To avoid any future confusions, I am proposing that we add the following to our web site. It's not written in stone, in fact I would love input from all of our members. The final draft could go on the site, near the top, sometime in the middle of next week. Let me know what you think, either by posting here, or sending me a PM. My feelings won't be hurt, I promise.
**
The Battlestar Callisto is a nostalgia group, focusing on the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica series. Our primary means of remembering the original show is through our role-playing game. We, as a group, support a revival of the series with the original cast and themes. We predate the new series, currently running on the Sci-Fi Channel, and have no collective opinion on the show. All that is required to be a member of the Callisto is a love of the original.
We value and respect the opinions of all our members and on the topic of the new series we agree to disagree. We have, however, removed links from some web sites who had asked us to spend our time and hard earned money working against the current series, but are now wholeheartedly supporting it.

Brie,
I think this is extremely well stated. I vote for it.

Just so everyone knows, I changed the second word in the second paragragh from "value" to "respect." It sounds better, and was actually the word I was looking for, although both words would be true. Maybe we could say "value and respect." What do you think?

"value and respect" is good.

Okay, it's now "value and respect."

And now my opinion! (Uh oh)
I still think we should be linked to any BSG site regardless of it's stance on the new series. I think anything that might attract new players to our game would be a good thing. We have the coolest rpg I've seen out there, and if fans of the new series are clear that we are set in the original universe and could adapt their approach to fit that setting, that they would be welcome to play.
With that in mind, I would change the last part. Instead of We have, however, removed links from some web sites who had asked us to spend our time and hard earned money working against the current series, but are now wholeheartedly supporting it. ...
I would put something like "We welcome all BSG fans regardless of which series they like better to join our game, remembering that it is set in the universe of the 1978 original series. Please see our FAQ or contact a member of core command for information about how to join us."
I know that's too rosy but that's how I feel about it. And my feelings won't be hurt if no one thinks the same way.

I agree with Amy's addition. It is a bit clearer and welcomes all who want to play with us in the original universe...

Just so everyone knows, the vote swung to keep the links removed from our site. Battlestargalactica.com as I've pointed out previously, doesn't have our correct URL. The fan club has it correctly, but it takes forever to load.
I've added Amy's addition. We can go one of two ways:

The only thing that still makes me wonder is where it says, "We have no collective opinion about the new show."
Our FAQ states that we do not support the new show and we basically ignore it as far as our actions go on the website and the bboards. Perhaps we should change that line to something like "We predate the new series currently running on Sci-Fi Channel and do not support the reimagining of Battlestar Galactica. However, all that is required..." and then it continues from there.
I like the 2nd option as stated above by Brie...

The reason I put the "no collective opinion" part in is that it's true. You ask 10 of our members their opinion on the new show and you'll get 10 different answers. There are members who love the show. Last email I got from Osh, for example, he was raving about how wonderful it is. Others hate it. And I've heard a lot of "it's not that bad, but I like the original better." That's no collective opinion, and I personally think if we state that right off, it will end any confusions, which is what we hope to accomplish by putting this up on the site.
That's not supporting it. It's just telling the truth.
This is a good discussion. Let's keep it going. I would love more opinions!
