Boleman arrived at the quarters that he shared with Kammy and their child, and knocked their secret knock. Security had to be tight, since his adopted son was the biological spawn of Satan, or might as well be. But baby T would never know whose DNA he shared. Boleman thought about the child and how fast he was growing as he waited 15 microns, the allotted time before he would unlock the door himself. Strange, Kammy had never not answered before. She wasn't expecting him, she was probably taking a turbowash while the baby slept. That would be good, it would mean that she hadn't been watching Zerra. Boleman placed his eye on the scanner and then, as soon as it had unlocked, he quietly opened the door. "Kammy?" he called, hoping that his voice wasn't going to wake up the baby. "I know you weren't expecting me home so soon, but I didn't know if you saw the IFB report, and I wanted to let you know what's going on." Kammy wasn't in the living area, so Boleman approached her closed bedroom door and knocked. "Kammy?"

Kammy wasn't in her room. She wasn't anywhere. Neither was the baby. Boleman began to panic, Kammy knew very well that she couldn't leave their quarters until her eye surgery had healed and her transformation from Kyla to Kammy was complete. They were then to take the seal. He stopped to think, then noticed that his computer was on. There was something on the screen.
Boleman,
I can't do this. I'm sorry. Please don't come looking for us.
Kyla
Immediately Boleman checked the closets. Kammy's clothes were gone. Turner's things were missing as well. A million questions rushed through Boleman's mind. Were they really gone? Had he pushed Kammy into the idea of a sealing? Was their age difference important after all? Where could they go? There was one place that he might be able to get a few of the answers. He left, heading straight for the Callisto Security Office. Suddenly returning to the bridge didn't matter anymore.

Sparks flew as Lt. Ben used a torch to cut through the hull of the shuttle. Capt Stadia felt something wasn't right.
Short time later, Lt. Ben pulled the metal aside. Motioning for Lt. Tracy to take point, following him we entered the back of the shuttle.
I peaked around the edge of the door. I could see Major Brie and the rest of them nervously staring at two strangers. They were dressed like I had neverseen before.

Without watching where he was going, Boleman headed directly to the Callisto Security Office. Two Blackshirts that he knew fairly well were there. "Opposer Boleman," Enoch started, "we heard on IFB that there's a problem with the shuttles, but no information has made it back here. What's going on?"
"The prisoners tried to take over," Boleman replied. He hadn't even thought about the shuttles since he had discovered Kammy's note. "It appears to be an organized attempt. Looks like there are more of Pierce's people out there than we had originally thought."
"What's the status of the shuttles?" Jared wanted to know.
"Oh, both are waiting tows. Neither seems to be much of a threat anymore, but the Starliner Alpha has been evacuated, just in case." He paused. "Listen, guys, I need a favor. I need to see the security tapes from the past several centars. The scans of the outgoing shuttles being boarded."
Enoch and his partner exchanged glances. It was against regulations, but for Boleman... "Anything specific we're looking for?" Enoch asked.
"A woman with a baby," Boleman said, staring at the screen in front of him.
"Does she have a name?" Jared wanted to know. "I could look her up on the computer, see if there's any record of her leaving. It could narrow down the search."
"Kammy," Boleman said. "The baby's name is Turner."
Enoch and Jared exchanged glances again. "Give me a micron." Jared turned his attention to his computer, while Enoch helped Boleman search the small images on the security scans. "Here she is. 'Kammy, with infant Turner.' It says they left a little over three centars ago, for the Textile Ship."
"The Textile Ship?" Boleman repeated. "Why there?"
Jared sighed, knowing the answer. "Because it's an easy place to disappear. There's no video security surveillance, and if you're willing to wait long enough there are shuttles to almost every other ship in the fleet."
"There!" Enoch said quickly. He had moved the tapes ahead to the flight in question, and easily found the picture of the hooded woman, a child over her shoulder.
"Can you zoom in any closer?" Boleman wanted to know.
"Not too much," Enoch replied, "but I'll do what I can." The picture rapidly lost quality the bigger that woman and the baby became. The woman's face wasn't visible, although there was a brief glimpse of an eye patch. Boleman recognized the clothes and the bag she was carrying. The baby was a different story. His head over the woman's shoulder, Boleman recognized him instantly. "That's Turner," he said sadly.
"I though Turner was Brie's husband..." Enoch started, but his partner hit him on the arm.
"Turner is what Kammy and I decided to name our son." Boleman wiped a tear from his eye. "It's true, she really left." He didn't bother to try to stop any more of the tears.
Jared nudged his partner again. "Um, we'll be in the office if you need us." They left Boleman alone, staring at the grainy picture.

"Get the gun!" Comeek and Logan both screamed the words at the same micron.
As Comeek turned to scream at Ivan and Sid, Hush made his move. He locked his arms in Comeek's from behind and grasped him tightly. He wasn't too concerned about the man's involuntary yelp of pain as his arms were twisted behind his back. Hush was breathing hard as he called to Persephone, "Get the cuffs! All of them!" Hush didn't care if he had to restrain every limb the man had with a separate set of cuffs, he wasn't taking any chances that Comeek would wriggle out of his bonds again.
Logan was flat on her stomach, her hand closing on the blaster which was slick with Comeek's blood. A boot came down on her hand. Not even aknowledging the pain, she used her other hand to pry the foot off her hand and pushed as hard as she could. The move would have knocked a standing man backwards, but Sid was seated and had good leverage. His boot didn't budge. Anticipating the prisoner's next move, she rolled as far as she could barely escaping the other boot that had been aimed at her head.
Her hand still trapped, she screamed out with anger as the ancients of old had once done in battle, and pulled herself to her knees in front of Sid. With his hands tied behind his back, his feet were his only weapons. She could see Ivan attempting to manuever onto his knees as well.
She backhanded Sid across the face with such ferocity it jerked his head to the side. And had the desired effect of his foot loosening on her hand just enough for her to pull it free. She was almost certain that one of her fingers was broken. She ignored the pain and swung a blow to the man's jaw. He fell to the side unconscious. Make that two broken fingers.
Logan's hand closed around the blaster as Ivan pushed Sid off of him with his shoulder. When the big man's eyes darted back to the deck at Sid's feet, Logan had the blaster pointed right between his eyes.

Brie almost burst out laughing at Trula's request. The woman who hated her more than anyone else, pleading for her life! Brie was pretty sure that she wasn't in much danger of being shot, she had purposely chosen the nervous one, but she still wanted to negotiate some type of a deal with the two strangers, especially if they were human. Some of the humans that they had met along the way had been quite helpful. At the very least an exchange of technology might benefit both groups, with a little luck they could help guide the way to Earth...if it even existed. She just needed to figure out some way to get them to lower their weapons.
Something changed. Brie could feel a slight vibration under her feet, a vibration that the strangers, in their heavy armor, didn't seem to notice. The odds were about to change.

"Callisto Security, Officer Jared speaking."
"Um, yes, this is Hopper. I'm, um, in the Civilian Men's Barracks."
"What can I do for you, Hopper?"
"I...I think he's dead. I went to wake him up, and he just didn't move. I, um, know that he's had, um, all kinds of health problems."
"Did you check for a pulse?"
"Yes, I couldn't find one. He's, um, not breathing either, and his skin is really cold."
"Who are we talking about?"
"Den. He works in the Mess Hall, or, um, at least he used to."
"Thanks for contacting us, Hopper. I'll notify the medlab and they'll send someone right away."

Coroner's Report on civilian Den, elderly male. (Exact age or date of birth not on record.)
Died of natural causes, most likely a heart attack. Due to the deceased's history of health problems, an autopsy will not be performed. Since no next if kin is on record, body will be released to Callisto Security.

Capt Stadia slowly walked up behind the the two strangers with Lts Ben and TracyB behind. She tapped the stranger on the shoulder and when he turned she pointed her weapon at his face. With a stunned look on their faces they slowly raised their hands. One of the strangers seeing that he had been bested by a girl tried taking a swing at the captain but the captain was to quick. She stepped out of his way giving him a swift knuckle sandwich to the face. He feel to the floor. Trula was stunned to see that their opportunity had been thwarted once again. Lts Ben and TracyB moved to Brie and Brik and made sure they were untied and unhurt while CaptStadia held a laser on everyone.

"Lts lets see what we need to do to get the shuttle ready to tow to the prison barge. I wouldn't want to give these thugs another chance to cause trouble."
