Don't know if anyone besides Skyler, Brie and myself will care, but have you heard about this? news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060626/ap_en_ot/britain_rowlingOk, my prediction. IF two MAIN characters die (emphasized because Rowling said a main character would die in Goblet of Fire and I don't think that technically Cedric was what I considered a main character) I would venture to guess one of the Weasley's (probably Ron, which I would HATE her for forever, but could see him dying as a turning point for Harry) and Snape, who would die probably saving Harry because he's not really evil, I don't care what you say. Frankly, I have a hard time believing any of the bits she lets slip because its also been said that Dumbledore will not be in Book 7, but I don't believe he's really dead, so that shoots that out the window, imo. Oh and here's a theory to chew on...Neville is really the Chosen One and Harry (or at least his scar) is one of the Horcruxes. These last two are my own opinions after rereading every book six or seven times. Wow, I need to get a life.

I care to Logan and can't wait for the next movie to come out. But as for my prediction in book 7. I beleive Voldermort dies as well as Harry, with Harry dying due to injuries sustained in him fighting Voldermort. If Harry doesn't die, Hermione is the other likely candidate to dying, probably protecting Harry.

When I first heard this, my initial thought was Snape and Ron. I've always thought that Snape would die saving Harry. (I agree with you, Logan, Snape isn't really bad and Dumbledore is still alive.) The reason I say Ron is because if he dies heroically he could momentarily get out of Harry's shadow. Then thinking a little bit more, Draco might not make it, and to totally throw everyone for a loop, maybe McGonagall.
I don't see how both Harry and Voldemort can both survive, so they probably will. Rowling likes to keep people guessing. My guess is that the character that got the reprieve would be one of them.
The question we really need to wonder is what makes a main character. You're right about Cedric, I thought the same thing about Sirius. When he died my initial reaction was "So?"
Interesting theory about Neville. Works for me, he's my favorite character!

Those are exactly the reasons I was thinking for Ron and Snape.
As for Sirius, I think he'll be the one to get the reprieve. Because he's the one who is technically dead. Since I don't think Dumbledore is really dead, he can't get the reprieve...thats MY logic anyway.

I hadn't thought of the reprieve that way. They way I saw it, she had planned on killing someone off and changed her mind. But you're right, it could be bringing someone back.

And Justin, the most logical choices would be Harry and Voldemort. I just don't see her doing something that would make sense to us. I could see Voldemort dying because he is the Big Bad that has to be defeated and Harry being the hero that sacrifices himself to kill him...actually that makes sense if Harry has anything to do with the Horcrux because as long as a piece of Voldemort's soul is out there, he could find a way to rise again.
I spend WAY too much time thinking about this stuff.

Don't quote me, but isn't it said along the books somewhere that once a headmaster of Hogwarts dies, he/she then joins former headmster/mistrisses in a painting. At the end of Half Blodd Prince Dumbledore cleary took his place in a painting in the Headmasters office painting. In the end we can all keep guessing and will so till the book comes out.
Before I go though, as for Snape, I think all the years at being looked over as Teacher for the Dark Arts finally wore on him and that is why he made the magical pact with the deatheaters to finish of Dracos mission if he failed and tats why he had no worries aout killing Dumbledore. If he was trully on the side of good he would have warned someone and try to blame Harry for stealing ingrediants for the polyjuice potion witch Draco and Co were using. My opinion anyway.

Good points, Justin. I'm like Logan, though, I refuse to believe that Dumbledore is dead. I've always been stubborn. I guess that's one of the nice things about fantasy, she can do pretty much anything that she wants, she's created this world.
Okay, here's a question or two. Favorite character? Favorite book? Favorite movie so far if it's different from the favorite book? Why?
Okay, that's four questions. Sorry about that.

Actually Justin, that Headmaster painting bit was the ONLY thing about Dumbledore's "death" that threw me. I'm not sure how to explain that one if he isn't really dead. So, thanks for bringing that up!
I do believe that Snape is really good. I can't see Dumbledore, who was the only wizard that Voldemort feared, being gullible enough to trust Snape. An McGonagall says at one point that Dumbledore has his reasons for trusting Snape but won't share them. There is something between Dumbledore and Snape that hasn't been revealed yet. Think about it. Snape told Voldemort about the Prophecy which made Voldemort go after Harry and kill his parents. Dumbledore KNEW that Snape gave him the information. This should be enough to prove he is pure evil, but 'something' happens and Dumbledore forgives him and trusts him. So, it has to be BIG.
No, I think Dumbledore and Snape were prepared for the worst and had a plan in place to fake Dumbledore's death if Hogwarts was attacked and Snape had to continue pretending loyalty to the Death Eater's. Thats my theory anyway.
Favorite character? Snape. Go figure. And Ron is a close second. Favorite book? Prisoner of Azkaban. The first one to get serious and dark, imo. Favorite movie? Goblet of Fire. Didn't feel the others were done justice. Goblet came the closest to giving the 'feel' I got from the books. And I was very impressed with the way the graveyard scene and Harry''s return with Cedric were handled. I cried like a baby. Beautifully done.

Favorite character: Hermione, Harrry a close second Favorite book: Goblet Of Fire, Order Of The Phoinex Favorite movie so far if it's different from the favorite book? GOF
The reason I like Order Of The Phoinex a close second is because its just as Dark plus it is full on. But what topped it off was the ending when Arthur Weasley and Co rip into Dursley and threatening him if Harry isn't happy with the way he's treated. After such a dark book it was great to have an ending that I could laugh.
