What do you think of Paramount pulling the plug on the "TNG" franchise movies? Do you think they should make a combined series movie (TNG,DS9 & Voyager)?

I think they need to pull the plug on the lame writing staff that thinks up these stupid concepts, no, takes a concept that could be so cool and screws it up beyond belief. Paramount is milking the Trek Cash Cow for every penny they can get.
Yes, I think DS9 could pull off a Movie fanchise, if they hire decent writers, more than that, writers that are FANS..... Not idiots like Moore Ron ...... we won't even go there.....
Whatever they do, they need to do it fast or they will go from milking a cash cow to beating a dead horse. Look at Enterprise, with every episode they are rewriting Trek History established in the other series......

A TNG/DS9 mix might work, although a straight DS9 movie might be more interesting. Voyager should never be let within sight of a screen again. What would a DS9 movie do though, to continue the story? The series ended with a couple of very definite resolutions, unlike the TNG's "full circle, on we go" finale.

Well if there were to be a DS9 Movie, one place where they can start is Sisko re-appearing due to an iminent threat to the Federation or DS9 itself. Sisko said on the last episode that he would return. From there, well that up to the writers.

I'd like to see a DS9 movie, mainly because that was my favorite series and the writing was more complex than the other incarnations. TNG mixed in would be ok, but definitely would have to be less Data oriented. Love Data, but tired of the plots being centered around him all the time. Sisko coming back to help the Federation would be wonderful to watch and I really miss those characters-maybe something with the Dominion and Cardassia again. And I agree about Voyager-please don't put us through that misery again. I could see a cameo by the Doctor, but that's about all I could stand. Logan

Why doesn't anyone like Voyager? Is it because of the premis? Is it because the overall story and/or the characters sucked?
I personally liked all of them. Go figure.

I liked a lot of the Voyager episodes, but had to suffer through some lackluster writing and dull plotlines to get to the good ones. The premise for the show was interesting and I started off loving the tension between the Maquis and Starfleet characters. Did not like the Kazon. Never could take them seriuosly as a threat, mainly because their hair was so ridiculous that's all I could focus on whenever they were onscreen. Did not like Janeway. Personal preference. Liked seeing a woman Captain, but she didn't enjoy the bun on her head or the bug up her butt. My favorite eps were ones where Chakotay defied her when she was being obstinate and utterly unreasonable. Her best moment was in "Scientific Method" when she lost it with the alien that had been experimenting on her and the crew without their knowledge. To me, that was the only time she was "real." Did not like Kes. Again, personal prefernece. I found her to be boring. The other characters I liked, but felt that their potential was not explored fully mainly due to poor writing. And the final straw for me came in the series finale, Seven and Chakotay. I could go on for hours, as Brian/Skyler knows only too well. Seven and Chakotay? Huh? Was I watching the same show as the writers? I didn't buy it for a minute. There was never so much as a look shared between them, no uncomfortable silence in the turbolift, no footsie under the table in the briefing room...well, you get the idea. I was truly disappointed with this plot twist, as it made no sense and came out of nowhere. So, hope that answers your question, Hawke, albeit in long-winded fashion. Logan/Lisa

If they go forward, I'd like to see a new ship and crew arrive at DS9. We get to meet its crew as they relate to the remaining DS9 members. Some of the DS9 folks go along to "rescue" Sisko who just might end up rescuing them instead.
I watched Voyager, liked the concept, and generally enjoyed the show, but I had a lot of qualms about it. With better writing, it could have been a lot better! Logan did a great job of summarizing most of my comments. I liked Chakotay and Tom Paris, but felt both were somewhat underused, particularly Paris. Perhaps Chakotay could be the captain of the new ship, with Paris as First Officer, though I'm not sure this would work.
This is all assuming, of course, that we can't get the voyages of Captain Sulu and the Excelsior.

I am with Tony on this one.... The Sulu Movie is the way to go. If you doubt it, ask George at any place you see him. He will be glad to tell you all about how great it would be. Captain Sulu would be a great.....
