab, took it, and just quite possibly willed himself to resist the aid. Yet it did seem to give a moment or two where reality slipped into abyss, then flashes of replays of the most recent events and action crossed his mind.
Wraith was out. He was exhausted mentally and physically. It took everything Ike had to pry the man from Logan's side. Good thing Brik had encouraged that he take a centon or two for rest... finally. Ike glanced over to his friend's bunk to find him sleeping... at last. That gave Ike some assurance.
A transfer to the Callisto from the Galactica. He thought how this was to be a positive move. Now Logan is in medlab, Wraith lays torn inside, and even the Squadron CO is facing a tribunal! "For Sagan's sake!"
Then there was that warm, seemingly light, hum of the ship. That sound. That slight vibration. The feeling of security and safety that a home gives. Those who are space-hardened know it to be like rain on a metal roof. Ease... Sleep....
Then... Ike heard running steps! He dared not to even open his eyes as the door opened.
It was Brik... "Wraith! Medlab! Now!"
Ike sprang to his feet, still fully clothed, as was Wraith. Brik said nothing more, but helped Wraith to his feet as he gave a determined force of motion towards the corridor.

"Med-lab?!"...thought Wraith, still groggy from heavy sleep brought on by sheer exhaustion. The urgency in Brik's voice, however, snapped him to a fully alert state.
He joined Ike. racing intently down the corridor.
As they neared med-lab, Wraith pondered what the emergency might be.
"She was showing signs of regaining consciousness, and her condition was stable; not to mention the fact that she's under excellent care..." he looked at his friend Ike, who returned his concerned gaze. "what could possibly be wrong?"
"Well..." Ike replied, "We're almost there, Wraith...we'll find out soon.

Brik was still getting to know these two, Wraith and Ike...but he liked them a lot, in large part because of the way they seemed to truly understand how friendship works...he just hoped to all the gods that this change in Logan's condition would be GOOD news! "I don't really know," Brik gasped as they hurried down the corridor, "but I think that you may be needed!"
Please, let there be good fortune . . .

Logan was aware of Lt. Brik racing out of the medlab, as the medtech raced to her side, panic on his face, yelling over his shoulder for another tech to find the doctor. She allowed the tech to push her back to a reclined position as she attempted to orient herself to her surroundings. The dream had shaken her. It had been a long time since she'd had nightmares about what had happened to her family. But it could have been worse. The dream that always did the most damage was the one about her sister. She could remember waking up in a cold sweat, shaking, afraid to go back to sleep, never feeling more alone, even when Wraith had been laying beside her, his arms wrapped around her protectively as she cried. She had been running from guilt for so long now, it seemed like a part of her. The doctor was running scans, mumbling to herself,"Never seen anything like it...Holy frack! Completely normal....can't be, just doesn't make sense." She shook her head in amazement. "How do you feel, Lt.?" Logan did a mental inventory and realized other than being a little shaken, she felt fine. "I'm fine. What happened?" A stern voice from the doorway , "You tried to take on a Base Ship pretty much singlehandedly in the most foolhardy, reckless and insane stunt that I've ever seen!", Ike said as he broke into a wide grin. "I've never been prouder." Standing in the doorway beside Ike was Lt. Brik, a little out of breath, but with relief now etched on his features at seeing Logan awake and seemingly healthy. Brik moved to the side to allow another person entrance to the room and Logan's heart skipped a beat. "Wraith,"she said softly. She had never been more glad to see him in her life, she thought to herself, as he rushed to her side and took her in his arms in a crushing embrace.

Praise the Gods...Wraith was overcome with elation and relief; relieved that she was back again, awake...whole again; elated to have her back in his arms, embracing her tightly, knowing that finally, she felt his embrace and knew he was there for her.
"By the Lords of Kobol..." he trailed off, fighting back emotion as he nonetheless tightened his arms around her. He continued...his voice breaking:
"Are you quite done giving everyone ulcers and gray hair, sweetheart?" He could detect the faintest sound of chuckling coming from his friends in the doorway as he attempted to inject this emotional moment with a little tension-breaking levity. It seemed to be working; he could sense even Logan's spirits lifting to a faint laughter.
"Glad to have you back." he continued, wiping moist eyes on her shoulder..."Don't ever leave us again, okay?"
The sincerity in his words struck home; the joy in her heart caused laughter to well up through her tears.
Wraith could wait no longer. He lifted her face, cradling it gently in his hands and drew close to her in a lingering, long-awaited kiss.
She was back again... She was home.

"Come on Ike...there's a LOT going on but our prescence won't make any difference one way or another. I believe that I owe you some cookies, my friend!" With that, Brik walked down the corridor hoping that Ike was following. Wraith and Logan needed some time alone and he needed some downtime! As an almost-afterthought he walked over to the wall-mounted intercomm and called for Skyler. He knew that the Major would want to hear the good news of Logan's return to consciousness...and maybe he could be talked into some cookies as well.

"No worries, Brik. Got your wing on this 'milk and cookies' run, too, that you've been promising for some time now!" Ike, as had Wraith and Logan, saw plenty of action aboard the Galactica... but nothing like the charge that these Gold Squadron warriors (and now with Brik) made against that basestar... past-tense stressed. "You know, Brik... the gods must truly be with us after all if we survived that lunatic action. I'm just thankful to Sagan that we've made it. Now, 'bout those milk n' cookies!!!", Ike said with a half-cocked grin. Ike poised for a moment as he and Brik exited med lab, Brik paging Skyler with the good news. Turning, he saw his friends Wraith and Logan... right where they both needed to be. "Oh, well." He thought to himself, "At least I've got Vera!"

Wraith reluctantly pulled back from the kiss, looking into Logan's eyes intently, his hands still gripping her shoulders tightly as if afraid she'd disappear if he broke the contact. "Are you alright?', he asked her seriously. Logan returned his gaze and nodded, still a little choked up from the dream and the relief at being back in his arms again. "I'm fine, really. Things are a bit foggy, but its starting to come back to me. The mission was a success." It was a statement not a question. "Thanks to some fancy flying by some crazy Viper pilots," Wraith grinned at her as he said the words.
"Lt.?", the doctor interupted.
Wraith and Logan both turned to her. "Yes?"
Logan quickly looked back at Wraith in surprise, then a slow smile crept across her face. "Exactly how long was I out, Lt., is it? I'm not sure I like the idea of not being able to order you around anymore."
Wraith could see she was teasing him, but he had never been more glad to hear that tone in her voice. "Well, get ready for another shock, they promoted Ike too."
Logan shook her head in mock amazement. "The Lords help us."
The doctor came over and did a few more scans on Logan, still dumbfounded by her miraculous recovery. "Lt. I can't find a single thing wrong with you."
"Don't sound so disappointed, Doc. Does that mean I can get out of here now?", Logan asked.
"I have no reason to keep you. The medtech will bring you your uniform and belongings and I'll release you so Major Skyler can put you back on duty." The doctor left them alone again.
Logan did a doubletake as the doctor walked away and turned to Wraith. "Did she just say 'Major' Skyler?"
Wraith smiled and nodded.
"Obviously I need to be briefed on what's been going on around here.", Logan said.
She looked at Wraith who was watching her closely, affection and relief still evident in his eyes. She took his hand and pulled him closer to her, her lips lightly touching his in a gentle kiss. She moved her lips to his ear and whispered,"Have I told you lately that I love you?"
She felt his lips brush her ear as he whispered back. "I love you too. Welcome back, Logan." She felt his arms close around her as she rested her head on his shoulder. For a micron, the medlab, the Callisto, everything disappeared as they held each other.
The medtech approached and cleared his throat, clutching Logan's clothing and blaster in his arms.
"Go ahead and get dressed and we'll get you out of here so you can check on your ship." Wraith said, knowing where her thoughts would naturally go next.
Logan grinned. "Those techs better not have screwed her up."
Logan dressed quickly, strapped on her blaster and joined Wraith in the corridor to head to the launch bay. She wanted to tell him about the dream she had in the medlab, but that could wait a while. Right now, she was just glad to be back walking the halls of the Callisto with him at her side.
